AVATAR WORLD: MONSTERVERSE VERSION.

The Avatar World is a legendary world with unique characteristics, remarkable qualities and special factors that make it different from others. It also has a unique storyline full with great events and special places. But…What if this world did not really belong to our characters? What if this planet wasn't what both humans and spirits believe it is? What if they come to discover who or what are the real rulers of planet Earth?

Welcome to the Avatar World, Monsterverse Version.

This is an idea of my own, not a project, but a crossover idea between the world of Avatar (Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra) and the Monsterverse. The characters, events, creatures and more of the Monsterverse taking place in the Avatar world. You know what that means, right?

Everything that happened in the Monsterverse, for the moment (Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs Kong, etc…), alongside everything what Team Avatar experienced and lived through their journey. But they will be ready to know that their world never belonged to themselves and their people but to "them"? They will be ready for their encounters with the Earth's original and rightful rulers? What will be of them when they meet the Titans face to face? How planet Earth will change when that moment finally arrived?

I do not know, but sounds something very epic and amazing. It's a new upcoming crossover project that I have been planning from very long time. Unfortunately, it will take a while for this story to arrive, as I am very busy focused on finishing another important crossover story project of mine. For the moment, I am going to do a new timeline resulting of combining the Avatar World' history with all that we know for the moment about the Monsterverse timeline. Enjoy it.

For an entire century, The Hundred Year War ravaged the world of the four nations through decades of global warfare, and only few special groups like the Order of the White Lotus could see its effects like no one else during all that time. They witnessed everything that happened during these dark times, while acting and watching very deep in the shadows was another special and secret group of people which couldn't have been more different. These were another ancient society-like organization that also transcended the boundaries of the nations and had some similar qualities of the order, but with a very different objective. It was called Monarch, a secret and the very first scientific organization which mission was to hunt and contain strange and enormous unidentified creatures and made their best to ensure the world never knew their existence, especially during the great war. But Monarch's moment would come. Hundreds of years ago, shortly after the foundation of the four nations, a great number of fleets from all nations traveled and congregated at an unknown destination far away in open sea near to a new atoll, a place nearly forgotten by humankind, except for its natives. These scouts had no idea about the nature of whatever was what they were looking, when then…something awakened. A titanic prehistoric alpha predator that the natives referred to him as…Gojira, and someday, the entire world will know him as…Godzilla. Since that very day, the discovery of that ancient creature started the countdown of the beginning of a new age in the future, the beginning of something that would change the world forever.

This new book is about what Monarch did in all that time and what happened next, after one of the main events of the history of the Avatar world. The unknown book: Titans. This one tells everything related with the planet's original and rightful rulers, divided for the moment in 4 volumes, alongside all its history and a timeline related with Monarch and the Titans.

Just like its original version, here Monarch is a secret scientific organization that was founded thousands of years ago by the very first leaders of the four nations (which makes it not only the very first scientific group, but also the most ancient one) in order to investigate the sinking of the Lawton Flagship by a giant creature, or Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism (MUTO), Monarch soon expanded into a highly-secret international organization. A few years later, it was involved in attempts to kill Godzilla with the help of a special group of the united military forces of the four nations with a combined elemental bomb-like attack (with power equal to a nuclear bomb) at a new hidden atoll. Since then, Monarch has been hidden from the world's eyes and making their operations in the shadows. Like in the original Monsterverse, most members of Monarch and similar have names totally different from the people of the Avatar World, as other characters from the movies too, but just like them, all members of Monarch come from each one of the four nations. Its crew is formed by both benders and non-benders, and just like the original one, Monarch is way ahead of its time, as it's the most advanced organization with technology and scientific equipment in the world, especially some time before the incident of the Mutos started. After the battle of Godzilla against the Mutos, the members of Team Avatar start working alongside Monarch and becomes honorary members of it.

The first part of this story is Volume 1: Skull Island (also known as Volume 1: Skullcrawlers), which will tell the story of the journey of a team of Monarch (alongside some of the parents, relatives and/or predecessors of members of Team Avatar) into a forgotten and forbidden place of the world, in middle of the Hundred Year War.

This will be followed by Volume 2: Mutos. The Hundred Year War has ended, but…a new and bigger threat appears for Team Avatar, an ancient one that they are not prepared to fight against. A prehistoric giant creature awakens from more than a decade of slumber and starts to bring destruction wherever it goes, which gets worse when a second one comes. Team Avatar and the nations' forces seems powerless against them, until an ancient force of nature returns to stop them; a king among monsters.

The next part of the story will be Volume 3: King Ghidorah. This time, both Team Avatar, Monarch and the four nations continues their fight for survival, this time much harder than before, when a new group of humans uses a new last generation device for their plans to awaken and free the Titans in order to bring back nature's long ago forgotten true balance. But everything becomes worse when an ancient rival of the alpha predator, "The One Who is Many", returns and starts spreading chaos and disaster around the world and leading the Titans against the nations. Now, Team Avatar must help the alpha Titan to recover his rightful place as the one and true King of the Monsters.

As I said before, it will take a long time for the first part to arrive, but meanwhile, you can have an idea of what it will mean and become. So, it's time to take a look to their hidden, mysterious and important history and its timeline.

Then, with everything said, let's begin:

- c. 9,829 BG/Unknown date before c. 3,829 BG – End of the Age of Raava/Beginning of the Age of the Avatar.

- Unknown dates before 345 BG – Foundation of the four nations: Humanity splits into the four nations, each divided by the respective bending arts. The Air Nomads learn the art of airbending from the flying bisons, the Earth Kingdom learn the art of earthbending from the badgermoles, the Sun Warriors learn the art of firebending from the dragons, and the Water Tribes learn the art of waterbending by observing the pull of the moon on the ocean tides. This and with the spirits in their world put the sparks and seeds for the restoration of the natural world's true balance in the future.

The Lawton Flagship Incident – The Lawton flagship, the very first ship manned by people from all nations, was attacked by an unidentified superspecies, an ancestor of William "Bill" Randa was the only survivor to tell the tale. Haunted by the memory of that day, Randa's ancestor has since set out to become one of Monarch's foremost operatives alongside his family, searching for the truth behind these ancient creatures that exists beneath the surface of their world.

The Awakening – The huge explosion of a radioactive natural reservoir on one of the islands of a new discovered unknown atoll caused by human activity from a great fleet of the nations, looking for resources, awakens the ancient superspecies Godzilla beneath the Earth, along with another ancient creature Shinomura.

Monarch Founded – In the aftermath and cover-up of the Lawton Flagship incident, the very first leaders of the four nations unofficially establishes "Monarch Unit" together, a small, off-book research team established to engage in the systematic study of "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms", as Monarch people decides to name them. Privately, many allies questioned the validity of the group's theories and work to keep their existence a secret.

The Legend of Gojira – A series of multiple sightings have occurred across the ocean located very far south of the Fire Nation. Godzilla's existence was not yet proven until years later, however his legend was quickly spread across that sea unknown regions and territories, focused mainly on the mysterious and unknown Odo Island, the land where Godzilla was worshipped as a god.

The Great Smog of Taku – Baffling wise people and elder ones, and defying masters, monks and philosophers, this unexplained phenomenon saw Taku's streets overwhelmed by huge clouds of air-polluting smoke. Monarch theorizes that the beating wings of a giant creature could have created an anticyclone that unleashed airborne pollutants across the city.

Operation: Castle Bravo/Lucky Dragon – Shortly after Godzilla's discovery, most of the united military forces of the four nations took action and attempted to terminate the monster preparing an ambush for him. The details of that battle are not recorded, but in the event, Godzilla was able to get some advantage over Shinomura and destroy it. The event was later covered up as many different stories, like a "special field testing", an "insurrection conspiracy against the nations" or even "the first great fight between the four nations", among others. It is unknown at this time if Godzilla had been eliminated or is still alive.

- 12 BG – Beginning of the End of an Age/Birth of the Last Airbender: Avatar Roku dies during a volcanic eruption at age seventy; Avatar Aang of the Air Nomads is born. Monarch starts to keep a low profile and an eye on what respect to Fire Lord Sozin's suspicious plans for the Fire Nation and it increases the concealment of its own existence to the world. There's no news or signs of new activities on Monarch's field.

- 0 AG – Genocide of the Air Nomads/The Hundred Year War begins: Avatar Aang is confirmed as Avatar at the age of twelve, four years earlier than normal, because the monks were fearful of a possible war. The monks decided to send Aang to the Eastern Air Temple to continue his training. Distraught and confused by his destiny, he flees from the Southern Air Temple with his flying bison, Appa. Upon getting caught in a storm and being pulled underwater, Aang enters the Avatar State and encases himself in ice near the South Pole. Fire Lord Sozin begins what would be the Hundred Year War by attacking the other nations. He uses the power of a comet, later renamed Sozin's Comet in his honor, to launch a genocidal attack on the Air Nomads in an attempt to kill the Avatar. All of the Air Nomads (including all the members of Monarch who belonged to that nation, and perished trying to protect their people) are killed except for Aang. The Fire Nation launches a massive coordinated invasion of the Earth Kingdom, slowly but surely advancing across the continent over the course of the next hundred years. The city of Taku is destroyed during the process. Monarch acts and stays more in the shadows, with its people unable to do anything against the increasing war without risking themselves, only allowed to watch and observe the passing of events of the next decades of these dark times. It will pass more than half century or like that before Monarch has its next main operation.

- 40 AG – The Southern Water Tribe's Darkest Hour: The Fire Nation begins raids on the Southern Water Tribe, destroying its city and systematically capturing its waterbending population. Monarch's staff starts helping the war's victims in secret, sending medical assistance, food and water and other resources, thanks to its now most advanced scientific equipment of the world, for the moment, resulting of its combination and hybridization of all the nations' technologies.

- 50 AG – Mystery on the North – At the height of the war, Monarch manage to avoid Northern Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation troops of discovering a huge containment facility of theirs hidden and established around an icecap in the north pole. The Monarch emblem can be emblazoned across the canopy of the structure.

- 75 AG – Mission: Skull – Monarch surreptitiously partners with a fleet composed of ships and forces from the Northern Water Tribe, the Southern Water Tribe and the Earth Kingdom, to mount an expedition to the mythical "Skull Island" in an uncharted corner of the open ocean. Encountering the god-like superspecies known as Kong, they soon discover that mankind does not belong there.

- 77 AG – Isle of Mara – Monarch installed an outpost on the new discovered small island of Isle de Mara, located on the ocean very far north of the Fire Nation, laying the groundwork under the guise of "environmental and innovation research" for later construction of a "full containment facility" around the inactive volcano there, successfully without any suspicions from the Fire Nation.

- 81 AG – Return to Skull Island – Monarch security officer Aaron Brooks defies his father Houston Brooks and leads an off-the-books expedition to Skull Island to determine what has become of Kong since the first expedition years ago, but also for assurance that Kong is on their side. It is also discovered that Kong has grown larger in size since the last expedition.

- 83 AG – Ignus Janjira Downfall – Following an explosive disaster at a hidden underground radioactive deposit on the Fire Nation colony of Ignus Janjira, Monarch established a quarantine zone around the evacuated and contaminated colony. All records and files about the colony were vanished, like if it never existed. Princess Ursa discovers that the Ignus Janjira Q-Zone is in reality a containment facility established around a dormant M.U.T.O.

- 90 AG – A Mysterious Mercenary – Former Fire Nation Army Colonel and spy agent Alan Jonah is locked up in the Prison Tower after an encounter with Monarch agents disguised as soldiers of the Fire Nation. Jonah and his band of mercenary accomplices were caught trying to breach the walls of a subterranean M.U.T.O. dig-site.

- 94 AG – The Siege of Ba Sing Se: Iroh begins his legendary Siege of Ba Sing Se.

Temple of the Moth – Mythographic studies of hidden and forgotten ancient temples leads Monarch to a hidden new jungle very deep inside the forests of the northwestern areas of the Earth Kingdom: the Yunnan Province jungle. Dr. Emma Russell and her team discovered a temple housing a giant cocoon with a "quickening heartbeat.", as well as clues to its connection to the place called Infant Island.

- 97 AG – Searching for the Avatar: Prince Zuko is banished to capture the Avatar after an Agni Kai with his father, Fire Lord Ozai. He is accompanied by his uncle, Iroh.

Message in a Bottle – Days before retirement, Monarch veteran Houston Brooks receives an encrypted letter inside a bottle bearing a message from his son. His unauthorized mission to Skull Island has resulted in the death of the whole crew (except himself) and revealed dramatic new information about Kong's origins, his role on the island and how Skull Island had evolved since his father's "visit".

- 99 AG – The Return of the Avatar: Avatar Aang is awakened from one hundred years of suspended animation by Katara and Sokka. Avatar Roku informs Aang on the winter solstice that Sozin's Comet will arrive by summer's end, telling him that Ozai must be defeated by the time of its arrival. Avatar Aang begins his waterbending training with Katara. Monarch won't know anything about that the Avatar is back until many days before the Day of Black Sun.

Monster Zero – An extraordinary superspecies is discovered beneath the ice in the south pole, three months before Avatar Aang's awakening. Monarch, led by Vivienne Graham, built a containment and research facility in a hidden place of the south pole around the dormant creature, far away from the Southern Water Tribe. Her classified field notes contain a mysterious footnote: "The Devil has three heads."

- 100 AG – The End of the War/A New Beginning: Team Avatar makes their most iconic missions, debut events and battles. The Order of the White Lotus, led by General Iroh, frees Ba Sing Se from Fire Nation rule in the liberation of Ba Sing Se, effectively liberating the entire Earth Kingdom. Prince Zuko and Katara defeat Azula during her coronation as Fire Lady in the Comet-Enhanced Agni Kai. This causes Azula to lose her remaining mental sanity. An attack launched by Toph, Sokka, and Suki succeeds in destroying the armada while Aang battles Ozai. Avatar Aang defeats Ozai through the use of the Avatar State and uses energybending to strip him of his firebending. Prince Zuko ascends to the throne as Fire Lord, vowing to the nations that he will dedicate his rule to rebuilding the world with the help of the Avatar. Secretly and disguised, members of Monarch also assist to Zuko's coronation as Fire Lord.

- Unknown dates of 100 AG or after (Classified by Monarch) – The New Age/Back to Monarch: Even though the war is over, Monarch leaders decide is not yet the moment to reveal their existence to the world, not without everything that had happened, so they focus their efforts and attention on Ignus Janjira containment facility, where it is reported that the creature seems to reach its most advanced stage. After recovering her memories and returning back to the Fire Nation with her son and both her old and new family, Ursa tries to contact with her old link member of Monarch, Doctor Serizawa, after many years without news and reach it, but there is no answer.

The Battle of Ba Sing Se – The existence of superspecies is revealed to the world as Godzilla clashes with two Mutos in the center of Ba Sing Se, with Team Avatar trapped inside the combat. Unleashing devastation upon the urban center, the world watches as Godzilla defends their world and restores balance to the natural order, something similar to Avatar Aang's role. The time has come for Monarch to step out of the shadows.

Journey to Skull Island – Aang and his team are informed that, after a long time missing mysteriously from her prison cell, Azula has returned, recovered her sanity and freed her father Ozai from the Prison Tower, besides of gathering the remaining forces of the Fire Nation still loyal to Ozai and her and gaining some little information about Monarch. They are later informed by Monarch that the Fire Nation remnants are traveling to Skull Island in order to find in there something that can allow them to recover all their former glory and might, so they decide to follow and chase them in order to stop them for good, not without before being warned about the native superspecies that inhabits the island, and its king. Team Avatar allies themselves with the natives of the island and together fights the army, resulting in the awakening of a new Skullcrawler pack; included a second Skull Devil, a new and bigger Ramarak that leads the pack and decimate the Fire Nation remnant forces. Besides of that, the humans look themselves trapped inside a civil war between the Death Jackals and the newly awakened Deathrunners, one of the last and remaining dinosaur species of the island leaded by a new Gaw, another ancient rival of Kong' species. All this enrages King Kong and start chasing all of them in order to restore the balance of his kingdom. Later, Azula and Ozai meet their ends in the jaws of the alpha Skullcrawler and all the remaining forces of the Fire Nation rogue army are destroyed by him, Gaw and Kong. Then Ramarak and Gaw faces and fight each other before surprisingly allying together against the island's king. In the end, Team Avatar helps Kong fighting the two giant creatures and successfully defeating them both, after that, Aang bows to Kong as a sign of respect to him. After the battle of Skull Island and leaving, Avatar Aang starts to identify himself with creatures like Godzilla and Kong and decided to understand them better. Since this, Team Avatar starts working together with Monarch.

Aftershock – Shortly after their mission on Skull Island, Team Avatar finds another unpleasant surprise while returning back home. Titanus Jinshin-Mushi, dubbed "Muto Prime", reemerges to unleash a series of devastating earthquakes, and a fully regenerated Shinomura resurfaces once again after hundreds of years of growing and restoration. These two ancient Titans brings more destruction wherever they go, driven by an unstoppable primal instinct that will test Godzilla like never before. It is also here that Monarch and Team Avatar learns the revelation of the Mutos origins and how does Jinshin-Mushi relate to them and its rivalry with the Titanus Gojira species. Team Avatar helps Monarch to give Godzilla much advantage as possible over both Shinomura and Muto Prime. First, they manage to make Muto Prime and Shinomura battle each other, so they become weakened. Then later, they manage to separate them both so Godzilla could fight them separately. In that way Godzilla, with help of Team Avatar and Monarch, is able to eliminate Shinomura once and for all and terminate Muto Prime at last.

King of the Monsters – As the ancient terror Ghidorah reemerges to wreak havoc once again, Godzilla, alongside with Team Avatar again, and with other emerging titans, Mothra and Rodan, engage in a devastating conflict that determines the fate of the world and to see who will become the King of the Monsters.

History of Alphas – Shortly after Godzilla and Mothra's victory over King Ghidorah and the beginning of Godzilla's reign, Aang, with the help of Monarch, travels with Katara to both Odo Island and Infant Island in order to learn more about the ancient histories and mythologies of both Godzilla and Mothra from the perspective and traditional knowledge of the natives that worshipped the alpha Titans like gods.

God vs. King – As the Titans begin to converge to Skull Island, Godzilla and Kong begin the ultimate battle for supremacy.

Note: The volume based on Godzilla vs. Kong will have two versions: One in Aang's time and the other in Korra's time.
