A/N: IMPORTANT! This is a sequel of the series 'Fate' I would suggest reading Long Awaited first, because although you can probably understand what's going on, it wont be as much fun and their are spoilers. Also, for those who already read the first chapter of this, I re-wrote this and added some things in(most notably the first 1000 words). Also, I Re-wrote it in third person, so it's different. I think because of the coming school year longer and less frequent chapters are better. I think for the update schedule I'll be posting 3500 word chapters once a week on sunday.
Third Person Point of View
"I still remember how we figured out they had magic." Rebecca said fondly curled up on a couch in the family's living room.
She was holding a photo album. "we found out Lily had magic when she was five. She seemed fed up with eating her vegetables." Then with further thought Rebecca said, "Or any human food in general, and some things blew up."
She showed Cristian a photo of when she was that young and Cristian couldn't help but think how beautiful she was. She had that 'I'm innocent' look in her eyes that meant she did something she wasn't supposed to.
"Of course, this picture was taken a little bit before we learned about her magic."
"It was actually only a few days afterwards that we figured out she wasn't eating all her food and was sneaking it out. When I told her to eat everything after I found out, she threw a bit of a tantrum. Some things exploded, and she got the chance to go to Hogwarts. This was actually around the time I joined the ruling squad. Of course, she met you, and now I have another kid I can call a son. The rest is history"
Cristian didn't know what to say, "Of course it's embarrassing now for her, I can almost see her blush when she hears I told you, but that's the job of a mom. I'm supposed to share some pretty embarrassing stuff." She said with a chuckle.
"Now finding Will had Magic was a bit different."
"He was ten, so he might not have had the chance to go to Hogwarts if his magic had waited another year."
She showed Cristian the picture of Will, a little bit younger than when he had met him. His hair was a bit longer too, "He got a bad haircut. Of course, nothing exploded and he didn't have a tantrum, but he was frustrated, and his hair grew back abnormally fast. Something that actually happened whenever my aunt would cut my hair."
"Hey mo-" Will had opened the door to see his mom and Cristian looking at a photo album. Specifically, what both he and Lily both liked to call thee photo album.
It held some of their most embarrassing moments growing up, and he felt his cheeks redden at the thought of what was in there. Cristian had an 'I'm so embarrassing you later look' and his mom of course had a shit eating grin directed at him.
He had come hoping to snuggle with his mom and complete some homework. Now though, Lily was embarrassed as well.
I should have hidden that photo album a long time ago! Still, they both knew that would have been pointless. Mom would know who hid it, and of course, dad would just have to touch Lily to know where. Something he would gladly do for mom.
"Will, do you want to join us?" Cristian was snickering silently at his expense, getting dangerously close to suffocating. Something Rebecca either didn't notice or didn't comment on. Will thought that it was probably the latter.
Before he could respond, Lily showed up, took the photo album, and closed it, putting it on the shelf with her vampire speed. After that, she wiped nonexistent dust off her hands, "Well, that seems like enough stories for today! Why don't we do something else?" She said trying to hide her embarrassment. She didn't know how many stories mom had gotten too, but it was too many in her opinion.
"Oh, come on Lily. Don't you want to hear about the time with the spoon and the rabbit?"
Sucking in air at the mention, she said back, "I was two!" and when Rebecca tried to use magic to summon the album, lily tried to keep it from reaching her.
Of course, she failed, and Rebecca opened the book once again. Showing everyone the picture of her when she was two. There was a live rabbit, and she was trying to feed it with a spoon. mortified her face went red.
"A friend needed us t-"
"Hey Lily? Why did you leave so quic-"
Reneesme walked in, her eyes landing on the picture of lily when she was two, and snorted.
"Is this story time?" She asked and walked over to the couch, "Schoch over, I want to hear this."
Smiling Rebecca said, "Where was I?" after figuring it out, she continued.
"So, we got a rabbit from a friend who needed us to take care of it. Luna was going to look for some treelumps-"
"What's a treelump?" Smirking, she said, "Luna says there an endangered species usually mistaken for tree nymphs because, like them, they tend to disappear in the woods. The difference, she tells me, is that treelumps actually turn into trees instead of tree nymphs, who only connect with the tree."
Reneesme was a little less confused, but still reasonably confused. Of course, Luna's idea's on what creatures were out there would make anyone confused.
"Basically, she was looking for treelumps, and need our help. Lily, obviously wanted to help because the thing was so cute and got the responsibility of feeding it. Imagine my surprise when I walk in and she's put the rabbit in a highchair and feeding it some cut up lettuce and carrots on a spoon."
"I was two!" She repeated, "I snapped a picture, because honestly, it was adorable; and put it in here when she started thinking it was embarrassing."
After summer break, Rebecca could be found ushering lily, will, and Cristian, through platform nine and three courters.
Stopping them before they got on the train; she said, "Do you remember what I said in regards to your defense against the dark arts teacher?"
They nodded, feeling like the subject was getting daunting.
"Don't trust them." Lily said trying to reassure her mom that nothing was going to happen to them.
Her mom's mentality was something along the lines of, 'if it happened twice, it would happen again.' Still, she didn't see how it could get any worse. Their teacher in first year kidnapped will, in second year they ended up fighting a twenty-foot basilisk that tried to kill them. There really couldn't be anything worse than someone trying to kill them in her opinion.
Don't jinx it or it'll probably happen.
But how can it get worse?!
That's the point, we don't know, and therefore should probably try not to jinx it and try to have a non-exciting school year.
Lily was close to stunned, had will gone insane? Their mom's school years were filled with excitement and lot's of it. Theirs's, so far had been as well. The chance that they would get a non-exciting school year was close to zero.
No, I have not gone insane. I'm just trying to look on the bright side and not immediately assume we inherited mom's luck.
Sure… We haven't inherited mom's luck, teddy's assessment, 'Never a dull moment with you two.' Just meant that our quills were always sharp.
You know what I mean.
"Good, now come on, we have to get you three to Hogwarts." Rebecca said stopping the mental conversation Lily and Will were having.
"But one last hug before you go."
During an extremely long bear hug, they heard the train's PA system.
The Hogwarts express will depart in one minute. If you haven't already, please enter the train.
"Okay, go on you three. You don't want to miss the train."
Because of the long hug, and almost missing the train. Most of the compartments were either full or only had space for one. Thankfully teddy chose a compartment that wasn't either.
There was an adult witch in there though, they couldn't figure out who because there was a blanket over the witch, and they didn't want to wake her up. The hybrids in the compartment could tell that her breathing was even enough for her to be asleep.
"Is she asleep?" Teddy said pointing at the witch, "Yes." He looked satisfied with that, "Okay, so you won't believe what happened this summer…"
"…and then it blew up!"
Tasha and matt had been creating some new pranks to use this year, and like the Weasley twins, things exploded. In this case, it had been a toy broom that made anyone riding it for more than thirty seconds do an Irish jig balancing on it. Teddy had only been an observer, but Dylan, teddy's brother had had quite the surprise.
"Ughmm…"
The witch groaned and woke up because teddy was being too loud, "Will, Lily?" She said while still groggy. It was Hermione granger, or more technically Hermione Finnegan. She had married Seamus Finnegan and therefore Finnegan was her new last name. She was actually a second cousin in law of the Finnegan that attacked them last year, "I didn't know you would be on the Hogwarts express." Lily blurted out a bit surprised.
Hermione laughed, "Yeah, I would have thought that last year too. I'm going to be your new defense against the dark arts teacher." The fact their mom had been so paranoid was because she didn't know who it was that was going to be teaching and if they had any grudges against vampires or any reason to attack. It was actually the reason their mom had given them a guard detail. Jane would be watching them and making sure they were safe this year. Neither of them were happy about being watched 24/7, but they understood the points and had an ultimatum. Chose boarding school with a guard detail or be homeschooled.
"Hopefully you two get a good education from me." With the twinkle in her eyes, you would think that being the defense professor was her dream since graduation, "Hopefully, if nothing like the last two years happen again this year."
Amused teddy said, "Like I said last year, never a dull moment between the two of you."
Hermione also amused smiled fondly remembering all the times they either got into trouble or had something interesting happen. She thought that it was actually the trauma that caused Rebecca to have that crazy desire to live like she would die tomorrow, "Yeah, your mom had luck like that too. She also has that craziness she tells me you have."
"Really?" Will asked, "I don't think were there yet actually, close, but not there."
After a while of catching up and getting to know Hermione, it was time for getting into the carriages outside the train.
This time will and lily could see the thestrals. Will being will, went out to pet it, while Lily just took them in.
They looked like a Pegasus in the sense they looked like horses that had wings, but their bones in some places seemed to not fit into the skin, and they looked malnourished, not mention the skin was pitch black.
Even though she knew that's what they were supposed to look like, it was still surprising to see it right in front of her eyes. Thinking back on it she realized that witnessing Ms. Finnegan's death was probably why she could see them at all.
Will of course was delighted to be able to see them, even though it meant he saw death that night in the chamber. Figures.
Hey! I'm just glad to see them again, though actually being able to see them is wonderful.
"Come on," Teddy said a bit impatiently, though still sarcastically, "I want to see my brother get sorted, besides you can check out your invisible friends later." It was true that to most thestrals were invisible, but if teddy said that without context, then it would make will seem a bit insane.
Will and lily joined Mary, Cristian, teddy, and Hermione, in the carriage. Hermione- Mrs. Finnegan. Fine, Mrs. Finnegan was in the carriage with them because she had come on the train today and not before then.
"So, will you do more practical lessons or theoretical?" The teachers lily and will had, had had different ways of teaching. Flamel did more practical learning than anything. And the previous Ms. Finnegan had done a lot more theoretical teaching. Only teaching practically if it's specified in the curiculum that it was necessary.
Looking back for the second time that day lily thought about it and found that it was probably to keep them defenseless in the case of a confrontation. "I'll be trying to get both in, though my lessons will probably lead a bit more into practical learning towards the end of the year."
A/N: So did you like it? hate it? think it was supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus(terrible)? I hope it was somewhat better than usual. And again, sorry about putting my writing on Hiatus, I felt like if I was going to have bad flow, I might as well make up for it with humor, and the words I tried to write just weren't coming out humorous.
