Geno sighed as he carried his bag of groceries. He truly was a miserable-looking creature. The bags under his eyesockets had bags, it was clear that he hadn't bothered to change his clothes in awhile, he had mysterious bruises, cuts and cracks in his bones, he hardly ever spoke to anyone. Oh, and let's not forget his already half-dead appearance.
He had looked his way ever since he left his fiance, Reaper. Well, minus the half-dead part, he had looked like that before he met Reaper.
He could barely remember the fight, seeing as his mind was trying to prevent him from torturing himself further. All he could recall was that it was a big fight, and Geno had thrown his engagement ring on the ground and stormed over to Edge and Fell's house, where he had remained ever since.
He wanted to go back to Reaper, more than anything, but he had convinced himself that Reaper would never forgive him. Why would Reaper forgive him? Geno was useless, clumsy, a failure, and not to mention temperamental.
Geno imagined that Reaper was over him by now, chances are Reaper had already started something with somebody else. That thought physically hurt him. Picturing Reaper with anyone but himself felt like pure agony.
So you can imagine what happened when this hollow shell of the skeleton he once was quite literally crashed into the one he had spent countless nights thinking about.
Geno didn't realize who it was at first, as he scrambled to pick up the groceries. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I should've look where I was going, I just got lost in-" Geno looked up at the person who he had bumped into and nearly burst into tears.
Reaper seemed to come to the same conclusion at the moment Geno did, because his eyesockets widen with shock. "Geno?!"
Geno looked away from Reaper and quickly picked up the rest of the groceries, knowing that if he looked at Reaper again he'd most definitely start crying.
"... Sorry, I'll go now. You probably don't want me around anyway." He murmured, but only managed to take about two steps before a hand grabbed his wrist and pulled him close.
Reaper gazed at Geno with concerned and panicked 'eyes', and Geno couldn't help but feel as if he didn't deserve Reaper's concern.
"Geno baby... What happened?" Reaper muttered as he gently ran his hand across a particularly deep crack on Geno's skull. Geno felt his eyesockets fill with tears, and he wasn't sure if it was because of the joy he felt to be back in Reaper's arms, or because of the guilt inside him that stung worse than being cut by a knife.
That question was soon answered, however, as Geno began bawling. This seemed to take Reaper by surprise, seeing as Geno very rarely cried.
"I-I'm so-sorry!" Geno sobbed, clinging on to Reaper as if Reaper was Geno's lifeline. "I-I s-shouldn't have- m-my f-fault-" Geno's sobs obscured most of his sentences, only allowing Reaper to catch the occasional word here and there, making everything Geno said sound like total nonsense.
"Hey, hey shhhhhh." Reaper realized that he and Geno were in public, and people were starting to stare, so he teleported (Does Reaper teleport? Or does he do something else? ... Eh, who cares.) Geno back to the apartment they once shared.
Geno continued sobbing, sputtering out nonsense as he did so, Reaper took no time to process the words, too focused on comforting Geno. He laid Geno down on their- his bed.
"C'mon Geno, just breathe for me, alright? It's all okay, just breathe." He soothed, holding Geno close to him. After what seemed like hours Geno finally stopped sobbing, and fell asleep on Reaper.
Reaper rubbed one of his hands on Geno's skull, feeling overjoyed to have Geno with him again. Briefly taking in Geno's appearance once more, Reaper decided that cleaning up Geno's wounds was top priority, at least until Geno woke up. When Geno woke up Reaper wanted to sit and talk about everything, maybe even see if he could salvage the relationship.
Carefully sliding away from Geno, he went and got some supplies, he vaguely recalled Life's instructions on how to use the contents inside a first-aid kit, not that it mattered, since Reaper doubted that Geno needed more than a bit of disinfectant and bandages. After those were applied monster food should heal the rest of it.
There was a few bruises and cracks on Geno's face, but nothing particularly terrible, and it was all quickly bandaged up. After he made sure that he had taken care of every little injury, he headed to Grillby's, where he bought some ketchup. Since the ketchup was monster-made, it had healing properties that would help with the bruises Geno had, and probably put Geno in a good mood.
Reaper knew of Geno's tendencies to bump into things, so he decided that Geno's injuries were most likely caused by Geno tripping or bumping into things and not bothering to tend to any of his injuries, making them worse as time passed. Still, these were an awful lot of injuries for a timespan of two months.
Reaper sighed and placed the ketchup on a table next to the bed, and climbed in himself. He figured if Geno had a problem with Reaper sleeping next to him he'd know that later, but right now he wanted to keep Geno close for as long as he could.
After a small while, if one were to walk into the room all they'd hear is the soft breathing of Reaper and Geno. Assuming they weren't afterdeath shippers holding cameras, in that case a few clicks might be heard.
Part 2? I'm really unsure about this particular oneshot. It was supposed to be an actual story, but I felt like it didn't have a very good plot and I downgraded it to just a oneshot.
