Tartarus
A high-security prison, famed for it's ability to chain down the dealiest and unhinged criminals. The history of this grand architecture is still yet revealed.
Pro Hero Deku, or Izuku Midoriya, was just entering the hellish prison, filled with white ceilings and walls, led by the guards he eventually arrived on a particular door.
Huh...Is this supposed to be a good idea? I don't know.
A name tag is scene on the high upfront of the metallic-steel door.
Midorishi Izuku
The guards retreated slightly as Izuku opened the door. He was greeted by an almost barren room with two sides seperated by a glass mirror, a microphone on the desk front of the mirror.
Turning his eyes onto the other side of the mirror, lies a particular person laced and chained by metal, covered with black straightjacket. A tightly covered person, aside from the person's tense eyebrows he seemed unconcerned on what's happening.
Izuku stared at the figure.
He sat down on one of the chairs, and heard a powered voice.
"You only have five-minutes to talk. Five minutes is forced discharge."
Five minutes..? better make it worth it.
Not wasting anytime, he prepared to speak—
"Why are you here?"
Midorishi growled in distaste, as he stares at Izuku.
I did..arrest him, so that's to be expected.
Izuku huffs at the growl, and silently stared at Midorishi, until he asked a question, "Was it worth it?"
Midorishi stared. Silently. Until he burst onto a euphoric quantity of chuckles, as his raspy voice echoes on the barren white room, "I did that fully knowing I could fail."
...So he knew, yet still cause mayhem
"You killed people, innocent.", Izuku retorted, feeling a tinge of disgust at his villainous counterpart, his heart couldnt shake off on the guilt a version of him did things.
"Innocent be damned.", Midorishi spoke as he grinned manically. Innocents? It doesnt matter, it's simply a foreign concept of what once a childish useless Deku had thought. No innocent decided to help, no innocent decided to held a hand, only the most villainous did.
"Enough about me, how about you?" Midorishi asked with a questioning voice and curiousity peeking out his eyes, a former shell of once a kid holding a notebook with shining eyes.
"I became a hero." Izuku answered with a hopeful voice, as he continued cheerily as a small smile widened in his face, "I met new people. Made friends, made enemies."
"...You mentioned being a successor of that hypocrite." Midorishi states, as his eyes full of nothing but apathy towards his former idol.
"He isn't a hypocrite!" Izuku remarks with a strong resistance, he remembers the vivid memories of him and All-Might onto his eventual tragedy. To Izuku, All-Might isn't just an idol, but it transcends that. He gave him hope and belief when no one could, he was a father to Izuku.
"Stop denying it! We—no I, got my dreams crushed by him. He spoke lies on interviews like it was the truth", Midorishi howled in a furious rage, as the visions of a hero that failed him on a rooftop.
Izuku merely stayed silent, fully knowing he can't convince his counterpart, he eventually continued,
"...I'm the Symbol of Peace."
As he mentioned that, Midorishi's apathy filled eyes turned into belittlement and disrepect, as he quietly remarked, "I don't envy you. In fact, I despise you."
"Why so? You could've been me. You couldve been what we dreamed of, what we thought with out lives off. What are purpose is, Heroes." Izuku states with a soft tone, as he observed his villain counterpart.
"Maybe the old me would've taken it. But not me." Midorishi remarks while continuing a tense and pitying stare at Izuku as he continues, "I'm glad I didnt become you."
"What?! To cause pointless suffering and chaos?! How is that better than becoming a hero?", Izuku shouted in pure distaste and disgust, as he stood up in anger as he smashed his fist onto the desk, not understanding the mind of his villain counterpart,
The arrogance, belittlement, like he is better than he is. He couldn't understand his villain's counterpart mind, does he truly think he's doing it for because it's right? Does he truly think he's greater?
Both so near, yet so far.
Two sides of a coin that are essentially the same, but neither could understand the other.
"Pointless?!" Midorishi howled in pure rage as he struggled getting out of his tight wrapped chains, wanting to strangle his counterpart, "It isn't pointless! It's for the society to change, to be different, it's for the people!"
"That's delusional! All-For-One is just controlling you! He will throw you away once everything is done!" Izuku growls, as he neared his face onto the mirror.
"I know. But so what? He was the one that helped me when no one did, He could help me with society, It doesnt matter the consenquences I'm sticking with him!" Midorishi growls in anger, as he stares at his heroic counterpart in a mix of rage and pity.
"You're disgusting." Izuku remarks as he calms down and looks straight at his counterparts eyes.
"It's for change and society." Midorishi stares intensely before continuing, "You know, you're quite a failure yourself."
Izuku merely stayed silent, letting his counterpart continue.
"You became a carbon-copy of All Might." Midoroshi remarks as he mirthfully laugh and continue, "I realized. Everything is because of All Might, everything. My suffering included."
"That's wrong! Yo—you can't just blame everything on him!" Izuku hisses, but ignored by Midorishi,…
"As All-Might rose into glory, the age of quirks began. The once despised quirks became an eternal composite of life. Quirks decided not just life, but also fate." Midorishi states as he closed his eyes and opened in again, replacing the rage with a mature calmness, as he continue to speak, "The flashier quirks gets the spotlight. The mutant quirks are isolated and harassed. The weak quirks are bottom dwellers of society...us, quirkless people are lesser than even animals. People got self-centered...their ego inflating, their concerns not helping, all because All-Might will save the day right?"
Izuku reeled back in shock, unable to answer his fellow counterpart, as he merely stayed silent.
"Deny all you want. In the end you did become a hero used by society. You saved numerous lives. But you never truly did saved people needed to be saved. Mutant people isolated and harrassed, people with villainous quirks that get isolated and bullied," Midorishi states calmly as he stares at Izuku's eyes, before Izuku felt nothing, it was as if he just saw Midorishi as someone on the wrong road, but now he felt like Midorishi saw something in him. Thinking that he stopped, Izuku released his breath that he didnt realize he was holding, but Midorishi continued, "You never proved quirkless people can be heroes."
Izuku froze in shock, looking for an answer to reject that notion, but he can't...he couldn't..he had One For All.
"Talking time is finished. Leave or be forced to discharge."The guards got in and took Izuku, as Izuku didnt resist, just silently staring at below pondering things unknown to others.
Before leaving the room, Midorishi spoke again, "Once you retire, everything will restart. Suffering is happening. Villainy is an event. All because, of you."
Izuku wanting to turn his head to protest againts that, only to realized that the metallic door was closed. Shaking his head off he tried to remove the whisperings of his counterpart.
He returned back to his friends, but different, he wasn't cheery, he was just silent. Like he realized an inevetible truth. He knows the villain is wrong, he shouldn't be convinced.
But..is he truly right?
Is everything that happened all a mistake?
He was horrified. But a light jab from Uraraka made him wake up on his trance. He smiled at his friends, saying nothing is wrong.
Nothing is wrong indeed, everything is fine.
