(A/N: Well, I've been re-writing "Keswick & Claire" so many times. This one is definitely going to be different from all the other re-writes! Hope you like!)

It was a pleasant autumn night in the city of Petropolis. The weather was cool, but not cold, and everything was nice. Anyway, it's getting too dark for us to really enjoy the scenery, and we're supposed to be checking up on T.U.F.F.'s genius inventor, Keswick. Let's go find him.

We find Keswick at home, feeling unhappy. He got over his short-lived fear of girls, but he's really unlucky when it comes to finding love. Women don't seem to show interest in a guy like Keswick. But he had his good qualities. He was extremely smart and pretty cute, and he wasn't a bad guy, either. So why don't women like him?

The only way Keswick got women to like him easily was when he used a brainwashing device that caused them to like a guy like him. Or if they were robots that he built. But the effects of the brainwashing device never lasted for long, and R.I.T.A. and the Lady Keswick were both complete failures. The relationships that he somehow managed to get on his own were ruined by his mom, or for some other reason (sometimes it was simply 'just because').

Right now, his latest love, Tammy the secretary (who liked him for saving her life), called off their relationship, but she assured Keswick that they could still be friends. This one had been Keswick's own fault, though, but it taught him an important lesson. He learned that girls really don't like it when you are hopelessly obsessed with them and take your obsession to new levels of major creepiness. And Tammy was none too pleased when she found out. Either way, it did stop Keswick from obsessing over Tammy, so he agreed to being just friends with her, even though he'd been hoping that their love would blossom into something more.

So at this moment, Keswick wondered why he couldn't find love. Most importantly, he wondered if his mom loved him enough to let him find the right girl. He felt like he'd never be loved, and right now, that's what he wanted; to find a girl to love, and to be loved by her in return.

"Why is it that every time I f-f-find love on my own, something always happens to r-r-ruin it? That's enough to force me to give up on l-l-love! But I want love! I j-j-just wish there was someone... Someone I d-d-didn't have to build or brainwash..." Keswick said to himself. That's all he ever wanted once he realized that girls are nothing to be afraid of, especially since there were quite a few working at T.U.F.F., and they were not bad.

"Maybe someday I'll g-g-get lucky and find someone that Mom won't ruin my ch-ch-chances with. Someone who'll never l-l-leave me. Someone that I won't have to invent... or even b-b-brainwash." Keswick said with a sigh. He then went to bed, dreaming of the day that he would find a woman who could love him, regardless of his mom, and without being brainwashed into doing so. And he sure didn't want it to be a robot, either. He gave up on robotic girls a long time ago.

Meanwhile, over in a rich neighborhood in Petropolis...

There was a large, stately mansion in which lived a non-snobbish family of rich semi-Keswicks. They had the appearance of a Keswick, except they didn't go through different stages at different points in their lives, and they weren't aliens. The only people living in the mansion were a husband and wife, and their only child, a daughter they named Claire.

The family sat in the living room, watching T.V. Okay, tell a lie; Claire's mom and dad were watching T.V., and Claire was reading the "Want" ads in the newspaper, looking for a job that she could do. Sure, she was rich and didn't need to work for a living, but she liked to be independent, so she wanted to go out and do something useful with her life. Plus, it might help her make friends who would like her for who she was.

Claire didn't have any real friends because of her riches. That, and the fact that there was no one her age around in her neighborhood. There were no kids around when she was a kid herself. But it was her riches that made finding a friend difficult. As soon as anyone found out that she was a rich girl, they only saw dollar signs when they looked at her. The same went for boys who asked her out. Only thing is, Claire turned them all down, not wanting to be associated with people who only liked her for what she had.

"Hmm... this looks promising..." Claire said almost to herself at one point as she read the paper.

"What is it, sweetie?" Claire's mother asked, having heard her daughter.

"The Turbo Undercover Fighting Force, T.U.F.F. for short, is looking for more genius inventors. It sounds like something I could do." Claire said, showing her parents the ad.

"Well, you did make your very own motorcycle, and you keep it running perfectly. I think a girl who can do that would do well as a genius inventor over there. I say you should go for it!" Claire's dad said.

"I will, Daddy. But I'll have to do it tomorrow, 'cause it's kinda late, and I'm sure that they're already closed for the night." Claire said.

"Okay, then. In which case, you should probably go upstairs and get to bed. You'll want to be up bright and early so you can get there at a decent hour." Claire's mom said.

"I was just about to do that. If I want morning to get here soon, then I'd best get my butt to bed." Claire said. She kissed her parents good night before making her way upstairs to her room and going to bed, falling asleep almost immediately.

So Keswick's alone and hoping for love, and Claire's thinking of applying for a job at T.U.F.F., working as another genius inventor. This should lead to Keswick and Claire meeting one another! Stay tuned to see what happens next!
