When a chance at redemption finds Reno working as a covert bodyguard for a beautiful lounge singer, Reno assumes it will be an easy chance to prove that he's ready to get back in the game. Zack and Cloud attend a fancy party for one of Zack's professors, but early into the night Cloud is left to his own devices. In the safety of the kitchen he meets another awkward partygoer. Afterward his evening gets significantly better.

AU, Tifa has been preparing herself to finally let Cloud know how she feels after all this time but when the world shifts under her feet and she doesn't know what to do Rufus is there with a plan to liven up the evening. The more we change the more we stay the same?

To think this was what Genesis had been reduced to. Skulking around in an abandoned warehouse with nothing to do but guard Hollander's machines and quote Loveless to the dust motes.
