Alecto Learns The Alphabet Using Rice

A is for arborio, a type of medium grain rice that is very creamy. Make big creamy mass when Mommy cooks it, then make cream streaks when brother licks wall.

B is for bahia, a type of rice that comes from Spain. Because no one expects the Spanish rice inquisition!

C is for chelo, a Persian food made with golden crusted rice grains. And golden rice is very very good because is shiny! *nibbles shiny rice crust*

D is for Dewie Srie, the Indonesian goddess of rice. But I think that's wrong because Mommy said I'm the goddess of rice!

E is for enriched rice. That mean rice with extra nutrients for people like Dragon's shadow baby who throw up a lot.

F is for fried rice. This cooked rice with eggs, little piggie meats, and yucky vegetables. Abolish the vegetables! *shoves vegetables in pants then throws them in the furnace* There. All gone.

G is for glue. Glue can be made by boiling ground rice. Can also be used to stick rice together for making tower. So rice on rice! *giggles sweetly and builds a rice tower nine miles high*

H is for honda. Honda means 'main rice field'. But they is all main important to me.

I is for ice cream. Because rice can be used to make ice cream! Maybe this only kind of rice I'll eat.

J is for jobless. In Singapore, if you have no job, that called 'broken rice bowl'. But if you have good job, they call that 'iron rice bowl'. Mommy is a Malfoy so we have thirty different kinds of rice bowls, both licked and unlicked. But where are my rice wipes?

K is for kin khao. In language of Thai, that means eating rice. But I'd rather play with rice, not for eating.

L is for luck. Rice a symbol of good luck in Asian countries. *tosses some rice into the air* Hooray! Lucky, lucky!

M is for manoomin. That name given to wild rice by native American tribes, meaning precious grain. Maybe that why I like rice, because Mommy always says I'm precious, so I is just like rice.

N is for nigiri. These Panese rice balls wrapped in seaweed. But why all Quico's rice balls square?

O is for O-himach. This big rice harvesting festival in Japan. Mommy took me there for my birthday last year. I still has rice leftover. *holds up rice filled baggie* Souvenir!

P is for paper. Rice can be used make paper. They use special plant called 'rice paper tree', a small Asian shrub. This only kind of paper that Mommy let's me eat. *nibbles rice paper*

Q is for Queen of Rice. That me!

R is for rijsttafel. This Dutch word meaning 'rice table'. *hides under rice table and stacks more rice*

S is for sake. This adult drink that Japanese make from fermented rice. I think I saw leaf lady drinking this.

T is for Tauchiko. This rice planting ritual in Japan. Mommy let me see how they plant rice after the rice harvesting festival.

U is for university. There is a rice university in the states. Maybe I teach there because they don't want me at Hogwarts no more.

V is for variety. Did you know rice can be used for many things? Like in soup, salad, desserts, drinks and this icky, smelly stuffs they call vinegar. It also make good toy, nest for sleeping, rice sock for warms, and for play friends like Julia and Robert.

W is for wine. Chinese make wine from rice. I think I saw leaf lady drinking this too, out of her bathtub.

X is fo O. Letters I spell for Mommy using rice. That say kiss hug kiss hug, because my Mommy is extra nice and loves me whole lots.

Y is for yakimochi. This Japanese rice cake. But does it come in chocolate?

Z is for zizania palustris. This Latin name of wild rice. Hmm... *waves wand* Zizania Palustris! *conjures a large pile of rice and dives into it*
