Chapter 1: In the Beginning

In the beginning, long before the rebellion led by Lucifer that caused him to be cast out of heaven, there was another Angel that was cast out. He was not like the rest, he was not a child of God and the Goddess of Creation like the others were. He was special, God's most favorite Angel, and needless to say the eldest children of God weren't too pleased. So the more bitter of the eldest children attacked him, making it seem like the other way around though as a way to frame the other Angel. In the end there had just been too much evidence for God to see reason, so the Angel was cast out of Heaven. Doomed to be the Angel of the Fallen, the protector of mankind, and secretly the destined mate of the Devil when the moment arises. Though he would have to wait a couple millennia for humans, as he had landed on earth during the time of the dinosaurs.

Millennia after millennia passed as the Angel lived on earth, caring for people and keeping those that were pure as pure as they could. He would hide whenever a celestial came to earth, not wanting a repeat of what happened his last day in heaven. He kept his wings hidden, promising that they would never see the light of day unless it was necessary and it never was. He grew feelings for people, only to be saddened when it came to be their time to die and move on to a better place. It was a torturous existence to say the least, the love and then have it snatched away from him in the blink of an eye. The only comfort he had was knowing that maybe he made their lives a bit more magical and full of love than they would've been without him. As minimal as that comfort was sometimes it still counts as well as the fond memories he has of humans.

Though there were also quite depressing memories that go along with the fond ones. As the Angel of the Fallen he has witnessed the rise and fall of many species, dynasties, and lives. He remember's anything that ever was and will most likely remember everything that ever will happen. And sadly no species ever really learns from the one that came before them. Sure the human's have done a good job of evolving and making the world more inhabitable. However with every advancement they make it seems like a new problem comes along with it. The angel had no idea if this was God's plan for humans or if it was just human nature to have joy co-exist with pain. What he did know is that some things that the humans did to one another was extremely cruel and watching it happen hurt.

Watching the once good people be riddled with sin and greed and lust to the point of self destruction made his skin crawl. Watching as the home forced upon him is slowly corrupted and destroyed sickened him to no end. And the fact that he cannot intervene with this process made him feel oh so very horrible. Doomed to be the protector of mankind yet he cannot protect them from themselves. He cannot protect them from the hardships and heartache that they bring upon themselves every day. Only by the "grace" of God has he been able help those in need to survive and thrive for as long as possible. Just barely though as God just sits back in the silver city, watching with indifference and intervening only when he deems it necessary.

Though with all of the attention God gave them he would think that they were God's favorite creation. Yet it also seemed like he went out of his way to interfere with their lives constantly. Most of said interference's were extremely subtle but other's the angel noticed right away. For example Adam and Eve, the punishment of Lilith, and Cain never being able to die to name a few. He had been there, in secret, experiencing it all with them whilst staying out of the way. After all he really didn't want to get in trouble again. However he highly doubted any punishment would be worse than the hell he's already experiencing. He still had to be careful though as he really does not want to talk to God or any of his emissaries.

So far that avoiding other celestial's thing has been working out great for him. They never come to earth unless sent by God himself or if they have a job that involves humans. However when they do come to earth it is quite easy to tell them apart from the humans. What with the elegant robes, armor, and or regular human clothes with the accompaniment of angel wings. Plus it now helps that the human's have evolved enough to the point that a divine being can hide in plain sight. So long as they don't do anything like kill a human or engage in a battle of divine beings. As it was now 2016 and by now the angel had made a good life for himself with people who dare he say accept him.

Sure they do not know about his divine heritage but it's better if they don't. Some human's have not been known to accept what is considered unordinary. The Salem Witch Trials were evidence enough of how some human's react to that sort of stuff. Sure human's in 2016 were different, more accepting of things, but the world really isn't ready for the knowledge of divinity existing. So for now he'll stick with what he has cause in the end he was happy and the people he cared about were happy. To the angel that was enough, and he'd be damned if he would let anyone mess that up. He did try his best for the family that had made him feel so welcome, the Decker family. However as depressing as it is, he can only do so much when those he cares for are staring into the eyes of death.

Like always though after sadness always comes the joy that human's bring. One Decker life may have been lost but another life had been brought into the world by Decker's daughter. A little baby girl who even in her first breaths was nothing but sweet and a ray of sunshine. Little Trixie, and the angel made a promise then and there to protect her from the dangerous world for as long as he could. After all life was precious, and it was moments like this that made the Angel of the Fallen see why God paid so much attention to the humans. They are truly wondrous creations full of mystery and many emotions that can be confusing to witness. However in the end those emotions were necessary, and no matter how confusing they are they are also beautiful to witness. The angel could never get tired of it, no matter how much heart ache he experiences because of it.

Wolfie: I do not own anything related to Lucifer. All I own is my oc and all plot alterations I use to add him into the story. You'll get a more in-depth introduction of my character later on. Right now I just wanted to give a quick backstory/prologue of sorts. So sorry if it seems so short and rushed when it comes to reading it. Now this is not Deckstar, sorry to those of you who really like Lucifer x Chloe. There are just too many of those kinds of stories and not enough of Lucifer x Oc stories. Anyways please read, review, I hope you like the book so far, and don't hate me for writing out the Deckstar pairing.
