Chapter 1
Origins
The room was well lit with numerous aesthetically placed ornate magic fueled chandelier and tapestry illustrating the illustrious history of the kingdom. Along the center of the room a young female around the age of five with sea-foam green hair and lively green eyes in a red shoulder less dress who was bowing to two seated individuals as well as suave gentleman who was standing off to the side. This girl was different from any other in the kingdom. In fact it was due to the fact that this girl had horns that grew sprouted from her head, thus showing at least one half of parental heritage. She was a Farian, well technically a Half-Farian. Something that did not please most of the occupants of the majestic room, most notably the regal seated female.
Next to the woman who happened to be glaring daggers the child before them rested an equally regal looking man. He wore his velvet robes and ornate crown dutifully despite his advancing years. Unlike his companion he wore a smile towards the Half-Farian which was shared by the receiver. The rest of the castle tolerated the girl's presence only because of her father and the kingdom itself didn't even know of her existence as she was to be kept secret. The reason was because the kingdom did not hold the country of Faria, the home the Farian race, in high regard be it wars between the two, envy of the longevity, or their abundant resources which allow them to be self-sufficient.
"Princess Wynsys, thank you for coming her on such short notice," the suave gentleman said to which the girl held back her sense of disgust for the man. "Our king, His Highness King Valtos summoned you to share news of great importance to the Kingdom of Balandor." The now named king nodded toward his servant and rose to his feet to approach the kneeling child.
"My child, today I have been informed of wonderous news." He began softly and affectionately toward his daughter, something which made his companion again sneer. "You will soon have a little sister so I expect you to look after her and be good big sister to her." This made the others in the room overjoyed as they now had someone they could rely on to the take the place of the king when the time comes. They knew that the kingdom would not acknowledge Wynsys, especially since they have been hiding her from the realm. Nor could they use the boy both the king and queen adopted though his hatred for the Farian race was something members of the castle actively encouraged.
"I understand father," she rose her head to meet his eyes. "When the time comes I will be her bow that strikes down her enemies." This comment pleased the woman greatly as she now had a servant for her expected child and while the servant remained expressionless inwardly he frowned as he did not apricate this unknown variable. For now he nodded as he had to plan for something to remove the half-blood child before she became a problem. Wynsys lowered her gaze again before speaking again, "if I may be excused I must prepare to be the best sister I can be for your heir."
The king did not expect this reaction however he announced his approval. With his permission the girl rose to her feet and was escorted out of the throne room and towards the main hall where they encountered a young boy with a slender frame and blonde hair.
"If it isn't the little half breed. It amazes me how they still let something like you live in the castle." The boy spat out as they came into contact with one another.
"Indeed, it is a wonder why someone who could look so adorable would act like such a beast," the girl responded in a bored tone. "It matters not as father now has a legitimate heir and unlike you I will train to be of use to them." Without another word she the fuming child alone as she made her way to a less than welcoming doorway. The guards removed the locks and gestured for her to go in as they did every time she made her way back to her living quarters in the castle.
Wynsys had become accustomed to this treatment. With a sigh she walked through the doorway which led to a long spiraling stairway that led up several flights. This too had become the norm since she would typically ascend and descend the tower's stairs when she wasn't studying or being summoned by her father because her 'mother' never did. It was actually her 'mother's' idea to put her in this tower to isolate her from the castle staff. The only light that ever made its way to the spiraling staircase was the from the first floor of the castle, which held the entrance the dungeon below next door, and the light from the single window that was the top of the tower that was also her room.
As the Half-Farian rounded the final bend the darkness gave way to dim light as the day was nearing its end. Wynsys entered her room and promptly seated herself at her makeshift desk, which she considered herself lucky to even had that since the only person in the castle that tolerated her was the king, her father, never mind the fact that he had never made the trip here. If he had she suspected that her room would be more accommodating. Pushing that thought aside she opened the book she had used to make notes about events that have occurred in the kingdom.
"It is nearly time when things will begin," the isolated princess said softly to herself. When she began writing about a year ago she noticed the written language was much different from the one she had known. She indeed had been born in Balandor due to the union of a Farian Emissary and the King but before her arrival to this realm was a 30-something year old woman who had otaku like tendencies and tastes. She never thought she would have been isekai-ed into a world she was knowledgeable about. It wasn't because of Truck-kun, a random book summoning, a spell gone wrong or anything of that nature. No, she got Darko-ed, meaning a falling jet engine saw to it she was no longer among the living in that world.
Since she had arrived she had being living as her player character, her avatar, with her own back story. Somethings were off but the majority of her head cannon has occurred. That being said she had taken every opportunity to prepare as much as she could since she spent most of time confined to her tower cell/room. "Ok let's recount what happens before every begins." Wynsys states as she begins to writes notes before realizing she needs make a light source soon otherwise it would become troublesome to write. With a groan the Half-Farian pushes her stool back and retrieves a warped candle stand from the equally shoddy book shelf with the few personal items she had as well as the appropriately named book "Beginner's Guide to the Elements."
With Candleholder ready she attempted to light it with a match she had acquired from the castle staff. A few attempts later and she had light. Thankful for the light she retook her seat and began to list off the seemingly 'random' events that are predestined to happen. "Relations will continue to be bad with Faria and Balandor for the better part of 18 years due to previous experiences and the impending attack in the near future. 'Mister perfect gentleman' is perfect but a lying backstabber and enemy informant who methodically plans for the heroes to travel, battle, and get stronger but will not reveal himself until the end of their journey. Brother dearest retains his prejudice of the Farian people, the nation has toxic view of us but they Wargs, beast people, and Papitaurs, small bunny folk, as lesser beings though that doesn't stop them from eyeing the female wargs, basically cat girls. And I'll be forced to join the heroes but later."
With those thoughts spoken aloud Wynsys yawned as another not so eventful day passed by. The isolated princess had every intention to study more about her wind elemental affinity but reasoned that if she could not focus then it might create problems she did not want to deal with. The young girl blew out the candle on her poor desk and felt around for her equally horrible bed. Wynsys sighed as she long ago resigned herself to the poor living conditions she was provided by the queen and the rest of the castle staff. A quick realization occurred to her as remembered she hadn't changed her clothes.
"It's not like I have a lot of options for clothing," Wynsys muttered to herself as her consciousness was fading. "Note to self... begin archery training." And like that the isolated princess was fast asleep.
