It was a beautiful spring afternoon in the park, Danny laid on his side with his head propped up on an elbow as he read a book. On the picnic blanket next to him was Kara and 4 month old Frankie.
The two were both fast asleep and softly snoring. He looked up from his book and smiled, a year ago if someone had said he'd be married with a child? He would've laughed in their face. But now, he was living the reality and couldn't imagine anything better than spending a lazy Sunday afternoon in the park with his wife and son.
"Mmm. I told you not to watch me while I sleep." Kara murmured sleepily before she yawned and stretched out her limbs.
"My book was boring." Danny said, she smiled as they both knew it was a lie.
"What's the time?" She asked.
"Around 3pm." he said.
"Good, I don't want to move yet." Kara said, as they knew they'd have to leave at 4pm to get home to freshen up for the barbecue party Tex was holding. "Did I tell you that I love you, today?" she asked.
"Not that I can recall." Danny lied, she smiled.
"I love you." she said, the words thrilled and soothed him every time she said them.
"I love you too." he replied.
