Chapter 1.

Location: Earth Africa year 2025

"Do you really need this music blaring this loud Chris I swear one of these days your gonna end up deaf I know you like your music but please turn it down a smidge"

The female voice said annoyed with the blaring sound of heavy rock playing in the jeep as the driver chucked to her complaint.

"ahh come on it ain't that bad jeez plus I thought you liked Slipknot? Don't tell me you've gotten back into that dance crap again have you Jess? " Chris said chuckling to himself still keeping an eye on the path ahead.

After a few hours driving through thick jungles Chris pulls over observing his phone thinking then looking at his satnav with a confused expression, turning to jess he says "Are you sure we are at the right location? I know these weird ruins we supposed to be here but so far all I can see is a dozen trees rocks and the odd jungle critter. "

Just as confused as he is jess took a lock at her report sheets then the satnav thinking.

"yeah they should be here unless there nearby past all this foliage and crap"

Getting out of the jeep Chris stretchs then reads himself grabbing his bag and gear before turning to jess

"whelp guessing we go on foot now have a check if these ruins are nearby? Coming with?"

She sighs then ready herself before pausing eye widen as stares at Chris.

"What's with the gun?" she points at the Revolver on his hip. " you planning on killing me in these ruins just cause I don't like your choice of music" she chuckles walking up next to him.

"oh totally that's what I'm gonna do hah no we're in a jungle who knows what nasty creatures can pop up" Chris shrugs as they both walk into the depts of the jungle.

Three hours later…

"I'm gonna assume these old piles of rock and rubble is what we are looking for owh! Stupid bugs"

Chris smacks his arm trying to get rid of pesky fly's nipping at him when jess walks over chuckling to herself when she looks over her notes.

"I believe so Chris from what other witnesses have said these are the ruins, still odd why something like this is in Africa the way it looks like it could easily be mistaken for something old ancient Egyptians could of made" she says as she grabs her torch from her backpack and signals Chris to join her as she nears the entrance.

He nods as he joins her entering the ruins they see the markings of what is believed to be ancient African tribal symbols before getting deeper into the ruins Chris hears the faint noise of something mechanical.

"did you hear that? "

He said resting a hand near his revolver in case, with jess noticing his new stance she looks around but seeing anything that could of made said sound.

"I don't see anything out of the ordinary could possibly be other people deeper in the ruins?" She says but Chris is still skeptical as they still move deeper the same noise is heard again this time a little closer Chris's hand still resting her his gun.

"We are getting pretty deeper now what you think we will find here? Treasure ancient African art? " Chris says as they both reach a large open area which looked like it was originally some kind of castle like dinning room Jess staring around in pure awe.

"wow just wow this place is beautiful so much beau.. Huh? Oh well from my notes this is as deep as it gets there a few small rooms over there but they seem to resemble small bedroom slash office like rooms" Jess says but she to awestruck at what they have found. With a lite chuckle Chris can see jess is to focused on ancient room they are in so Chris decides to take a little look around himself still confused at what made that noise from earlier.

"Hmm"

Chris thinks out loud walking up to what looks like an old stone like throne next to them two entrances one filled with rubble so no way getting in there the other partially full with rubble but with a little squeeze Chris thinks he should be able to fit through.

"Hey Jess help me over can you? "

Chris says as he drops his backpack to side seeing if he can squeeze through but realizes he may need to move a few of the debris. "ohh? Found something I see Chris" jess says rejoining Chris to see what he's found.

Moving rocks aside with the help of jess Chris is able to slip through the cracks to see what is hidden but instead is met with a weak floor which is already half cracked crumbling under his feet sending Chris down dark abyss.

"CHRIS!!" Jess screams as all she can see if Chris one second moving pass the debris then next falling down after hearing the crumbling of the old floor under Chris feet fall apart leaning over a little she try's to see if she can spot her friend but sadly no luck.

"CHRIS!! ARE YOU OK" She shouts again hoping to hear him respond with a yes or a grunt anything but unknown to her the rubble she's leaning on isn't the most secure and with a quick snap the rubble under her gives away sending her down the hole were Chris went also.

"Fuck ugh that wasn't Fun" grunting to himself while still laying on his back Chris rubs his head slowly getting up before getting startled by the loud screaming which is jess who comes falling down land on top of him.

"AHH!! Really of all the places to land had to be on me" Chris grunts as he helps jess of him as he gets up to observe his surroundings.

"Well I'm sorry I wasn't planning on falling down a dark hole in the ground must say thanks for the comfy landing" Jess smirked but then joining Chris in looking around at there new location torches at the ready as they proceed to explore the new area.

"Where hell are we? These weren't reported to be part of the ruins plus they look less ancient rocky walls and more rusty looking metal walls now" Jess says confused while following Chris as he takes point observing the walls noticing the odd details in the metallic walls.

"No clue looks odd plus look at these cable like structures in wall we're do these lead? " Chris said as he points directly to the wall showing what looks like large metallic pipe like cables leading down the corridor.

As they make there way deeper into new area of the ruins the metallic noise Chris heard goes off again this time louder. "Whatever that noise is its nearby so stay close" Chris says his hand resting firmly near his gun as jess nods in response stay close behind him as they move up ahead and pass what looks like a door that opens up when they approach what they see next has both gob smacked.

"holy shit what is this place its like something from one of those old Sci-fi shows like Star trek or something"

Jess says as both her and Chris observe the massive room in front of them filled to the brim with unknown technology that neither of them have seen.

"They look like Tombs but metallic and this is some kind of computer I think" Jess say as her curiosity gets the best of her as she investigates the mysterious Tomb like capsules then making her way to what looks like a ancient computer like item and starts trying to turn it on.

"Hey hey what you doing you don't know what this thing does it cou…. What is that noise? " Chris says as he trys to stop jess messing with the computer like item but is to late as a metallic echo like alarm goes off, Panicking both jess and Chris look to see we're the source of the alarm is coming from to see if they can disable it unknown to them they ain't alone as deep in the ruins past the giant chamber they are in a giant grotesque humanoid bug like creatures awakes from a deep slumber from a pod that opened at the sound of the alarm and is now on the move.

"Jess come on we need to stop this noise do something as I can't see anything that can stop the noise"

Chris says as he rummages around looking for something anything to stop the noise, panicking jess looks to see if the computer can somehow stop the noise but without knowing how to use the device properly she was not successful but what she did do was somehow manage to open one of the tomb like pods showing what looked like a type of sci-fi like bed of some sort.

"Chris nothings happening all I managed to do was open these tomb looking things but no… " her sentence was cut short when a sharp flesh bone like claw slash itself at her back as she then screamed in pain as the figure that caused her injury was revealed.

"JESS!! WOW what the fuck is that!? " Chris said as he rushed to get hold of his friend who had a deep claw mark on back drenched in blood, looking up he held his revolver up at the grotesque alien creature shaking a lil.

"S.Stop there fucker we mean no harm there was n.no need in hurting my friend" Chris says to the creature who just looks at him head twitching slightly looking at both Chris and jess, it's claws dripping with blood still it moves towards them still twitching slightly.

"HEY BACK THE FUCK AWAY I WILL SHOOT!! "

Chris shouts aiming his gun still at the creature, jess standing there growing weak from blood loss from her wound falls to the ground tired.

"J.Jess you okay..Fuck Stay ba..SHIT!!"

Chris says as when jess collapses the creature uses this moment to strike lunging at Chris with its sharp claws luckily for Chris he is able to counter the attack but drops his gun in the process and is now in close combat with the creature, Great now how the fuck do I deal with this fucker, he thinks as he graples with grotesque figure.

With the figure overpowering Chris its able dig its claws in his arm dealing a small cut but nothing to serious, obviously still weak and noticing Chris is loosing the fight she crawls towards chris's Revolver grabbing it to help assist her friend she slowly stands up aiming the weapon.

"H.Hey you ugly son of bit.bitch!! Taste lead"

She says as the creature turns slightly it's 4 yellow eyes gazing at the woman it's head twitching as two rounds land into the creature one in its shoulder and one its chest, the creature staggers back loosing its grip on Chris.

One more round is fired land in the creatures other shoulder but all it does is anger the creature more as with a bug like screech it charges at jess swinging it huge arm knocking her back into the computer like device making it beep with more menacing noise next all is heard in the distance is the sound of more screeching, looking at his friend all Chris could think was she's in no state to fight picking up his revolver knowing he's got three rounds left he grabs his knife from its holster on his leg as he goes in for the attack.

"Hey ugly I ain't finished with you yet"

Chris screams getting the creatures attention, he raises his gun fires the last three rounds one hitting the creature in the neck the other straight through one of its four eyes and the last round grazing the side of its head but this time the creature was hurt with a dark purplish black liquid poured from the wound on its busted eye Chris knew it was hurt and now was his chance to try and finish it.

Don't worry jess I got you Chris thought his knife at the ready he grabbed a nearby metallic plate like item to use as a makeshift Shield he bashed the makeshift shield into the creatures gut then followed up with a swift strike with his knife at the creatures face with no success, the creature retaliated by crashing it arm down on Chris's makeshift shield denting it causing Chris to stumble.

During there fight still dazed jess comes to she try's to see if she can find anything usable to help Chris fight this thing, she smiles as she finds what looks like a sharp rusted pipe shard on the group mixed with the rubble she grabs it then moves towards the creature.

Tough son of a bitch ain't you why won't you die Chris thinks as he struggles as the creature slams into him with a powerful swing of its arm, laying facedown Chris accepts this is how he's gonna die some ancient grotesque alien cockroach blood dripping from his nose and mouth, he awaits his demise but all he hears is the blood gurgling sounds of the creature as chris turns seeing jess stab it in the head with the metal pipe shard she found.

The creature falls to floor dead both jess and Chris panting heavily as jess joins Chris but drops her wounds still serious plus with the addition of the gut wound she received from the creatures last attack on her, looking at her phone jess shows Chris she's got one bar of signal so she try's to call 911 to try get hold of anyone but with the weak signal nothing good but hopefully with what message she leaves they get hold of it.

"jess we need to get you out of here your loosing to much blood I can only patch you up as best as I can with what I got" Chris says as he uses his shirt as a makeshift bandage to stop her bleeding as best as he can, jess smiles coughing also but she knows her wounds are to serious and she will die long before they live the ruins.

"Chr.Chris don't be stupid look at me there's no way I able to move without causing more injury to myself just go get out of this dump" Jess says coughing still this time coughing up blood, but before Chris can respond multiple loud screeching noises can be heard close by quickly grabbing his revolver he loads it with fresh rounds and and ready the weapon looking in his and jess's bags he trys something to use as a weapon but finds three grenades he looks up at jess confused.

"h.hey y.you never know when a large entrance needs to be opened" she chuckles blood dripping from her mouth.

The screeching noises continue as they get near every so slowly, jess looks over to the tomb like pod and signals Chris as she grabs the Grenades "the p.pod tomb thing hide in there Chris I already signaled for help with my phone as long as one of us gets ou…"

Jess says as her coughing stops her talking, Chris looks in shock as he try's to contemplate jess's plan shaking his head. "are you crazy you will die those things will kill you? "

Chris says still shocked at jess's plan, she let's out a weak chuckle as she yanks the revolver out of chris's hand.

"please go Chris take the bag also in there is a camera with photos and these ruins now please" Jess says as she reaches her bloodied hand up cupping his cheek, Chris lowering his head as he can't believe he is even planning on going through with this before he can speak jess says "And don't worry these ancient bug bastards won't get me alive so please go for fuck sake or I will shoot you myself"

Feeling dread and guilt rising in his stomach Chris runs to the other side of the room we're the open pod is but beforehand a second alarm goes off this time with what sounds like a voiced alert but in a unknown language..

!! Indoctrinated presences in area all non-indoctrinated personal please make your way to your nearest stasis pod Neutron purge is gonna start in approximately 60 seconds!!

The message that goes off for which both jess and Chris are unable to understand loops before Chris decides entering the pod closing but before he's able to close the pod himself the pod shuts on itself.

"Fuck Fuck what the hell gah how do I open this" Chris bangs on the pod door as the message continues its loop as jess still laying on the floor smiles as she thinks to herself, be safe Christian she looks up seeing two figures both the same as the grotesque creature her and Chris both killed, in the pod all Chris can hear is a voice in pod speaking an unknown language as he try's to get out of the pod before he hears gunshots 3 rounds but then a shaking sensation as a Loud explosion is heard and next the noise and what seems to be crumbling debris.

"what the actual fuck shit shit shit" Chris panicked wondering how today turned from what was a normal exploration gig to discovering Hidden hostile alien cockroach's, but soon Chris realized he was growing tired and in a matter of minutes the stasis pod that Chris was in came into action freezing Chris in place till he was either discovered by the authorities that jess managed to contact or by someone else.

150 years later…

Location Earth Africa Year 2175

" Doctor V'naana we found something here these ruins there's something down in here below all this rubble" said the human female as she looks at data on her omni tool.

"hmm well Diana if there's something down there then why you waiting for get me a way down this rubble now"

Treina V'naana said as the asari rubbed her forehead thinking as Diana runs of doing her job, if there was something down there she wanted to see what it was, her love for archaeology has sent travelling around planet to planet searching for old history on various races from turian salarian even volus and now she was on earth with her team digging on what she thinks is an ancient human temple like ruin.

"Miss V'naana? We umm your gonna want to see this" the voice of one of her team said, Treina looked up at her colleague a young female quarian who looks like she had a dirt bath with her entire suit covered in dust and mud.

"Faela was it sorry I loose track of everyone's name lately its been one of those days hah what have you found"

She joins the quarian as Faela leads them both to the site showing that they have been able to make a dent and are able to push through the rubble, she looks around at her team and at the entrance they were able to make thanks to a few laser cutters and heavy hammers.

" Well good job everyone now the fun part I'm gonna need to take a team of me plus two others to go down and look around so Diana Faela? You both up for some exploration? plus Faela I could use your Drones Light incase our torches short out as we got no idea how large it is down there" she smiles as she readys herself as her two teamates both nod and ready themselves also as they all enter the dark ruins below.
