Yet Another Heartbreak

By the time Caitlyn got home she was cold and soaking wet from the rain. But that didn't bother her that much. Sure, logically she knew that she should get herself warmed up as quickly as possible but that didn't seem to matter right now.

She kept repeating Vi's words in her head.

"Oil and water. Wasn't meant to be." The words kept ringing in her head. She didn't want to believe it. Not after what they've been trough for the last few days. Not after what happened just hours earlier.

She shut her eyes tight to prevent tears from escaping as she remembered those moments.

Her and Vi curled up on her bed. Vi holding her hand so gently. How strong yet comforting her grip was, how her hand felt so right in her own. The way they looked at each other. Eyes flickering from their hands, to their lips to their eyes.

"Caitlyn." Caitlyn's name was but a whisper on Vi's lips.

"Yeah?" The sharpshooters eyes were fixed on Vi's lips like a target. Then she saw it form into that cocky smirk that she's become so familiar with over the past few days.

Vi sat up and flipped over so she was face to face with Caitlyn, "I never thought I'd be in bed with a Topsider. Much less an Enforcer."

Caitlyn blushes and a few days ago she'd have been a stuttering mess. But now she finds the words... flattering. They still make her heart beat a hundred miles a minute but this time she isn't pushing that feeling away.

"If it makes you feel any better, I'm technically not an Enforcer anymore." The space between then got smaller and smaller.

"Then..." Vi licked her lips, "Could you give me a little taste Cupcake?"

Caitlyn chuckled. That had to be the weirdest way of asking for a kiss that she's ever heard. Not that she's heard many. And it was such a Vi thing to say.

Both of them leaned in further, eyes closing as their lips came into contact with each other. Vi's lips feel rough and yet soft against her own. And when Vi pushes just a little bit, her hand cupping Caitlyn's cheek as a tongue lightly parts her lips, Caitlyn can't help the sigh that escapes her.

Caitlyn wants to pull her closer, so close that there's no space left between them. Wants to pull Vi on top of her, to let her hands map out every muscle of the brawlers body, to see Vi when she's completely undone. But they have a Council meeting to prepare for.

With as much self control as she can muster she pushes on Vi's shoulders gently, her tongue flicking over that damn attractive cut on Vi's upper lip as they part.

Vi groans as their lips part, eager for more, chasing Caitlyn's lips with her own.

"Easy there. Are you always this quick to jump into bed with women?" Actually Caitlyn is just as eager, of not more so.

"Only really pretty ones. Like you Cupcake." Vi can't help but smirk at the blush she sees on Caitlyn's face. She can never get tired of that.

"Well... there's no time for that now. We have to prepare our case to the Council." But how she wished they had time. And judging by the deep, darker hue of Vi's eyes so did she, "We'll have plenty of time for... other things tonight. If... if you still want to."

Vi gets a big dopey grin on her face, one that edges itself into Caitlyn's mind forever, "Sounds like a date to me." Caitlyn gives her a wink, her strong arms wrapping around Caitlyn's body and pulling her close, "Looking forward to it." She mumbled into Caitlyn's dark blue hair.

Caitlyn felt tears spill from her eyes as the memory replayed in her mind over and over. Vi was supposed to be here. They were supposed to be happy. To be together. Instead Vi is gods know where and she's here, now shivering from the cold.

She shook her head. She really did have to go and take a shower before she got sick. Maybe afterwards she'd be able to gather her thoughts a bit better.
