Hello and welcome to a Homestuck Fanfic of mine. Allow me to go over the basics here before you continue.
1: I DO NOT own anything of Homnestuck. That property belongs to Andrew Hussie.
2: The only thing I own of the story/fanfic is the OC's (Of which you will see in a bit as a I work on the story) and the concept that I have/will be making throughout the story.
3: This Fanfic is a AU, so many things that we all know of the franchaise are bound to either change, altered, or scratched entirely.
4: The story is set in the Ancestor timeline.
5: If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. All I ask is to be polite on the manner and be courteous.
6: Enjoy!
Introduction
Many sweeps ago, in a realm far from ours, there was a place that we once shared with our colored brothers, sisters, and kin. A place where the hue of our veins determined our very place without resentment and ruled as the very law that decided if you conformed to the ways of these strict roles, or perished by the very society that dictates them. This place of such a realm is simply known as Alternia. For millennia, many either accepted the fate of their veins or bitterly kept to the shadows to defy the conformation that was the dreaded Hemospectrum until caught. That was, till one day, the unthinkable was brought to light. Under the height of the Aylin Ascension, a wiggler, whose blood was so pure and free of any tint of colors, arose from the den of the Mother Grub; dawning blind confusion for the Lusus of the land to such high regards that they, themselves, began to questioned them.
"How can such a thing hold no color?"
"Can we even allow such a creature to live?"
"Surely there is something said to such a bizarre turn of chance."
While many of the Lusus's questioned and debated on what to do towards the colorless young, only one amongst them were brave enough to step forward. "Questioning how and why is pointless." They said to their fellow Lususians, their enormous silver wings spreading wide to assert their presence. "They are just like any other young that we seek to raise. And if you are simply going to squabble on the 'whys' and 'how comes' of them, then I will be in charge of caring for them."
"We cannot simply allow that." Another said, snarling disapprovingly towards their Lizard-winged Lususian. "What if they are an ill-omen like the failures of the mut-"
They growled lowly to them. "The Mutant's were never failures." They stated, their tail coiling around the young hueless wiggler to bring them close. "And I will not hear of any ill-talk on them while I am here."
Many of them laugh under their breath on their bold statement, finding it utterly ridiculous to see their fellow kin's views so different from the rest of theirs. "You, and the rest of your Mono-loving allies, would be the only one that thinks so." Another remarked above them, pecking their peak along the under wing of theirs briefly before ruffling them up to appear more larger than the Lizard, laughing at them. "So blinded in the concept of being 'optimistic' and 'Sincere', it is truly a wonder that you weren't executed by Gl'bgolyb on the spot when the vote was cast." Their eyes laid over towards the small wigger that rested themselves under the coil of the Lizard's tail, their gaze grinning as their lips begun to salivated on the young hueless wiggler. "I will say…they do look tasty…" They said, gradually coming closer to the Lizard-Winged Lusis. "And I did skip my dinner-"
The Lizard snapped at the Bird, snarling their teeth to them with bits of blacken smoke under their mouth. "You will do no such thing Phoenix." They snared, bringing the colorless wigger into their paws and resting their tiny head along the base of their chest."Nor will any of you persuade my decision. The young one will be under my care. End of discussion!"
"Come on- get to the fun parts!" A young wiggler whined, their beady black eyes pleading for the ending as their fellow sister followed in.
"Yeah! Get to the part of how they mastered "Harmonized Edge" and and dewlared war on Con…Con…" They pawed their front scuttlers together when they tried to remember the word, only to give up on trying and go for a simpler word. "Bad Pink Lady!"
The one re-telling the tale chuckled under her breath, allowing their brother to crawl up to their lap. "No way! The part of the Limebloods being evacuated when they aligned themselves with them is more fun than that!"
"Nuh uh!" the sister hissed
"Uh huh!" the brother argued back, the adult troll that was reading the tale rolling their eyes in amusement as they closed the book they had in their hands.
"You wanted me to tell you the story, but it seems you both already know the details of it!" They said, gathering them both up into their loving arms and turned them over to the small crib that was made for them. "Which tells me that you didn't need a bedtime story after all."
They smiled softly as their little wigglers hissed in dismay to the statement, trying their hardest to form an argument to why they ask for the story. "B-But but hearing about Astra and Lusis Nidhogg is so ffffuuunnn!" The brother whined, their sister puffing their cheeks.
"Fwun Fwun!" They retorted back, their caregiver chuckling softly as they began to tuck them in.
"Not surprising." They agreed. "I was rather fond of it myself when it was told to me when I was just your age." They gently pinched their cheeks with care, getting the feisty little wigglers to giggle back at them for a moment before they rose up. "But it is now time for sleep."
"But the sssttooorry!" The brother whined, their sister softly whining beside them in the cradle in quiet unison; the caregiver shaking her head.
"No point in telling it if you are eager for these 'good parts' of it." Course, they were teasing the young ones, turning their back away from them for a moment before they heard them pleading more for the ending for the Tale.
"T-Then tell us the ending!" The sister plead. "J-Just the ending!"
"W-We promise to sleep after that!" The brother followed. "P-Promise!"
Though their mother was playfully pondering on the young wiggler's pleading, they were quickly interrupted when someone at the cracked door of their Hive knocked, turning to find their mate with tired eyes. "I hope I wasn't interrupting anything." They smiled, Lime eyes returning the same affection in turn when they heard them chuckle. But despite what amount of care was in their eyes, their mate could tell that something was looming on their thoughts.
"Hardly." They said, turning back to their young. "I was simply getting our lovely wigglers to sleep." The two wigglers pouted softly in continuous protest for not having some satisfaction for their favorite to be told nor finished, but silently complied to their mothers wishes when they were wrapped up in their blankets. "But their favorite tale will have to continue another time."
"Ahahah…" They chuckled under breath. "And I will be sure to play that role when that next time happens." The wigglers eyes flickered briefly in that delight for their father, their eyes growing heavy as soon the light of their lamp turned out upon their mother's departer; vaguely hearing them say 'goodnight' to them when slumber took them to their dreams.
Gently closing the children's door, the Light blood turned to her mate. "…What says those of the Charcoal Spec?" They asked, their tone swiftly shifting from the caring tone they carried moments ago as they looked up at their mate. "Be forward with me."
The Lime blood hesitated gently on their question, carefully thinking of the right words to described what they were foretold by the Charcoal Spec before sighing gently. "It is a mix of both wonderous and concerning." They began, gently taking their mate by the hand, massaging the back of it with care. "Which would you rath-"
"Just tell me." They pressed, placing their other hand above theirs was they stepped forward. "What news was foreseen for us?"
Though the Lime blood admired their mate's strength to withstand the truth, they knew this kind would make even their best days seem wary. But there was nothing to be done to truly change this challenging course of what was foreseen by the Charcoal Spec. "Then forward I shall be." They said, their eyes on theirs as they begun to repeat what was shared. "By the blessing of The All Leaders themself, our prayers for another addition to our Hive is met…" Their eyes trailed away from their mate's gaze for a brief moment to reflect on their life before turning their gaze to them. "Though this is a blessing for us to have…It would seem that the young one…our young one will be birthed into the world on the very day that The Valkyrie will soon pass on to the next lifespan."
They watch the eyes of their mate gradually turn from being so overly ambitious to this news to having a new wiggler to their family to a level of distressed that would make one crippled; bitterly letting this pill to swallow and settle before slowly exhaling their dismay on it off their chest. "So, the rumors of a new age of Snow are true…" They muttered gently, their hand slowly finding its way to the middle of their stomach to gently brush where their child is, most definitely, resting on this moment. "…Then it means that this era is far from done in their duty…"
They nodded in response, sharing the emotions that their mate was expressing in equal measure. "Thus, meaning we need to be prepared to the adjustments that will be carried with the responsibilities that will be upon them…and take great measures to be there for them when those times come about." They eyed the door of their children's room. "For all of them."
There was a heavy silence that lingered for a long moment between them, both reflecting various thoughts of this news and the many outcomes that was within them. It was not something to take lightly and the burden for the role that was set for their unborn was nearly unimaginable to fathom for either of them, let alone their children. "…Who will be coming for this?"
"Yrsa from the Charcoal Spec itself will be the first in a few months' time." They answered. "Until then, I believe a newly devoted from the Pearl Domain will be here within a few days times. Svein, I believe their name is."
Their mate nodded gently, taking another moment to slowly inhale and exhale to calm their worries before forming a smile on their face. "Perhaps we can request Cridot and Vraset to attend as well…Just in case-" The Lime blood cupped their mate's cheek gently, their thumb gently stroking along their face to silently assure them that those thoughts can wait and to just keep those worries for the Pearl blood to answer when they come. "…Then let us get some rest." They sighed, smiling tiredly. "Can't be looking ragged for our guest."
