It was a beautiful day in Party Town. There was much commotion as a light-skinned man walked with what seemed to be two assistants, looking around. Pauly D the Mummy, lead guitarist of Iron Titan was walking along when he noticed. Just then, his friend Summer Holiday waved him over.
"Hey Pauly, check it out!" she said as he approached her. Summer was standing among the crowd next to their other friend, Tobor. "They're filming a horror movie here this weekend."
"No way. That's Kaz Ridley!" Pauly gushed. "He directed my all-time favorite horror movie, Spiders and Snakes. There's no way he can top that! What's this one called?"
"Spiders, Snakes & Clowns," Summer answered.
"He topped it! The man's a genius!" Pauly exclaimed.
"I hear he's recruiting people in town to play the victims," Summer said. "I would LOVE to be in a horror movie!"
"I've been in a horror movie since I moved in," Tobor snarked. "It's called being a geeky robot in a town full of human jocks…" As he finished saying this, one of the jocks walked up behind him and knocked his notebooks out of his hand. "Nice one, Troy!" Tobor exclaimed, giving him a thumbs up while the jock gave him a pat on the back as he walked away. "Went for the books instead of the wedgie this time!"
"Time for Kaz Ridley to discover his new star victim," Summer said, walking up a bit before taking a deep breath and letting out a loud, almost blood-curdling shriek. Kaz and his assistants did not notice.
"Seriously?" Summer said. "Nothing? That's my best scream, my 'Get away from me, Melvin Dorfman' scream." As if on cue, Melvin Dorfman walked up to Summer, who looked at her and let out her scream again, causing Melvin to hightail it out of there. "See? Works with him."
Just then, Tobor looked at his backpack and let out a scream of his own.
"You trying to get in the movie, too?" Pauly asked.
"No! My juice box spilled all over my math book," Tobor replied. Just then, Kaz walked up to them.
"Kid!" Kaz said. (A/N: I picture him being voiced by Montez Ford. Yeah, if you couldn't tell, I'm a wrestling fan.) "I want you in my movie."
People's eyes widened, feeling shocked…except for Summer, who seemed quite annoyed.
"Seriously?" she said.
"That scream!" Kaz continued, ignoring Summer. "It was so real!"
"I-It was real," Tobor stammered. "I have a real passion for math. And juice…"
"Make a note in the script!" Kaz told his assistant. "Change 'cool, brave, handsome kid' to…" He took another look at Tobor before finishing. "Nerd."
"Thank you, sir!" Tobor said excitedly. "You won't be sorry. I have done a LOT of musical theatre!" Tobor did some jazz hands to emphasize his point.
"Change 'nerd' to 'nerd who dies a grizzly death'," Kaz told his assistant before continuing to scout the town. Seeing an opportunity, Pauly walked up to him.
"Hey, Mr. Ridley," he said. "Ever thought about having a rock band in your movie?"
"Amigo," Kaz told him, "we can't afford some big, famous rock band. We can't even afford fake blood!"
"You need blood?" Summer asked, running up to them. "I got blood! Put me in the movie, I'll bleed all over the place!"
"…Friend of yours?" Kaz asked Pauly.
"She's Melvin Dorfman's friend," Pauly answered, gently pushing Summer away as he threw her under the bus. "Look, I know a big, famous rock band who'd be in the movie just for the publicity and their own dressing rooms."
"We can't afford dressing rooms," Kaz told him.
"They change in public all the time!" Pauly exclaimed.
Kaz nodded his head and turned to his assistant, while Pauly took his phone out and made a call.
Meanwhile, at Pauly's house…
"Pauly, I'm glad you called, we've got a bit of an emergency," Mel the Mummy, the band's lead singer, said on the other end. "We need one more cheese wheel to finish our Cheese-mobile…" he added, kneeling around the table with bassist Goth Boy, backup guitarists Chaz McFreely and Travis Scott, and drummer Buddy, who were inspecting the Cheese-mobile.
"Uh, hey, forget about that," Pauly said. "How would you guys like to perform a song in an actual horror movie?"
"Yeah, look, I could pretend I'm listening to what you're saying, but the truth is we're getting really nervous about this cheese!" Mel exclaimed.
"There's an extra one in the fridge in the garage…" Pauly whispered, hoping Kaz wouldn't hear.
"Well?" Kaz asked.
"Oh, they're psyched!" Pauly said.
"Cheese! Cheese! Cheese! Cheese!" the guys chanted on the other end.
"Why do they keep yelling 'cheese'?" Kaz asked.
"I-It's a new word for 'awesome'," Pauly lied. "Yeah, no one cool says awesome anymore."
"This movie's gonna be awesome!" Tobor said as he walked by them.
"See?" Pauly asked, casually throwing his robotic friend under the bus. Kaz then turned to his assistant.
"You're supposed to keep me up on the hip expressions!" he yelled at her. "YOU'RE FIRED!" He then smiled, turned to Pauly, and said, "Tell the band we shoot this weekend," before walking off.
"You hear that?" Pauly said on the phone. "We shoot this weekend!"
"Dude, I'm gonna have to call you back. We have a situation," Mel said on the other end. "Goth Boy just drove the Cheese-mobile into his mouth…"
Goth Boy was indeed eating the Cheese-mobile, already halfway done as Mel hung up and rejoined them.
"Great! Now how are the Von Cheesersons gonna get to the county fair?!" Buddy yelled at him, holding up two small cheese figures before motioning to the big cheese county fair they had made.
"Dude, I ate their kids and their car! You really think they're worried about the fair?" Goth Boy snarked back before continuing to eat, the others shaking their heads.
