Lucy is sixteen and lonely. Every friend of hers are in durable relationship and she is not. Double date, triple date, where she is not invited are common among her friends. She is lonely and sign up on dating app as an 19 years old. She starts talking with males, searching for a date and find Laxus, a 23 year old looking for a serious relationship.(Modern universe)
All around her were her friends, she had met them on her first day of ninth grade.
She had moved into the city with her father and was a bit lost. She had bumped ways with Natsu, the guy who –she learned later- painted his cat blue. Natsu was the golden retriever of people, he was friendly and everyone liked him. He was playful and gentle, Lucy felt immediately drawn to him. Later that day, the pink haired punk had introduced her to his group of friends. They never parted ways.
That was why she was here, two years later, on her eleventh grade first day, surrounded by all of them. All of them cleaning their boyfriends/girlfriends mouth with their tongues.
She had restrained herself from groaning of disgust, she had simply told them she was going to her class early. They had ignored her, too busy making out.
She had grumbled, not understanding how, on her ten friends, none of them could hear and answer.
Lucy was a bit jealous. They all had a nice relationship, they were all really happy and they were still good friends, she just wished she had someone like that with her. Someone to give her attention, and comfort, to take her out and just spent time with her.
Sadly, none of her dates had evolved into serious relationships; the guy usually stopped talking to her after the first date. They all had the same excuse, "you're waiting for your knight in shining armor, you have too many expectations." One of them had even told her "It's not me, it's you." Lucy had cried on her friend's shoulders for days, she didn't understand why even after lowering her expectations, she couldn't hold a freaking relationship with anyone.
She was pretty, kind, polite, she made jokes, she was successful in her studies, and she paid for every dates.
She was never overbearing, or nagging them, if they wanted to go out it was fine. She was understanding and never asked for anything. At one point, her friend Levy had told her, none of that looked like dating, she had to stop being so desperate for romance, her time would come.
Lucy was tired of waiting for some good guy to come into her life, and she was tired to see all of her friends suspended to each other lips all the freaking time.
Was it so bad that she wanted someone in her life ?
She was still young, and yet so tired of being lonely.
She had spent all of her summer receiving text from her friends, telling her they were finally together, and she had been really happy. Lisanna had waited since the sixth grade for Natsu, and they were the perfect couple now.
She had spent all of her summer waiting for her friends to call, to go out, or anything, but never received one invitation, they were busy dating.
She had spent all of her summer sending invitations for multiples occasions, but they were rarely accepted.
Lucy was tired of dating dumbass and tired of being lonely.
