Hey, let me know how the story is and leave a review. I hope you like it. For those of you who like Lloyd I will do it from their point of view. Enjoy it.

Beginnings

This was October 24. And the day her whole world fell apart. Also, Ironically the anniversary of the last time she saw her uncle.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. The loud, sharp noise stabbed her ears as she rolled over in her bed. Beep. Beep. She finally rolled over, smacked the alarm button, and turned the light on. As she sat up, she contemplated going to school. I mean everybody else skips, so why can't I. Just five more minutes of sleep would be amazing.

My name is Rivera, but everybody calls me Rya. Not Rya with a hard i sound, but with a hard e sound. Even as she thought this, Rya knew that she must get dressed and continue her routine. She must get dressed, wash her face, eat breakfast, feed her cats, gather her backpack and lunch box, and catch the bus. She went downstairs and through the rest of the morning in a blur. The only reason she knew what she ate is because she eats the same thing every morning. She eats

Rya was standing at the end of her driveway looking around the same landscape she had been in for five years. From the time I was born until I was 9 years old, I lived in a car with my mom. My mother's name is Katherine, but I call her Kathy. My mother couldn't find a job or a place to stay. It was only recently that a great uncle, or was it a nephew? Lent my mother some cash and a got her a job which she has managed to hold. It's been two years since I saw him. My uncle, I mean. He had a strangely long beard that was all white and he wore a weird hat. It looks like those straw hats you would wear out in the fields to work. Could that be how he became so rich? A prosperous farm and many years of hard work. The one thing that unsettled me was how old he looked. I remember asking him why he was so old, and he merely replied, "One day we shall meet again, and then you shall know." From then on, I just wrote him off as a crazy old man.

My mother's front yard is big with a couple trees spaced out from the house to the road. Our mailbox is just to the left of the driveway and that was where I looked when it happened. Something strange happened. I was looking down the street to my left. I wanted to see if my friend Shyla and her sister were down their driveway yet, when I saw a shadow move. I thought I saw a head poking out from behind my neighbor's tree, but I though my imagination went wild for a second. But just as I turned around to look for the bus to my right, I saw a different head disappear behind the bush right next to the street in my neighbor's yard. I could have sworn the second head looked green. No, that's not right. It was just the sun reflecting off the leaves. Then she got on the bus and took her seat just as she always had.

A couple miles away five shadows dropped out of the trees and looked around." Why did you let her see you?" The green one inquired pulling back his hood.

"I couldn't believe they couldn't feel her power!" Answered the red one. "And I think she did see you! She looked scared and practically ran onto the bus."

"Yeah, it knocked me off guard, but we do have to be more careful. We don't want to freak her out or let her see our face. She might recognize us." the green one scolded.

The red one pulled back his hood also. "Oh, come on she was only a toddler the last time we saw her. Remember. She was only 5 or 6."

"Yes." the green one said exasperated. "I know, but who knows what her powers have let her do or remember. Just to be on the safe side stay to the shadows and ALWAYS keep your hood up."

"Okay, okay, Greenie." The red one pulled out a comb and started to brush his hair totally at ease.

"Yeah, Greenie, don't worry. I don't think she will tell anybody, and we can watch her to make sure she doesn't. And besides, her powers shouldn't be unlocked until the full moon which isn't for another 3 weeks. Relax." Consoled the black one. The white and blue ones also pulled down their hoods.

"Given her situation past reactions, the probability of her speaking about what she saw is very low" inserted the white one.

"Who's getting tingles? I'm getting tingles. THIS IS SO AWSOME." exploded the blue one.

"Shuuuuuuuush" they all groaned. The green one wondered how the blue one ever became a ninja with the amount of noise he made on a daily basis.

"Are you trying to get the police called on us. We're still in a populated area. I'm glad you're happy about this, but she could become a threat. Come on, we need to get back to the others and repot what we saw." the green one offered.

They all pulled up their hoods once more and started at a jog. The others diapered into the undergrowth as the green one stopped and turned around, scanning the surrounding trees. "Wherever you are, Rivera, stay strong." He turned around and darted into the trees.

Rya

Rya had just finished period two and was about to go upstairs to period 3 when a hand grabbed her and pulled her into a doorway. Rya looked up so see a boy of maybe 16 looking at her. He was dressed in jeans with a green flame T-shirt. Over top was a zipper up green sweatshirt. He had blond, white hair with bright green eyes. His hair was messily piled on top of his head like so many of the cute boys in her grade. Something about him looked familiar. She looked closer to try and figure out what it was. Something blurry came to the front of her mind. Like a dream you had a week ago where you only remember a few details, but not enough for a complete thought. Then it broke and she looked down to see that he still had her arm, so she gently pulled away.

"Um, what are you doing?" she asked.

"Oh, um sorry I just wanted to ask you a couple questions. Sorry if I startled you." he assured.

"No, it's okay. I do need to get to class, but uh what's your number? So, you can text me." she reconned.

"Oh, I, um I don't have a phone." he replied. "I'll find you after school." He started to turn away. "Oh, did you happen to see anything this morning by chance?"

"Oh my gosh I did! But how did you know about that?" now she was getting worried. This weird kid just told her he was going to track her down after school to ask her questions, and then he just confirmed that she wasn't just seeing things. Was he the one spying on her? But why would he do that? Why would a cute guy stalk HER? I mean she was just trying to get thought the day. This was just freaking her out and people were staring to look. She saw her friend Hanna. The guy was looking mildly panicked or worried.

"I have to go to class. Sorry" she turned around and started fast walking almost jogging to catch up with Hanna. She didn't look back.

"Wait!" He called after her. He knew he messed up, and he couldn't grab her again without causing more attention to be drawn to himself. Already he was getting stares from the other students in the halls. He saw a teacher starting to walk down to hall towards him. He needed to get out of there, and fast. He started walking down the hall and vanished from sight around a corner.

Down the hall a bit Rya and Hanna were talking. Rya looked behind her. She didn't see him, but if he was the one who she saw this morning, then he could hide in plain sight.

"Are you okay. Who was that guy? He was hot. Are you talking to him? Can you introduce me?" she asked hungrily.

"What? No. I don't know. I was just trying to get to this class when he grabbed my arm and pulled me into the doorway. He said something about wanting to ask me a question." she pondered.

"That's weird," she marveled. They just made it up the stairs and to their class. They went in and sat down in their seats. Rya thought about her conversation with the guy. What is his name? Why was he wearing green both times she saw him? What did he want to ask her? But the one that stuck in her mind was Who is he? And how did he know her?
