Episode 1: life
3rd pov~
A blonde headed girl sat up and took a look around. She frowned as she realized that she wasn't in her bed—where she should've been. Instead, she sat in the bed of a truck that was covered with soft, plush pillows. At first, she didn't think too much about her new surroundings, but then she realized how different the atmosphere was around her. Everything was pitch black like someone had only just turned off the lights and she was still waiting for her eyes to adjust. That sounded like a decent plan.
Her life wasn't horrible it wasn't great but wasn't horrible ether. But here she was in the darkness no one around.
She had found weakness was an easy way to get killed. Her life an great example of this. She watched her wonderful mother being abused verbally by coworkers. as she thought this she saw her memories on the walls her mother being mocked by blank faces of her fellow coworkers. She thought it was strange then she remembered the how to deal with it. It was to shut people out.
She remabred she got sick from poison which she took to become stronger physically a way to be immune to things that made her week both snake venom and poison posion.
She has become immune to some and had a lot to go to be immune to the others. And the memorys played on the wall her being sick after drinking posion.
These memorys slowly made her feel strong and weak at the same time but she had to be right. As her thoughts moved thorough the area she was pushed out. One word ran across the sky.
"Your life shell be made into his child and her child daughter sister but your past the same. New life."
World of tmnt 2013 season 2 After Squirlanoids
She awoke with long blonde hair in a braid that went to her waist purple eyes like amethysts and fair skin. She had a jacket over a white blouse and long blue jeans along with black boots. The street's cement path was hard and cool against her skin. Her eyes stared at the back of the hand reaching out.
"I am Marissa but how did I get on the streets…" she wondered if she shook her head getting back to her normal habit. She got up to look for someone who sold poison.
"You okay, kid?" a young girl asked.
She had black spiky hair that ended above her shoulders and brown eyes. She was dressed in a black tank top with a skull on it, ripped black jeans, and black combat boots.
"Yeah. I'm fine," said Marissa.
"That's good," said the girl. And then gestured to a shop behind her. "I was just cleaning my shop when I saw you out here. Why don't you come inside and I'll get you a drink?"
"No need to bother, I'm looking for po- never mind." She stopped herself before walking off from the said girl. She needed to find a poison seller if she wished to continue her training. Ever since she was young she learned the amount something would kill you out right and the amount needed to survive the poison and build an immunity to it.
It took years of screatly buying the stuff saving the money taking it and doing the process over again until she was imunme to all of the comment posions and vanoms and only a few of the others. So she needed another of that. She stopped before leaving something about this girl wreaked of poison. "Hey do you sell anything that could hurt someone like poison or such."
The girl smirked and said, "Not publicly, but yes. Come inside and I'll show you. Name's Sam Jones, by the way."
"Just call me M."
"And you can call me Sliver, cause I'm sneaking," Sam said as they entered the shop.
"I'll just call you S." She pulled out her wallet well looking around.
"As you can see, to the public, we're an antique store who primarily specializes in warrior artifacts," Sam explained. And then opened a secret back door. "But, in truth, my boss is a top supplier of anything ninja, poisons included."
"I need a poison that is rare but still be put in small amounts to gain immunity to."
"Then you'll want this one," said Sam as she took a bottle off the shelf. "This one is one of our top sellers. My boss calls it The Demon's Kiss."
She held out her money. "I haven't researched it so I'll need instructions for this one."
Sam took the money and said, "That comes in your starter kit." And then gave her a box with the poison's name on it. "Just be sure to read the directions before using it."
"I will use it on myself for immunity. So I always read them. I'm immune to 709 poisons and venom's all together."
"And you intend to make it 710?" asked a man's voice. A big muscular man came out and faced the girls. "Sorry to surprise you, I'm Rick Blaze, I own this place. Call me R."
"I intend to make it 800."
Sam looked shocked. "What if you die?"
"If I'm that weak then I deserve to die." She looked around. "I'd also like a mask and a katana if you have one."
"We have several," said Rick. "My shop is the best place for ninja gear. Everything."
"I need a kitsune mask. And a sword and some ninja clothing."
-Hours later-
She had found a place to stay in the area where she could drink the poison. Luckily, she had a lot of cash. So she would be fine for quite awhile. She looked at the poison and read the instructions. "4 drops will kill within 2 hours less than 3 will cause nausea and kill within 4 to 5 hours 1 drop over a course of 6 weeks will cause symptoms of nausea and fever but won't kill. For those not trying to kill the target make sure to use only 2 drops. Only three people have become immune through this method so be careful not to give them more than one in case of this. There is an antidote in case of emergency." She took a soda and dripped 2 into her soda. She did this over 6 weeks and increased it after she was sure she gained tolerance.
She looked out the window and saw the Shellraiser. It looked like another mutagen hunt.
She drank her soda some more we'll she watched and saw some. It was an odd site. "So this is like the show…. I wonder if the Shredder used the demon to poison Shredder if he used more than 4 drops. I can imagine that would take less time but Splinter still survived.
She smiled as they came out and waved to them. Catching only Mikey's attention at first.
"Dudes!" Mikey shouted.
"What is it, Mikey?" Raph asked. "And please don't say the comic book was right again."
"No, it's a girl waving to me." He said pointing to her they looked up and indeed a girl was waving to Mikey and drinking a soda. Mikey waved back at her. "Cool, huh?"
The other three turtles looked shocked.
"Well, that's swell," said Raph. "A human saw us."
"She's not screaming, she doesn't seem to care and she's waving to Mikey……." Donnie pointed out then he noticed the girl looking pretty happy.
"Hi!" Mikey happily said. "I'm Mikey! These are my bros, Leo, Donnie, and Raph. What's your name?"
"Marissa!"
"Pretty name!" Mikey replied. "I'll come over to you!"
"Mikey!" Leo shouted as Mikey leapt from the vehicle. "Get back here right now!"
Mikey leapt and swung to Marissa. "You're not scared of mutants?"
"Not in the least can't really be scared of something unless you get to know it. Being afraid just because it's new isn't something I do." She smiled at him. Continuing to drink her soda.
"Can I have a sip?" Mikey asked.
"Not of this no I can give you a fresh one you don't know the germs in my mouth and you could get sick from it." She grabbed a different bottle and gave it to him then she gave him a few more. "Here for you and your brothers."
"Thanks," said Mikey. "Have you seen any weird goo in a glass container?"
"Yes there was one on my roof, it's broken but half of it is still in there." She grabbed a pair of gloves. "Here if you're trying to get it, I suggest using these you don't want to cut yourselfs."
"Thanks," said Mikey. "Let's hope this one doesn't make mutant squirrel monsters like the last time."
She gave a confused look before shrugging and going back inside.
Mikey jumped down. After giving his brothers the soda, they went to the roof to investigate. Like Mikey heard, there was a broken canister.
They found it right away. "Well she seems to be pretty nice considering she just met us." Donnie remarked.
"She doesn't believe in judging people before you know them," said Mikey as Donnie carefully packed the canister.
"A human who isn't bothered by mutants. Sounds cool," said Raph.
-The lair-
They got back and there Splinter was with some food.
"Hey, Sensei!" Mikey happily said. "You'll never guess what just happened tonight."
"Mikey met a human," said Leo.
Splinter gave a concerned look. "Michelangelo, tell me you did not actually introduce yourself to a human," said Splinter.
Mikey's eyes shifted as he said, "Is that what you wanna hear?"
"He introduced himself." Leo crossed his arms.
Splinter now looked mad. "Michelangelo, what were you thinking?!" he asked.
"She was really nice. She gave all of us soda and she told us where the mutagen was and she gave us gloves."
"She did?" Splinter asked. "Hmm. Perhaps she could help us."
"What do you mean, sensei?"
"If she knows us, perhaps she could help make our search for the mutagen easier," said Splinter. "What is her name?"
"She said it was Marissa."
Splinter blinked. "What does she look like?"
"Purple eyes, blonde hair." Mikey said, confused. Splinter dropped the food.
"Sensei? Are you alright?" Donnie asked in concern.
"I think you four may have met my second daughter." Splinter said in total shock.
"Second daughter?!" Raph asked in shock. "But, that's impossible! Your family got murdered by the Shredder fifteen years ago!"
"Perhaps not if you saw purple eyes that's no coincidence Marissa was her name." Splinter said in a serious tone.
"Uh well then we might wanna go to the hospital. A blonde with purple eyes was found violently ill after comfsuminy poison willingly." Donnie said.
"What?!" Splinter said in shock.
-hospital-
Marissa was breathing steadily while unconscious. She was at first unaware of her visitors in the shadows. The mutants came out when they were sure no one was coming.
"Is it her, sensei?" Leo asked.
He was sure it was her. The girl's eyes opened for a moment. He saw her beautiful purple eyes.
"Yes. It is her," he said. "My Marissa. My baby girl."
"But why did she poison herself?" Mikey asked.
She sat up trying to get out of bed.
"Whoa," Mikey said. "Take it easy. You're in the hospital to rest."
"I'm fine." She walked over to the window.
"Do as the doctor says," Splinter told her as he touched her shoulder.
"I'm fine. Thanks for the concern but I don't need it. I'm not weak enough to die from poison." She brushed off his hand and jumped out of the window onto the stairs below.
"Let's follow her," said Leo as they jumped after her.
As she ran she vomited into a trash can.
"Whoa!" Mikey shouted in panic. She took several deep breaths. "Marissa, you have to rest."
"My body is gaining a resistance to the poison I ingested. I can't rest."
"But what if it's too much?" Raph asked.
"I've done this enough times I'm used to it." She puked again.
"Oh yeah, you're really handling it," Raph sarcastically said.
"Yeah I am." She is panted taking another deep breath.
"Let us help you," said Leo.
She thought about it. Before sighing. "Fine."
Leo helped her stand up and walked with her. Splinter then took over and carried her.
"I will take you home. Where do you live?" He asked.
"Hate to tell you but my home is that old abandoned apartment."
"If you prefer, I can take you to mine," said Splinter. "I am Splinter."
"That's fine." She took several breaths.
"Breathe slowly and steadily," Splinter said as he carried her to the Shellraiser. "Focus your mind."
She did as she was told. It seemed to be helping with the pain. And the rat had such a kind and soothing voice. It was like a father helping to calm his child.
"Do you feel any better?" Splinter asked.
"Yeah it helps. I'm usually doing this by myself. Thank you." She smiled.
"You are very welcome," said Splinter. And then he set her down. "Do you have parents who take care of you?"
"Obviously not if I live in an old rundown place."
Splinter looked sadly at her and said, "Why don't you come live with me and my sons?"
"Alright if you're really ok with it. It's probably better than sleeping on the floor."
"You will have a bed," said Splinter with a smile.
"That's nice." She leaned on his shoulder.
"Rest, my child," said Splinter as Leo started the car.
-Lair-
Splinter sighed.
"So why does she seem so eager to drink poison?" Raph asked.
"It could be poison resistant training. Other clans did it but the Hamato clan never did." Splinter said, looking very sad.
"I read about that," said Leo. "This was done in an effort to make stronger ninjas, ones that can't be killed by poison."
"Yes I believe she under went it."
"She shouldn't have to do that," said Raph.
"No but it maybe her own choice if so all we can do is hope she'll change her mind or try to convince her to."
"I'm gonna give convincing a try," said Mikey.
Marissa awoke, got up, and looked at them.
"Hi!" Mikey happily said.
"Hi again, Mikey. I feel like the poison run its course so I feel better." She smiled happily.
"That's good to hear," said Mikey.
She took a moment before looking at Splinter. "Thank you for helping me through that."
"You are very welcome," said Splinter. "By the way, what happened to the people who raised you? Where is your family?"
"Don't know. I ran away a long time ago." She shrugged.
"Well, would you like a proper family?" Splinter asked.
She looked very confused. "Uh sure."
"Good. Cause we'd be happy to have you," said Mikey.
She felt so comfortable it was odd. At least in her head.
"So, have you been in New York for long?" Leo asked.
"A few days. Not long. I heard of a poison that's hard to build an immunity to so I had to get it." She said in a gentle tone.
"Have you succeeded?" Splinter asked.
"Yeah. That was the stuff I was using."
"This poison is very deadly," said Splinter, revealing the bottle of poison she had on her. "I'm amazed you survived."
"I'm not. I worked hard to survive."
"I admire such determination. A drive worthy of the Hamato clan," said Splinter.
She nodded looking a little confused but she wondered if there was a but there.
"But it was still reckless," said Splinter. "Even so, there is a place for you here."
"Assuming you're not secretly working with the Foot," said Raph.
"Considering I have no idea what that is I'm gonna go with no." She remarked before walking back over to the couch.
"How about a video?" Mikey excitedly asked. "I just found these titled, "Super Robo Mecha Force 5." It's a classic."
"I'm more of a fan of new shows uh no offense besides I need to practice." She smiled before going to work.
"Okay!" Mikey said. "Catch you later!"
"I can help if you'd like," Donnie offered.
"You're gonna help me practice ninjutsu?"
"I am a ninja," Donnie said like it should be obvious.
"I think she'd prefer a real ninja for a partner," Raph bragged. "One more up to her level."
"So I should ask Splinter." Marissa remarked, smiling.
Raph blinked. "Uh, I meant-"
"That you should train with your brothers and let me handle Marissa's training," Splinter said. He smiled at Marissa. "Is that what you want?"
"That would be preferable, Father. You are the teacher and I figure I should learn from another master." She smiled and they all looked at her in surprise.
"Did you just call sensei father?" Raph asked.
"I figure it's appropriate since he is taking me in. If that's alright if not I can just refer to him as sensi as well." Marissa rubbed the back of her neck.
"No, no. I like it," said Splinter he seemed to smile. His daughter despite not knowing was calling him father he wanted to tell her but for now it was better he didn't. "I prefer it."
"Alright, father, shall we then?" She smiled. It was soft and gentle, holding undertones of hope.
Splinter smiled at her and said, "We shall, my daughter."
And then he led her upstairs. Raph watched with surprise and a little bit of jealousy. Donnie then cleared his throat and got his attention.
"So, you think I'm not a real ninja?" Donnie asked.
"That's not what I meant." Raph crossed his arms.
"Sure didn't sound like it," Donnie said, offended.
"Quit being such a baby, Donnie," Raph said with a groan. "It's not that I don't think you're a ninja. I'm just naturally the best."
Donnie smirked and said, "Except you're not the leader. That job belongs to Leo."
Raph glared at Donnie. "Don't test me, brainiac," Raph warned him.
"Okay," Donnie said while holding up his hands in defense.
-dojo-
Splinter stood across from Marissa. "Are you ready?"
She nodded. "I'm ready."
Splinter got into a battle stance and charged at Marissa. She seemed to anticipate his moves and blocked each blow.
"Impressive," Splinter praised.
"It's a talent." She shrugged.
"But how long can you keep up?" Splinter asked. "Prepare to defend against seionagei."
He rushed to attack her again. She could see his style was different than he said. On impulse, she ducked and flipped Splinter over her back. Splinter looked impressed.
"So you can fight without thinking," he said.
"I follow movements and I can see how others move. Saying one thing and doing another is easy for me to follow." She smiled.
"It took Donatello an entire mission to learn such a skill," said Splinter.
"I learned when I was younger."
"Your master sounds amazing," said Splinter as he continued to fight the girl. "I would have liked to have met this person."
"She is something." She said in a gentle tone. "Miss Chi was very strict but very gentle."
"So, that was her name," said Splinter as he blocked another blow and jumped back. "I think I already like her."
"Mari, come here! You gotta see this!" Mikey called, laughing.
Curious, Marissa went to see what Mikey was laughing about. She saw him watching the old show and playing a scene with a girl who looked like a princess and a guy who looked like a scientist.
"Princess Z, would you be willing to join me for a space dinner?" The scientist asked nervously.
The princess huffed and said, "I would not go out with you for a million sayon crystals." And then she walked away and left the scientist devastated.
"That is so Donnie and April!" Mikey said in between laughs.
Splinter looked disappointed in Mikey. "I see nothing funny about heartbreak."
"But this dude's face is priceless!" Raph said as he paused on the heartbroken scientist.
"I notice only you three are here," said Splinter.
"Donnie went to his lab after calling the show stupid," said Leo.
"I'm so sorry, Marissa. They're not normally like this," said Splinter.
"It's fine. I get it." She said in a gentle tone.
"Perhaps we should check on Donatello," Splinter suggested.
"Sounds like an idea." Marissa said as they left.
They went into the lab and found Donnie working with some chemicals.
"Donatello, are you alright?" Splinter asked.
"Huh?" Donnie asked. He looked up and saw Splinter and Marissa. "Oh. Yeah. I'm fine. Just fine."
"That show did not hit close to home?" Splinter asked skeptically.
"What? No. Why? Because the pretty girl turned down the geeky scientist? Why would that bother me?" Donnie said, forcing a smile.
Splinter gave him a stone look. "I can tell when you're trying to hide something," he said. "My son, there's nothing wrong with missing April. And, I know your brothers can sometimes be…… less than helpful."
"What? April? What does she have to do with this?" Donnie asked. "Not that it matters. I'm more than a geek. I'm a freak!"
"And if this April girl isn't smart enough to release the fact that she's hurting you then she's not a good friend." She walked over to the jar with mutagen and switched them with the one that would freeze so Timothy would freeze over before he could cause problems. "Personally, she sounds like someone you should ditch."
"Actually, we are to blame," said Donnie. "We were careless and mutated her dad."
"That doesn't give her the right to blame you. Accidents happen. If she can't accept that then she doesn't deserve your friendship." She blinked, looked back and saw a frozen Timothy. "Uh that goo is frozen solid."
Donnie looked at the tank and freaked out. "Timothy!" He screamed. "Oh my god! Timothy! What happened to him?!"
"Donatello, be careful!" Splinter said, pulling him away. "We don't know if it will freeze you too!"
"I doubt it, I think he drank this." She said pointing to the item.
Donnie gasped. "Oh no! This was a reject retro mutagen! I was so careless! I should've been paying attention!"
"Weird, why did he drink it?" Marissa remarked.
"He must have mistaken it for a drink," said Splinter. "In any case, Donatello, it was not your fault."
"Yeah it was probably mine I was looking at them."
"No," said Splinter. "It was Timothy's own."
"But he was my responsibility. I was the one who trained him in the first place," said Donnie.
"Does that matter? It seems obvious whatever happens this left him in a state that wasn't gonna change anytime soon." She said in a gentle tone.
Donnie sighed sadly and said, "I just wanted to make him human again."
She hugged him. She loved him and was sad he had to feel this way but she knew this was needed. Donnie hugged her back and smiled.
"Thanks, Marissa," he said. "I really needed this."
"You're welcome," said Marissa.
Donnie then broke from the hug and went to his desk. He pulled a DVD box set out of a big drawer.
"Hope you like anime about demons," he said. "Found these in a box on a curbside. It's called Yashi."
She nodded. Taking them. "Thank you."
"I think it's time we introduce those three to some real entertainment," Donnie said with a grin. And then he brought out a DVD player. "Good thing I fixed this up."
She smiled then she looked at herself. "You guys seemed really concerned for me it was odd for me I was so used to drinking poisons but you guys were so worried it made me regret it.."
"Well, we couldn't just do nothing while you were hurting," said Donnie. "Especially….. well, especially since you're our age."
"Yeah, but it felt like brothers caring about you." She said in a soft tone.
Donnie blinked and then smiled as he said, "Maybe we see you as the sister we never had."
"Thanks." She smiled before walking off. Splinter looked concerned.
"You should tell her she's your daughter sooner or later."
"I will. When the time is right," said Splinter. Donnie smiled and followed Marissa. Once he was gone, Splinter frowned. "And yet, I have yet to be fully honest with you."
He sighed slightly.
A week later
Marissa took a look at her poison.
"Are you thinking about drinking it?" Splinter asked.
She jumped a bit. She looked slightly ashamed. "Are you mad?"
Splinter shook his head and said, "It was a part of your old training, it makes sense you would be tempted. And your immunity proved helpful at times."
"Miss Chi never trained me for this. I did it myself…. I learned how to, it was a way to not feel like I was powerless." Marissa said as she looked at it. "I guess it is training in a sense."
"Marissa, I would prefer it if you live," said Splinter.
"I'm not gonna die. I've done this enough I'm immune to 709 venoms and poisons all together."
"That's a lovely thought," said Splinter. And then he took a calming breath. "I think you are ready to learn the truth."
"Look I get it. I won't drink it. I just wanted to become immune to one more….but you're uncomfortable here." She hands the poison over and leaves for the suffice.
"No, Marissa, it's not related to that!" Splinter called after her. Unfortunately, she did not seem to hear him. "I'm your father."
He sat there for a long second before looking at the poison and noticed the bottle was light; she had probably already drankin some so close to the last one he decided he needed to find her himself.
-Hours later-
She was walking knowing sooner or later the poison would kick in when a girl about her age with black hair and blonde underneath was walking around in civilian clothes. Instantly she knew it was Karai. "Hey."
"Hello," said Karai. "You seem to be alone."
"It's fine. I'm Marissa by the way."
"Harmony," said Karai, obviously lying.
"Well nice to meet you." Marissa said in a calm tone.
"So, are you on your way to Murakami's?" Karai asked. "I'm going there to get some lunch."
"Yeah sure sounds great." She smiled.
"He makes this dish that's an original creation of his called Pizza Gyoza," said Karai. "It's a Gyoza with pizza filling."
"Sounds good." She smiled at her.
"It is," said Karai as they arrived. "Say, have you been in New York long?"
"For a while." She smiled and was so happy. She looked very cheerful.
"I'm here with my dad while he's on business," said Karai as she bought their tokens. "He's trying to close an old deal."
"Yeah I'm kinda doing something similar." She remarked in a sweet tone.
"I'm also trying to reunite with my little sister," said Karai. "I haven't seen her in years."
"Oh I see well I wish you luck then." She smiled at Karai.
"Thanks," said Karai. "Do you have any brothers or sisters?"
"I have 4. They're really amazing and always worry about me." She said in a gentle tone.
"I worry about my sister all the time," said Karai. "So, how is Leo lately?"
That took her aback, but then she released something. "Tell me how you know that name?"
She looked at Marissa with a smile and said, "I'm sure he's mentioned me before. And my father, the Shredder."
"Karai!" A female voice said. A girl with red hair wearing a yellow t-shirt was standing by with a fan in her hand. "Get away from her, Karai!"
"Oh, it's you," said Karai, smirking. "I was wondering why I hadn't seen you and the turtles together lately."
"None of your business," the girl declared. "You, get away from her. She's dangerous."
"What's going on?" Her cheeks went red this was the worst time for the poison to kick in.
"This girl is the Shredder's daughter and is trying to use you to get to the turtles," said the redhead. "Leave her alone and take me, Karai."
Karai rolled her eyes and stood next to Marissa. "This has nothing to do with the turtles. I'm just picking up my little sister."
"Sister?!" the redhead asked.
"I'm so very confused…" she said before panting she was stumbling before puking. "Excuse me, I need to leave." She said getting ready to go.
Karai grabbed Marissa quickly and said, "Sorry, little sister, but you need to come with me. I've come too far to lose you now."
"I hate to break it to you, but I'm not your sister. We look nothing alike."
"I have a picture of my little sister. Trust me, I know my own sister," said Karai. "And do you know what her name was? It was Marissa."
"I don't care." She coldly said, trying to get away from her.
"Let her go!" The girl screamed as she threw her fan at Karai.
Karai was hit in the arm and dropped Marissa. The girl quickly grabbed Marissa and ran away. Karai recovered and ran after her. The redhead did her best running with the sick girl, but it was difficult. She quickly pulled out a phone that looked like a turtle shell.
"Donnie, please pick up," she said to herself.
"Are….you April?" She coughed before puking again.
"You know who I am?" The girl, April asked. And then seemed to get a response. "Oh, Donnie, thank God. I need your help. I have a girl with me. She's really sick and Karai's after her. Please come help her!"
A girl? Wait, we're looking for someone right now and Splinter's on the surface looking for his daughter, Marissa.
"Marissa?" April asked in shock. "Does she have blonde hair and purple eyes?"
Yes, said Donnie. But how did you know?
"The girl I'm with is also Marissa. And she has blonde hair and purple eyes," said April. "She's also incredibly sick."
There was a solid minute of silence.
"Donnie? Are you still there?" April asked.
yes. She's probably poisoned herself."
"What?! Why would she do that?!" April asked. She looked at Marissa. "Why would you poison yourself?"
"Training."
She's trying to become immune, Donnie said. I'll tell Splinter to go to where you are and my brothers and I will try to find you too. In the meantime, get underground as fast as you can.
"Okay. I'll do that," said April. She grabbed Marissa again. "We have to get underground. The turtles and Splinter are looking for you."
"No…. I don't want them to see me like this again." She started to cough up blood. This was so much more serious than before.
"We don't have a choice," said April as they moved as quickly as possible.
They made it to the sewer. Her body endured the blunt of it with the poison in her body.
"Marissa! April!" The turtles called as they rushed to her aid.
Marissa coughed up some more blood.
"Marissa!" The turtles screamed as they reached her.
Donnie looked her over. "We have to get her home so I can treat her," he said.
She looked anxious as her breath panted. Trying really hard to breathe.
"I'll take her from here," said Karai in the tunnel. Thankfully, they were not at the lair.
"You're not getting her!" Raph said as he prepared to fight back. "Donnie, go!"
Marissa looked ready to pass out. She took a moment to look at them trying to keep her eyes open. Donnie nodded and got ready to run away. Unfortunately, a Foot bot blocked him.
"Hand over my sister and I'll leave you alone for now," said Karai.
"She's not your sister!" Raph yelled. At the same time, Leo looked upset.
She held her breath. She wondered what she should say. She took an even deeper breath. "I… feel like I'm gonna die."
Hearing her, Karai declared, "I'll save you."
And then a Foot Bot threw a smoke bomb. Everyone coughed as the smoke filled their lungs. Donnie someone shove him before the smoke cleared. And by the time it did, Karai and the bots were gone. Marissa however seemed to have used something to land onto the ground.
"Hopefully the toy will fool them long enough." She said through her pants. "Can we head home…."
"Okay," said Leo as he lifted her onto his back. "Come on. I've got you."
They walked back after that.
Lair
Marissa was resting and fighting the poison, her body shivering and her coughing up blood.
"Poor girl," said April. "Maybe we should get her to the hospital."
"Even if we did, she'd just run away," Raph remarked.
"She's practically dying!" April insisted.
"Donnie's doing his best to stabilize her," said Leo. "Besides, we don't want her to run out before Splinter tells her the truth at least."
"You mean about him being her father?" said April.
Right on cue Splinter returned and rushed over. He made some hand signs and chanted. He then placed his glowing hands on her stomach. Marissa seemed to start breathing more easily.
She opened her eyes as she held out her hand. "Thank you."
Splinter took her hand and stroked her head lovingly. He smiled and said, "You will be alright, my daughter."
She smiled gently before closing her eyes and sleeping. She looked so peaceful as she slept.
"Thank you for finding her, my son's," said Splinter.
"Always, sensei," said Mikey. "She's our sister."
"I had no idea you had another daughter," said April.
They looked concerned and then Marissa opened her eyes.
"Mari! You're okay!" Mikey cheered as he hugged her.
"Yeah." She hugged him back." Sorry if I worried you."
"All's well," said Mikey.
"What was the deal with Karai calling you her sister?" Raph asked.
She took a moment before speaking. "I don't know."
Splinter let out a sigh and said, "There's something I wanted to tell you, Marissa. I was going to before, but you left."
"What is it?" Marissa asked.
"Marissa, I am your father," he said.
She looked surprised but her eyes calmed. "I see."
"I'm probably not the father you would have hoped for," said Splinter. "But my love for you is real. As was your mother's, before she passed."
She hugged him much to their surprise and they heard crying.
"It's okay, my child. Let it all out," Splinter said in a kind voice as he hugged her and rubbed her back. "You're with your family. We will take care of you."
"And we love you, sis," said Mikey. That was how the day went.
