He'd been alone for so long...Everyone he knew was a long time gone. He's been winting for so many centuries. And he thought he'd gonna have to wait at least a few more centuries .
But...
That morning is gonna be something special.
Now, when he's got old, Merlin could smell the change in the air. He smelled something new, but, at the same time, something so familiar.
He sat in the cafe, drinking to his tea. He tried to stay unrememberable to the others. If they knew that he was Merlin, the most famous wizard from the TV and movies. He smiled. Merlin couldn't believe that only the small fragment of his life got famous. He didn't feel like the great wizard! Not at all! He was still a servant. The servant of the King Arthur!
He was his best friend! He was his only friend despite all the time he spent at this planet.
And he missed him! He missed Gwen, Gaius, the Knights... They were gone for such a long time.
Sometimes, like that day, he liked to remembers. They were still very alive in his mind, in his memory. Also, due the time, he's got a new power. He could recreate a memories into the glass of the water. So, today he sat, and he looked at his cup of the tea. He never knew where his memory could take him. He didn't have a control upon it, as much as he tried.
This time, his memory took him to that day. The day he's tried to avoid. The day of the Arthur's death.
Arthur's last words were still very alive despite the time.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
It was like a clock this time. Or... Like a heartbeats.
Suddenly, Merlin saw something in the cup. Something out of his memory.
It was Freya. She smiled at him like so many centuries ago. And she held something in her hands! Excalibur!
Merlin's got up out the chair he sit, slipping out the tea. He looked at the water from the tea, but Freya was gone.
Some people asked if he was alright, bit it seemed like he wasn't listening to them. He apologized and left the money for the tea.
He needed to be somewhere else! He knew that!
With the rush, he came at the point he was looking for – Avalon! Although he was there only a couple days ago, today it looked completely different. The flowers blossom were all over the place, celebrating the new life. Or old in this case.
He looked around! Finally he saw him! He wore the same armour sheild, and he didn't aged at all.
-You're late, Merlin! Alright, nothing from those two days off!, Said Arthur, with the smile on his face and running into the arms of his old friend.
