"You really shouldn't judge someone by first impressions…" Anna mumbled to herself, writing on a journal that she's recently bought. Looking up away from the notebook, she sees the familiar gunman that always stuck near her. "I can't believe how very kind of a person Lance actually is…" She mumbled again. "I've always thought of him as someone who is very arrogant, narcissistic, and is overall just a jerk who doesn't care about other people, excluding the other two. And yet…" Anna started thinking to herself again. With her eyes still open, she noticed that Lance was waving at her with a smile. Something that she's always thought that he never did. Without hesitation, she greeted him back with a wave, and a smile of her own. The boy walked towards her.
"Hey, Anna! What are you doing?" He asked the girl, who quickly covered her book with both her arms. "I'm just… writing some stuff…" She hid the book between her legs, and her body. "Hm? What are you writing?" Lance asked, sitting in front of her. Anna kept quiet for a while, just looking around in different directions, and avoiding eye contact. "I-it's nothing important…" She twirled her hair. The gunner raised his left eyebrow, looking a little annoyed.
"Come on..! What is it about..?" Lance moved to sit beside Anna, who tightened her hold on the book. "I'm telling you, it's nothing..!" She tried to move around, making sure that the book stayed protected. After a while of struggling, the boy let out a defeated sigh. He gave up, and just lied on the ground, resting his head on the girl's lap.
"Is it about me?" He asked with his eyes closed. Again, Anna kept silent for a moment. "N-no…" She stuttered, receiving another sigh from her friend. "It IS about me!" Lance exclaimed, giving the girl a very familiar and annoying grin. "I told you that it isn't!" Anna pouted, before flicking the boy's forehead. Lance flinched, but kept his grin. Finally, he opened his eyes.
"Well, whatever you write there about me, make sure to include how awesome and smart I am, okay?" He lightly pinched both of the girl's cheeks. "gah… I told you… Just… forget about it…" Anna gave up, and just let her friend win. Lance kept his victorious grin, and played with the girl's face some more. "Seriously, though…" He heard the girl mumble, and instantly listened. "I still didn't imagine you to be like this…" Anna looked down at Lance with a smile on her face. "Uh… what do you mean..?" He asked. "Well…"
"I mean that… When we first met, you really looked like the least likeable person that I've ever met…" She began to explain. "Mh..?" Lance kept his ears open. "But… I'll be honest when I say that… you're actually a very good person…" She focused her look on the boy. Suddenly, she's noticed his red eyes. They were wide open, as his face slowly turned red too. Anna felt her heart skip a bit. "u-uh, I-I mean t-that… uh… surprisingly… I actually do like you… you know..?" She swiftly looked away, hiding her own face, which started to turn red as well. Lance stayed quiet for a second, before quietly clearing his throat.
"I guess… I'm also surprised..." He began to talk. "The first time I saw you, you seemed to be way too confident, and will just be a burden to the team…" Lance cleared his throat again. "But… I'd say you're probably one of the strongest people I know…" He turned his head to another direction as well. "I like you too…"
Both stayed quiet for a while, just listening to nature around them. Though they both felt a bit awkward, they couldn't deny the niceness that they were feeling. It was unexplainable, but it was definitely something that they both felt. "I'm happy…" Lance heard Anna say, all of a sudden. He looked up, and saw nothing but the girl's green hair. Again, she was looking away. "Well… I'm happy too…" He said, finally sitting back up, and getting his head off of the girl's lap.
"You know… Now I'm actually curious…"
"What do you think did Matt and Natalie think about you when they first met you… What was their first impression..?" Anna finally looked back at the boy. "Well, it is definitely way more negative than what you thought of me" Lance snorted. "Remember… I was on a mission to rule over the world, and I fought them both" He explained. Anna nodded, and laughed. "So most likely, they thought I was a lunatic, and was a complete nut-job…" The gunner sighed.
"They probably thought I couldn't be changed when they defeated me…"
"Hm?" Anna curiously hummed. "But hey… look at me now..!" He said with a weak smile. The green-haired girl couldn't help but frown. She just kept listening, though. "My first impression about them was that Matt was a big beefy hindrance, and was scarily powerful, while Natalie was nothing but his beautiful girlfriend, which had no skill whatsoever…" He rubbed his temple. "Truth be told, I didn't expect how accepting Matt was, and how strong Natalie really was!" Lance smiled, looking up at the girl. She smiled too, feeling the boy's liveliness again.
"They definitely will be together, though…" He looked back behind him, and observed as the other two played around with their cat companion. Anna looked too, smiling at the scene. "You know… we had similar thoughts…" She began to speak. Lance looked back at the girl. "I thought Matt was just a thief, which was just a hindrance in my quest to get the jewel back, and Natalie… Well, you know… I thought she was also Matt's pretty girlfriend…" She sweatdropped, rubbing the back of her head. "Hehe… then you found out how powerful they were, right?" Lance gave the girl a smile. "I'm glad Matt didn't fight back…"
"Hahaha!"
The two looked back at their teammates. Again, they were playing with NoLegs. Suddenly, Matt turned his head to their direction. Quickly, a grin formed on his face. He gave a thumbs up to Lance, who curiously raised his eyebrow. With a glance to Anna, Matt made a kissy face. "Wha-!" Lance and Anna both exclaimed. They looked at each other for a brief moment, before quickly looking away again. "You Little..!" The boy pulled out his gun. Matt put out his tongue out, before running away. Natalie just looked from afar, laughing alongside NoLegs.
As Lance began to chase down Matt, Anna looked back at her journal. "Clearly…" She mumbled to herself, writing down what she had just said. With another glance at Lance, she looked back down at her notebook. "You shouldn't judge someone so quickly…" She mumbled, feeling her cheeks grow red.
