Hey, lovelies. It's been awhile huh? I'm sorry for being so inactive these past months, it's just long story short my mental health has taken a major hit since July and I just hadn't felt like writing and when I did something would come up. Mainly my dad who has been home since July and is the main reason why I haven't done anything since then. So it's taken some time to get my headspace back to where it was.
I thank you all for the support you've given me with this little series and my other works, it's driving me to want to come back and write again. Thank you all so much, so I'm happy to bring y'all this fourth installment in the "And Then There Were Three" series!
So we kind of picked up where we left off in a sense, we're at six months now, which means one thing, we're revealing what Alec and Magnus will be having, the name and a photoshoot! I will explain what the fifth fanfic will be about, as we get closer to the later months in Magnus's pregnancy.
Also the title I know, but it just wouldn't leave me alone so I had to do it, after all they deserve unending happiness.

Sunlight streams through the half closed curtains, filling Alec and Magnus's bedroom with a light golden glow.
Magnus was already awake, due to being unable to sleep.
Not from discomfort or anything, just his excitement for today kept him from sleeping late as he would've done (also having to get up and use the bathroom at random times during the night as well but mainly it was the excitement for today.)
He'll explain why his excitement was high in a moment.
Now usually Alec would be up right along with him, but even the events that were going to happen later today couldn't keep him from sleeping so deeply.
Alec had been doing late work nights for a few nights now and it was finally catching up with him, he was fast asleep last night as soon as his head hit the pillow.
So hence why the sunlight coming in through the curtains, the both of them had forgotten to completely close earlier wasn't bothering him.
Too tired and content to even grumble about it like he normally would've done if he saw even a tiny speck of light in their room.
Although being too tired didn't stop Alec from cuddling him close, nope in fact even when Alec was extra exhausted, he became more of a cuddler, a human octopus. Magnus didn't mind it at all, he loved it so much.
Like right now Alec had one arm curled around him, while his hand rested on his swollen stomach where their child was resting, so loving and protective of his family even in his sleep, making sure they were secured.
It never failed in making Magnus's insides melt with the warmth of Alec's deep love for him and their child he's carrying now.
He doesn't want to break away from this comfort, no it just felt too good.
Though eventually he'll have to, because the urge to use the bathroom might hit soon and Catarina is expecting them back in New York later in the day.
Which brings him to why he's been awake since probably about seven thirty a.m.
Today is the day where they'd finally learn their baby's gender.
Naturally one would be too hyped up to get a lot of sleep, because learning what they'll be having was too exciting. They'd already settled on two names for their little one and would be decided later after seeing the ultrasound.
And after that, later in the week he and Alec will be having their first photoshoot, which most people didn't do until around the eighth month when the bump is the most perfect.
But they decided they couldn't wait and also thought it'd be the perfect time to announce the gender and their little one's name to their family members.
Also who's to say they wouldn't want to do more photoshoots after this one?
The baby shower was still in the works, but it's close to getting done with a minor set back here and there. He and Alec got easily distracted by all of the adorable baby outfits while on an outing with Isabelle during one of their meetups to discuss said baby shower.
(They ended up buying some clothes after agreeing not to until after the sixth month ultrasound.)
While the nursery was still very undecided with a family filled with warlocks, it'd be done very quickly no matter how late in the pregnancy they decided on a theme for their little one's room.
Yeah, a lot has been going on since they broke the news of their little one to their family and as they get closer to the later months of the pregnancy.
But it's so worth it, their little one will be here with them soon.
As if on cue the baby knows they're being talked about, Magnus's stomach growls, a craving for Alec's waffles overcomes him and he feels the tingling of the baby's magic before looking down at his bump to see the purple sparks covering Alec's hand.
Magnus chuckled, placing his hand on top of Alec's, the sparks spread to his hand now. "Ahh, you awake now too, my little one?"
A little flicker of magic and Magnus's nails changed from the black to purple. Their little one has been active with their magic ever since it came to the surface a month ago, a sign of them becoming more secure with their magic.
Catarina said it'd only get stronger as time grew on, she was right and soon their little one might start conjuring things from inside him.
He was kind of expecting maybe a kick from their little one, being just a little bit over six months, (right at twenty two weeks).
But like with their little one's magical energy, he was already counting on being surprised when they least expected it to happen.
He could wait on feeling their little one kick, as long as they were healthy and being active with magic, he could wait.
The baby's magic flowed up his arm and to his face, going over his cheek, what felt like a small hand touching him softly. Magnus's heart stuttered at this, tears already trying to well up in his eyes, the baby has done this before a few times and Magnus knew this was the baby's way of saying 'I love you'.
"I love you too, little one you're so amazing you know that?" Of course the baby does, he and Alec repeatedly say it all of the time. But still they can't help saying it.
Magnus's thumb caressed the back of Alec's hand softly, as the magic from their baby flowed over Magnus's cheek once more before slowly sliding back down to their hands, where the sparkles settled for several minutes.
And apparently the baby decides right then, that both of their parents should be up, and does the same thing that they did with Magnus to Alec with their magic.
Magnus turned his head some, to watch as the magic danced up Alec's arm, the baby did that before, Magnus remembers how it felt like someone tickling him. It seems to be the same for Alec, 'cause he shifted his body some, grumbling and trying to bury his face into the pillow.
Muffling a giggle at this, Magnus knows where this is going.
The baby continues to the path up to Alec's face, no burying face into the pillow or Magnus's neck will help now. The magic flows over Alec's face, causing him to shift his body more, wrinkle up his nose and grunt lightly.
The magic stays there for about three minutes until Alec shows signs of being on the edge of waking up.
It tickles more at Alec's nose, he wrinkles it up and then more than ten seconds later.
Alec turned his head just in time to sneeze loudly into the pillow, jerking himself awake instantly.
Alec sniffled, lifting his head up from the pillow, probably wondering what the hell happened, having the most adorable sleepy expression on his face as he tried to gather the thoughts in his head.
Their little one's magic hovered near Alec's face before moving toward him, suddenly Alec felt a light touch on his face and immediately recognized the touch, it felt like Magnus's but yet at the same time so different then Magnus's magic.
"Oh," Alec let out a loud yawn before speaking. "I should've known it was you little one, decided to wake up your dad huh? Good morning to you too."
Alec felt a small tap against his cheek, in reply. A small smile spreads across his face. "I love you too, little one."
The magic lingered for a moment before receding back down to their hands, then disappeared but Magnus is sure that it'll be back shortly.
Alec stretched his body as best as he could, with his arm wrapped around Magnus's body. A moan escaping before seeing that Magnus was already awake, assuming the baby had woken him up too.
"Hey, baby. Good morning," Alec said, leaning down to smooch his husband's cheek then his bare shoulder. "Did the little one wake you up too?"
Magnus sighed, contently. "Good morning to you too, Alexander and no they didn't. I've been up for a while now, just been looking forward today to going back to sleep."
Alec felt his heart flood with emotions, yeah today. Today's the day they'll find out their little one's gender. Like holy shit it feels like yesterday they just found out about them and now here they're just hours away from finding out what they will be having.
Hard to believe that three months have just flown by like that.
(Soon enough their baby will be here.)
"Yeah, same here too baby. I can't believe that it's happening today. It just seems like yesterday we found out," Alec told him, voicing some of his thoughts. fingers stroking the light stretch marks that were beginning to appear on Magnus's sides, placing another kiss to his bare shoulder.
Magnus's heart swelled at the pure happiness in Alec's voice -honestly it'll never fail in doing so- coming to the conclusion that he needs to be facing his husband right now.
Alec lets Magnus move around in his hold, taking his hand away as Magnus positions himself onto his back for a moment then gently shifting onto his other side, facing Alec now, his bump pressing against Alec's flat one.
And just like that Alec's breath is just taken away by Magnus's beauty, but truthfully when is he not ever taken back by how beautiful his husband is?
But he's said before somehow the pregnancy glow has just intensified his beauty. He's just so fucking beautiful.
He's just so lucky to have him, and all of this.
Of course he can't stop his mind from saying how he feels, his hand coming back to Magnus's stomach and caressing softly. "You're so beautiful, kitten. Just so beautiful."
Magnus felt his whole body heat up slightly from hand caressing and comment, the damn hormones, (as if it wasn't like that before but it's only gotten more stronger as the further he gets in the pregnancy.) "Alexander-" is all he gets out.
"I know what you're going to say, baby, I know that I've said it so many times but I mean it . You're so beautiful, you're glowing so brightly it's like I'm staring at the sun. You're just so beautiful, carrying the life we created together. I love you so much." Alec admitted, so many emotions shining in his eyes.
Well shit on top of feeling horny, now he feels like he's going to cry again. "Alexander, I- fuck I love you too." That's all he can say, Alec made him speechless once again.
Alec's large hand slid up from his stomach to his face, cupping softly and bringing him forward for a kiss that held so much emotion.
Naturally, this kiss, like most of theirs half of the time, becomes more heated. Nips at the lips, making the other groan into the kiss, Alec's hand moves down to Magnus's sensitive and swollen chest, running his thumb over the nipple and that causes Magnus to let out a whine, opening his mouth, a spark of pleasure shooting down to his cock, which was already on the way of becoming fully hard.
Alec took his chance and slipped his tongue inside, rubbing it against Magnus's, deepening their kiss and drawing more whimpers from Magnus, who's trying to rock forward as carefully as he can with his belly.
It seems to last forever and just as they were trying to take things to the next level, they're interrupted by Magnus's stomach growling loudly, making them pull apart and stare at each other for a moment, before laughing.
"Ahh, it seems you're hungry, kitten." Alec stated, sitting up in the bed and was about ready to toss the covers over.
Magnus hummed, aching all over with the need for Alec inside of him to give relief from the pleasure he felt. "In many ways, Alexander."
Alec smiled, and pecked his lips. "And you will have me, as soon as I get you fed. How does that sound?"
Magnus thought it over for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah it does, get a move on Alexander, the sooner we eat, the sooner you can have your way with me in the shower."
Alec shuddered, feeling himself hardened more if it was even possible. The shower is one of their favorite places, they wouldn't be able to do it for much longer, so they were taking the chances while they had them. His mind goes over the images of rubbing hands down Magnus's body, making him come undone at first by using his hands to play with Magnus's chest.
(Magnus had just started lactating a few weeks ago, accidentally discovered during one of their roleplaying sessions.
He had just been playing around with Magnus's chest, like he usually does and he had squeezed just right then, that made Magnus cry out in pure pleasure and he felt something wet on his hands, looked down and saw very light white liquid on them.
They knew straight away that it was milk.
Needless to say, it was just as he and Magnus imagined it'd be.)
After that, Alec would make him come with his mouth and then finally on his cock.

Alec leaned down and kissed Magnus once more, who grinned at him as he pulled away. "Yeah, yeah I'll be back in about six minutes."
Magnus nodded again, watching his husband hop up from the bed, only wearing his underwear and basically run out of the room and to the kitchen.
He couldn't help the giggle escaping from his lips and smiled. He loves his husband so damn much.

It's mid afternoon, when Alec and Magnus finally arrived at the quiet ward in Catarina's hospital, the portal closing behind them as soon as they step out of it.
Alec's hand squeezed Magnus's tightly, making him turn his head to look at his husband, who's smiling at him but he could see that Alec was ready to burst out of his skin, Magnus felt the same.
The moment had finally come, this was it- they were about to find out.
Alec brought his hand up to his lips and kissed the knuckles. "You ready, baby?"
Magnus returned his smile with an exhale. "Very ready, Alexander."
Alec kissed his hand again before leaning forward and pressing one to his cheek. "Let's go see our baby, sweetheart."
Unable to resist, pecking each other's lips one more time, before they began making their way down the quiet hallway in search of Catarina.
They took a few turns down some of the corridors until they turned down one and saw Catarina way at the end, standing next to what surely was the ultrasound machine, marking off something on her clipboard.
Keeping their pace the same, they made their way towards her. Magnus called out to his best friend, his sister. "Catarina!"
Catarina turned her head towards them, beaming once seeing who it was. "Magnus, Alec. You're right on time!"
When they approached her, she embraced Magnus in a tight hug, her clipboard pressing right against his chest. "How are you?"
Magnus returned her embrace, just as tightly. "Just wonderful, Catarina."
She replied with a 'that's good' before pulling away and proceeded to give Alec a quick hug.
Once she's finished with the hugs, she pulls back and places her hand on top of the machine. "How ecstatic are you for today?"
Magnus breathed out, "Catarina, I can't even begin to explain it."
Alec nodded his head in agreement. "Yeah, it just can't be. We just don't want to wait a minute longer."
"Well, you'll have to wait just about five," Catarina stated, then she pointed to the door behind her. "You know the drill, I'll be right behind you."
Magnus takes a hold of Alec's hand and leads them to the room that Catarina pointed to.
Alec pushed open the door, revealing the empty room. It's the same as the others they've been in before, except the bed is facing another way.
They've to rotate rooms every visit to ensure that none of Catarina's coworkers would find out about the pregnancy and the Shadow world of course.
Magnus walked over to the bed, he released Alec's hand for a moment so he could get onto the bed.
Once on it, Magnus shifted around before lifting up the flowy top he wore today, revealing his swollen stomach.
He's been wearing a lot of flowy tops lately, Since they were much easier on his chest, although he's a bit less achy and sensitive since he started leaking.
And he loved his flowy tops.
Alec came up beside the bed, interlacing one hand with Magnus's, while the other hand cradled his stomach.
He stroked Magnus's belly tenderly, his eyes filled with the pure, unconditional love for him and their little one.
Once again Magnus feels choked up at the sight of this. He'll never get over the fact that he has all of this.
Not when for centuries he thought that he never would.
"I love you, Alexander," Magnus told his husband, who turned his glance to him from his stomach and grinned.
"I love you too, baby." Alec leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of his head.
The two of them shared a moment, not even paying attention to Catarina who had rolled the ultrasound machine in and was already done clicking around with the settings. She picked up the wand and gel, turning to face the two, ready to speak but the sight made her stop.
Catarina couldn't help but to stare at Magnus and Alec, seeing just how happy Magnus looked in that moment. For years that's all she, Ragnor and Raphael wanted was to see him happy with someone who loved him as much as he loved them.
It's a shame she had to break up the moment by clearing her throat to catch their attention. But they were on a tight schedule, lunch time was nearly over, and soon the OB/GYN would be returning and they might notice one of the machines was missing.
"Sorry to break this up, love birds." She apologized.
Alec nodded his head, taking his hand away from the bump, seeing that she had the wand and gel in hand. "Oh right sorry."
"We just got caught up," Magnus said.
Catarina smiled. "It's fine, Magnus. Ready to see your baby again?"
They both nodded very eagerly, reminding her of three months prior at the first ever ultrasound although she knew today would be more emotional. "Yes!" Alec and Magnus exclaimed at the same time.
That made her chuckle. "Alright, you know that the gel is going to be a bit cold, Magnus."
Although Magnus has done this quite a few times, he still hisses from the chill the gel gives him, goosebumps appearing on his skin. Then Catarina is bringing up the wand to his bump, he gives Alec's hand a squeeze as the wand slides across the gel.
Now it only takes Catarina a couple of seconds to find their baby, and there they are on the screen perfectly in view. Now Alec and Magnus could see their child's entire body, and right now it looked like their little one was sucking on their thumb and had their leg sticking out.
"Oh- hi our perfect little one," Magnus said, heart skipping beats, squeezing Alec's hand tightly holding back tears.
Alec sniffled. "Hi, we love you so much little one, so much."
And in reply to their words, the baby on the screen, takes their thumb out and to them looks like they wave at their parents on the screen.
Well that just makes the tears release from the both of them, Magnus sniffed, wiping them from his face as Catarina clicked a few buttons on the machine, taking more pictures of the baby.
Alec pressed more kisses to Magnus's head, repeating how much he loved Magnus.
Catarina waited a moment before turning to them. "Everything still looks the same as the last ultrasound and magical scan readings, baby's starting to get bigger, their development is right on track."
"That's good, that's really good Catarina," Magnus wiped his face, tears still falling, Alec just nodded, unable to find words at the moment.
"Alright, here comes the next part, you are ready to find out the gender?" Catarina asked.
"Yes, Cat, yes." Magnus answered for the both of them, he feels like his voice is gonna crack soon from the emotions.
She turned back to the machine's screen. "Now I think I can tell from this angle but I want to be sure so we're gonna try to find another one." She told them and began to move the wand around, trying to find a different one.
It took a minute, but Catarina finally found the perfect angle, a smile spreading across her face. "Well this angle confirms it..."
This is it- this is the moment. Magnus thought, his heart skipping more beats now, looking up at Alec who has this expression on his face that Magnus is sure he has too.
They turned their attention back towards the screen, they weren't able to make anything out from their spot.
Catarina's glance moved away from the screen and back towards them. "Alright should I go ahead and tell you, or do you want to take guesses before I do?"
Alec and Magnus locked eyes once more with each other and instantly came to the conclusion that, yes- they wanted to take a guess.
"By that look you both are giving each other, it's clear that it's a yes you want to guess." Catarina spoke up, breaking them away from their eye contact.
"You guessed right, Catarina. We do and Alec you should go first," Magnus said, he's very sure Alec has the same guess as he does.
"Me?- well," Alec took a deep breath before continuing. "My heart says our little one's a girl. Just when I talked to them I always imagined a little girl, looking just like Magnus, staring back at me."
Magnus felt his heart stop for a moment, more tears building back up- Alec did have the same guess as him, and he pictured their baby looking just like him. Just oh God it was so much.
"Magnus? Magnus baby," Alec's hand cupped his cheek, thumb stroking away the tears. "Are you alright?"
Magnus smiled through the tears, voice cracking as he spoke. "Yeah, I'm okay Alexander, just that last bit made me emotional- just I can't find the words to say."
"Oh baby," Alec leaned forward pressing a tender kiss to his lips then he rests their foreheads together, nothing is said, but yet they basically say everything they need to with this action.
Magnus took a second to gather his thoughts before opening his mouth. "Also- Alexander, we've the same guess. My heart says our little one's a girl, ever since we found out I'm pregnant, that's probably why we had so many names to narrow down." He lets out a small chuckle.
Alec chuckled as well, eyes twinkling. "Yeah that's probably why."
Magnus pecked his lips again, pulling his head away from Alec, then glanced over at Catarina, who was trying to keep her face unreadable to him. "Okay, Catarina we made our guesses, now you can tell us."
Catarina breathed in deeply. "Well.. you two- it's very clear that you both guessed right."
Both Magnus and Alec's breathing came to a halt, hearing those words- oh, they, they are having a daughter?
"Congratulations, you're having a daughter." Catarina confirmed, another grin overcoming her features.
All of the emotions that had been threatening to spill over, finally did. The tears didn't stop flowing, Magnus reached for Alec's face pulling him in for another kiss that he poured his emotions into.
Alec poured everything into the kiss, making them both feel overwhelmed. He also took breaks in between smooches muttering the words. "I love you, I love you and our little girl so much, my soul aches with it."
Magnus managed to say the words back in between kisses. "You too, love you both so much too. My heart can't take it, Alexander." And all that follows is more kisses, those words they said are enough right now.
A daughter, we're going to have a little girl.
This couldn't be anymore perfect.

The photoshoot appointment that Magnus had made a month earlier took place on a warm Sunday afternoon in a field somewhere in New York, almost a week after the ultrasound with Catarina.
He and Alec had been looking forward to this photoshoot.
Because it'd be their first family photo with their daughter, (and there were going to be a lot more after this) and they planned on doing a reveal in the photoshoot, surprising their family members.
That they were expecting a daughter.
And the name they had chosen for their daughter.
Although it was hard, trying to keep the secret until the pictures were developed, then sent out to them. Their family knew that they were finding out that day, they didn't ask, when they called later on but still it was hard not to blurt it out, especially Alec.
Because his husband couldn't keep secrets. He's getting better like he's said but still really can't keep them that good.
But they managed and here they are.
In a large set up tent a large divider between him and Alec, 'cause it's difficult trying to get dressed when all you wanted to do once your eyes gaze upon your husband and all you wanted to do after was undress them before he even finished getting dressed.
Alec's on the other side. He can't see him, but Magnus knows he's in the middle of probably buttoning up his shirt- almost ready he was, only his makeup left to be done.
He had kept the outfit a small secret from Alec, he did know that it'd be a gown but he didn't know how it'd look, that Magnus eventually settled on while browsing through the internet.
Magnus knew Alec would love it, just like all of his other pieces, he's shown Alec since their honeymoon.
After thinking it over for a minute, Magnus had the perfect look, in mind he wanted and snapped his fingers. Now his face was covered with light makeup, light purple eyeshadow in the lids of his eyes, gold eyeliner to bring it out, lips covered with gloss that has a purple tint to it and gone are his darker highlights, lighter ones the same color as his eyeshadow and gown.
Giving his entire look another once over, he was happy and ready for this.
Just then, there was a knock on the divider and Alec's voice soon followed behind it. "Magnus? Kitten, are you ready?"
This is it- time for Alec to see his outfit. "Yeah, you can move the divider, dear."
There's a shuffle as the divider pushes back, revealing Alec looking handsome as ever. Hair wavy as it looked at their wedding, the light purple, short sleeve button up, hugged his muscles just right and showed his arms off.
He looked so good. Magnus bit his lip, as a shiver ran down his spine. Not now, hormones.
Alec's mouth dropped open and his eyes went wide, at the sight in front of him.
Magnus smiled, yep same reaction as before and what he was going for. "Alexander, how do I look?"
How- how good did he look, fuck he looked amazing as always. Alec thought, left speechless. He knew Magnus was going to be wearing a gown but he was still unprepared. But honestly when is he prepared?
The gown- Magnus's wearing was a light purple that matched Alec's button up, it was sleeveless and didn't have those thin straps that Alec was familiar with, the top fitted Magnus's swollen chest just perfectly. The front had a slit right in the middle, showing off his belly and the way the sides were- it reminded him of the baby doll lingerie.
Same fabric and all but it was longer and the bottoms Magnus was wearing that looked like underwear matched.
Like he said before Magnus looked amazing- wait beautiful and he wanted nothing more than to take Magnus into his arms and worship him, make him feel so good.
Alec couldn't do that right now, they had a photoshoot- but afterward he would've the chance.
But for now he could settle for smooching the hell out of his beautiful husband.
Alec swallowed, before speaking his voice was rough and deep, showing more of the effect Magnus had on him. "You- fuck you look stunning. Magnus, just so fucking stunning."
Magnus's smile widened, twirling around once, so Alec could get the full view. "Exactly what I was aiming for, as well as your reaction to it. You come here, I know you want to hold and kiss me."
Not needing to be told twice, Alec closed the distance between them, taking Magnus fully into his arms and wrapped them around his waist, pulling Magnus close until their stomachs touched, He brought Magnus in for a slow, sweet and tender kiss.
And that's how it stays, they kissed for what seemed like ages until they felt the need to breathe and had to break it up. Alec rested his forehead against Magnus's as they took deep breaths in.
The moment just felt so wonderful.
"I mean it, kitten, you look gorgeous. Just fuck- I can't wait for later on when we're alone . I'm going to worship you," Alec's voice made Magnus's body shudder with anticipation when they were back at their loft.
Magnus bit his lip. "I'm looking forward to that, Alexander."
Alec smiled, leaning in for another kiss, when a voice speaks up near the opening of the tent. "Magnus? Alec? Is it alright for me to come in?"
"It's okay, Sylvie you can come in. We're done," Magnus answered, kissing Alec's lips quickly. "I'm really looking forward to tonight, can't wait for it."
"Hmm, got so much planned for you," is all Alec gets to say, Magnus had to repress a shiver as Sylvie opened the tent and made her way inside.
Sylvie has been a close friend of Magnus's for the better part of thirty years, she's a Seelie and a very talented photographer, her business highly rated amongst the Shadow and mundane world, she was always so busy, but managed. She even on short notice did the pictures at their wedding
"Magnus, you're just positivity glowing." Sylvie stated when she finally sees him all dressed up, even with his front half still pressed up against Alec's and his arms wrapped around Magnus's waist.
Magnus beamed at her compliment, turning his body to face her, Alec repositioned his arms, keeping one around Magnus's waist. "Thank you Sylvie, is it time for the photoshoot?"
She nodded her head. "Yep, that's what I was coming here for- the sunlight is just perfect for the photoshoot, so I'm ready whenever you are."
"We're totally ready, right Alexander?" Magnus asked, Alec nodded in agreement, a 'yep' escaping his mouth.
A smile spreads across her face. "Okay, let's get this show on the road, follow me to the set up, since this is such an open field we'll be able to get a lot of different pictures."
And with that they were off, Sylvie leading the way towards the location where she had all of her equipment set up. Alec and Magnus held hands along the way, listening to Sylvie explain her plans for the photoshoot.
"We already discussed the poses at our last meeting, but not this so I thought we could do the couple shots first, then we do a few single shots of Magnus and then we finally do the reveal shots. How does that sound?" Sylvie asked, turning around to face them while still walking but backwards now.
"Sounds perfect," both he and Alec answered at the same time, drawing a chuckle from her.
"Thought you would both agree." And the rest of the walk was in silence until they approached an area with a large tree and a field of flowers beginning to bloom beside it. It's so far away from the tent Sylvie uses, that when they try to see it, it looks like a blur from their position.
"Okay, the first few shots will be by the tree then we move to the field for the others." She said, walking over to the table that all of her equipment was resting. Different cameras, lenses- you name it she had it there.
Both Alec and Magnus walked over to the tree, as she got her camera ready for the photoshoot. Alec leaned his body against the tree, Magnus standing very close to him, the sunlight shined just right on his husband- somehow making him even more breathtaking.
Alec's mind recalled his words from earlier that week, how when he looked at Magnus it was like looking at the sun- he knew that it was already true but the sun just wanted to prove it even more right now.
Magnus wasn't paying attention to Alec- until he felt someone staring and gazed over at Alec, like always his heart skipped a beat and he felt warm seeing the expression of adoration on Alec's face.
Alec stared at him like he was the whole universe to him, (Alec was the same to him.)
"Did I tell you how much I love you today?" Alec questioned, reaching out to lace his hand with Magnus's.
Magnus hummed, putting on a cute thinking face with pouty lips that Alec just wants to kiss again. "Why, yes you have Alexander- many times."
"Well you are going to hear me tell you again, Magnus Lightwood-Bane," Alec told him, Magnus stepped closer to him. "I love you, I love you and our daughter- just so deeply."
Magnus's breath hitched and his eyes watered for a brief second. "Alexander," all he said before leaning in to kiss Alec softly.
It's a quick kiss, but it's still everything.
They pulled away, eyes closed, foreheads resting against each other. The feeling of content is heavy between them.
At that moment Sylvie had finished preparing her camera, lifting her head up to see the sight in front of her- the way they looked right then, hands laced together, touching foreheads and their eyes closed. It was heart touching, she could feel the deep bond and love.
It'd be perfect for a picture, but she decides against it- it doesn't feel right doing that.
She lets them have their moment, pretending to fiddle with her camera.
Alec and Magnus stayed like that for another minute, before pulling apart. Both of them turn towards Sylvie and see that she's finished setting up her camera, now fiddling with it to probably make sure the lens was on right.
As soon as they looked over at her, Sylvie lifted her up again and grinned. "Just making sure it was right, ready you two?"
They nodded their heads, she held up her camera and pointed with one hand. "Alright, first shot Alec lean more up against the tree, Magnus you lean against him and have him wrap his arms around you."
Alec pressed his body closer to the tree, and Magnus leaned back against his chest, following her directions, Alec wrapped his arms around Magnus, large hands rested on top of his bump, Magnus put his hands on top of Alec, tilting his head back onto Alec's shoulder, staring up at him while Alec looked back, both with the same look Sylvie had saw earlier.
"That's perfect, hold that," she told them, bringing up her camera, making sure everything was in focus before capturing the moment. She looked down and yes, it was a great shot. "That's a good one, we're gonna stay in this position for a few more shots, but you already know what to do."
And right they did, changing it up some, Alec pressed his forehead against Magnus's for the fourth time that day, eyes closed, noses brushed together that it made Magnus laugh softly. Sylvie quickly clicked the button at that time, again capturing the moment perfectly.
True to her word, they stayed against the tree for several more pictures. Changing what they were doing in between, one had them both kissing each other, the next was of them basically laughing into the camera, the last one before they changed spots, had them staring down at Magnus's stomach, both cradling it so tenderly.
"Alright! That was a great set," Sylvie said, looking down at her camera screen, clicking through the photos quickly before looking back up at them. "Okay, let's get some field shots, there will be more close ups there."
She led them over to the field, and positioned Alec and Magnus in the middle, where the sun was shining just right for this set and she stood back some. "Now stand face to face, let Magnus's belly touch yours."
Alec and Magnus did as she instructed, Magnus placed both of his hands onto his stomach. Alec decided to put his on the sides, locking gazes with each other once more.
The camera makes a loud click sound as she takes the photo, taking a sneak peak at it to make sure it wasn't blurry. "Now, let's get a closeup in this pose."
She took two steps forward, bringing her camera up to her face. Alec and Magnus leaned forward at the same time, lips meeting in a kiss as the camera went off.
The next one they took is kind of the same pose except Alec gets onto his knees so his face is right at Magnus's bump, Magnus holds his back, keeping one hand on his stomach, looking down at Alec as he pressed his lips onto his bare skin.
This happens to be one of their favorite poses because something about it- it just makes it feel so loving.
And then they move onto the next one, it's hugging from behind, basically the same one they did in the first set- except nobody would see it because this would be a closeup of their hands on Magnus's stomach.
It's one photo, but it's another favorite, their hands resting on top of his stomach in the shape of a heart.
After that this set seemed to fly by quickly, soon they were done with the couple set for now until the reveal set came. It's Magnus's turn for single pictures.
Alec stood back and watched, feeling nothing but love he had for his husband and child.
The first photos that Sylvie took of Magnus, were of him sitting on the ground on a blanket she had brought. Smiling looking down at his stomach, hands stroking it, expression carefree and just over all down to earth happy.
Then it was the belly profile poses, few where taken while Magnus was on the ground, staring off and not at the camera, sunlight catching him just right for the shot.
And the ones that followed were of Magnus standing up, holding his bump and either looking off in the distance or into the camera, making sure Sylvie had a good angle on his bump on everyone.
They were all perfect.
Ones after, were kind of random shots, some from far away and some were up close. Magnus was smiling or laughing in every single one, except for the one that was next to the last one in the set, he decided to look over where Alec stood out of Sylvie's way.
Their eyes locked as a small gust of wind suddenly came through, causing the long thin sides of the gown to raise up and flow behind Magnus, just as the camera went off.
He's said it a million times before and he will say it a million times more.
Magnus is beautiful, so damn beautiful.
"Okay, Magnus last one before the final set," Sylvie announced, gesturing Magnus to come closer then told him where to stop before, heading over to her table to pick up a step ladder and brought it back over to where Magnus stood, she climbed on top and began to get into position.
This one was a mix up of a close up and an above angle of Magnus's belly, different from the ones taken before.
It took a moment to ensure that the camera was centered right so nothing would be out of the frame's focus and then click!
"And done," she said, stepping down from the ladder and moving it off to the side in case they needed it for later usage. "I'm gonna go change the lens real quick for this set, I'll be right back." With that promise, she heads back over to her table and Alec puts his long legs to use, striding over to Magnus.
"Hey, dear," Magnus greeted, and Alec responded by cupping his face, planting a smooch on his lips then on his cheeks, gaining a wholehearted giggle from Magnus.
"Hello, honey." Alec greeted back, kissing his cheeks again, eyes glistening with fondness. "I know I've already said this but damn you're so beautiful, you're glowing with our baby."
Magnus lets out a hum, leaning into Alec's hand on his cheek. His heart swells with more of Alec's pure love for him, it's already so full he feels like it might burst.
Alec says this and how much he loves him all of the time, but yet he's still not used to it. Sometimes he still can't believe that he finally has this and wonders if it's all a dream.
But it isn't, it's real and he actually has everything he dreamed for- a family and a husband who loves him so deeply, doesn't judge him for anything and sticks beside him no matter what.
Magnus turned to kiss Alec's palm, then locked eyes on him again. "Alexander, I- I love you," that's all he can say, because that's what his heart feels.
Alec gives him a kiss that's sweet and tender, thumbs caressing his cheeks then he brushes his nose against Magnus's, making him chuckle lightly. "And I love you."
They didn't say anything else, just stared into each other's eyes, until they heard Sylvie clicking the new lens onto her camera in place, shortly followed by her footsteps coming to them. So they broke apart.
"Okay, time for the final shots! We're doing the standing up shots first from the normal distance with blooming flowers then we're doing sitting on the ground name reveal?" she asked, making sure she had it right.
Magnus nodded. "Yep, that's correct."
"Great!" She exclaimed, before pointing to a spot in the field. "So I'm gonna have you two stand right in the middle there, it's gonna be perfect and the pose is up to you."
Alec and Magnus followed to the spot she pointed out and stood there, Alec broke the silence by asking. "How about we do the hug from behind one first?"
"Hmm, sounds good, dear." Magnus answered, giving him a soft smile before they positioned themselves.
Alec embraced Magnus, one hand went underneath his bump, the other he placed on top. Magnus covered Alec's with his hands, tilting his head to bonk Alec's gently.
That made Alec chuckle, before planting another kiss to his cheek.
"Alright, I'm about to make the flowers bloom. Once that's done I'll count to three and we'll have it," Sylvie explained, and they shook their heads- or at least tried to, since they had their heads close together.
Sylvie rubbed her hands together, closing her eyes as she took a large deep breath in, drawing her magic from Earth's nature around her. It's a long moment before she opened her eyes and held out her hands, the dark green magic flowed from her palms at a steady pace passing them and to the field around them.
The pink flowers around them bloomed in full instantly as her magic touched them, they were roses and dahlias mixed together and very beautiful.
Her magic stayed on the flowers for a couple of seconds before slowly dissipating, Sylvie released the breath she had held in and lowered her hands back down to her camera.
She inhales and exhales a few times before turning her attention back onto them. "Ready? On my count-" she began, Alec and Magnus took their chance and gazed down at Magnus's belly, having the same look of pure happiness on their faces as the other pictures.
"One, two, three." There was a loud click! sound again, followed by a small flash of light. Sylvie looked at the photo, then gave a thumbs up. "Perfect, just a few more to go, once again poses are up to you."
He and Alec switched poses every other take, doing similar ones from the couple's set and adding in different ones they had used yet, they took a break just before they did the last one- which was the name reveal. Sylvie showed them a few slides from each set.
Magnus felt himself tear up at most up them, but he came close to letting a few slip when she got to the one of Alec kissing his stomach, then flicking to the next one that Alec had his head lifted up, eyes locked onto him.
(That one ended up becoming one of his favorites from the photoshoot.)
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Alec barely able to contain himself as she went through the slides of Magnus's single set, biting on his lip and eyes filling with more love, if that's even possible, for his family.
Suddenly, there was an overwhelming feeling of happiness coming from inside- oh their daughter decided to show him how she felt after being quiet, almost throughout the entire shoot. He places his hand on his stomach and strokes lovingly, in response.
Eventually, they got done looking through the slides and got ready to take the final shot of the set, which took place on the blanket Magnus had used earlier.
Sylvie brought over the stepping ladder, to get the above angle they had wanted for this one, so everyone could see the name they picked out.
Magnus was on his side, propped up against Alec, who has his arm around him once more, Magnus has one hand on his arm, the other is on the blanket. Alec's left hand is on his stomach, rubbing in small circles, the coolness from the metal of his wedding ring gave Magnus goosebumps despite the warm weather.
This moment right here was so relaxing and perfect.
It was a perfect note to end the photoshoot on.
Alec planted kisses to the side of his head. Magnus's stomach swooped and heart filled with warmth, he gave Alec's arm a squeeze, to which he felt Alec smile against his head and give him more kisses.
Yeah, like he said it was a perfect note to end on.
"All set! I just need to get the petals, then I'll count to three again," Sylvie announced. He and Alec already decided to stay in this position, 'cause they felt too comfortable to move.
She kept one hand on the camera, using the other to call upon Earth's magic again, controlling the wind this time, using it to gently pluck off petals from the flowers and drifting them over to the blanket. She swirled her hand around, the petals spelled out the name just how they wanted it.
Happy with how it looked, she began her countdown.
Alec and Magnus listened as she reached 'three', keeping their eyes locked down on the bump and the expressions of adoration on their faces, the familiar click went off for the final time that day. "And finished!"
Magnus was the first to move, getting off of his side, shifting until he was sitting properly on the ground, Alec sat up straighter, a gentle smile on his lips. Magnus gave him one of his own.
Sylvie is looking through the slides again, checking for any blurry ones- muttering to herself about something, what? They had no clue, 'cause she was doing it in a low tone they couldn't hear her.
Magnus's eyes soon drift over to the petals, oh- somehow it was even better then he imagined after hearing Alec's suggestion when they were going over ideas originally, the tears coming back again.
Well as if they ever really went away.
Magnus feels Alec shift closer to him, before he's actually being embraced by him, large hands caressing his back, words are being whispered into his ear, asking if he was okay.
He stared at the petals, spelling out Aurora. A bit longer, before he answers Alec's question that he was and the emotions overcame him again.
There's more whispered words, followed by soft kisses being placed onto the side of Magnus's head.
Oh, our amazing Aurora- we can't wait for you to finally be here with us.
...
It's about a week and half later, when a large package containing all of their pictures from the photoshoot arrives.
First they immediately found the favorites they had seen when she showed them the slides and put those into the empty frames that they had.
Then Alec and Magnus went through them all, 'cause they really hadn't seen all of the slides, just a few that Sylvie showed them as a sneak peak of the full set of photos that were to follow.
They of course ended up having more favorites to set aside, for more picture frames as well as for the baby book- they were beginning to put together.
And after that was done- they moved onto the copies that they requested of the photos they decided were the ones to send their family members.
It didn't take long to get the photos into the envelopes and have them all addressed, ready to be sent via fire massage.
Although Alec and Magnus knew they wouldn't hear from their family until the morning hours because they had started on the pictures in the mid evening hours, because of their work.
So Magnus sent them all out before they cleaned up for the night and went to bed, sleeping all the way into the late morning hours.
And like they expected to happen- they awoke to their phones filled with missed calls, voicemails and text messages.
Skimming through the texts, Maryse and Luke's were buzzing with excitement.
Izzy's first text was the same, the others however had random words being put together, it took a second for them to remember the term for it, "keyboard mashing". And her voicemail was her letting out a yell of her being happy for them.
A text from Catarina's number, except it was Madzie (like other kids together, she already knew how to text), being thrilled that she had someone to play with.
Ragnor- who left a voicemail, because Magnus is gonna quote what he said, I don't want to learn how to text, because in a few years they will change it. He failed so hard in keeping his tone of voice normal, Magnus could hear the happiness in his friend's voice.
And the last voicemail was from Raphael- who voicemail made Magnus choke up, listening to him talk on the other end, through the tears said he was elated for him and that he swore to look after his new baby sister.
After going through the texts and voicemails, and making sure they were awake enough to talk to their family, Alec hopped out of their bed and called his mother and Luke.
While Magnus sat in the bed, index finger hovering over Raphael's name in his contacts, but not clicking on it because he was focused on Alec in front of him.
He just stared for a moment, taking in how overjoyed Alec looked, as he stopped pacing and let out a laugh at whatever was said on the other end of the phone- from Luke or his mother.
This- this was everything and it was also more at the same time.
Magnus had never felt so full of delightment and content in his life then he's felt in the past year and right now in this moment.
Aurora, you've already brought so much happiness into our lives and you aren't here yet , Magnus thought, resting his hand on his belly where he immediately is greeted with Aurora's feeling of warmth and magic.
It brings a smile to Magnus's face as he finally clicked on the dial now button on Raphael's name and brought the phone up to his ear.
By the time you arrive here, little one you'll bring so much more happiness that we won't know what to do with it.
If y'all see more of Alec and Magnus being compared to the sun and the moon in my fics, we can blame tog fandom for that, I just couldn't resist doing it.
So Alec and Magnus are having a daughter! And her name will be Aurora, which I'm sure y'all saw coming since we all decided along time ago that it'd be just perfect for Alec and Magnus.
So the next part, smut is coming back baby as well as another milestone in the pregnancy. I think the next two will mainly be smut.
The rest of the series, I believe I've the outlines more in order now so after part six we'll totally know where things are heading, but so far plans are to have ten parts, so hopefully that sticks because muse is forever changing.
Now the next thing I hope to have up will either be the next part in this series or the hands/trans Magnus fic I've been wanting to do for a while now.
And y'all they will totally have Hozier lyrics as the titles! I can't believe I've went this long without titling fics after Hozier's lyrics.
Also if don't be surprised if I end up making a The Old Guard/Shadowhunters crossover, I've mentioned it a few times here and there, and combining these two worlds would be so interesting and I love the movie so much.
