Hello all, This is Sub Strider. I have made this one-shot as a way to both celebrate Halloween and to shake off my rust as it were.
The story is more or less based off of The and fangames, As well as some ideas I had. (Minor lemon, violence and O.C. Warnings for this story. If you hate any of these things, then please leave this story. Reader discretion is advised.)
Without Further ado. Let us begin.
An Unexpected Saviour
Bgm: Tekken 2 Ost – "Be in the mirror" (Theme Of Devil Kazuya)
A lone, cloaked figure stands atop a hill looking upon a ocean that once used to be the most beautiful thing to behold… But now it is a sea of blood, a calling card of a false god who enjoys delivering pain and suffering to the innocent. ("This is not meant to be the fate of this world…"), The figure thought to himself. ("I shall undo the blight you brought upon this world… Exetior... I will not let you claim anymore victims in your madness…"), The figure thought to himself as he recalled the four most recent victims of the massacre. ("Miles Prower, Knuckles The Echidna, Dr. Ivo Robotnik and Amy Rose. It's clear that he is targeting those that know the host…"), The figure stated to himself, while trying to uncover the identity of the next potential victim. Just then a series of images flashed into his mind: An orange rabbit finding a box with a red shoe, The rabbit spinning in a ball shape and colliding with several more of the red shoe boxes, increasing their speed, And finally the rabbit colliding with a wall of spikes. The rabbit's body in pieces and it's internal organs strewn across the ground. All the while, fireworks crackling and sparkling in the distance. ("So that is who you are after next, Exetior…"), The figure thought angrily. ("I will not let you have your way…"), The figure thought as he disappeared in a strike of lightning.
10 minutes later…
A strike of lightning struck down on a colorful area. The cloaked figure appeared once the lightning had dissipated. The Figure studied his surroundings and saw the wall of spikes from his vision, but no rabbit in sight. ("Hmm… I must have arrived early…"), The figure thought to himself. Just then, the figure heard a sound akin to the screeching of a tire. The figure also noticed the sound was getting louder. The figure turned to see an orange sphere rolling towards him at terrifying speed. The figure raised his arms in a blocking stance. There were no signs of fear or hesitation in the figure's stance as he braced for impact. The Sphere collided with the figure. The figure began slowly sliding towards the spikes as he stopped the sphere from spinning. The Figure was able to stop the sphere by shoving it back and sending it into the air. The sphere then revealed it was the rabbit. The rabbit carefully floated down to the ground using her large ears. The rabbit was panting heavily the entire time. "I-I'm alive…", the rabbit shakily said. Just then another taller and older rabbit ran towards her and pulled her into a hug. "Oh, Cream! Thank goodness you're okay!", the older rabbit said, shedding tears of joy. "The innocent shall suffer no more today…", a voice said. The two rabbits looked around, trying to find the source of the voice. "Who's there? Who said that?", The older rabbit questioned. "Over here…", the voice replied in an annoyed tone. The rabbits looked towards the source and saw the figure, impaled in several areas of his body and bleeding, but his face was still concealed. Suddenly the Figure pulled himself off the spikes in one fluid motion. The rabbits looked on with shock as the figure's wounds closed and healed instantly, as well as the blood completely dissipated. "That was unpleasant, but necessary…", The Figure stated cracking his neck. "W-who are you?", the older rabbit questioned. "I am nothing… I am no one… I have no family… no past… no present… no future… I have no name… no history… I simply exist…", The Figure stated. "I was created to stop the false god known as Exetior, and undo his blight upon this world and free those from his control, including the host of the body he is inhabiting. The child in your arms would have been his latest victim had I not intervened… Cream is her name, correct?", The Figure questioned. "Yes. And I'm her mother, Vanilla. Thank you for saving my daughter.", Vanilla replied towards The Figure. "Are you an angel?", Cream questioned. "No… I am a necessary evil… I am a monster created to stop a far more dangerous monster…", The Figure replied with a saddened tone of voice, his head looking towards the ground. "I have only a single purpose, nothing else…", The Figure continued. "Once my purpose has been fulfilled. I will have nothing. That is the price of salvation…", The Figure concluded. "But do you have to shoulder the burden all on your own?", Vanilla questioned. "Yes, It is what I was created for…", The Figure replied. Just then the sky turned a crimson shade. "It seems that someone is unamused with my intervention…", The Figure stated looking towards the sky. "And it seems I have attracted someone's attention…", The Figure stated, looking towards a trio rapidly approaching them. "Make that three someones…", The Figure concluded. Once the trio had gotten closer, The rabbits immediately recognized the trio standing in front of them.
BGM: "Super Smash Brothers Brawl OST- 02's Theme"
The first of the three was a fox with jet black fur with white in certain areas. The fox's eyes were black with red pupils and irises. Blood was also seen trickling from the fox's eyes. The fox's attire consisted of red and white shoes and a pair of white gloves. The second was an echidna with quills similar to hair and fur a dark red in color, his eyes were the same as the fox, as well as the blood coming from them. His attire consisted of mitten-like gloves with spikes on the knuckles and red and green shoes. The third was a female hedgehog. Her fur was a mute shade of pink. Only one eye was seen open, The other seemed nonexistent as half of her head seemed like a doll's head in appearance, hair and all. The one eye that was unaffected had the red and black color scheme The other two had. Her attire consisted of a red dress, red boots, white gloves with golden rings wrapped around the cuffs. As well as a hairband holding most of her hair out of her face. All three of them had their eyes set on the figure. "Tails, Mr. Knuckles and Ms. Amy! What happened to you?!", Cream questioned in dismay. "Exetior has resurrected those he has killed and made them his puppets for his twisted amusement.", The Figure explained. "The first order of business is to free them…", The Figure continued. "How will you do that?", Vanilla questioned. "It is quite simple. Although I will have to discard this cloak for it's use is no longer needed…", The Figure stated. In the blink of an eye, The Figure's cloak was cast aside and flew off with the wind, revealing the figure's appearance to all present.
BGM: King of Fighters All Star OST – Nameless' theme
The Figure was a male hedgehog with jet black fur and long jet black hair instead of quills and lacked any fur on the lower half of his face, arms and stomach/chest area. His skin was a pale white in Stark contrast to his fur. His attire consisted of a black open leather jacket with red flame designs on the front and back of it. His hands were covered with red fingerless gloves. His fingers at the knuckles and tips had elongated clawlike protrusions. The lower half of his body consisted of a pair of long black pants with a red flame design at the legs and A pair of red boots with a white metal plate on the front of them. The hedgehog's eyes were closed. Once he opened his eyes, it was revealed that The hedgehog's eyes were the same type of red and black color palette as the adversaries standing in front of him. The hedgehog then crossed his arms. The Hedgehog then suddenly turned into a blur of black, white and red. The blur sped around the possessed trio. The hedgehog then returned to where he was standing as if nothing had just happened. "It is done…", The hedgehog simply stated. The possessed trio then collapsed to the ground and became enveloped in dark spheres. The spheres then quickly dissipated, Leaving the trio as they were before their encounter with Exetior. "What did you do?", Vanilla questioned. "I freed them… I reawakened the fire within them, and it overpowered Exetior's control.", The hedgehog replied. "Is there anywhere we can go to tend to these three?", The hedgehog questioned towards Vanilla. "Yes, my house. We should be safe there.", She replied. "Alright, we should head there. Lead the way…", The hedgehog replied.
1 hour later
BGM: Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly OST – Riptoc Wizard's Platform Maze
The Hedgehog explained what had happened and explained his purpose to the rescued trio. "So that Exetior freak is possessing Sonic's body.", Knuckles stated angrily. "Yes, and it falls unto me to stop the monster and undo the corruption he has brought upon this world.", The hedgehog replied. "How will you do that?", Amy questioned. "I must first expel Exetior from your friend's body and soul. Then I will require a power source to undo his corruption.", The hedgehog replied. "What power source will you need?", Tails questioned. "I will explain in a moment. But first I have a request. Knuckles the Echidna, as the last member of your tribe, I ask you for use of the power source I require.", The hedgehog requested. Knuckles immediately realized what the hedgehog was asking. "What are you planning on doing with the Master Emerald?", Knuckles questioned with a scowl. "I intend to use a small fraction of the Emerald's power to purify the world. The remaining portion will completed by my lifeforce.", The hedgehog explained. Everyone else's eyes went wide at what was said. "Like I have said before, I am nothing… I am no one… It is what I was created for…", The hedgehog replied. "It is time… Exetior is close to absorbing the soul he needs to gain the power he needs to be all-powerful. I bid you all farewell… do not grieve for me… A monster like me does not deserve sympathy, or love, or praise…", The hedgehog stated before leaving Vanilla's house. ("What did he mean by that?"), Amy questioned to herself, saddened. Vanilla also had a look of sadness towards the hedgehog. ("The poor thing… Why does he have shoulder all of the burden?"), She thought to herself.
30 minutes later…
The hedgehog sprinted along the blood-soaked, flame-ridden path to his destination. Just then a missile barreled towards the hedgehog. The hedgehog cut clean through the missile with a single swipe of his claws, causing it's pieces to fall to the ground harmlessly. The hedgehog looked towards the source of the missile and scowled. "Dr. Robotnik, I presume?", The hedgehog questioned. The aforementioned doctor was in his signature eggmobile. His skin was a deathly pale shade of grey. The hedgehog's simple response was turn into a blur similar to before and speed around the doctor and his machine. Once he was finished, he stood with his back towards the doctor. Robotnik reverted back to normal and lost consciousness, but regained consciousness just as quickly. "I'm alive… How?", He questioned. "Simple. I broke Exetior's control over you. Exetior resurrected you to use as a puppet and I cut your strings so to speak…", The hedgehog replied, scowling towards the doctor. Robotnik became terrified at the hedgehog's expression. "You should find some safety at Vanilla's house, that is of course, if you can be forgiven for your past atrocities…", The hedgehog stated. "This will be the only time you see me… Once Exetior is Defeated, I will sacrifice myself to purify the world.", The hedgehog concluded and then continued sprinting along the path. The doctor just stood there, completely shocked.
1 hour later…
A squirrel is see walking on a trail looking for someone. ("He's here somewhere… I know he is…"), She thought to herself. Just then she heard a groan of pain come from nearby. ("Oh no, that sounds like him… I have to hurry!"), The squirrel thought to herself, running towards the source of the sound. Eventually, she found the source. A blue hedgehog was sitting up against a tree with his eyes closed and holding his arm. the arm in question was bent in ways it shouldn't be bent with bones jutting out of it. "Sonic!", The squirrel shouted. She was about to run towards him but was stopped by someone putting their arm in front of her, preventing her from moving any closer. "I would not get any closer if I were you…", The owner of the arm stated. The squirrel looked towards the one who was blocking her, revealing the hedgehog responsible for saving Exetior's victims. "This is who you are after Exetior? You won't get anywhere near her.", The hedgehog stated towards "Sonic". The squirrel scowled towards the hedgehog blocking her path. But then "Sonic" began laughing.

The squirrel then looked back as "Sonic" stood up, still laughing as his arm repaired itself with painful sounds of bones cracking. "Sonic's" eyes, though closed began leaking blood. Sonic's voice then began dropping several octaves, making his laughing sound demonic and unsettling. The squirrel looked on with fear at the transformation. "Sonic's" then opened his eyes, revealing the familiar black and red eyes. "Clever, but no matter what you do, you can never defeat me… and why? Because I am the universe… I am the ultimate lifeform… I am life… and death… I… am… GOD…", Exetior stated, taunting the hedgehog standing in front of him. The hedgehog gave an annoyed scowl in response. "Then I suppose that makes me the devil, are you done babbling whatever lies you tell yourself?", The hedgehog questioned. Exetior became enraged and lunged at the hedgehog, trying to go for his throat.
BGM: Sonic Unleashed OST – Dark Gaia Battle Phase 2 (Endless Possibilities instrumental)
The hedgehog's response was grab Exetior by the face with blinding speed. The hedgehog then looked towards the squirrel while still holding Exetior. "It is not safe for you right now. Please get yourself to safety.", The hedgehog stated. The squirrel nodded and ran away from the battle. The hedgehog then threw Exetior into a tree causing the tree snap in two. "Your puppets are free, your plans have failed, and all that remains is severing you from this world!", The hedgehog stated proudly. "You will be nothing but a horrible memory!", The hedgehog concluded with the same pride. Exetior had just finished picking himself up from the ground, now more enraged than before. The false god flew into the air and then summoned hundreds of metal spikes. The saviour then sprouted a pair of large bat like wings out of his back and flew towards Exetior. Exetior sent the spikes towards the savior. The saviour then turned into a blur and ricocheted off the spikes, destroying them all in the process. The saviour then turned his attention to Exetior and charged towards him while still in blur form. Exetior charged towards the savior in response. Once the two were in range. Exetior tried to strike the saviour in the face, but underestimated his opponent's power and instead was met with a kick to the back, and then a kick to one of his legs, breaking it, followed by a kick to one of his arms, breaking that as well. The saviour then grabbed Exetior and threw him high in the air and then flew after him and eventually caught up to him. Instead of colliding with Exetior, he phased clean through him. After the saviour phased through Exetior, the possessed hedgehog began to emit a bright blue glow. The glow then separated from Exetior and shot into the air and became a familiar blue hedgehog. Exetior's eyes widened as his host was now separated from him. The real Sonic the Hedgehog was free at long last. "Remember me, ugly?!", Sonic shouted towards Exetior as he dove towards him. "Time to pay you back for everything!", Sonic shouted before preforming one of his signature techniques, The homing attack and slammed into Exetior. Sonic continued to spin into the false god as he attempted to pull Sonic off but couldn't do it with just one hand. The two were increasing in speed as they approached the ground. Exetior let out a final scream of agony just before the two hit the ground. The ground shook when the two crashed down. Sonic was completely unharmed. The same however could not be said for Exetior as most of the bones in his body were broken and was bleeding internally as well as having a punctured lung.

The False God laid upon the ground, broken and beaten. Sonic scowled at the one who had possessed him. "That's for every one of my friends, you freak!", Sonic shouted at the defeated Exetior. "Sonic!", several voices shouted. Sonic turned to see his friends, including Exetior's former victims. Sonic was surprised at this, to say the least. "Tails, Knuckles, Amy! You're alive! But how?", Sonic questioned. "You can thank that guy up there.", Knuckles replied pointing his thumb up to the sky. Sonic looked up and saw the saviour still flying. "Who is that?", Sonic questioned. "Nobody knows. But all he told us is that he was going to sacrifice himself set everything right.", Tails responded. Amy and Vanilla both looked towards the savior sadly as he flew off to complete his existence. Just then the group heard wheezing coming from Exetior, revealing he was still alive, at least for the time being. "This is not the end… Someday, some way… I will avenge myself and all will be mine…", Exetior stated, struggling to breathe. Everyone glared at him as the false god gasped pathetically before finally dying. His body then turned into a small red cube, with said cube disappearing soon after. The group then followed the saviour to where he was going.
1 hour later…
The saviour landed on Angel Isle, standing in front of an altar that held the Master Emerald. The saviour took a deep breath before walking up the altar steps and retracting his wings. Eventually he stood in front of the Emerald. ("My time has come."), The Saviour thought to himself before placing his hand on the Emerald. Immediately , The Emerald began charging and generating an energy ball above it. The saviour then raised his hand to said energy ball and emitted red electricity from his hand into the ball. The saviour felt his body weaken as his strength left him. Once the ball had enough energy, it was released across the entire planet. The ocean no longer consisted of blood. The land returned to what it was before Exetior's invasion. The woodland animals massacred by Exetior were revived as if nothing had happened. The world was safe once more. The saviour looked upon what he had done. He then quietly laid himself on the grounds of the altar next to the Emerald and closed his eyes. His time was done, his existence fulfilled. He now could rest for all of time. He shed no tears. He had no smile or grimace. He would return back to being nothing…
10 minutes later…
The group along with Robotnik managed to find their saviour quietly laying on the altar. They all had looks of sadness. They shared a moment of silence for the loss of a hero.

The Saviour opened his eyes and saw he was in a white void. The savior looked around with confusion. "This is not where I came from… what is this place? Why am I here?", The Saviour questioned. "This is the inside of the Master Emerald. You were brought here because you deserve to be rewarded for what you have done.", a female voice said. "Rewarded? A monster like me does not deserve such a thing.", The Saviour replied sadly. "A monster? Would a monster save the innocent? Would a monster restore the world? You're not a monster. You're not a weapon. You're a good person.", The voice stated. "How could you know? It's too late for me now… the deed is done… there is no turning back now…", The Saviour concluded with the same sadness. "No, you're still alive. The Master Emerald channeled some of the energy you sacrificed and returned it to you purified. You're currently sleeping in the outside world.", The voice explained. The saviour's eyes widened at he was told, but regained himself. "I see…", The Saviour replied. "So, will you leave the Master Emerald?", The voice questioned. "Yes, There could be other threats that I am not aware of. I will go back.", The Saviour replied. "Alright, good luck to you…", The voice concluded. A bright flash of light quickly consumed the saviour…

The Saviour opened his eyes and saw he was in a bedroom. He then looked towards a window and saw the moon was high in the sky, providing a small amount of light in the room, showing it was nighttime. He then tried to pull himself up, but noticed that something was holding him down. He looked down to try to see what was holding him. He saw someone's arms wrapped around his waist. He then carefully turned his head to see the owner of said arms and saw Amy sleeping having her head nuzzled up against his back. The saviour then saw that she was only wearing a set of bright red lingerie and became visibly embarrassed and became even more embarrassed when he was only wearing a pair of black boxers. ("I feel like I am missing something…"), The Saviour thought to himself turning his head back. "Seems like someone's finally awake… ", a voice said, followed with a yawn. The saviour looked back towards Amy and saw her looking at him. "Evening", The Saviour simply stated. "Heya", Amy replied. "I believe I am missing context. How did I get here?", The Saviour questioned. "Vanilla and I brought you back to her house after we found out that you were still alive.", Amy replied. "And the revealing attire?", The Saviour questioned. "I thought it would be better if you had someone snuggle with you, Hyro.", Amy replied. "Hero?", The Saviour questioned. "You said you didn't have a name, so I came with one for you. H - Y - R – O. Hyro. So what do you think?", Amy questioned. "Very well. Since I am here to stay, I suppose a name will be necessary. Hyro is my name and thus it shall be.", The now named Hyro replied. Amy giggled at his response. "Although, I am wondering something.", Hyro stated. "What is it?", Amy questioned. "Why are you showing me affection so suddenly?", Hyro questioned. "I found out someone I like already has a girlfriend, and I thought you were very handsome. I want to show you love. I'm sorry if I'm bothering you.", Amy stated with a light blush on her face. "You seem quite lonely. Perhaps I can help. I am not sure on how, but I could try.", Hyro replied, sitting himself up while still having Amy wrapped around him. "Well, I did have an idea of something you could do to help me.", Amy stated with a seductive grin on her face. "What did you have in mind?", Hyro questioned, now stretching his fingers and noticing they were the not elongated claws like before but were actual fully functional fingers. Hyro did not mind this change all that much. Just then Amy whispered something into his ear that made his face become a bright shade of red. The hedgehog then looked towards Amy with a face of visible embarrassment. "Y-you want me to d-do THAT?", Hyro stammered. "Yup, We can't do it here since I'm pretty sure that Vanilla doesn't want to deal with the noise, but I know a place we can go were we won't bother anyone.", Amy replied. She then noticed that Hyro was becoming very uncomfortable and avoiding eye contact. "It's OK. I'm not going to hurt you. I'll help you. After all, you're the one I want to be with…", Amy stated. "But what if I hurt you? I could never forgive myself if I did something to injure you or worse.", Hyro replied. Amy then placed a finger on Hyro's lips and turned his head towards her, restoring eye contact. "Shh… I'm sure about my decision. I know you won't hurt me.", Amy replied before kissing Hyro on the cheek. "Very well, But if I hurt you in any way. I will not go any further. Is that reasonable to you?", Hyro questioned. "Yeah, I can work with that. Are you ready to go?", Amy questioned. "Aren't you a bit underdressed for this?", Hyro questioned in response. "We won't need much where we're going.", Amy replied seductively with a wink. "Alright then, lead the way.", Hyro replied.
10 minutes later…
The place Amy spoke of was a hidden area inside of a cave near Vanilla's house. The cave had an large, circular opening in the ceiling which let the moon shine down on a to a small pond in the middle of it. On one side of the pond was a rock formation in the shape of a chair. "So what do you think?", Amy questioned, still only wearing her lingerie. "It is… interesting…", Hyro replied, looking up at the moon. He then felt Amy's arms wrap around his chest from behind.
