Notes: Flufftober Oct 12 - Sleepy Kiss

The Taste of Sunlight

Jesse wakes up feeling warm and cozy and, above all else, very safe. It takes her a moment to identify why that is when her sleep fuzzed brain doesn't quite recognize her surroundings. Normally sleepy-brain not being quite sure where she is would be a good way to wake up feeling panicky.

A legacy of her time spent in Zoom's captivity, no doubt.

But her eyes, blinking in the rays of sunlight peeking in through the blinds, glance down and recognize the arm wrapped loosely around her waist to press a hand against her chest. That's Allegra's. Which mean's Allegra is the warm weight pressed against her back and the origin of the soft puffs of air against her neck. This is Allegra's bedroom. And this is Jesse's first time sleeping over in Allegra's bedroom.

An unfamiliar, but very safe place. No wonder her still running-on-slow brain felt safe taking the sluggish route to wakefulness.

There was a minute shifting behind her and Jesse shuffled around in Allegra's arms to face her girlfriend. "Morning," she murmured.

Allegra smiled, seeming every bit as lethargic as Jesse. "Morning," Allegra replied, voice soft before she leaned in to brush her lips against Jesse's.

"I want to re-introduce you to my dad as my girlfriend today," Jesse said and then blushed.

Allegra beamed. "Really? I thought you were still nervous about letting him know."

"I am, but... dad's just overbearing and overprotective. He already likes you, so he just... needs to get used to the idea of me dating you. It's just until he does that he's a brat about things." Jesse shrugged. "He's bad with change. When I was dating Wally, he actually tried to convince Wally he was dying. Should have seen the look of panic on dad's face though when I greeted him as 'dead man' after I found out what he'd been trying to pull."

Allegra snickered. "I'm pretty used to Nash's antics by now, Harry sounds like he's just as dramatic."

"Yeah, pretty much. He's mellowed a lot over the last few years, especially since he and Cisco became a couple, but dad can still be pretty extra about things." Jesse yawned and ducked her head a little. "But that's later today. Much later. When I've had enough coffee that I can pretend the caffeine has any effect on me."

That earned her a soft snort of laughter from Allegra. "Reason number one I'm glad I don't have a suped up metabolism," she teased.

Jesse stuck her tongue out only to have Allegra roll on top of her and pin her down, gently, for a kiss, chasing Jesse's tongue with her own. There's this... charged taste to their kisses and, as Jesse wraps her arms around Allegra's waist, she wonders (not for the first time) if kissing Allegra gives her a little glimpse of what sunlight tastes like.
