Lena walked into her room and flopped onto her bean bag chair. What a morning. The past few hours alone had been exhausting. First, Louie has summoned some kind of demon made up of socks abandoned at the bottom of laundry baskets from all over Duckburg. She had tried to overpower Sockrates with her power, but its desire to destroy humanity had been stronger. Luckily, their teamwork had been the strongest power of all.

Lena made a face. Bleh. Had she actually just thought that? What were these people doing to her? Oh well. She remembered the defeat of the monster, and how they had found quite a few pairs of socks with the Louie's Kids logo, which Louie pretended to know nothing about. She grinned at that memory, then frowned again almost immediately, remembering that the McDucks had left on an urgent mission to Mervana and wouldn't return for days. Webby and her fellow triplets and their cousins, the other triplets, were gone. Her sister, Violet was at a Woodchuck campout, solo. Her parents were...somewhere.

Yup, I'm officially alone for the day.

Oh, well. At least she had this creepy crow on her windowsill to keep her company.

Wait, wha?

Lena glanced back at the crow that had, indeed, appeared on her windowsill. It fluttered over onto her bed, settling right next to her with an unblinking, deliberate stare. Lena noticed a purple highlight in one of its head feathers. Odd. She stared back at the bird for a second, before swatting the bird away from her bed and out the window. What a weird crow. None of the other birds in Duckburg had the guts to get that near any of the citizens.

"SCRAW!!"

Lena turned around to see that the crow was now back on her bed, closer to her this time, staring at her unblinkingly.

"What do you want?" She asked.

"Only my freedom."

"WHAT IN THE-?"

"Please, Lena. No need to shout. I don't want your soul or even a vital organ. All I want is my true form. You and my sister are the only ones who can help."

Lena was aghast. She stuttered. She spluttered. Finally, she managed to get two words out. "U-U-Uncle Poe?!"

"The one and only." The bird said, bowing.

"Ookay. Hi, I guess."

"I know all about you."

"Cool."

"Your favorite color is grey, your secret favorite color is lavender, your favorite person/ possible crush is Webbigail McDuck..."

"Woah, woah, dude, have you been spying on me?"

"...Yes. Is that not normal? Sorry, I've been a bird that swoops randomly into houses for a hundred and thirty years now."

"No, no, you're good. But you were saying something about your true form?"

"Ah, yes. Surely Magica told you the tale?"

"No?..."

"Agh. Fine. It all began in a village which my sister and I ruled and tormented together..."

He quickly explained how the twins had met Scrooge McDuck one day, how the adventurer had dueled Magica, and how had accidentally been transformed.

"But, after several decades, I've finally come back to my senses and basically became a man trapped in a bird's body, rather than just a bird with a dumb bird brain. And, now I've finally found a way that you and your aunt, working together, can change me back! Isn't that wonderful?"

"Uh, yeah, hard pass." Lena folded her arms. "I've seen what Magica can do on her own with that amulet; the last thing she needs is someone else to help her use it better."

"I admit, it does sound dastardly." Poe said. "But, Lena, I swear I've had a recent change of heart! I don't want to turn people into goats or blindly rob peasants anymore! All I want is my true form back! What do you say?" He held out a wing for her to shake.

"Still not so sure about this...Violet warns me constantly that crows are really bad omens."

"But this bad omen is your uncle! You'd help out a fellow De Spell, wouldn't you? Besides Magica, I'm the only family you'll ever have."

"Uh, yeah, you couldn't be more wrong." Lena scoffed, striding over to photograph and pointing at each member individually. "That's Vi, my little sis, her parents, then that's Red, Green, and Blue over there with their mom Della, her psychotic brother, their ghost butler, their non-ghost pilot, my best friend Pink, her adopted grandma, and Scrooge, her dad."

"...You lost me." Poe stared flatly at the photo.

"Look, the point is, I've found a family in these guys. They aren't shadows, they aren't sorcerers, and they are definitely not De Spells! The answer is no, dude. Go fly into a tree or something." She pointed angrily out the window.

Poe simply gave her a smug smile. "You do realize I have the upper hand here, correct?"

"And how's that?"

"I can keep pestering you until you help me."

"Whatever. I'm taking a nap."

Lena flopped onto her bed as the bird flew out the window, singing an odd song. What a weirdo.
