Sarah just walked through the front entrance of her high school. While her Chaotic self was in Perim on an epic adventure with three of her best friends, she was stuck on Earth and had to go through the same old routine.
Good thing she had friends here to keep her from being bored all day.
"Sarah! How'd your drivers test go?" One of her friends pounced on her, wrapping her skinny arms around Sarah's shoulders. The girl's name is Tiffany. She is a head shorter than Sarah, which is probably a good thing for Sarah given that her friend loved to surprise jump her as often as she could. If she wasn't so small then Sarah's back would have snapped a long time ago.
Tiffany and her became friends in middle school. She was one of the few friends of Sarah's who loved insects just as much as her. They both are into the ant farm hobby and help each other out if they need help with their colonies.
"Girl, I killed it! The instructor was super nice and said I didn't make one mistake." She began talking about all the details from how cute the instructor was to how it started raining during the driving test. Their first class wasn't going to start for another half hour so they had plenty of time to talk.
"Oh before I forget, I got a strange email from Chaotic." Tiffany mentioned as they were walking to their lockers.
Sarah stopped in the middle of the hallway. She didn't say anything, but it was clear that something shocked her.
Tiffany looked back confused by Sarah suddenly stopping.
"What's the matter?" She asked. That question snapped Sarah out of her stumper.
"I'm fine, just thought I forgot something important for a second there." She lied, then asked "What did the message say." Sarah was all smiles. If that email was what she was thinking of then her friend finally gets to go to Chaotic with her. Most of her friends from school play Chaotic, but don't have a code to Chaotic.
Tiffany has excellent winning stats online, but she doesn't play often. Not much is known about how the Code Masters decide who gets a code, but it's proven that the more someone plays online the more likely they get the code. So Sarah didn't have her hopes up for her friend to join her in Perim. But now it seems like one of her unspoken wishes has come true.
"It was a bunch of letters and numbers. Like the code on the cards." Her friend said, "I searched to see if anyone else got something similar, but nothing came up. Since you play Chaotic more than me I thought you might have heard of that."
"I think the Chaotic company randomly sends out free codes for new cards to players who win a match." She lied again. "Do you have your scanner with you?"
"Yeah, do you think I should tryout the code now?" Tiffany said as she pulls out her brown scanner from her bookbag.
"Yes go ahead. I think there's a limit to when it can be redeemed." She explained. She wants to make her friend hurry and enter the code, but knows it wouldn't do good to push.
Tiffany finishes putting in the last letter and hits enter. A second later a message pops up.
"Darn, it says I was too late."
Sarah's heart sinks.
"When did you get the message?" Sarah asks, wondering if it was some kind of mistake. A player had exactly twenty-four hours to enter the code.
"Two days ago I think. They don't give you a lot of time to respond do they."
"No they don't." Was all Sarah could say. "We should get going, the bell will ring soon."
Sarah tries to appear to be unaffected by the bad news, but her friends could tell she wasn't herself today. The worse of it was that she could not explain why she was so sad. None of them know that Chaotic is real. If she tells them then at best they'll think she's pulling their leg and at worse that she developed some kind of mental disorder.
Later at night, her scanner beeps, letting her knew her Chaotic Self is ready to come home. She presses the button and the memories of the day in Perim flood her mind.
She beat Klay in a Chaotic match. Went to Kiru City with her friends to sightsee. Got a new scan of a super rare Overworlder named Lomma. They went back to Chaotic to watch some matches and eat pizza in the Port Court.
Her Chaotic Self certainly had a grand time while her Earth Self spent most of the day mourning for her friend's loss. A loss her friend didn't even know about.
Guys, please port back to Chaotic. I got to talk to someone. She sends the message to her boys, then transports back to Chaotic.
She goes to sleep after that. Hopefully in the morning, her Chaotic Self will have talked her feelings out and the memory of her friends talking with her will cheer her up.
Note: Not sure if the show ever mentioned how Sarah likes insects, but according to "The Ultimate Guide to All Things Chaotic" Sarah has a life long love of insects. The reason why she likes the Dainans so much is because of their antlike appearance. So I figured she might like keeping ant farms.
