Falling inside the dark
The first time Riko sees her, she can't help but let fear get the best of her, forcing her to run back to refugee deep under her blankets, shutting her eyes tightly while she brings her hands up to her ears to cover them.
She murmurs a mantra over and over again that can help her to calm down, ignore and chase away the groans coming out from the balcony outside her bedroom, until she finally ends falling asleep.
If it wasn't because of the black feather and the blood stain she finds out on the floor of her balcony the next morning, Riko would have thought that everything was a dream or a nightmare, it depends on how you look at it.
The second time, Riko dares to peek out timidly from under her blankets to observe a figure crouched on the floor of her balcony.
Tentatively, she gets out of her bed and crawls on four feet through her bedroom's floor with a mixture of fear and curiosity for that supernatural being as she stares at it from behind the crystal door, still inside the security of her bedroom.
The crouched figure whines once again, to then look at the crystal door and at her with an equal mixture of fear and awe, before flying off awkwardly.
That night, Riko realizes that it's not a dream nor a nightmare but the hard reality, and that the being is wounded.
The third time, Riko takes a deep breath and reaches the doorknob with a shaky hand to open the door of her balcony, trying to give the vulnerable being in front of her a reassuring smile before she shows her the first-aid kit that carries in her other hand.
- It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to heal you – Riko says gently.
The being in question, a fallen angel, looks at her warily and grumbles in approbation, looking away during the whole time Riko treats her injuries.
Riko's shaky hands clean slowly and with delicacy the wounds and scratches on her wings and skin, disinfecting them while the fallen angel keeps grumbling the entire time, moving restlessly.
- Please, stop moving – Riko says softly, gaining another grunt from the fallen angel before she stops moving.
As Riko finishes bandaging her black wings and putting one or another band-aid on her, the fallen angel mumbles softly to her.
- Thank you.
Then, she shakes her wings slightly and carefully, ready to start flying away again into the night.
Riko looks at her flying away astonished, wishing internally that the fallen angel has a safe trip, and maybe see her once again.
The fallen angel, unknowingly, makes her wish come true as she comes back the next night, much to Riko's surprise and relieve, who goes out to her balcony to greet her shyly.
- You came back – Riko says softly, a timid smile adorning her face.
- D-Don't be mistaken human, I-I just came back so you can keep treating my injuries until I'm healed completely, then, you won't see me ever again – the fallen angel says, averting her eyes while huffing.
Riko smiles softly at her words yet a bit sad at maybe not seeing her again. Then, she starts to treat her wounds and scratches again, like the previous night.
The fallen angel, mirroring her previous night's actions, spreads her long black wings ready to fly off after Riko had finished treating her injuries. She still winces because of the pain as she shakes her wings, and perches onto the balcony's railing ready to take off when she's suddenly stopped by Riko's voice.
- Wait!
Riko yells out at her, urging her to turn around lightly to look at her not very amusingly.
- What do you want now, human?
- I-I just... I'm Riko.
Riko smiles at her shyly and the fallen angel snorts, turning around once again.
- Yohane.
She says before flying off into the depths of the night sky.
Riko looks at her flying away with a smile on her face, her hands pressed against her chest to wish her a nice travel.
Yohane appears again the next night on Riko's balcony, waiting for her to come out and treat her injuries once again before leaving, and like that the next nights, like a routine.
Riko can't help but think that once Yohane is healed completely, true to her words, the fallen angel will disappear and never come back, but to her surprise and happiness, Yohane keeps coming back the following nights even after being completely healed.
Riko opens the balcony's door with a soft smile on her face and Yohane huffs, looking away to hide the timid blush blossoming on her cheeks.
- D-Don't get confused human, i-it's just that I don't have any other place to stay the night – Yohane says stubbornly before Riko even says anything. Riko just giggles, sitting next to her in silence until she falls asleep, her head falling to rest on Yohane's shoulder. Yohane grumbles and takes her to the bed, tucking her in – Stupid human.
Yohane murmurs, putting the stray strands of Riko's burgundy hair behind her ear, her eyes lingering for a brief second on her peaceful expression before flying away.
Somehow, Yohane and Riko end adopting that routine.
Yohane always appears at the same hour of the night, punctual, and Riko goes out to greet her with a soft smile on her face to then sit next to her, wrapping the blanket she takes out with her around her body tightly to shield herself from the cold.
Some nights, they just stay in silence, sat on the balcony's floor gazing up at the starry sky until Riko can't stay awake for any longer and ends falling asleep and Yohane, happy but mumbling under her breath grumpily, has to take her again to the bed, tucking her in it to shield her from the cold and let her rest properly for the rest of the night. She takes a quick last look at Riko, seeing her sleeping peacefully before spreading her wings to get lost into the night sky.
Others, they just talk about Riko's day, getting to know each other more, or rather Yohane getting to know more about Riko as she doesn't share any information about herself with the burgundy girl. That's until Riko can't keep her eyes opened for any longer, and sleepily, she bids her goodbye to Yohane to go back to her bed on her own.
It's been a couple of months since Yohane was exiled from heaven, falling onto Riko's balcony, and even though each day they get to grow closer, Riko still isn't able to understand Yohane one bit, nor what she feels or goes through her mind.
Riko can't also understand why she likes so much to spend the nights in the fallen angel's company instead of sleeping, or the emptiness she feels over the day while Yohane isn't with her. She can't understand why it hurts to see her so sad and she can't do anything on that matter, nor how her heart leaps out her chest every time she hears Yohane laughing so carefree or whenever she grins at her.
Riko sighs in her bed, thinking about it and about Yohane while she waits for her to come back to her balcony as she does every night, but that night is different, Yohane doesn't appear.
Hours go by and the fallen angel doesn't appear in her balcony. At the end, Riko ends falling asleep with tears prickling her eyes and a sad and aching pang settled in her heart.
Next day, night comes quickly and Riko can't help but be nervous in the hopes of seeing Yohane again.
She waits patiently for her fallen angel to come, but then again, she doesn't appear at her usual time.
Riko waits for her awake for several hours until she finally hears a slight movement outside her balcony, and slowly gets closer to the crystal door to find Yohane perched on the edge of her balcony's railing, gazing up at the sky with a nostalgic gaze and expression on her face.
- You're late – Riko says softly, peeking out her head of the door.
Yohane turns her head towards her and gives her a lopsided grin.
- Already missing me, human? – she says playfully.
- A little – Riko admits timidly, a blush spreading across her cheeks and Yohane's heart flutters at the sight, finding her more beautiful than usual.
- Sorry – Yohane apologizes softly, chuckling.
Riko shakes her head and takes a step closer, hugging herself to shield herself from the chilly air blowing.
- Are you okay? – she asks the fallen angel worriedly and Yohane can't help but melt at the question.
She nods at Riko before changing of subject.
- You're going to get cold – she says, observing Riko hugging herself tighter to keep more warmth within her.
- It's okay – Riko says, smiling at her.
- Stupid human.
Yohane mumbles and sighs, descending from the railing to wrap her wings around Riko and keep her warm. They both blush at it but don't say anything, hardly caring about it.
- I wasn't sure if you'd come tonight – Riko confesses against her chest and Yohane wraps her in her wings tighter.
- Sorry.
It's all Yohane manages to say before Riko takes her by the hand and brings them inside her bedroom.
- Can you stay tonight? – Riko whispers to her insecurely, the blush on her cheeks more present than before.
Yohane wants to say no, but just one look at Riko's beautiful and pleading golden eyes and she quickly gives in.
- J-Just for tonight – Yohane stutters embarrassedly and Riko giggles before they lay down on her bed, her head coming to rest over Yohane's chest as the fallen angel wraps her in her wings again, helping her to quickly fall asleep.
Yohane ends staying almost the whole night awake, watching over Riko's dreams, making sure she has a good sleep while she enjoys Riko's warmth against her body and the silkiness of her hair against her fingers as she brushes it.
She can't deny any longer the things she started to feel for this fragile human in between her wings. The way she makes her heart quicken with just a single gaze or brush, or how she always wants to see her smile, especially when she does it so dazzlingly. She can't stop thinking about her every hour of the day and come back to her every night.
And that scares her to no end.
It's scary how this little human, this little angel in disguise has enchanted her and enamored her. And it's even scarier because she doesn't want to taint her, she wouldn't ever forgive herself if she gave in and ended tainting Riko.
Yohane sighs heavily thinking about it, squeezing Riko in between her wings once again before giving into slumber.
The next morning, Riko wakes up alone in her bed, completely wrapped in her blankets and with a light scent of incense still lingering around her bedroom.
The small and soft smile playing on her lips only widens more as she finds some black feathers resting beside her.
She takes them to keep them as her precious treasure, waiting for the night to come and meet their owner again before she sadly gets ready to continue with her boring daily routine.
And sooner than expected, night comes.
The moon, high up in the sky, illuminates her balcony beautifully.
Riko peeks her head out of her blankets to see Yohane already perched on her balcony's railing, gazing up at the moon with certain nostalgia on her eyes, almost as the previous night.
Riko can't help but be completely mesmerized admiring the breathtaking sight in front of her.
The moonlight baths Yohane's frame, standing out the majesty of her black long wings, giving them a softer look. Its blue light reflects perfectly on Yohane's blue hair, giving her an aura more angelical, making her deep magenta eyes look more vibrant.
Riko makes her presence noticed, slowly coming closer to Yohane and drawn by her beauty, she loses her hand in her soft feathers, enjoying their, indeed, soft touch against her fingertips.
Yohane turns around to look at her with an amused grin that brings a profound blush out on Riko's cheeks and makes her heart beat wildly against her ribcage.
Yohane's grin only widens at her blush, and now, it's Yohane's turn to get lost taking in Riko's beauty under the moonlight.
She gets entranced admiring the way her profound blush contrast against her white pale skin, giving her an adorable look. How her burgundy hair seems to come alive or the sparkle in her golden eyes… But what captivates Yohane the most, it's the way her white nightgown shines against the moon rays, giving her a perfect angelic aura that catches Yohane's breath in her lungs.
Riko, embarrassed by her staring, dips her head down, and Yohane descends of the railing in front of her to grab her chin softly, obliging Riko to look at her again, getting lost in her golden eyes sparkling so vividly once again, noticing the light yellowish dots in them.
Her thumb ghosts over Riko's lips, tempted to kiss them. She can't though.
Yohane sighs, her fingertips grazing delicately over Riko's silky skin to then cup her cheek.
Kissing her, even dare to touch Riko would mean to taint her with her darkness and Yohane can't afford herself to do that.
Riko puts her hand over Yohane's one, caressing it with a smile on her face that makes Yohane slightly blush and venture forward to take a taste of her lips, throwing caution to the wind.
Her lips brush Riko's ones tentatively before they melt into a gentle kiss. Riko's lips taste so sweet that it's addictive, and soon, their innocent kiss turns out more heated as Yohane's tongue asks for permission to dance with Riko's.
- Mmh… yahe… – Riko moaning her name inside her mouth is enough for Yohane to get out of the spell she was under and pull away from Riko, panting.
- Sorry, I shouldn't have done that – Yohane apologizes, looking down with mixed feelings.
Riko is the one cupping her cheek this time, caressing it with a kind smile on her face.
- It's okay Yohane.
- It isn't, Riko. We shouldn't do this – Yohane says, detaching herself from Riko's soft and pleasant touch to turn around and try to think clear without Riko's sweet and alluring smell clouding her senses – I don't want to taint you.
She whispers softly, almost inaudible, and Riko steps closer, burying her head into her wings while her arms surround her frame to hug her tightly.
- I don't care – Riko says softly, her breath crashing against Yohane's feathers sending shivers down her spine.
- Riko… – Yohane's voice is strained, trailing off as she senses Riko shaking her head against her wings.
- I really don't care Yohane. I love you – she says, hugging her tighter.
Yohane opens her eyes shocked, feeling her heart jumping in delight at her words while biting her lip.
- You aren't fair, human – she murmurs under her breath and Riko just giggles, pulling herself apart enough to let Yohane turn around again.
They stare into one another's eyes before going for a kiss, this time more passionate than their first one.
Riko's arms surround Yohane's neck, pulling her deeper into the kiss while Yohane wraps her wings around her tightly, her arms surrounding Riko's waist to guide them inside the burgundy's girl bedroom, towards her bed.
Gently, Yohane lays Riko down onto the mattress, admiring her beauty bathed by the moonlight.
- Are you sure of this? – Yohane asks Riko worriedly, caressing her cheek, receiving a smile and a little kiss on the back of her hand as an answer.
- I am. I love you Yohane – Riko breathes out, kissing her gently to erase her doubts.
Yohane knows she should have fought harder, being fully aware of the dangers that entailed getting closer to Riko. She knows this isn't okay, but she honestly could care less. Riko stole her heart completely and any rational thought she ever had since the first time they ever locked their eyes.
- I love you too – she breathes out, breaking the kiss while smiling tenderly at Riko, enjoying the cute blush adorning her face.
Yohane's fingertips graze over Riko's skin feathery, slowly lowering her nightgown's suspenders, making the nightgown fall to her waist before she takes it off completely, leaving her naked, her white pale skin shining deliciously against the moonlight, enchanting her.
Riko's blush increases, fascinating Yohane even more, who stares at her lovingly, if she's not a real angel, Riko could easily be her angel…
Riko's trembling hands stop over the hem of Yohane's shirt, pulling it a bit while looking at her pleadingly and Yohane easily complies, following her silent plead and taking her own clothes off to be in her full glory too.
They smile timidly at one another before starting to explore the other's bodies in unison, fingertips roaming delicately over their skins, memorizing every freckle, every scar in them, every fold…
Yohane's mouth descends slowly along Riko's skin before taking one of her breasts captive in her mouth to take care of it lovingly.
- Mmmh… Yohane – Riko moans her name, arching her back, making her breast go deeper in Yohane's mouth.
Yohane smirks, biting Riko's breast softly to hear her name being called in a moan again, enjoying it as much as she enjoys seeing Riko's precious face contorting in pleasure.
She keeps playing with her breasts, alternating from one to another giving them pleasure with her mouth and hands, to then, entranced, descend more along her body, without shifting her gaze from Riko's face the entire time before she reaches Riko's sacred place, dipping into it to take a taste of her sweet nectar.
It's so intoxicating that Yohane soon finds herself becoming addicted to its taste, dipping deeper to keep savoring it, drinking it.
Riko's hands fly to tangle in her hair, pulling it while more moans escape her mouth in delight and Yohane smiles satisfied, focusing again on pleasure her beloved angel.
Yohane loves the way her tongue moves with ease deeper into her lover, watching her face twisting in delight while her mouth forms an 'o' or she just bites her lip to prevent more moans to come out.
She loves the way Riko's back arches as she finally loosens up and moans her name out, her breasts bouncing at the movement, and soon, without further delay, her tongue reaches a particular spot, hitting it hard, making the beloved angel under her yell unexpectedly and loudly in ecstasy.
- Yohane!
Riko's hands pull her hair harder, making her slightly wince at it before she starts to feel a sweet nectar filling her mouth down to her chin.
Yohane eagerly hurries up to catch the liquid with her tongue, enjoying its sweet and delicious taste, not wanting to waste a single drop of it.
She looks up at Riko, a dazzling expression present on her face and observes the way her chest move up and down quickly, panting hard while she's covered by a thin coat of sweat and Yohane swears that for a second, she forgot how to breath at such breathtaking sight in front of her. The moonlight reflecting against her sweat drops, giving Riko an aura of divinity worthy of a true angel.
- My angel…
Yohane lets out, dazzled in a trance, and Riko blushes furiously, covering her face with her hands in complete embarrassment.
- Oh god, don't look, it's embarrassing! – she whines and Yohane laughs, taking her hands away from her face to look at her with a big smile on her face.
- You're beautiful, my angel.
Riko barely has time to squeal at the embarrassment, before she's interrupted by Yohane's lips on hers, kissing her deeply.
Riko runs her hands over Yohane's back to bring her closer, and then timidly makes her way down, sneaking her fingers into her lover hesitantly to give her beloved fallen angel the pleasure she deserves until she also ends reaching her climax.
She can't help but be completely drawn by Yohane's beauty under the moonlight, her black long wings standing up majestically while she moans her name over and over again sensually, making her come again involuntarily.
Yohane falls on top of her exhausted, looking at her with a mischievous smirk on her face and Riko blushes even harder than before.
- Shut up! – she cries out and Yohane laughs again, kissing her tenderly.
- I didn't say anything, my angel.
Riko groans embarrassedly, much to Yohane's delight.
Yohane takes in Riko's beauty one last time, leaving a kiss on her forehead.
She's about to move off Riko, when the burgundy girl pulls her back against her body, making her head come to rest on her chest, listening closely to her soothing heartbeat.
- Stay, please.
Yohane hums in agreement and snuggles more into Riko, wrapping her wings around her body while she enjoys the touch of her silky skin against her feathers, her warmth and sweet scent.
She sighs contentedly, nuzzling Riko's chest and closes her eyes.
- Always – she murmurs, leaving a kiss over Riko's heart, sensing Riko's lips on her temple – I love you my angel.
- I love you too my fallen angel – Riko says giddily and Yohane smiles more, letting sleep take over them happily, none of them caring about the darkness any longer.
