Jesse sat.

It was all he could do for now really; until Jessica comes back. He can hear her screams and cries of pain from all the way in their cell. Her fear made Jesse's heart want to stop, she sounded so scared...and he wasn't there to help her.

The screams die down, Romeo must've stopped what he was doing. They'll be coming back soon. He holds his legs to his chest anxiously, shoving his face into his dirty and blood-stained light skin. Oh how he wished things would go back to normal, but, after he failed to defeat the Admin,... nothing would be the same. Because of him.

The iron door swings open, and a tear-filled Jessica falls to the ground. Romeo slams the door shut and leaves hastily, like he has somewhere to be. Jessica is sobbing as she crawls over to her brother, who is now on his knees and holding his arms out to his sister. Her drenched-in-blood hands grasp his and he gently pulls her over to him. She is now on her knees, with her hands up against Jesse's chest. He has his arms wrapped around her back and is now straightened his legs but keeping the knees up to the air.

Jessica's dull emerald green eyes are lined with fresh tears, her raven black hair pulled into three braids that reach her hips. Jesse can only place her head into his shoulder, to which she desperatly clings onto him, desperate for any sort of comfort. The smell of burned flesh wafts into Jesse's nose, and he snarls. Romeo branded Jesse's sister with the Admin mark, bones crossing over one another. He could tell, because of the way the thin trails of smoke seeped through her clothing from her back.

He trailed his fingertips over the burns, and Jessica only whimpered. He ignited his hand with a green flame, his power emitting from his Heart Stone. A small magical item embedded in his chest. He used its magic to heal the burns, but it would leave a nasty permanent scar there. He guessed that he and Jessica had matching scars in the same place.

Jesse held Jessica close, as she rested her left shoulder against his chest. The pain was dulling and the tears were drying. Jessica rested her head up against her brother's chest and listened to his steady heartbeat. A rhythmatical rhythm is what put Jessica to sleep, while her brother just stared into the darkness, running his fingers through her silky hair.

Slowly, exhaustion caught up with him, and he drifted off into the void called sleep.
