Prologue

****Taking a deep breath closing my eyes slowly, the air felt as if it was getting colder and colder with each breath I took. Darkness surrounded me, nothing was here, but myself, and the dark. The days seemed to intertwine with the nights, not knowing which was which any more. I was beginning to forget what the warmth from the sunlight felt like, how the moons glow felt so good upon my skin. Tightening my dark purple wings around me tighter, pressing my knees up against my chest with my arms wrapped around my legs. Letting my tail sway gently in the nothingness. Lowering my head into my arms, I was numb. I had nothing but the memories that brought me here, the torment, the torture. Forgetting all the good as the bad seemed to engulf and eat away at what little hope I had left. With each breath I could feel the darkness eating away at my heart and soul. I was starting to fade away, becoming one with the dark. Gulping tightening my eyes closed, taking a deep breath. "Someone please help..." I whispered. I silently prayed for my life to take its course and let me free. I didn't know how much longer I could stay in this purgatory of a life. My hope was beginning to fade, I had no way out. Slowly tightening my wings around myself tighter as I began to cry. My sobs and cries filled the air of nothing, no one could hear me. "Someone...please help...me!" I screamed as if someone might here me in a far away place some how. ****

Leaning an arm on his leg David glanced to Puck sitting beside him.

"So you're telling me there is 1 left?, out of the original 3" David asked.

"Yes sir" Puck spoke glancing to him. Nodding his head David looked to the holographic screen in front of them to the statue that twirled around slowly with an amulet attached around its neck.

"The Cursed Amulet Stone of Orion" David spoke starring at it.

"I already contacted the architects that found it this morning. We leave in an hour" Puck spoke.

"Good, make it sooner" David spoke standing slowly grinning as he looked to Puck.

"Yes Sir" Puck replied as he stood reaching for his phone from his front pocket.

Lifting his coffee cup up to his lips Brooklyn looked to Broadway and Lexington as they conversed over what to make for breakfast. Rolling his eyes as they started to argue over bacon or sausage. Making his way thru the kitchen towards the living room glancing to the TV as Hudson sat in his recliner looking to the 6 o'clock evening news as one of the news women came on.

"Aye Lad, me and you on patrol tonight laddy" Hudson spoke lifting his gaze to Brooklyn as he sat on the couch off the side. Nodding his head softly leaning back against the couch sighing deeply taking another sip of his coffee. Goliath had been called to talk with David and Puck, Elisa hadn't gotten home yet from work. Not seeing Angela yet, pausing hearing heavy feet trot across the room Bronx came around the couch almost sitting on Brooklyn.

"Hi to you too boy" Brooklyn spoke patting his head as Bronx cuddled against him. Hearing voices emerge from the hallway Brooklyn and Hudson turned their heads looking to Goliath and David as they came to stop talking to amongst themselves.

"Brooklyn…" Goliath spoke looking to him as the two of them made eye contact. Quieting down Broadway and Lexington hushed their arguing wondering what was going on.

"...You're in charge for a couple days, I'm accompanying David to travel to Scotland for a day or two. We'd like Hudson to come" Goliath spoke. Arching an eyebrow Brooklyn leaned up a little setting his coffee cup on the table in front of him looking back to Goliath, than to David.

"Nothing major. We found the cursed amulet stone statue that had been lost for decades. Hudson knows the area pretty well, it's a heavy thing to lift that's why I wanted Goliath to join me" David spoke up looking over everybody in the room. Starring at him for a moment Brooklyn looked between Goliath and David.

"If it's cursed why are you bringing it here" Lexington asked leaning his arms on the island counter.

"The statue itself is cursed, there were 4 total. The other 3 were smashed, whoever had the cursed amulet placed the statue under the curse. It resembles a gargoyle of sorts, so I wanted to see what was underneath if we can crack it. The amulets are only cursed, can be cursed by its welder."

"You want to crack open the statue… what if you smash it to bits?" Broadway asked arching an eyebrow looking to David wondering if this was a good idea.

"We wouldn't want to do it, what if it's a gargoyle?" David asked smirking.

"Or you gonna put the curse over us?" Lexington spoke shaking his head looking to Broadway for a moment.

"If I wanted you all to be cursed I would've never woke you all up now would I?" David asked placing his hands in his pockets glancing to Lex.

"Anyways… we'll be leaving in less than an hour" David spoke turning as he looked to Goliath walking out the door way.

"Elisa know your going?" Brooklyn asked reaching for his coffee cup glancing to him.

"Yea I called, she's actually coming along. Lex go with Brooklyn tonight, we'll be back either Saturday or Sunday night" Goliath spoke.

"Goliath are you sure this is a good idea lad, we have no idea who this gargoyle is, where it orientated from, and why it's cursed to begin with?" Hudson spoke.

"I don't know… we'll see" Goliath spoke shrugging as he sighed deeply. Taking a long sip of his coffee, Brooklyn looked to Hudson as the two of them looked to each other.

"I don't like this…" Brooklyn spoke.

"Me neither…" Hudson spoke shaking his head as he stood up slowly out of his recliner.
