Itachi stared in confusion and shock. This cat COULD TALK! He was brought out of his conflicting thoughts when the black cat spoke up. "You're one strange cat." Itachi blinked in shock. "Wait, you can talk?" The former 21-year old ninja just gave him an icy glair in response.
The other cat just sighed and rolled his eyes at Itachi. "Yeah, no kidding. Of course I can talk." The cat replied, with a hint of sass in his tone. Itachi just sighed and looked down at his new paws in slight announce. What a drag, oh great! Now he's sounding like a Nara.
"Oh my StarClan! You sure are one strange cat." The other feline says, with an amused chuckle and a roll of his eyes.
"I'M NOT A CAT!" He hissed, letting his claws scrape against the ground, making a sharp scraping sound. "Ouch! Would you stop that?!" The other cat exclaims, putting his paws over his ears to block out the sound. Itachi lets a small smirk play at the corner of his lips as he watched the other cat squirm.
"Fine" He mutters, sitting on his haunches with his tail curled around his front paws. Itachi sighed and glared up at the sky. At least he still has a way to defend himself. He has claws and teeth like a real cat.
"Who are you anyways?" The cat asks braking the tense silence that had fallen. Itachi tore his gaze from the skyline to stare straight back at the black cat, who was sitting right in front of him.
"My name is Itachi Uchiha." Itachi says bluntly, giving the other cat a blank stare. The other cat sighed in exasperation and pawed at the dirt.
"The name's Thakery Binx, but you can just call me Binx." The other cat said looking back up into Itachi's crimson eyes. Itachi looked away with a huff. "How did I get myself into this situation?"
"Were you born with red eyes?" Thakery asked him. "Because that's not normal for a cat to have red eyes." Binx says, staring up at Itachi with confusion shining in his eyes.
"Yes, I was born with red eyes. And I TOLD YOU THAT I'M NOT A CAT!" Itachi says hissing at the other cat. Binx lowered his ears and stared at his paws. "Right! Right! Sorry." He said back.
"I was a human before this, I was cursed by the three Sanderson sisters. I'm an immortal cat, forced to live with the guilt of not being able to save my little sister. What else can I do? In the beginning, I tried to kill myself, by jumping off of a cliff, but that cursed spell kept me alive." Binx explained to the stunned Uchiha. Then after a moment, he continued speaking. "As much as I wanted to die, to join my family on the other side, I couldn't. I'm a cat with a human soul and the ability to talk. My own father didn't even recognize me, do you know what people in Salem think of black cats? They think that they're bad omens. At least that's what they thought a long time ago." As Binx continued speaking, his voice got more sad and quiet.
"Oh my starClan! That's awful! Why were you turned into a cat in the first place?" Itachi asked him. Binx's expression seemed to grow even sadder, if that was even possible. And Itachi stiffened in preparation for what might come next.
"Because I tried to save my sister Emily from the three Sanderson sisters. I failed at that and she had the life sucked out of her, it was my fault and I was forced to live with my guilt as an immortal cat with a human soul." Itachi could only stare in horror at what he had just heard.
