chapter 1

"Jay will you look at me" Hailey asks. They were driving to a crime scene but Jay would not talk to her. This past week he has only hi to her in the mornings and that's it. Hailey is tired of it.

"I can't I am driving"

"You know what i mean. We haven't talked much since you found out"

"Oh you mean found out you didn't trust me Hailey" Jay said with anger rising in his voice.

"no Jay. I trust you so much. I just could tell you.". They pull up to the crime scene. Jay hops out of the car and slams the door

" Why not"

"Because Jay…. GET DOWN" Hailey sees a gun in the distance and immediately pushes Jay down. Jay gets up to grab his gun and shoots one of the gun men down. 4 more to go. He then notices Hailey didn't get up either

"Hailey" she looks at him and then he can see blood comign out of her stomach. He immediately starts putting pressure on her wound.

"HAILEY. HOLD ON 10-1 MY PARTNER HAS BEEN SHOT" he yells. He first shoots at the gunmen. He can't get Hailey to safety if they are still shooting at them. He slams open the passenger door then he then picks Hailey up who groans in pain and puts her in the passenger seat and runs around grabbing his gun and shoots at the gun men some more. He takes two more down. He tries to jump into the truck but then he feels a singing sensation near his shoulder. He ignores it. All that matters is getting Hailey help. He shoots again and takes down one last gunman. What he doesn't realize is one ran away

With no more gunman in sight he jumps into the car and starts to speed away. He then tells Hailey to put pressure on her wound and drives away while shooting at the people. he starts driving to med "Hailey how are you doing"

"Not so good." she says blinking slowly "How are you Jay"

"Are you seriously asking how i am doing. you just got shot"

"i just wanted to protected you I couldn't see you get shot again. "

"And you did hailey. I didn't get shot you did so good. Just stay awake for me"

"I am sorry."

"Hailey you have nothing to be sorry about. I understand what you did with roy. and I am sorry i was mad at you. I love you and want to be with you forever."

"I love you jay halstead" and then she closes her eyes.

" HAILEY. OPEN YOUR EYES PLEASE. FOR ME. JUST OPEN YOUR EYES" He starts crying and presses his foot on the gas harder. the finally reach med. he pulls hailey out and carries her to the entrance. "SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE. MY FIANCÉ HAS BEEN SHOT"
