Draco
A/N: Hello everyone, this will be an experiment for myself to see if I can write an OC story in the world of My Hero Academia. Please feel free to write a review with constructive criticism on what you like/dislike.
Chapter 1
It's been said that the past shapes the future. That the decisions you make shape you into the person you become.
In the world that we live in, this philosophy affects our society in more ways than one. With the awakening of quirks, heroes and villains become more common in the daily lives of the people.
My life will be affected by both these groups in more ways than one. Here is my story as I rise as The Crimson Dawn Hero: Draco. _
I was on my way to the local playground that I heard my mother talking about today. I was curious to see if what she said was true.
As I turned the corner of the street, I saw the playground across the road. At first I was excited to have found what I was looking for. However, a frown appeared on my face when I saw what was going on there.
There were three boys that appeared to be harassing two other boys. Of the two boys on the one side there was one on his knees clutching his arm, while the other one was shielding him by standing in front of him.
After making sure the street can be safely crossed, I ran across the street to see if the situation could be solved without a fight. As I approached the two groups, I could hear a conversation going on between the defending boy and the boys harassing him.
"You're making him cry Kacchan! If you keep on hurting him, uhh.. I'll uhh.. I'll stop you myself!" The boy said with clear nervousness and fear in his voice. The leader of the bullies now named Kacchan smirked when he decided to reply. "You want to pretend to be a hero? You don't stand a chance without a quirk, Deku."
The three boys activated their quirks with the intent to hurt the boy standing up to them. Before they could approach the boy named Deku, I made it to the playground and shouted loudly "Hey you know that you can get in serious trouble for using your quirks out in public don't you!?"
Everyone was momentarily surprised with my words and looked to see who said it. I stood before them all with clear disappointment in my eyes.
Deku looked at the boy with silent awe and gratefulness for his rescue. Before he could voice anything Kacchan decided to voice his anger at this new boy.
"Hey, I don't know who you are but you have no business here. We are teaching Deku here that a quirkless hero can't do anything and needs to be put in his place." After stating his intent, Kacchan began to make small explosions in his hands to prove his point.
Seeing that words would not end this situation peacefully I gave them one last chance to leave before things got worse. "Listen, I'm giving you one last chance. Leave now and I'll forget that I saw this happening. If not, I'll have no choice but to force you to leave."
My words seemed to really anger Kacchan. With a snarl he decided to charge me while shouting "You can't tell me what to do! If you want to defend Deku, I'll just deal with you first before getting to him!"
Deku wanted to shout at Kacchan to stop, but before he could he saw something amazing. As Kacchan swung his right fist at the boy with explosions trailing along, the boy raised his left hand and caught Kacchan fist within it.
What shocked them all was the new boy's arms. His arms transformed into red gauntlets. The gauntlets ran the whole length of the boy's arm and where his fingers would normally be, were now replaced with black like claws.
'I didn't want to use my quirk but this boy didn't give me a choice. He didn't hesitate to attack me at all. I guess I'll have to end this quickly before something bad happens.' As I finished my thought, the boy looked at me with surprise. He must have thought I'd just take the hit.
"You shouldn't have attacked me. Now I have to force you to leave like I promised earlier." I focused my strength in my left hand and through the boy back several feet into the ground past the other two bullies.
"I'd suggest you pick him up and leave now." I said in a neutral voice. The two bullies nodded silently and picked up the dazed boy and left the playground.
After making sure the three bullies were gone, I looked at the two boys who were being picked on. The boy that I saw earlier on the ground holding his arm must have snuck away while everything was going on because he was now gone. However the other boy who was named Deku was still there staring at me with awe.
I walked up to the boy and snapped my finger in front of his face to get his attention. "Hey, are you alright? Are you hurt at all?" The boy snapped out of it and looked at the boy that saved him.
The boy in front of him had shoulder length red hair with gold tips at the end. His irises were golden like the sun with pupils that resembled a reptile. His face now showed genuine concern for him while previously there was disappointment. He was of similar height and build to Kacchan.
"Thank you so much for helping me!" The boy said to me, "I tried to make Kacchan stop but it wasn't working." I nodded at the boy and replied, "It's no problem Deku, i won't stand by and let one boy hurt another if I can do something about it" The boy involuntary flinched when I called him Deku.
"Uhh… my name is Izuku Midoriya, not Deku." He told me. "Deku is a nickname Kacchan gave me because I'm useless…" he lowered his head as he finished explaining his name to me.
I was shocked by the explanation. How can a boy be mean to another like that. I needed some answers so I asked Midoriya, "why would he call you useless and give you such a horrible nickname?"
A look of indecisiveness went through Midoriya's eyes as he looked up back at me before saying. "It's because I'm quirkless…"
My eyes went wide when I heard his answer. I never met someone who was quirkless, from what my mom explained to me one time, it is rare for a person not to have a quirk. This made me understand the other boys' anger towards Midoriya earlier.
"I have to say, even though you don't have a quirk, it was pretty heroic of you to stand up to those boys." I told him honestly. Midoriya began to tear up hearing those words. "Really…? *Sniff* *sniff* no one has ever called me heroic before…" he replied as he began to cry.
I started to panic when Midoriya started crying. "I'm I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry! Oh man how do I make this up to you!?"
Midoriya started to laugh as he wiped away his tears. "I'm sorry for making you freak out. You just surprised me with your words and that's how I reacted."
"Well Midoriya allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ryu Sanada, let's be friends!" I told him with a warm smile and excitement in my voice.
Midoriya looked at me with such excitement in his eyes. "Yes! Of course I'd like to be friends with you Sanada!" The two boys were really happy at that moment.
Little did either of them know that this was the start of a special friendship that will last for the years to come.
