Haru was unsure what to do, her parents had just left for work overseas as they do every year. It was around then that Haru started to feel unwell so she went to see her doctor who sent her to a hospital for more tests.
It was then that Haru learned what was wrong with her. She was contemplating telling her friends, and her parents; she was so in thought she didn't realize the silver-haired teen walking up to her.
"Oi" Haru jumped at the familiar phrase and tone, and she turned around to see Gokudera. He had his hair pulled into a ponytail, a red shirt with a black jacket and some black denim jeans paired with his black and red running shoes. As always he had his gear on, and Haru was sure to have a stick or two of dynamite with him.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, he raised an eyebrow almost questioning her why she asked before she saw the decision in his eyes.
"Now that things are quiet, I'm getting tests done to find out if what my mom had is genetic." Haru tilted her head a little puzzled, she was sure she was told his father had his mother killed. As if understanding the question that was never spoken he proceeded to explain to her about what he learned in the future. She quietly listened as he talked and she realized that she may have been the first person he told.
"Are you gonna talk to your dad?"
"I don't know." They were quiet for a moment sitting on a bench outside a hospital.
"Why are you here Haru?" Haru froze, while they were talking she forgot her own predicament. Sighing, she decided she would tell everyone about what was happening to her.
"Before I say anything now, I just found out and haven't spoken to my parents yet." She took a second to breathe, she didn't really want to say anything. If she said it out loud then it makes it real, and she didn't want it to be real. She dropped her head down, frustrated she couldn't tell him. Gokudera was the one person she could tell anything and everything too, and something this important should be easy to say. Suddenly there was a pressure around her shoulders and she was pulled into a hug. Something the man beside her didn't do, ever but she accepted it and found herself crying.
She was dying and there wasn't much to do about it, it had progressed too far.
"It's not fair." She said between sobbing.
"I know." He pulled her into a hug tighter, and she was glad that sometimes less talking communicated more between them.
"I can be there when you tell them." He offered, and she looked up at him. Nodding her head she pulled out her phone and attempted to dail her mother's number. Her hands were shaking, but steady hands engulfed hers and closed the phone.
"Let's go back to your place." He helped her stand and kept his arm around her as they walked back to her house. Never once did he take his arm off her, and not even when they came across Tsuna, Kyoko and Yamamoto. She didn't want to talk and he was keeping her steady so he simply waved at them and kept going with her leading him to her house. She knew the others were curious and probably assumed they were closer than they thought; which they kind were. However nothing deterred Gokudera from bringing Haru home, so they could call her parents in private.
Once there, they sat down and pulled out Haru's phone. Gokudera pulled her into his lap and she put the phone between them as she called. Before her parents picked up Gokudera said the words she didn't know she needed to hear.
"I am right here with you, every step of the way Haru." The phone connected and her parents said hi.
"Hi, I have something to tell you guys."
