A/N :- I never liked Elena killing Kol but I can't blame her for that either, she was desperate, her brother's life was on the line, either Klaus was going to take her brother for a never ending Vampire hunt which would have ruined his life or Kol would have got him killed, if not by Damon then by compelling someone else. She knew dagger was not a solution because the first thing Kol would do on being undaggered was come after her brother. Desperate times need desperate measures and killing Kol was just that for her.

So this is where the idea of this story emerged, what if Elena was not so desperate, what if Elena knew about the prison worlds and what if Luke Parker was her friend way before that and he told her about those.

So this is where my story begins, Klaus is amused to see the doppelganger pay him a visit, they sit across each other while Klaus couldn't resist the urge to taunt her, "A bit ironic you coming to me for help, when your friends just tried to bury me in a cement tomb."

Elena couldn't hold back either, "It is your fault, you started all this when you forced Jeremy to kill all those vampires."

K, "And now my little brat of a brother is going to make things worse. Well, he never did like Damon. I suppose I should do something shouldn't I?" he asks mockingly.

E, "Call him off Klaus"

Suddenly Klaus' amused tone turns serious, "You are in no position to make demands, love. Whilst I'd like to cure you to make more hybrids I do have other reasons for finding the cure not the least of which is destroying it. So you lot can't use it against me."

Elena holds her composure and in her ever so calm demeanor she says, "Whatever our differences we want the same thing" she moves a bit forward in her seat, "Please. Klaus, I'm begging you."

Klaus seems to be beyond amused and pleased by this reaction, he smiles like a god and rolls his eyes around the room before looking back at her, his expression telling that how can I deny such a sweet, sweet girl, however what Klaus didn't knew was that Elena was not sweet, she was desperate, she had to do something anything. He takes his phone out and rings Kol.

Klaus, "Little brother, just two days home and I'm told you have already gone and made a mess."

Kol, "Come on Nik, I was only having some fun"

Klaus, "Those vampires were for my hunter."

Kol, "I'll make some more, no shortage of people."

Klaus, "Where's Damon Salvatore?"

Kol, "I gave him some good and proper beating just for old time sake."

Klaus, "Yes, well, then you have had your fun. Now let him go and come home or you'll find yourself back in a box."

Kol, "Hey, hey, no need to be nasty about it."

Without breaking any eye contact from Elena, Klaus continues, "On the contrary I find nastiness to be essential whenever my siblings try to sabotage me. Listen closely Kol, stay away from the Gilbert boy. You understand?"

This conversation seem to have brought some sort of relief to her as she leaves from there thanking Klaus for his assistance, her relief soon vanishes when she learns that Kol compelled Damon to kill Jeremy, Stefan shows up in this case and breaks Damon's neck after which he ties him in the root cellar and doesn't let Elena see him because she sired to him and maybe she would free him too.

Rebekah on the other hand spots Kol in the hallways and blocks his path, "Going somewhere? I would if I were you. If Damon kills the hunter Nik will not be pleased."

Kol, "I told Nik I wouldn't touch the kid, I didn't" he says with a clever smirk

R, "Oh. Well, that was clever, I'm sure he'll really appreciate it." Kol tries to leave, he passes beside his sister and Rebekah holds him by the arm and points a dagger on his back.

Kol is shocked for a moment, "You'd really dagger me?"

R, "If I do, Damon's compulsion ends and this is all over."

Kol, "And then you're no better than Niklaus. Daggering siblings when you disagree with them. Look at what this family has become. I mean Elijah won't even show his face. He's so disgusted by our bickering. This cure has ruined us. And it hasn't even been found yet. Just imagine what will happen if it is"

R, "This family was ruined long before we knew about the cure." Rebekah was damn serious in this conversation when Kol came at her with the white oak stake, Rebekah held his wrist just in time, she was shocked seeing her brother trying to kill her, "Kol" she says, shocked and hurt.

Kol told her with all the seriousness he had, "I won't let you raise Silas." He doesn't even take his hand back, Rebekah is still holding his wrist when Klaus shows up and throws him away from his sister, he hits the door.

Klaus, "Enough of this foolishness. Put it down Kol" Kol exits their home.

Rebekah recovers from the shock and turning to her brother she says, "He was going to kill me."

Klaus tells her with a smug smirk on his face, "Well then, I think you need a lesson in how to properly dagger a sibling."

There is a minute of silence as both siblings stare each other, Klaus with that crooked smile and Rebekah with shock until her shocked emotion turns into anger and she says, "Burn in hell" and leaves his house.

Elena returns home and is in a conversation with Jeremy, "I care about you Jer"

Jeremy moves her hand away from his shoulder and says, "Don't, Elena whatever it is inside of me that makes me want to kill vampires right now it is on overdrive so don't."

Elena looks to his hand and says, "Jeremy"

Jeremy realizes that he is holding a stake and keeps it down, soon Klaus walks to the Gilbert house and knocks on the door, Elena is shocked to see him, "Good evening Gilbert clan" Klaus says with that ever so charming smile on his face.

"What do you want Klaus" Elena comes straight to the point.

K "I have come to fetch my hunter. Seeing as how my brother has become a liability Jeremy will be safer with me."

Elena turns to see her brother, Jeremy answers, "I think I'll pass. I've killed enough people for you today."

Klaus rolls his eyes on the Gilbert house and says, "You think you're safer here?" He smirks, "Hmm clearly you don't know Kol. He'll stop at nothing until he gets what he wants, so strange as it may seem, I'm your best bet."

This time Elena answers him, "Sorry, but I think we'd rather take our chances."

He steps as closer to the threshold as he can and says, "Fine. But when Kol does come and he will come, be sure to let me know. Preferably before he burns your nice little home to the ground." Then addressing to Jeremy, he says, "And as for you, hunter, there's no shortage of people to turn and loved ones to threaten, so sleep well. We'll plan on finishing our work tomorrow." He leaves and Elena closes the door behind him.

Jeremy, "This is never gonna end. If Kol doesn't kill me first, then Klaus is just gonna force me to kill more innocent people. How many is it gonna take? Ten? A Hundred?"

Elena listens to her brother's worries and comes to a realization, "Jeremy, Kol's problem is Silas, what if we get the cure without raising Silas."

"What do you mean by that?" Jeremy asks clearly confused.

Elena has never shared to Jeremy the secrets of the Gemini coven, nor has she ever mentioned to him about her friendship with Luke Parker, "Nothing." Elena says and hurries into her room.

She takes out her old journal and finds Luke's number written on a card, she dials it, he doesn't pick on the first or the second but on the third ring he picks up. "Elena…" she tells Luke everything and Luke tells her there are two prison worlds one of 1903 and the other of 1992, he agrees to help her to send her to the prison world of 1903 to get the cure without raising Silas but the condition is he is not ready to let her go alone.

After Jeremy has slept Elena sneaks into his room and gets Kol's number from his cell. Kol was travelling on the streets listening to music when an unknown number shows up on his phone, "Who's this?"

"Elena Gilbert"

Kol smirks, "Oh. Well, I do like to talk to pretty faces, how did you happen to call me? Was it by mistake or is my charm attracts more than that of the Salvatores."

Elena ignores his comments and says, "What if I told you that there was a way to get the cure without raising Silas."

Kol gets angry hearing Silas' name and rings her doorbell, "Invite me in so that we can talk face to face."

Elena steps out of the house and says, "I am not going to invite you in but I am not lying, so tell me, what if I told you that there was a way to get the cure without raising Silas."

Kol, "Then I'd say that you're lying or drunk or desperate or desperate, drunk, lying."

Elena sees that her words have no effect on Kol and Kol is not in the mood to stand and talk, inside he wishes to burn this nice little home to the ground or to kill Elena so that all this façade ends but he decides to play by her and hear whatever she has to say, he goes and sits on the swing in her porch. Elena walks and sits next to him. Kol smirks at her stupidity.

"You know I can rip your heart out right" he says.

Elena says, "You can rip my heart out after listening what I have to say to you."

Kol seems amused, he looks at his phone and says, "Fine, you have twenty minutes Elena Gilbert and if I don't get convinced by your thoughts then you're as good as dead."

Elena calms herself taking a deep breath then says, "Kol have you heard of the prison worlds?"

"Replica of this world, designed to imprison the one they're created for, yes, I have, in fact I taught some of the Gemini witches how to make them in the 1900s." Kol says without any amusement, as if he's bored.

Elena turns to him and says, "What if I told you that I have a friend who happens to be a Gemini witch, who is ready to send me into the 1903 prison world to get the cure, and as you said the only persons in the prison world are the people for whom it is created so I can get the cure without raising Silas."

This time Elena catches Kol's attention and he turns to her, "And how do I know that you lot won't raise Silas?"

Elena answers him, "Kol, the answer is simple, I don't want my brother to be involved in this, I never wanted him to be involved, if I am human, Jeremy can return to his studies and build a career, this is what I want for him, what my little brother wants is to go to the art school and graduate and have a life. This is no life, and I know my brother that if I am cured, he won't hunt any more vampires, even Klaus will stop forcing him to do that. It all ends."

Kol seems to be satisfied by her answer then says, "I have a condition"

"What?" Elena asks

"If you're going to the prison world, then I'll go with you and after returning if you so much as try to raise Silas…"

"Then you can kill me then and there" Elena completes his sentence, "But I still don't know where Silas is buried."

"Leave it to me darling, I'll get the map to the cure from Shane's head before I rip it off and then we go and get the cure together." Which is exactly what Kol does and the next day they are both on a road trip to Portland.

Jeremy wakes up and finds Elena missing, he informs Bonnie about that, Luke has put a cloaking spell on both Elena and Kol so they can't be found, Klaus and Rebekah too hear about Elena being missing and it is hours after which they realize that Kol is missing too, Bonnie has failed on her locator spell to track both Elena and Kol and Klaus rings Kol.

"Kol, what did you do to Elena?"

Kol looks at his passenger seat and says, "Nothing brother, just took her on a road trip with me." After saying this he throws the phone out of the window. Elena is nervous and Kol can sense that, "You know Elena, you don't have to be nervous, after all, we're both going to get this thing in a much simpler way."

Elena looks at him and he moves a strand of her hair from her face and tugs it behind her ear, "Relax darling, this road trip is going to be fun."
