Sudden Attacks
James ran as fast as he could. Dashing through trees and branches, hoping to catch the culprit. Although the war had been long over there were Death Eaters still at large. That's why James had become an auror. Well, the first reason was because he thought it was quite an impressive job. Second was because he knew his dad would be proud of him, but honestly, most of all it was because he wanted to get rid of all the Death Eaters in the world. He wanted them to pay for what his family had lost because of them.
Right now James was chasing Nott's son Theodore. Honestly, it wasn't going too well for James right now. He was stuck in a forest that he wasn't familiar with. Chasing a Death Eater while slightly injured. He wasn't even sure where he was right now or where Nott even was.
James sighed, turning in a circle, and surveying his surroundings.
'Where am I?' James wondered.
Then, he suddenly heard a voice.
"Potter. Potter. Potter," the voice tisked.
"Show yourself!" James called out.
"Not until we've had a chat," the voice told him.
"We can have a chat after I know who you are!" James roared.
"No, I don't think so," the voice said curtly.
"Well then I guess we'll just have to do it," James told the voice and he shouted, "Stupefy!" to where the voice was coming from.
There was a small rustle before 10 men wearing black surrounded him.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk," the voice tsked stepping out of the trees and into the clearing, "There is no your way. Only mine."
"What do you want?" James asked.
"I want a chat with your son, Harry Leo Potter" the voice told him.
"Why?" James asked. Out of all the things he could have asked for, why would he ask for a chat with his son? James had expected the voice to ask him for riches or gold or power. Not a chat with his 6 year old son.
"You see. I have everything I want. Everything. Money, power, glory, everything you can ever imagine and more. Except this one thing that I need to achieve my final goal. And your son. Your son will get me what I want," the voice finished dramatically.
"Why do you think I'll let you get to my son?" James asked.
"Because I'll just talk to him by force then," the voice whispered.
"I don't think so," James said quickly before withdrawing his wand.
"Incendio!" James shouted as a dry log caught on fire.
"No!" the voice yelled. "Stop him!"
And James tried to apparate away, but a man was holding on to his leg.
"Stupefy!" James shouted at the man, but the man simply dodged.
"Sectumsempra!" the man yelled, and James quickly deflected his spell with his shield charm.
"Impedimenta!" James yelled, but the man put up his own shield charm.
"Confringo! Reducto!" James screamed.
"Crucio," the other man muttered. And James's eyes went wide as the curse narrowly missed him by inches.
"Relashio!" James screamed one last time, and this time he hit the man making him fall, and allowing James to apparate away.
OoOoOoOoOo
James slammed open the door to his house, bloodied and battered.
"James!" his wife Mavis called, "What's wrong?"
"We need to go, now Mavis!" James yelled to her. "Take Harry and let's go!"
"What's wrong James," Mavis asked confused.
"They're...they're after us. We need to move!" James told her.
"James...Are you sure that's the best choice right now?" Mavis asked him.
"We have no time," James told her, closing his eyes. "We need to go now!"
"Okay," Mavis gave in, and went to get Harry.
