Hello everyone. Oh boy, I had a tough time on this one. I had to change the story three times.

Three times.

This story is one of those that I wanted to release yesterday, but I had a trouble time, until the idea finally managed to stick. And it is a couple that I doubt anyone ever thought of working it, but it can be done! It can be done.

Enough of all this chatting, let's get this one-shot story rolling, shall we?

Chigusa felt a bit alone lately. Her god,Ouka, and Asuka went on a journey to the west, while she is stuck in Orario to guard it alone. She sighed to herself and pondered what she could do. She didn't have a problem with it, but pondered about if maybe she needed to get stronger.

However, she is reminded by Ottarl that she could get stronger by keeping pushing forward. She decided to meditate, to keep her mind cleared out.

She tried to remove all those negative thoughts, those thoughts to put it away. She knows she can get stronger.

She got up after meditating and went to see if she could look into doing something to distract her mind. She wore her adventurer's clothing, wearing a short purple kimono, and noticed the sun was nearly up at the top.

Noon.

She walked around the town, enjoying the time. Then as she walked on, and spotted Bell alone. She was surprised as normally he would be with someone or his familia. But it seems that isn't the case.

She went over to greet him and he was surprised to see her.

"Hey Chigusa!" He smiled happily.

"H-hello Bell." She smiled shyly.

"How are ya?"

"I'm good. Just my familia and god went to the East and I am pretty much keeping an eye on it."

He smiled sadly "Oh. Sorry to hear that."

She shook her head "It does get lonely. I decided to walk around and find something to do."

"Well….I have nothing to do. Do you want to hang out?"

She flushed a little "Ummm….sure."

"Great! Let's go."

Both were walking side by side as they looked at something to do. They found a small platform with large curtains. Few cut out cardboards were on the side of the curtains.

"Ladies and Gentleman! Today is a day where couples test their relationship! Who here likes to join us?!" Hermes was on a stage, wearing a red suit and top hat. He looked around as some couples were chosen by random. Then he noticed Bell with Chigusa. "Perfect."

Bell felt his spine tingle in fear. "Umm….Chigusa, we better-"

"Ah! Ladies and Gentlemen, we have an interesting couple. A celebrity! Bell Cranel and Chigusa Hitachi!"

Chigusa's face was redder than a tomato. Bell and herself a couple? She would admit Bell is cute, but her heart had it for Ouka. She did try to get his attention, but he is very...dense.

Before she could protest, both were dragged up the stage with other couples. Bell noticed most of them are adventurers he has seen a few times in the Dungeon, but nothing in recollection of their names at all.

"Now we finally have all of the couples we need! So my assistant, Asfi, will assist me with spinning the wheel for our first event!"

Asfi was on stage, wearing a burlesque dress. Although on the outside she is smiling, on the inside, she is fuming. "Just keep smiling. When this is over, grab the club over there and send your god on a one way trip to Heaven."

She spun the wheel as it began to slow down. And it showed question marks.

"Wonderful! We will ask one couple to guess what is their favorite thing to do in their past time! You will receive a point if you get it right! Just remember, I know when someone is lying" He then moved his microphone to the first contestant "So let's start with you."

As the question was asked, Bell and Chigusa became nervous. They barely know what they like, and they can't exactly just whisper. They could try to get themselves out of it. Before they could leave, a microphone was placed near Chigusa.

"Alright Chigusa, tell us what is Bell's favorite thing to do?"

"Oh no!" She began to think of anything. Anything at the top of her head. "Ummm….he likes to read stories?"

This surprised Bell at the guess as he smiled "I do actually! I like to read stories about heroes."

"My oh my! I could tell that Bell is telling the truth. This is the first couple that show their love and devotion, enough to know their favorite thing to do."

Both of them looked the other way as their cheeks were red.

However, a certain petite goddess and a palum were just walking by and saw all of this happening.

"Damn it Hermes! Let Bell off the stage!" Hestia shouted angrily.

"No one can do Hestia. The game started and he had to participate with his girlfriend."

"But she isn't my-" Bell was cut off as Hermes continued.

"Anyways, let us continue with the last couple!"

Poor Bell wanted out, but it didn't help. He looked over and saw the dark haired teen looking a bit embarrassed. If Ouka saw this, then he would assume both of them are a couple.

But a small part of the ninja's mind asked her, is that even a bad thing? She looked over and admitted Bell did look cute. White hair, red eyes, almost like a rabbit. He is also kind and gentle, but also a fierce fighter she could respect.

"Well it seems only two couples receive a point. And now we move on to the next round!" Hermes then gestured for Asfi to spin the wheel. She is slowly losing her smile and spun the wheel. The people and gods are entertained by this.

The wheel spun as the couples got nervous about what it would be. The wheel stopped and Hermes smiled "Well, this will be fun! Contestants will have to guess the hand of their couple!"

Bell and the other men were instructed to turn around and wait. They waited as Bell felt nervous about this. He noticed his goddess, annoyed along with Lilli. He couldn't do much about it. He could step off, but he rather just end this quickly.

"Now you may turn around now."

They turned around and saw that they could only see a hand sticking out on a hole in the door. The men grew nervous as Bell did as well.

"Okay, so one at a time, you will pick which hand you believe is your dearest lover! Let us start with Bell!"

He went over and looked at each hand. Each one looked delicate to another. The skin tones were different and he looked carefully. He walked over a bit until he saw one hand and decided to hold it.

Then another contestant went forward and picked. It was like this for a while, until the last one.

"Alright gentlemen, step aside and let the ladies open the door!"

They stepped aside as the doors swung open.

Bell was shocked that he found her. She smiled shyly at him.

"You're pretty good at it…."

He chuckled, "I'm happy that I found you."

Her cheeks went red a bit. Her heartbeat was a little fast on that comment.

"Alright! It seems only three couples are able to get it right. And in the lead so far is Bell and Chigusa!"

The crowd cheered and clapped. Hestia was surprised how good Bell was and began to question if maybe he was seeing her secretly. Lilli was at a loss as well.

The competition went on. Both Bell and Chigusa began to enjoy these games and seemed to know what the other would do and were already leading the perfect points somehow. Hermes was noticing this and was impressed how Bell and Chigusa worked together, and began to be impressed with how the couple got along. They were all smiles and he began to believe that there is more to this relationship.

Asfi at first was annoyed by this whole competition. As time passed though, she began to see the white rabbit and the young martial artist able to compliment each other and she was enjoying this. Watching the couple doing better and better.

And now the last event.

"Now, I will have each couple tell how they feel about one another and will give it all!"

Bell and Chigusa held hands and looked shyly at one another.

"Bell….I. I never thought in my day that I would have a wonderful day today. I know we met in the Dungeon on the Monster Parade. It was a bad start, but as I got to see you and know you, I saw a brave, kind, and handsome man I met." She blushed a bit as she then looked in his red eyes "Bell….today I got to know you even more and….my heart began to beat faster each time I am close to you, my stomach felt butterflies whenever I see your eyes, and….just seeing your smile brings warmth in me….and….and I want to explore more these feelings."

Bell for once got a good look at her as the wind passed by. Her short hair shows her green eyes and face more. One thing came to him.

Beautiful.

He still held her hands and massaged her hand.

"Chigusa….I would admit that I was uncertain on what we were going to do together. Who knew we would be placed on this crazy event and having fun. I admit that I am….attracted to you….maybe just finally seeing you in a new light, a loyal, caring, and beautiful woman I met." He parted her hair seeing more of her eyes "I will be honest, I am….trying to stay brave as my stomach is flipping around, like I am ready for a big fight….I am starting to have these feelings that well….I want to explore them with you….if you are willing to do so."

Both blushed and just held on.

Somewhere in the Babel Tower, a certain goddess of love ordered her captain to take care of Hermes after this was all over. Sure the lines may seem corny to some, but she thought it came from the heart and that is what matters. Was she angry she couldn't get near her rabbit? Yes. But that soul….it's so shiny and so beautiful. And Chigusa's soul is brightening more! She wanted more.

She will allow it for now.

The event ended and of course, Bell and Chigusa won this and were given a romantic dinner in a near high end restaurant.

Of course Hermes went nearly over the budget. However, he did his job of entertaining people and he did so with style.

Just as he was packing, he bumped into a tall, muscular boaz with a stoic look.

"H-hey King! What's going on?!"

"Hmmm"

"Ummm….what did I do?"

He was grabbed by the neck and was held. Not enough to take his life away, but took him toward one destination. As much as Asfi would love to help her god out, she had important matters to attend to, aka making sure the romantic dinner went well and laying low from Freya.

Yes, that's it!

Both Bell and Chigusa were changed into different clothes. Bell wore a simple black suit, while Chigusa wore an elegant purple kimono as she blushed on how he looked. He would blush as well at how beautiful she looked.

"Wow….you look beautiful, Chigusa."

"You look handsome….Bell…."

Both blushed and ordered their food. Bell asked for a steak, while Chigusa wanted to try the salmon. Both held their hands and blushed.

"I...I never have been on a date at all…" Bell admitted to it.

"I'm surprised though….it's just I would assume you already went out on dates before…." she looked at him differently.

"Oh no. Most of the time, I am at the Dungeon or with my friend Welf, improving my armor."

She smiled softly "I would say I never had a chance to date anyone. I tried with Ouka, but he seemed too focused on his training or I would chicken out."

He held her hand "Sorry about that."

She shook her head, still smiling "Maybe it wasn't meant to be…."

He caresses her hand. Despite her training in martial arts, they felt delicate. She liked the way he was showing care for her.

Then the food was served and they ate quietly.

Bell then cuts a small piece of the steak "Want to try mine?"

She nodded and did so. She smiled "Wow…" after chewing it and swallowing she responded "Tasty! Here, try the salmon."

He did so and tasted the moist fish. "This is pretty good."

From the distance, Asfi smiled and kept an eye open making sure the whole thing went without a hitch. They both seemed to have a nice time together and maybe Hermes did a good thing for once.

She won't admit it.

She looked on as both young couples were enjoying the evening meal and chatting.

Two hours later….

Bell and Chigusa changed back to their regular clothes and were holding hands. They arrived at her home. "Well….I wish it didn't end this outing."

"Me neither…."

Both didn't want to end it, but knew the day was over.

"Do you….want to head out again, tomorrow?" Bell had this hopeful look. One that Chigusa couldn't resist.

"Of course! I would love to."

"Great!"

Both stared at one another and didn't know what to do.

Chigusa became the braver of the two, and gave a small peck on the lips. Bell was stunned and surprised.

She smiled softly. She then was heading to her home, when she was pulled up to Bell and felt a kiss on the lips, only longer.

She closed her eyes and caressed his cheek.

In the distance, Hermes, wearing a neck brace and a fresh arm cast and leg, smiled widely.

"Mission accomplished! Now to tell Zeus about this wonderful news!"

He limped back home, knowing his mission was accomplished.

As for Bell and Chigusa, well after the kiss both said their goodbyes and a new relationship blossomed.

A/N: In two of the events from the Danmachi Memoria Freese, Ottarl actually treated Chigusa like a student. He reminds her of how he used to be until he achieved the level he is today. This story is inspired by a Sailor Moon episode, where Sailor Uranus and Neptune were on this competition and gave up after winning every contest of love of sort. It's a bit of an old episode and it's hilarious.

My other idea was having them handcuffed and involved other heroes trying to break the cuffs, with everyone including the King failing. It would have taken for Bell and Chigusa confessing to each other which frees them. Another one was Bell being part of Take's familia, but I scrapped it.

So yeah I am uncertain who is next. For now though, I have to work on the Bonus Chapter for Golden Heart and work on the next chapter for A Brighter Future. Until then take care.
