it was understatement to say that danzo is disappointed in his old friend\rival. A man once whose name can make enemy shiver in fear. a great warrior and leader, the god of shinobi has reduced to weak willed old man.
"when will you understand hiruzen that your ideals of peace meant nothing in this world" thought danzo as he thought about the now so called hyuuga incident.
Hyuuga clan are one of the most powerful clan of Konoha, just after Uchiha and senju clan, know for their famed dojutsu the byakugan and their taijustu style gentle fist. They strictly follow their traditions and believe that weak should obediently follow strong this has led to divide of their clan into two houses the main family and the branch family. the branch family are marked with a so called "dojutsu protection seal" called the caged bird seal. The function of seal is simple if someone tried to forcefully take the byakugan of marked the marked member the seal would remove any speciality of byakugan and turn them into like any other normal human thus rendering them useless but there is also secondary function of seal when a certain handseal would be formed the seal would cause great pain and can even kill the wearer. This function is mainly used by main family to discipline branch family basically making branch family slaves of main family.
Few months ago kumogakure in pretence of peace talk and alliance attempt to kidnap the hyuuga heiress. kumo's obsession on getting byakugan is a well-known thing but no one guessed they would take such bold action of trying to kidnap the hyuuga heiress from hyuuga compound. they nearly succeeded if not for hiashi the hyuuga clan head catching kumo ambassador before he can leave the the village but when hiashi tried to apprehend the ambassador. the ambassador in last ditch effort to escape tried fight hiashi but he was killed in the battle.
But when they asked the raikage of this treachery not only he denied his crime but claimed that Konoha murdered their ambassador he actually had audacity to demand the killer of ambassador, hiashi hyuuga followed by threats of war if his demands are not fulfilled.
The treats were nothing but hollow words by raikage. It was a well known thing among the hidden villages that how daimyo of lightning nation and daimyo of earth nation who is a close friend of lightinig daimyo has kept tight leash on power of kumo and iwa after third raikage's failed attempt to overthrow the daimyo. kumo has barely regained 65 percent of their true power before the third shinobi war along with the recent rampage of the nibi's jinchiruki kumo even with Konoha's weakened state it will be impossible for kumo to win against konoha with their current strength
But despite knowing that hiruzen in his fear that another great war start if they don't agree the demands accepted their demands. that fool even if they have refused their demands the raikage won't have done anything because he knew that if he fought a war against konoha. kumo would be annihilated. he was just a dog who can only bark but can't bite.
Kumo would have gained the byakugan if not for hiazashi , hiashi's twin brother and member of branch family of hyuuga clan, proposing to go in his brother place and thus protecting both the byakugan and his brother.
But despite kumo not actually gaining byakugan the incident was great humiliation for Konoha because not only they had back down by the threats of war they had actually agreed to give head of a noble clan. This had made many doubt strength of Konoha and some clients actually started to give missions to kumo instead of Konoha
Danzo was brought out his thought by the voice of his subordinates
"Lord danzo" said the root anbu
"Fuu torune report" said danzo
"lord danzo the mission was successful not only we were able to sabotage kumo's mission we were able to make it seems like that it was kumo jonin has gone rogue and killed his team and robbed the caravan with client suffering not fatal but serious injuries by jonin's hand. these scrolls contain jonin's body and items looted from caravan " reported the agents now revealed fuu yamanaka and torune. as torune placed two scrolls on desk first marked "body" and second "money"
"good job agents for time being rest until a new mission is assignment to you" said danzo
"hai lord danzo" said root agents as they shushined from the room
"after sabotaging these missions clients will again start sending request to konoha " thought danzo he sigh in disappointment as complaint in his head how he had to clean the mess made by his friend
danzo was once again snapped out of his by a really loud shout of a certain scarred academy instructor
"NARUTO UZUMAKI!"
When danzo looked out of his window he was greeted with sight of a blond orange clad boy jumping on the building to Konoha's resident troublemaker who seemed to again bunked the academy to caused some mischief again.
He could not help but once again sigh in disappointment at another one of his friends mistake.
He had warned hiruzen that the boy's status as kyuubi jinchiruki should be kept secret. villagers would not react positively at the news of boy being kyuubi jinchiruki .
But that idealistic fool didn't heed his warning announced his status to public thinking that they would see the boy as their hero for keeping kyuubi at bay. And reaction of civilians and inexperienced shinobi was just like danzo had expected majority showed fear with few showed hatred towards boy only veteran and experienced shinobi were neutral about it. Those who have lost their families by beasts hand even demanded execution of boy. Third hokage realizing his mistake was somewhat able to salvage the situation by creating law that no one can reveal boys identity as kyuubi jinchiruki to next generation.
this did very little to give boy a normal life as parents were able to keep their kids from interacting from by telling them he is a bad influence for them. and like any young kids they believed in their parents and kept their distance from him.
Alas, he can't blame them for fearing boy. any one who has witnessed beasts terrifying might would doubt how a little infant can contain it. his whisker mark only fuelled their fear and hatred. it is a good thing the boy didn't inherited his mother's, kushina Uzumaki, red hair or it would be impossible to prove that boy is not kyuubi incarnate.
he had requested to train the boy to control his tenants power. But hiruzen rejected his request and placed the boy in a orphanage.
That fool really thought that the boy can have a normal childhood. he refused to accept the fact that boy can't have a normal childhood not just because he is the jinchiruki of kyuubi but also because of his father's reputation. Minato namikaze the fourth hokage and konoha's hero of third shinobi. The man who slaughtered thousand of iwa shinobi with his technique the hirashin.
If you ask any one in iwa who they hate the most the reply would be instant minato namikaze and with such venomous tone that manda, the leader of snake summon, would give them a proud hiss.
He know the moment someone from iwa saw the boy they will easily figure out who boy's father is. The boy is practically carbon copy of his father except whisker marks (an: he is not tanned in this fic )
He know his friend know that too. But he still stubbornly thinks that the boy by hiding his true name he could protect. He could only sigh at his friends naivety. The only reason no one in Konoha has realized who boy's father is because most just ignore him and those who hate him can only see his whisker marks their so called proof of boy being kyuubi.
The really boy need to be strong if he want to live after his heritage is revealed to world.
He has been patient with his friends waiting for him to saw the reason. But that fool still refuse to take any action and If the reports of boy's questionable mental health is true then he had to take some action immediately or they will be facing a rampaging kyuubi jinchiruki
Danzo knew if He didn't to anything Konoha will be once again facing the wrath of strongest tailed beast

Konoha, shinobi academy, training ground
On the training ground of Konoha's shinobi academy we see a blonde haired boy wearing orange jumpsuit and pants trying and failing to hit the target with shuriken
Naruto Uzumaki is not having a good not only he had clean the walls of shop that he painted orange but he had suffer from a hour long lecture from his academy instructor iruka umino or iruka sensei as every student called him but not only that he was again beaten by that jerk sasuke in their taijutsu match and once again he rejected by his crush Sakura haruno when he asked her for a date rather harshly some might say.
He was snapped out of his inner monologue when he heard a voice say
"you are not throwing them in right way"
Naruto startled by voice mistakenly throwed the shuriken toward the direction of voice and felled face fist into the ground. When he regained his bearing he was greeted by sight of bandaged old man staring at him calmy with his shuriken right between man's fingers
"hey what the hell old man you almost scared" yelled Naruto
A swift strike of cane on his head was his answer
"ittai" yelped Naruto as he rubbed his head
"you should show some respect when talking to elders brat" said danzo
"I will talk to someone however I want you old greezer" yelled Naruto
Another strike of cane
"what have I told you about respecting your elders brat" said danzo
"hai" muttered a teary-eyed Naruto. While thinking how he will gonna make old man regret it when he will paint his whole house orange.
"and what do you mean by not throwing them at right angle" asked Naruto after pain his subdued
"your are throwing them straight when thrown shuriken their angle is curved from the angle they are thrown this reason this reason they are thrown at a curved angle (an: just some random bullshit)" said danzo as he throwed the shuriken it hit right at the dead centre
"just who are you old man and how are you able to throw it like that" asked Naruto
Another strike of cane
And Naruto was once again rubbing his head to ease the pain
" manners brat , it is common courtesy to give your name first before asking of someone else" told danzo
" my name is Naruto Uzumaki and I'am going to be future hokage believe it " said Naruto almost shouting the last part as he stopped rubbing his head as the pain subdued
" my name is danzo shimura and you would call me danzo sama brat" said danzo
" hai danzo sama" said Naruto respectfully not wanting to hit by cane again
" good, now brat try to throw the shuriken as i have shown you" said danzo
"hai" said Naruto as attempted to hit the target with shuriken
The shuriken barely hit the target
"again" ordered danzo
The result was same again

two hour later, evening
sound of blade embedding in wood was heard as the shuriken hit the target
"yatta" cheered Naruto as he saw the shuriken hit centre of the target
It was after hours of training he was able to hit the bullseye
Naruto's cheering was cut short when a cane hit his head
"don't get excited brat you were only able to hit a stationery target in real combat you've have to hit moving enemy which is lot harder than this"
"hai" said Naruto while muttering about old man with mean swing
"it is getting late brat go home and rest" said danzo as he started to walkaway
Naruto stared on danzo's figure until it completely disappeared
Exhausted and Seeing no reason to stay Naruto also left for his home

Naruto's apartment
After having few bowls of instant ramen, naruto fall asleep almost instantly from exhaustion of long tiring day and training
despite soreness of his arm Naruto slept with a smile on his face not because he was successful in hitting but because he found another person who won't ingnore him

after completing last of his paper danzo can be seen sitting crossed legged on floor while thinking about today's event
"seems like the boy got some talent from his parents " thought danzo, this was also another reason he trained the boy today, beside wanting to see if he is truly a threat to Konoha or not, the boy is son of a S-rank kunoichi and a SS-rank shinobi. If he possessed the same talent as his parents along with kyuubi's strength the boy had potential to rival and might even surpass the likes of madara Uchiha and hashirama senju. During the training he had seen it in boys eye when he thrown the shuriken the same calculating eyes his father possessed. But the years of mental trauma and his desire to gain villagers attention make him focus it things like pranks and other trivial things to gain their attention.
If danzo didn't the have iron grip on his emotions he would be swearing like sailor at hiruzen for damaging someone of such potential because of his foolishness because of him Konoha might lose a powerful shinobi.
Alas, nothing will change by dwelling in past. The boy is still young he can still salvage the situation and the Naruto Uzumaki namikaze would reach his true potential and prove that konoha is still strongest of great five Hidden-villages danzo would make sure of it.
End of the first chapter
An: I would clear out few things here in this fic danzo would not be evil power hungry war hawk but don't misunderstood that he will still commit inhuman act but this time it would truly in the name of Konoha not for his personal gain he truly would be darkness of Konoha also root anbu are not emotionless drones they just have really great control over their emotions and are truly loyal to danzo, he still had a sharigan underneath his bandage but it is given to him by kagami uchiha and he doesn't have hashirama cells though means no wood style and creepy arm but he still had his original hand. naruto's age is 11, he didn't failed failed exam at academy and he has been with rookie 12 from start of the beginning.
on uchiha massacre the mangekyou sharigan is just too powerful to have many users so. it happened but only those who know about the coup were killed means children who are in academy and younger (below 13) are spared with sasuke being the oldest among them
now on topic why kage can't do anything against daimyo. in this fic when five hidden villages were formed daimyos were feared that they would be usurp by them so they hired greatest seals master aka uzumaki clan(seriously they can make seals strong enough to bind even gods) to create special barrier seals that if a daimyo is murdered or die the barrier can be deactivated by their descendant with only exception being is the said descendant is under any form of manipulation or is under 15(age at which they become adult on their time) and placed those seals in the royal treasury and major economic points like mines etc. but there is twist in mechanism of seal if whole family of a daimyo is dead and non of his descendant are alive the authority of seal would fall into hands of their neighboring daimyos. means even if a kage kills the whole royal family they would just hand their own nation to others in silver platter. daimyos of that time excepted it because they would rather have their kingdom in hand of their ally\enemy than traitors. this seal is the main reason why kage still follow. only reason third raikage attempted coup because he found a illegitimate son of daimyo sired from a prostitute but daimyo found about it and killed him before raikage can complete his plan. these seals are also another reason why uzumaki clan was destroyed because raikage, mizukage and tsuikage thought they found a way to break the seal but they come empty handed
