When a rear plant was stolen Robin got suspicious and went to investigate the crime scene, only to get his suspicious confirmed. It is up to the Titans to get the criminals back where they belong.
Part three in the series.
Plants and Jesters
"Hey Raven, we're going to the mall, you're coming with us?"
"No."
"Aw, c'mon, it's going to be fun! First we're going to the arcade, then we're getting pizza and then we're hitting the dance floor!"
"Not interested."
"C'mon Raven, Cyborg and Starfire are coming too, why can't you?"
Raven gaze went from her book to Beast Boy. "Arcade and dancing, I don't do that kind of pointless waste of time. You should know it by now."
"Fine, be gloomy and all. I bet that Robin wants to come with us."
Raven's gaze went back to her book. "You only have to turn around and ask him."
"Ask me what?" Robin asked after entering the room.
Beast Boy yelped as he nearly hit the ceiling. "Dude, don't be sneaky! You almost give me a heart attack!"
"What do you want?"
"We're going to the mall, having fun. You're coming with us?"
Robin went to the kitchen. "Sorry, I've work to do. You should go without me."
Raven noticed a serious tone in Robin's voice which means trouble, but it got unnoticed by Beast Boy. "Dude, you're too serious. Even you need some time off."
Robin was making some coffee. "Maybe next time."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'll tell the others that gloomy and serious are too busy to make some fun." Beast Boy left the room.
Raven closed her book and went for the kitchen where Robin just finished with his coffee. "You're troubled. Something is wrong."
Robin picked his mug and started pouring coffee in it. "Did you watch the news?"
"No."
"There was a robbery in the Jump City Botanic Gardens, a rear plant was stolen. Not that isn't something out of the ordinary, but an eyewitness said that some read headed woman dressed in green was the robber while another one got knocked down by a person in a black and red jester suit."
"So?"
Robin turned around with a steaming cup in his hands and leaned against the counter as he let out a sigh. "If we were in Gotham, I would say who's behind it. We can only hope that these two just dressed in Halloween costumes. Otherwise, we're in big trouble."
"You want to reveal me our possible opponents?"
Robin took a sip of his coffee "It's too early to tell. I need some proof before I can be sure."
"If I was you, I won't stay here and wait. Proof that you need won't fly into the Tower and land on your lap by its own."
"I know, but I need some coffee, had a long night. Then I'll go looking for evidence."
Robin carefully looked around him, using his sharp eyes to see anything that seems to be out of place in the greenhouse of the Jump City Botanic Gardens. At first glans it seems like that the police had collected all evidence they could find, but knowing his potential villains, he kept looking around. It took a while when he spotted a piece of vine on the floor. That small vine could belong to the greenhouse's plant life, and those who were not very known within the variety of plant life would shrug it off and ignored it. To him however, it looked too familiar. He grabbed a bird-a-rang as he carefully approached the vine. Once he was within reach, he kneeled and poked it with his weapon. When nothing happened, he grabbed a bag, folded it around the vine and carefully pulled it inside before sealing off the bag. Content, he gazed at the containment of the bag before turning around, heading for the exit.
"It's still alive," Raven said in amaze while holding her hand above the vine.
Robin shook his head. "Just as I thought. I instantly recognized it, that's why I brought it here to be sure and show you one of their tools. This vine is just one of many they have."
"And they are . . .?"
Before Robin could answer, the rest of the Titans burst through the door. "We came as fast as we could," Cyborg said.
"Dude, we're having fun till you guys called, so you better have something important for us," Beast Boy complained.
Starfire noticed a strange green object on the table. She flew towards it and gazed at it with curiosity. "Friend Robin, can you explain me what this plantlike creature is?" She reached out to pick up the vine but Robin grabbed her hand.
"Don't touch it! It's more than it looks like."
Cyborg and Beast Boy exchanged looks before joining the others and took a better look at the vine. Beast Boy cocked his head. "What's so dangerous about that? It's just a piece of plant."
Cyborg opened scanner on his left arm, scanning the vine. "I can't find any information of the vine but according to my scanners, it's genetic manipulated."
"I know, that's why you're here. There's a robbery in the botanic garden, a rear plant was stolen."
"Yeah, I saw that on the news. According to the owner they stole a Kokia Cookei," Cyborg said.
Robin nodded. "One employee said that a read headed woman dressed in green was the robber and another one got knocked out by figure in a black and red jester suite."
"You know who they are?" Beast Boy asked.
Robin glared down at the vine. "Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. Together, they're known as Gotham's Queens of Crime."
Beast Boy's eyes widened. "Gotham? You mean Gotham City? Why would they cross the whole country to steal a plant?"
"There're only few left of it and it's the only specimen outside of Hawaii. I think that Ivy wants to multiply it and use it to make deathly poisons."
"So, what are we going to do now?" Raven asked.
"We need to find out where they could be. Knowing Ivy, she would use a greenhouse to storage her plants she had stolen to multiply and manipulate it. We can check all greenhouses across the city, but that will take months before we find their hideout. And even if we find it, they're probably back in Gotham City."
"That doesn't sound good. Where do you want to start?" Cyborg asked.
"At first I want you to know that Poison Ivy is very dangerous. Not only she use vines and other plants as weapons but she is poisonous. Her lips, breath and perhaps even her skin since she had become paler since the last time I've met her."
"Poisonous? How's that possible?" Cyborg asked.
"Genetic manipulation. She was used as student on a university and things went wrong. She hates man ever since, but she manipulated her genes even more to have better connections with plant life. She uses her charm to seduce man and have them under total control after a single kiss, if she wants them alive."
The rest of the team nervously glanced each other as Robin continued. "Harley Quinn is like a jester and a bit crazy but she's still a force to be reckon with. She is athletic, know her moves and carry an arsenal of various weapons like an oversized mallet, a pop gun, man sized Chinese finger traps and exploding marbles."
Beast Boy grinned in amusement. "Toys? She use toys as weapons? That doesn't sound dangerous."
"Don't underestimate her Beast Boy, she's crazy but she isn't stupid. Besides, she may carry a gun and have a pretty good shot. And when I say gun, I mean a real one."
That statement brought the rest to high alert, especially Cyborg and Beast Boy. "A gun? Like those in these crime movies? How can we fight against that?" Beast Boy fearfully asked.
"Leave it to me," Robin said before he went on. "Once we find their hideout, we have to expect that it's well protect by Ivy's plants. I don't expect that Quinn would bring her two hyenas with them but with her, you'll never know."
Robin did not wait for any questions since time was essential and start making orders. "Cyborg, you are making a list of all abandoned botanic gardens and greenhouses in and outside the city. I also need to know if there're any toxic wastelands nearby, it won't be the first time that they're hiding in such deathly environment. Ivy's immune to toxics and poisons and she made Harley immune to it as well, including herself.
"The rest of you go to check these locations one by one to look for these criminals. Before you go, I'll handle you the pictures of them, then I'll coordinate you through Cyborg's list. If you find them don't take any action but retreat a couple of blocks and call us right away. Only together we can take them down."
Robin turned to Cyborg. "Cyborg, you start looking for these places." Once Cyborg went to the main computer Robin turned to the others. "I'll go to my room and make contact with Gotham, just in case they've already left the city. I don't want us spending weeks looking for them for nothing. Once I come back, I'll give you the pictures of them." With that Robin left the room.
Beast boy started panicking. "Guns! You guys hear that?! They have guns! How can we even stop that!"
Cyborg shrugged while surging for abandoned greenhouses. "I don't know, but you heard Robin, he'll take care of it."
Before Beast Boy could reply Starfire placed a hand on his shoulder. "I may not be familiar with this kind of weaponry but I do understand the potential of our threat. If Robin knows how to neutralize it then we must trust him by doing it."
"Oh yeah?! And how's he going doing that?! Walking into a hail of bullets and take the gun from them like Superman do it on a daily basis?! He's getting himself killed!"
Raven was getting annoyed by Beast Boy. "We all know that he is smarter than that. Now you stop complaining or I'll show you how he'll do it and leave you a broken wrist."
"Hey! You won't do that!" Then he pulled back when noticing Raven's hardened glare. "Do you?"
"Robin will use a bird-a-rang to knock their weapons out of their grasp. I can tell you that it's not only effective but also painful."
Cyborg turned to Raven. "You saw that back in Gotham City?"
"Yes."
Robin activated his laptop and start to make a video call. In seconds the call was answered. "Batman here."
"Batman, this is Robin. I've news. Last night Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn have stolen a rear plant from the Jump City Botanic Gardens."
Batman's glare slightly intensified. "I was wondering where they have been. Any success by finding them?"
"We've just started. It took a me while to have the evidence that these two were behind it and not some common thieves in Halloween costumes."
"I Understand. Now what do you expect me to do with it?"
"Only to keep an eye on their hideouts and let me know if they're back in Gotham. They may have a place in Jump City but I can't leave out the possibility that they're already on their way back. I don't want to waste too much time in our search."
"Good thinking. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know when they returned."
"I also want the most resent photos of them. The rest of the team may have seen some pictures of them but I need to be sure that they are going after the right persons."
"Hold on, I'll send their files now."
Robin noticed that several files went in. "Thanks Batman, that's all I'm asking."
"You let me know when you have them."
"I will."
"Good hunt."
Batman cut the call and after a few moments of thinking Robin printed out six files, three of each criminal. He took a good look at the two photos on each file and left the room.
A green sparrow that was Beast Boy flew to his ninth location and started to realize that this mission was going to take longer than he had hoped. He rather stayed in the mall and having fun with his teammates, but he knew that things had to be done to keep the people safe. It was not just his duty, he felt responsibility for the safety of the people. The nice thing was having more attention and appreciation from them, especially the girls.
He arrived at his location, on the edge of a forest was a house with a medium sized greenhouse in the backyard, both of which were a bit in disrepair and the greenhouse was covered by all kind of vines. He landed on top of the greenhouse and looked through the glass panels to see if there was someone inside.
No one was inside but he saw the strangest plants he had ever seen. Vines and huge leaved plants of all shapes and sizes grew everywhere. Some plants were small with big orange flowers while other plants were larger with smaller flowers of various colors. One plant was nothing more than a man size double leave on a thick stem which looked like an oversized flytrap to him. In the center of the greenhouse was a table. On top of it was a potted plant with several weird looking red flowers.
Beast Boy suddenly noticed a vine crawling at his direction. Realizing that vines should not move at all he freaked out, took off and went to a nearby tree. 'Dude, moving plants trying to eat me? That's the weirdest thing I've ever seen.'
He then saw some movement through a window of the house, a blond woman with pigtails on a balance beam. His eyes were fixed on the young woman who wore nothing more than a white tank top and white short pants and did her gymnastics performances with perfection.
Then a red headed woman who was green from top to toe came into his view, holding two glasses. That woman offered the blond one a glass who sat cross-legged on the beam who took it. They seemed to share some words before clinching the glassed and start drinking from it.
Beast Boy shook his head and wondered if that green woman was the one they were looking for. He gazed around to look for any threats and flew to the window. Once he landed he could hear the conversation taking place inside.
"-more plants? Why not?"
"One thing at the time Harl, we don't want to rush into things and getting too much attention right now. If we want to settle here for a while, we need to know more about this so-called Titans."
The blond one seems to think about it. Then she hopped off the beam. "Yer right at that one, but how we're gonna do it? Hit the town and hoping we'll just walkin' into them and ask them some questions 'bout them? That won't work."
"No, but that's a matter for another time. Let's make us more comfortable for the time being."
Beast Boy took a better look at the red headed woman who had a pale green skin and wearing nothing more than a dark green skirt. He recognized her from the picture that Robin gave her. With that information he took off and went from the edge of the forest into the suburbs. Once there he changed in his human form and opened his communicator. "Robin, this is Beast Boy."
"Robin here, did you find something?"
"I think so. I was on the location you sent me to and got almost eaten by plants. Then I saw a blond girl talking to a red one with pale green skin. I guess they were talking about no more plants and not rushing into things so they won't get too much attention. They also want to know more about us before staying here for a while and being more comfortable for the time being."
Robin had a funny look on the screen. "Being more comfortable? I start to wonder how close these two really are."
Beast Boy's had a puzzled look on his face. "Huh?"
Robin shook his head. "Never mind. Are you sure you found them?"
"Definitely. You can't miss the green lady. The blond one, I'm not sure. She was on a beam doing some practice of sort. They were talking about having no more plants for now till they know us better."
"So, they basically want to keep a low profile before they know more about us, huh?" Then a grin appeared on robin's face. "We can arrange that, sooner than they're expecting. Beast Boy, stay where you are and wait till we're at your location. Robin out."
Beast Boy was in thoughts about what Robin meant in how close these two really were.
Robin and Cyborg were the last members who arrived at Beast Boy's location, which were a few blocks from Harley's and Ivy's hideout. "Raven, what did you see up there?"
Raven was ordered to scout ahead by flying over the place to see if there was a safe route to approach the hideout without being discovering. "The place is practically surrounded by all kinds of bushes and the forest on the far side. The greenhouse is behind the house, covered by vines. Both the front and backyard are covered by grass and all kind of weed but it's big enough for a fight when things are getting out of hand."
"Any chance we'll get in undetected?"
"I think so. The bushes would provide us cover. It's only a short run to the front door."
Robin nodded. "Alright, let's go."
They walked down the street till they reached the hideout. Robin ordered his teammates to stay low as they moved alongside the bushes. They stopped at the only opening through the bushes which leads to the front door. Robin raised his right hand, ready to give the order to move in as he and the rest of the team felt something wrapping around their ankles.
They all looked down and saw to their shock and horror that vines were grabbing their ankles. Beast Boy was the first who panicked as he tried to pull himself free. "Dude, these are the same plants who tried to eat me!"
"We've been compromised!" Robin called as he mentally cursed himself by falling into this trap. He grabbed a bird-a-rang to cut himself free from the vines.
Raven and Starfire used their powers to free themselves while Cyborg placed a well-aimed shot at his threat nearby his feet. "Man, I've seen lots of crazy stuff but this just freaks me out."
Raven used her powers to free Beast Boy but seconds later more vines appeared from the bushes. "Titans, retreat, now!" Robin ordered who got caught by vines once again. Beast Boy turned into a hawk and went down the street with Raven and Starfire on his tail.
Cyborg had freed himself with his sonic cannon and took a few steps from the threat before turning back to Robin who was strangled with the vines. "How 'bout you? We just can't leave you behind."
"They know me. Stay out of sight and wait for my order to attack. Now go!"
Cyborg nodded and run down the street, heading for the others.
"Where is Robin?" Starfire asked when Cyborg met the others.
"He told me to leave him and get us ready to attack when he gives the order. I think he want us to come up with a plan while he distracts them."
"But how're we going to do it? The green one's poisonous, remember?" Beast Boy stated.
Raven was in thought for a moment. "Maybe for man, but we don't know if it's the same for females. I think it's for the best that Star and I can go after her while you take the other one."
Cyborg nodded. "Alright, let's do it."
Poison Ivy had felt the incoming threads through her vines and ordered Harley to suite up. The harlequin took only three minutes to prepare herself and joined her friend to meet the end of the world. "Alright Red, let's see that poor guy who's so desperate to see us."
Ivy run her lipstick across her lips. "Perhaps we can use him for greater deeds, like finding the Titans. What do you think?"
A sly grin appeared on her face as she checked the continence of her bag. "That can make things a lot easier."
Ivy handled Harley the lipstick. "Here, it might come in handy. You'll never know who's waiting outside."
"Gee, thanks Red." Harley carefully runs the lipstick across her lips before giving it back to Ivy. A million thoughts went through her mind of what she could do with her new weapon at her disposal as an evil toothy grin went across her face.
Ivy could not help but adore Harley's grin. "Shall we?"
Harley went to the front door followed by Ivy. She opened the door and both of them went outside to meet their intruder.
"Hey Red, it's Bird Boy!"
Robin struggled with the vines when it brought him to Ivy. "Hello Robin, it's been a long time."
"Not long enough."
"Aw, no need to hurt our feelings my darling. Maybe a little kiss will change your mind, what do you think?"
"Not interested."
Ivy's grin went wider as she leaned a bit forward. "I beg to differ."
"Not even from me?" Harley innocently asked.
"No."
Harley stood firm with her arms folded as she looked away with a pout on her face. "Little mean birdy."
"Indeed, but we can change that," Ivy grinned.
"I don't think so." Robin turned his head around. "Titans, go!"
Raven and Starfire flew to Ivy while a green wolf followed by Cyborg went for Harley. Ivy dropped some seed on the grass and vines appeared into the sky and grab the incoming girls by their ankles and legs. They both used their powers to release themselves but the vines kept coming in a speed and numbers they never thought it was possible.
Harley threw a handful of marbles on ground right in the path of the green wolf which was already too close to her comfort. The marbles exploded right beneath Beast Boy's body and he flew straight into the air while Cyborg was forced to step back.
Beast Boy was still in midair and turned into an eagle just before he hit the ground. In the air he thought it was safe enough to fight the crazy jester to he dived to her to get her attention while Cyborg got around her.
The green eagle suddenly turned into a green gorilla in front of Harley while Cyborg approached her from behind. "Hey! First a wolf, then some bird and now a big monkey?" Then she started smiling. "Hey, can you turn into some big kitten or somethin'?"
That question took both friends of guard. "What? Why you're asking that?" Cyborg asked, not believing what he was hearing.
Harley turned to him as she innocently shrugged. "Whatcha mean? He's like a one-man zoo."
The gorilla shrugged and turned into a lion much to Harley's excitement as she bounced on her feet. "He is a walkin' zoo!" Then her grin went wider. "Well, looks like I've found a new chew toy for my BABIES ! ! !"
Two hyenas burst through the windows and attacked Beast Boy who was completely taken by surprise. Cyborg too was totally surprised by the sudden appearance of the African predators. He tried to aim his sonic cannon at the hyenas but he could not find an opening while they were fighting Beast Boy. It left him no other choice than to get them away from his friend with his hands.
He was about to do that when a voice caught his attention. "Hey iron head, heads up!"
He just saw Harley throwing something at him and once it hit him, he was all wrapped up with garlands from shoulders to ankles. "Huh? Is this some kind of joke?"
Harley raced to him with her oversized mallet. "One way to find out baldy!"
She placed a powerful hit on his head and he felled on the ground. Then she hit him two more times when a bird-a-rang slices the handle in two. "Huh?" Harley turned to gazed at Robin with a questioned hook on her face. "How d'ya gettin' loose?"
Holding his bo staff Robin prepared for a fight with the jester and made his move. As he leaped forward she grabbed a pop gun with a boxing glove attached on it and took aim. Robin was already in midair and because of the very short distance he could not react on time when the glove hit him in his head.
Harley cartwheeled to a dizzy Robin and give him a few kicks but then he grabbed her foot with both hands and twisted it, making her fall. He went on his feet and grabbed her by the collar. "Gee Robin, whatcha gonna do? Kick me around and safe your friends? You can't do both at once."
Robin took a quick glans at the green lion who was still fighting the hyenas and Cyborg struggling with the garlands before glaring at her. "This isn't over yet Harley." He placed a powerful punch on her jaw and left her on the grass to help his friends. "Hold on Beast Boy, we're coming."
Robin went to Cyborg first and used a bird-a-rang to cut him loose. Then they went to the hyenas. Cyborg grabbed the collar of one of them and toss the animal away from Beast Boy. He immediately regretted it, after he did that the hyena focused its attention on the half machine and leaped to him. Despite having metal arms, the animal was strong enough to jerk his arm back and forth while he blocked his face.
With having more room to focus Beast Boy tossed the remaining hyena away from him and Robin used his bo staff to keep the predator at bay. With the three boys occupied by the hyenas Harley went to Ivy to see how she was doing.
Ivy still used her vines, trying to get a hold of the flying girls and she just grabbed extra seeds to sprayed into the air. Raven raised a shield to protect her from it while Starfire used her starbolts to destroy the seeds. Unfortunately for her these seeds released poisonous gasses, leaving her no other choices than fly further away from the villain.
Once Harley arrived she saw both girls flying in the air for the first time. "Hey! They can fly too!" She then grabbed a revolver out of her bag. Robin, Cyborg and Beast Boy who already took down the hyenas took cover when they had the first glance of the weapon. "I guess it's bird season."
Harley started shooting at Starfire but missed three times while the alien flew all over the place. "Stop jumping 'round and hold still!" Starfire kept fling around till she was behind Raven. A grin appeared on Harley's face. "Now we're talkin'." She raised her gun.
A bird-a-rang collided with her weapon, knocking it out of her grasp. "Hey!"
While Harley holds her sore hand Ivy took her moment to catch Raven and Starfire with her vines. "Thank you for getting them your attention Harl."
Harley had already recovered from the shock and readied herself for further action against the crime fighters. "Sure thing Red," she grinned as she covered Ivy's back.
Ivy went to the girls to add more power in the vines with Harley in her footstep. Raven and Starfire were seriously trapped, especially Raven since she could barely breath.
A plan formed in Robin's mind. "I've a plan, Cyborg you get the vines down, Beast Boy turn into something big and scary and go after Harley, wait for my signal."
He grabbed an exploding disc and throw is at the base of the vines. An explosion knocked the villains away and the vines were heavenly damaged. Robin ignored a screaming Poison Ivy as he jumped into action. "Go!"
Cyborg used his sonic canon to weaken the vines even more, allowing Starfire to rip it apart. She caught Raven in midair who had almost passed out and went to a safer place.
Beast Boy turned into a Tyrannosaurus Rex and went to Harley who was recovering and went to Ivy who just stopped screaming. When Harley felt the earth shook a few times she saw an enormous beast heading for them. Harley instantly grabbed Ivy as she creamed out in terror. Ivy was puzzled at Harley's behavior and looked up. She saw the source right above them and after a loud roar from the dinosaur she followed Harley's example.
With these two holding each other for dear life Robin took this unique opportunity to throw a bola at them which wrapped itself around the villains. Then the rest of the Titans surrounded them. "It's over ladies, you're going back to Arkham."
Harley let out a sigh. "Home sweet home huh? Swell."
Even Ivy had no choice but accepting their defeat. "You can say that Harl."
Once returned at the Tower Robin made a video call which was answered in seconds. "Batman here."
"Batman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are captured and imprison in Jump City police headquarter."
"Good work. I'll inform Commission Gordon, it's safer to bring them back to Arkham."
"That's what I told the police. Especially with Poison Ivy. I don't wanna risk anything so I told them that only female officers should be near her and only with protecting suits and mask."
"Good call. I'll be waiting for their arrival at the airport in a couple of days."
"There's something else we need to take care, Harley's hyenas. They're both here."
It was silence for a moment. "We could leave them at the zoo in Jump City, but I think it's for the best to put them into transport to a more familiar environment in Gotham."
"You think so? They will be close to Harley."
"You always have hope that Harley will be sane one day. She was very close once and that's enough for me. When she's declared sane, she can have her pets back. Having a completely new life, it would be unfair to take that away from her."
Robin thought about that for a moment. "I guess you're right. I let the animal shelter know that they need to be transported to Gotham."
"Don't bother, I'll take care of it. Batman out." With that Batman broke the connection.
"Just like that huh?" Then a smile appeared on Robin's face. "I should've known." He then left his room.
Robin went inside the common room. "I've contacted Gotham City. Within days both criminals are going back to Arkham where they belong."
"The sooner the better. I have no desire to go after them once they manage to escape," Raven said.
"Neither do I," Robin said.
"Yeah, and those hyenas really put on a fight. I can still feel their teeth all over me," Beast Boy complained as he rubbed his left arm and shoulder.
"They are going to Gotham Zoo. Away from here," Robin said.
Beast Boy let out a sigh of relieve. "Thanks." He then starts thinking for a moment. "Robin, what kind of place is this Arkham?"
Raven answered before Robin could. "It's a madhouse for criminals who are mentally unstable."
Starfire cocked her head. "A mad house?"
"An asylum for insane criminals." Robin answered. "It's a mental hospital, but for criminals."
"If you look at all the craziness we're facing here, we can use one too," Cyborg said.
"Maybe..." Robin was in thought for a moment. "Anyway, I'm glad it's over."
Beast Boy put his hands in the air in excitement. "Alright! Let's go to the mall! We're going to the arcade, then getting pizza and then we're hitting the dance floor!"
Starfire jumped in the air. "Yes. We need to resume our activities in the mall before we were interrupted by the criminals from the City of Gotham."
"Boo-yah! Now we're talking!"
Robin smiled at the excitement of his team members. Yet he shook his head. "You go ahead. I'll stay here, keeping an eye on the city."
"Second," Raven said.
"You sure?" Cyborg asked.
Robin had a small smile on his face. "Yes. You guys go and have some fun."
A grin went across Cyborg's face. "Alright, but next time we'll drag ya with us."
Raven give him a look. "Doubtful."
Robin turned his head from Cyborg to Raven and back again before shrugging. "We'll see," he grinned.
Cyborg led Beast Boy and Starfire to the door. "See ya 'round," he called back. With that they left the room.
Robin's face dropped as he stared at the door for a few minutes before Raven's voice brought him back to the presence. "Something wrong?"
"Not really, but I'll be more at ease when these two are back at Arkham."
"I can image, they're not the criminals we're usually facing. Even the jester is more dangerous than Mumbo Jumbo or Doctor Light for example, she doesn't hesitate to kill."
"Most criminals in Gotham don't. It's because of them that Batman and I exist."
"And what's Batgirl's motivation?"
"Her father was framed by a corrupt commissioner and a criminal for accepting bribes from a crime lord. Batman and I went on that case but it wasn't enough for her so she took matters in her own hands and become Batgirl while looking for evidence to prove his innocence."
"That explains. I take that she succeeds."
"With the help of us. She was a rookie and made some mistakes but she went better when time goes by."
"Not surprising with Batman nearby. Even I've learned a thing or two from him back then."
A grin appeared on Robin's face. "Like what, interrogation? Moving into the shadows as being part of it? That will totally suit you."
Raven returned the grin. "You know me too well Boy Wonder."
Robin's grin went wider. "I'm learning."
"What a surprise."
