Secret Note Chapter 1 - Meeting a Squad Pt. 1

Author's Note: *DISCLAIMER* This fanfic is connected to my Loud House fanfic, The Love Note, meaning that these two cartoons are connected together in my story universe. If you think that this will just be a forced mish-mash of these two shows, then I'm afraid you'll be mistaken. These two stories will line up exactly with one another in terms of timeline, meaning that the start of both these stories will start and continue to take place in the same time and days as the Love Note (EXAMPLE: Love Note starts on a Sunday, and this first chapter takes place on the same Sunday). As the timeline for this story reaches the same point as Love Note, the connection between both stories will make sense. Though I can't tell you every way both these stories will connect right now (because you'll find that out later), I will show you one way in this chapter.

Let me explain: The OC's that will be discussed/appear/cameo in this chapter and the next are the Youtuber InquisitorMaster's Squad. This makes sense, as the Squad also happens to be prominent characters in The Love Note. You can search them up on Youtube if you really are curious as to what the Squad is normally like, as I have mostly kept the Squad and their overall character's the same with only two changes. First, their ages, which is around the P&F Gang's and Lincoln Loud's age (yes, they are all in the same grade). Second, the Squad includes my own OC (based of me), Brad.

In case you did research (or even really care), the Squad members you'll see in this chapter are Alex, Zach, Drake, Charli, Light, Sora, and Brad.

Trust me, our gang here will have their own shenanigans done, meaning this will still be a normal Phineas and Ferb fanfic. It won't seem like it at first, but we'll get to it.

No POV:

"Any idea for what we should do today, Ferb?"

"Honestly no clue," Ferb replied.

Phineas' POV:

That was an answer that I really hate-no, disliked hearing. 'Hate' is just such a strong word and one I don't like using. Anyway, I'm only feeling this way since we don't have the same amount of time on our hands like this past summer. It's now the school year...our 6th grade year in fact.

Wow...that's still really hard to admit. The change was real, from having all the free time to do our usual projects has now become time at school. It's not completely changed, as we still do projects on the weekends. Heck, even Ferb's changed since he's made it a mission to start speaking more! I'm not saying that's bad, but it surely is different...I'm even taller than Isabella now! Well, it is only by an inch, but that really just shows how much everything is changing.

No POV:

"Well, we have to come up with an idea soon!" Phineas exclaimed. Instead of responding verbally, Ferb stuck to his norm of nodding in agreement. The latter looked away, now getting into his own thoughts.

Ferb's POV:

I really need to break that habit of not talking now; at least it hasn't been affecting school so far...

No POV:

"I'm sure we'll come up with something," Ferb spoke.

"I'm not doubting that; I mean, we always do!" Phineas echoed. "It's just-" the redhead tried to say, before being interrupted by the loud interruption in the arrival of Baljeet and Buford. Both Phineas and Ferb noticed Baljeet's phone was playing some sort of video on it.

"No, Buford. Drake doesn't cheat; he's just really good at the game and is smart." Baljeet argued.

"Nuh uh! He is nothing but a sly cheater, and you must be too!" The bully argued back.

"I am not a-"

Not noticing that they were now very close to our iconic duo, Phineas had to interrupt the arguing between Buford and Baljeet.

"Can someone fill Ferb and I in on what you two are arguing about?" Phineas asked, slightly confused.

At this point, both Buford and Baljeet had stopped their bickering to look at their friend. Instead of answering, Buford had instead started to sweat and scratched the back of his neck. He looked to Baljeet, hoping that his nerd would explain for the two of them. Baljeet, however, was a lot more awkward and embarrassed about the whole situation. If he hadn't just walked into Phineas and Ferb's yard unknowingly while arguing with Buford, then he probably would've been able to explain better. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out somehow. Both looked at Phineas, who was still very confused, as anyone would be.

"Well?" The confused redhead asked.

"An explanation would be quite fitting for this situation," Ferb added in. Buford seemed to zone out a bit, before quickly snapping out of it to speak.

"Jeez, I forgot that Ferb's starting to talk now."

"Buford!" Baljeet replied, worried that his bully might've offended Ferb. The latter noticed this and quickly shook his head, followed by a shrug and thumbs up. He smiled as well, indicating there was no harm done.

"My bad. Well we were just-" Buford tried to explain, before getting interrupted by the gate opening once again.

"Hey Phineas! What'cha doin'?" A very familiar voice said, which was quickly revealed as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro.

Isabella POV:

I came into Phineas and Ferb's yard, and noticed that nobody was doing anything! That's weird, they usually have something at least planned out by then...it's just so weird.

I looked at my friends and tried to figure out what was going on. Phineas looked really confused, and cute. Well, that's because he always looks cute...that's not the point Isabella!

Ferb just looks just as confused as Phin, but showing it in more of his "Ferb-way." His eyebrow is raised, and his eyes are the obvious sign. But that's Ferb for you, always showing his feelings through body language!

Phineas' POV:

Well, it looks like Isabella's here. It's not that I'm not excited to see my best friend here, it's just that this is just a really awkward situation right now. We don't even have any sort of plan for what we're doing today, and we're instead trying to get Baljeet or Buford to tell us what they're arguing about! Alright, calm down, Phineas!

Izzy coming here really does make things feel lighter now, to be honest. I don't know, it always just seems that she does that for me. I mean, she's just so perfect and her arrival always brightens my day...wait what did I just say?

I shook my head, trying to clear that awkwardness out of my head. I knew that someone had to crack the ice, so I did.

"Well, Ferb and I are trying to figure out what Buford and Baljeet are arguing about." I explained.

Isabella POV:

That's what this is about? Well, Baljeet and Buford always seem to argue, so that makes sense. The weird thing is that today's argument hasn't been exposed yet, at least to Phineas and Ferb. They always seem to figure things out right away...I mean, they are two really smart step-brothers! There has to be more to this, there has to!

"That doesn't make sense, wouldn't you two have figured this out yet?" I asked. It sounded a little rude, but it was a real question that needed to be asked. Nothing's been started here in this backyard, and that's really out of character. I might even need to pull out some of the Fireside in me to help solve this...

No POV:

"We would have figured it out already, but those two haven't told us anything." Ferb said, pointing at Buford and Baljeet. Both now nervously looked at Isabella, who was confused about this.

"Yeah, the only thing I could really remember them saying is something about a Drake guy." Phineas added, pointing a finger up as he fully remembered hearing that name be mentioned by the nerd and bully.

Baljeet's nervousness seemed to go away after the mention of that name, as he looked to finally be able to explain both he and Buford's actions.

"Oh, Drake's just one of eleven amazing Squad members from InquisitorMaster's YouTube videos!" The nerd explained. It also looked like Buford had the same recovery, as he cut into what Baljeet was saying.

"No, he's the worst member since he's just a cheater!" The bully argued.

"He is not!"

"Who now?" Phineas asked, even more confused.

"Oh, I know who you're talking about!" Isabella exclaimed. Everyone looked at the girl, confused.

"You do?" Baljeet asked.

"Who is InquisitorMaster?" Phineas added.

"Yeah! I watch their channel on YouTube, so I know everything about the Squad." Isabella explained.

"I am still quite confused," Ferb said honestly.

"I'm sure you guys know about YouTube, so I won't even explain that," Baljeet said. He paused, and proceeded to continue his explanation. "InquisitorMaster is a gaming YouTuber. Alex, which is her real name, also features and leads her group of friends that are known as the Squad!"

Phineas and Ferb both simply nod in understanding after being told this. Buford and Isabella look at each other and give looks of respect, knowing the other already knows this information.

"Now, as for these members-"

"I'll take it from here," Isabella interrupted.

"Hey!" Baljeet shouted at the girl. This caused Isabella to send an intimidating face back at the Indian boy, showing him that she wanted to explain over him and basically making him back off (which he did reluctantly, out of fear). The brothers in the group stayed quiet to both let Isabella continue and avoid any more conflict, whilst Buford laughed at the whole ordeal. The bully's laugh ended pretty quickly, allowing Isabella to continue the explanation.

"Obviously Alex is the leader of the Squad, who is normally kind and looks out for her Squad members. Then there's Zach, Alex's boyfriend. He tends to be loud and sometimes rude. Zach has a twin named Drake, who's quieter than Zach and is quite smart-"

"-Who also cheats at games!" Buford interrupts.

"He does not!" Baljeet argues. Phineas and Ferb once again just sit there in silent shock due to the same argument starting again. Not this again, the brothers thought simultaneously.

"He actually doesn't cheat, he's just really smart and good at them. Besides, Drakes too pure to cheat…" Isabella explained with a smile.

Phineas' POV:

Okay, so the Squad sounds like a pretty cool group of friends so far! They even kinda sound like the group we have here at home! But 11 members? That's a large group of friends to all hang out like that…like I don't really see me and Ferb hanging out with many more people than the group of friends we have right now. I mean, we might, since there's still plenty of time for us to make friends!

So far, Izzy's told us about Alex, Zach, and Drake. I'm glad that Alex sounds like a good person, because I'm not sure if I'd be okay with my friends watching someone with bad influence. Zach sounds…interesting to say the least. I'm not sure if I'll really like him, but I'm optimistic about this Zach character…

But what was up with Drake's explanation? He does sound like a good guy, but it kind of seems like Izzy really knows him. Maybe I'm just overthinking this, since he is a YouTuber who shows a good amount of himself to the public. I'm just trying to look after my best friend, right? I know she can like whatever she wants, but I just have this uneasy feeling about it. Maybe I should just stop thinking about this and just forget it…

Ferb's POV:

I looked over to my brother Phineas and saw him…thinking. Chances are he's thinking about the Squad members we were just told about, which is understandable. I'm quite concerned as to why Isabella added the "normally" to her explanation on Alex, but then again even the nicest people have their own faults…

Zach sounds like quite the character, seeming pretty similar to a certain bully *cough-cough* Buford. So if Zach's similar to Drake, then is Baljeet like Drake? Well, it seems like it; minus the part where Buford and Baljeet are twin brothers. Plus, I'm not sure they'd call their relationship "brotherly." That could maybe develop, but who knows.

Drake seems to be the most normal of the Squad so far, but there probably is more to him than we know of yet…

No POV:

"Are you kidding me?" Buford asks, making a face that was clear that he was not done. "I get Drake isn't a bad guy, but he definitely isn't innocent!"

"Sorry Isabella, but I'm going to have to agree with Buford here," Baljeet admits.

"Thank you, nerd!" Buford says, giving Baljeet what looked like both a hug and noogie simultaneously. The bully soon let his nerd go, as the latter gave a signal that he wanted to speak (a squeal).

"I will say that if any Squad member was innocent, I'd have to be Charli."

"Ok, ok. I may have over-exaggerated with Drake's innocence, but he is a pretty good guy." Isabella admitted. "But it is most certainly Charli."

"Charli?" A confused Phineas asked.

"She's the simp of the Squad!" Buford exclaimed.

"No she isn't!" Isabella argued. "She just has an obvious crush on Light!"

Isabella POV:

I honestly don't like it when Charli is called a simp by the Squad, or when they kind of bully her. It's just one of the bad things about the Squad, even if they are joking. At least Zach confirmed that they are truly joking and they treat her better now. Plus, the way Charli sees Light is kind of like how I see Phineas *sighs out of love* . If Charli's a simp, wouldn't that make me one? I mean, I'm not…right?

No POV:

"Excuse me? But what is a simp exactly?" Ferb asked, actually with some sort of sass behind it.

"I'd like to know as well!" Phineas says, eager to find out.

"Well, let's just say it's kind of like having a crush on someone-" Buford started, before being interrupted.

"-but you do anything for that person you have a crush on, even if they don't deserve it or they don't like you back." Isabella added, saying it with a lower energy than normal (I wonder why…).

Phineas nodded out of understanding, while Ferb smirked. 'Don't think I didn't notice that tone change, Isabella.' Ferb thought. 'I'm sure he'll realize his feelings soon enough…'

"Hmm…sounds kind of…familiar to me." Baljeet added, prompting Ferb's smirk to grow bigger and Buford to laugh. Baljeet, Phineas, and Isabella joined in the laughter, with the latter two laughing awkwardly.

Phineas' POV:

That's weird…I wonder who Baljeet was talking about. Hearing the change of tone in her voice, I would think it's about Izzy. Problem is, who would she simp for like that? Hmmm, that's quite the mystery...I'll have to try solving that sometime!

Isabella's POV:

Yeah, I know that they were talking about me! This is even worse with Ferb now joining in the joke. At least Phineas didn't join in it, or at least he doesn't get it. I just don't know how I'd explain it…so I'll just change the topic!

"Anyway," I said. "Now that we mention him, Light is kind of lazy and he can be kind of light-headed."

No POV:

"Yeah, he really isn't that smart." Buford agreed in an insulting way (toward Light).

"You can't say the same thing about Brad, though," Baljeet said. "He might even be as smart as Drake!"

"Yeah, but he tells dumb jokes like Sora does!" Buford argued.

"To be fair, it is part of their jobs as comedians and YouTubers," Isabella commented.

"True, but Brad's just better at being funny." Buford replied with a snarky remark.

"I really like how Brad gives great advice and makes every situation brighter!" Baljeet says, giving a huge smile.

"He doesn't shine the world as bright as Light does!" Buford argues jokingly, causing everyone to laugh at that obvious pun.

Ferb POV:

Even though that joke was stupid, I will admit it was clever. What I really like is seeing my friends act like this due to their common enjoyment of watching a group of YouTubers. I can't say I'd enjoy it as much, since YouTube isn't really my thing, but I can say it will help all of us bond together. The bond that all of us have as a group should hopefully end up as strong as mine and Phineas' is.

Phineas POV:

I looked to my three friends, bonding over their favorite YouTube group. Even though I knew nothing about the Squad and still know little, I couldn't help but want to bond with them over it. Friendship and the bonds that we all have with one another is valuable to me, and I feel like common interests and activities add to them. Even our common interest in making projects during the summer probably helped us all bond and be as close as we are now.

Maybe learning about and enjoying the Squad can help our "Squad" bond together better, not that we need it or anything. But chances are, our group will probably not change in the near future, so we might as well create a strong bond. It may not be like the bond I have with Ferb, and it may not ever be, there's nothing wrong with trying. Besides, I have no doubt that I'll enjoy the Squad like my friends do! In fact, my thoughts about Drake before were most likely nonsense. I mean, what's the chance that we could meet them, anyway?

Oh if only he knew what the future has in store for him…

That's Chapter 1! I hate that I had to end on such a cliffhanger (without even fully introducing the Squad), but I had to make sure I didn't overdo it for just the first chapter. If you're here from The Love Note, then this will give you quite the amount of information!

This info is:

1. You learn more about the Squad

2. You know that Sora will end up appearing in Love Note

3. This confirms that one of the P&F gang *cough cough Phineas* ends up joining The Masked Singer Jr.

If you are somehow NOT here from Love Note, then I do hope you'll read it (I mean, this story does directly connect with it…) even though it kind of spoils the future Phineas has in store for him.
