Chapter 1 A Strange Day:

Scrooge's Narration:

Long ago, an unspeakable evil attacked Duckburg: The Nine Tailed Fox! The military tried their best to keep the beast at bay. "Wait for the Fourth Warrior! Don't let him near the city!". But it wasn't enough, the beast tore through the defenses until one man stood above them all. The fourth warrior of Duckburg. He sealed the beast inside an infant who was capable of harnessing the power of the beast. Unfortunately, it cost the man his life leaving his legacy to the infant.

*sounds of a baby crying*

10 years later:

A man in his mid thirties walked around the house searching for his papers. He had light skin, dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a blue business suit, a white shirt underneath, a black tie and a pair of brown dress shoes.

"Louie! Have you seen my briefcase?" he asked.

A 10 year old boy walked into the living room. He had slightly tanned skin, messy bright blonde hair, dark green eyes and three whisker-like markings on his face. He was wearing a green hoodie, a white shirt underneath, blue jeans and green and white adidas.

"No. Why'd you ask Uncle Donald?" Louie asked.

Donald turned to his nephew as he grabbed his car keys.

"I told you, I had a job interview today" he responded.

Louie raised an eyebrow.

"Uncle Donald, isn't that like the sixth interview this month?" he asked.

"Yes but I know that this is the one," his uncle said.

Louie gained a look of doubt. Donald sighed and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I know the last five interviews didn't go well but I got a good feeling about trust me?" Donald asked.

Louie looked at his uncle and smiled.

"Yeah, you're right. Maybe this is the one" Louie said.

Donald ruffled his hair.

"Okay, I'll be home late so try and find yourself something to eat" Donald said.

Louie gave him a thumbs up and Donald walked out the house. Louie sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He had a feeling that this interview was going to be a disaster but he trusts his uncle so he hoped it would end well. His stomach began growling. Louie reached into his pocket and pulled out ten dollars and a couple of pennies.

'This should be enough for a bowl of ramen' Louie thought to himself.

He walked out the house and began heading towards the ramen stand. A few people started whispering and pointing at him as Louie walked but he ignored them. He was practically used to it by now. Louie opened the door to the ramen place.

"Hey Old Man Frank, are you here?" he asked.

A man in his fifties walked out of the kitchen and smiled at the blonde boy.

"Ah, Llewellyn, good to see you. The usual I presume?" he asked.

Louie nodded as he sat down on a stool.

"Yep, one bowl of miso ramen with pork please" he said.

Frank nodded and went to the kitchen. Louie fiddled with his chopsticks as he waited. His eyes glanced around the shop. It has changed a bit since the last time he came here. Louie smiled when he remembered the first time he came to the ramen shop.

Flashback to 3 years ago:

"Dang you! Get back here you Brat!" yelled a policeman.

A 7 year old Louie laughed as he ran off with a bucket of pain in his hand.

"Haha! Give it up! You're just mad that you don't have the guts to do what I do, do ya?! Loser!" he said. The boy hid behind a dumpster and waited for the police man to run by. Once the coast was clear, Louie stepped out from behind the dumpster.

"Hehe! That was too easy!" he said.

"Is that so?" said a voice behind him.

Louie jumped and turned to see the police man glaring at him. Louie gulped and gave him a sheepish smile.

"Uh..no hard feelings?" he asked.

He yelped as he was grabbed by his shirt.

Minutes later:

Louie sat in his bedroom with his goggles over his eyes as he heard the police talk to his uncle.

"This is the fourth time this week Mr. Dirf. If you don't get that troublemaker of yours under control. I will not hesitate to arrest him," he heard the officer say.

"Yes, I understand," he heard Donald say.

The front door was closed and Louie heard footsteps coming towards his room.

The door opened and Donald walked inside.

"Louie," Donald said.

Louie refused to meet his eyes as he focused on the ground. He felt his goggles being lifted off his eyes and looked up at his uncle with his tearful green eyes.

"I don't want to go to jail," he said.

Donald sighed and pulled the small boy into a hug.

"I know. I won't let them take you" he said.

Louie buried his face into his shoulder. Donald placed his hands on Louie's shoulders.

"Hey, how about I take you out to eat today?" Donald asked.

Louie nodded. The two males walked through Duckburg. A few people spotted them and began pointing and whispering.

"It's that kid again," Louie heard one of them say.

Donald squeezed his shoulder and opened the door to a ramen restaurant. Louie looked around the place. It was chinese styled with a few pictures of China and Japan on the walls.

"Hey Frank, are you here?" Donald asked.

A man who looked to be in his thirties or forties walked out of the kitchen. He smiled when he saw Donald.

"Donald! It's been a while" he said.

Donald smiled.

"It sure has," he said.

Frank's gaze wandered to Louie. The boy hid behind Donald.

"And who is this?" Frank asked.

"That's Louie. My nephew" Donald answered.

Frank looked closely at Louie.

'Looks like Cody and Della tied the knot' he thought to himself.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Louie," Frank said.

Louie smiled at him.

"You too," he said.

"Two bowls of miso ramen with pork," said Donald.

Frank nodded and the two males sat down at the counter. A few minutes later, Frank came out with two bowls of ramen.

"Here you go," he said,

placing the bowls down. Donald started eating. Louie looked at the bowl before eating some. His eyes went wide as he grinned.

"So good!" he exclaimed.

Donald laughed as Louie ate.

"Louie," Donald said.

"Hmm?" the boy asked.

"I just need to know...Why did you paint the Warriors of Duckburg's statues? Don't you know who they are?" he asked.

Louie nodded as he slurped up the noodles.

"Yeah, they're the protectors of the city. Especially the Fourth Warrior. He saved the whole city from the nine tailed fox," Louie said.

"So why did you do it?" Donald asked.

"Because, one day, I'm going to surpass all of them," he said,

pointing his chopsticks at Donald,

"Me, Llewellyn Dirf, The Next Warrior of Duckburg!" Louie said,

grinning. Donald blinked.

"Wow, that's an interesting career choice," he said.

Louie nodded. Donald started eating again.

"Hey Uncle Donald, I've been meaning to ask: What happened to my Mom and Dad?" he asked.

Donald looked at him.

"Umm...what do you want to know?" he asked.

Louie shrugged as he fiddled with the strings of his hoodie.

"You know, like who they were, what they were like, did they care about me?" he asked. Donald smiled.

"I can assure you they do care about you and they really did love you. And you're a bit like your father," he said.

Louie tilted his head.

"How so?" he asked.

"Well...you're Dad was a pretty cool guy, making friends wherever he went, he was also determined and a bit stubborn, like a certain troublemaker, I know" Donald said.

Louie laughed as Donald ruffled his hair.

"What about my mom?" Louie asked.

"Your mom...well she was something. She was adventurous, always ready for action. She also had a bit of anger issues but she was sweet and caring," said Donald.

Louie nodded.

"Do you think I'll meet mom someday?" he asked.

Donald smiled.

"Who knows? Maybe you will" he said.

Louie grinned.

"Yeah, and she'll see me become the warrior of Duckburg,"

Louie said. Donald and Louie laughed.

End of Flashback:

Louie smiled. That was the day he told his dream of becoming the next protector of Duckburg and it was still his dream to this day.

"Here's your miso ramen," said Frank.

Louie thanked him and started eating.

"So, where's your uncle?" asked Frank.

"He had another job interview," Louie answered,

slurping up some noodles.

"Isn't this like the seventh one this month?" the old man asked.

"It's the sixth but I'm hoping it won't be number seven" Louie said.

"Huh, I bet you're getting tired of it," Frank said.

Louie shrugged.

"I guess. But I trust Uncle Donald and maybe this one could go well" he said.

Frank nodded and walked back into the kitchen. Louie titled the bowl as he drank the broth. He placed the bowl along with his money on the counter.

"See ya old man," Louie said,

as he walked out of the restaurant. He placed his hands behind his head as he walked. Suddenly, something struck Louie in his head. He grunted as he fell to the ground. Louie heard people laughing at him and he turned to see some kids three years older than him.

"Ha! That's what you get, freak" the leader said.

Louie shook his head and stood up.

"Can you guys go one day without tormenting me?" he mumbled.

He turned to walk away but the three kids blocked his way. Louie moved to go around them but he was grabbed by his collar.

"Let me go!" he cried as he was picked up from the ground.

"I don't think so. Where's the money you owe us?" the taller one asked. Louie looked at him.

"I don't have any money! I swear, put me down!" he shouted.

He tried to get out of the bully's grip. Small sparks flew out of Louie's hand and it shocked the taller kid making him drop Louie.

"Ow! He zapped me," he cried.

Louie looked at his hands and saw sparks flying out of them.

"Run! This kid's a monster!" the shorter boy cried.

The three boys ran off.

'D-did I do that?' Louie thought to himself.

He jumped up and ran home. He had to tell his uncle. He ran into the house.

"Uncle Donald!" he cried.

Donald, who was sitting on the couch, jumped at his nephew's shout.

"Louie? What's wrong?" he asked.

"I was coming home from the ramen shop and these three kids were messing with me, I told them to leave me alone but they didn't and I zapped one of them and now I have sparks flying out my hands," he said.

Donald rubbed his temples.

"Louie, it's not physically possible for sparks to fly out your hands," he said.

Suddenly, Louie's hands erupted in flames and burnt the newspaper in Donald's hand. Louie screamed as he tried to put the flames out.

"Get a fire extinguisher! Call the fire department!" he exclaimed.

Donald grabbed a cup of water and splashed it on Louie. The flames went out but there were no burns on Louie's hands.

"Huh? Hey, my hands aren't burnt" he said,

looking at his hands. He looked at his uncle who had a worried look on his face.

"Uncle Donald, what's going on?" he asked.

Donald sighed.

"Okay, Louie, there's something you should know about your father. When he was about your age, your father was born into a family with incredible powers. While his parents had one power, your father had elemental powers," Donald explained.

Louie blinked.

"Huh and since I'm his son, I inherited those powers" he said.

Donald nodded.

"So what now?" Louie asked.

Donald grabbed a pamphlet off the kitchen counter and handed it to Louie. The blonde boy looked at the pamphlet.

"Duckburg Academy for Gifted Youths? Isn't that the school Uncle Scrooge owns?" he asked. Donald nodded.

"I'm going to call him and tell him about your powers. In the meantime, you get some rest. You've had a rough day" Donald said. Louie nodded and walked to his room. Donald sighed as he ran a hand through his hair.

'This is getting harder everyday' he thought to himself.

He grabbed the phone and dialed his uncle.
