Inside a huge tree in the middle of the spix's macaw tribe, located in the immense Amazon jungle...there was a beautiful pair of blue macaws sleeping peacefully in their comfortable nest. It was almost four in the morning, the moon was shining in all it's splendor and the air was blowing a surprisingly cold breeze... Everything was in absolute silence...which was perfect for the couple of macaws to rest deeply, cuddled with each other after a really long night...because that night...was none other than the night in which evil spirits lurked...the night in which fears and nightmares became reality...the night...of terror...
The night...of Halloween
Suddenly, a thunder out of nowhere fell from the sky...while inside the room of the two sleeping macaws...appeared a dark silhouette with brown eyes right in front of them...
This silhouette began to approach very slowly towards them without making any noise...while more and more thunders began to fall from the dark clouds... Finally...the silhouette arrived right next to the male macaw...and slowly...stretched it's fericious claws towards him...

-?: Daddy...are you awake?...
The tender and innocent voice of a small macaw was heard...it came from the dark and gloomy silhouette...which only looked like that because of the poor lighting...
-?: Daddy...?
The young female voice spoke again, while she gently shook the male macaw with her talon making him wake up slowly
-?: Mmmm what...? What...? Daughter? What...are you doing awake? – asked sleepily the male blue macaw named Blu, rubbing his brownish eyes a little with his wings to get a good look at his little daughter
-?: It's just...I can't fall asleep... I'm...afraid... – confessed the little girl looking down embarrassed as she began to tear up a little bit
-Blu: Oh Bia *gently embraces her daughter with his wings, sitting on the nest with her* you have nothing to fear it was just some thunders, we are totally safe and sound in here ^^
-Bia: *Sniff* Is n-not because of the thunders dad. I-I'm...I'm afraid about... *sniff* about...
-Blu: About what? – asked worried about his little daughter since he didn't like to see her sad
-Bia: *Sniff* Well...you'll maybe think it's ridiculous...that I believe in those things *sniff* but...*sniff* I don't want...*sniff* I don't want a vampire to get to suck my blood... *sniff*
Blu was a little surprised by what Bia had just said, it turns out that a few hours before he along with his family and friends had told some scary stories to celebrate Halloween, as Blu had taught the savage tribe about some human festivities when he and his family moved from the city to live in the jungle. Of course they tried to keep those stories from being too terrifying to avoid scaring the little ones too much, but it seemed like that hadn't really worked, at least not with Bia...
-Blu: You mean it...because of the stories we told?
Bia crestfallen nodded her head silently as she continued to cry, to which Blu gave her another hug and caressed her head.
-Blu: Oh I'm so sorry daughter, we shouldn't have told those stories...
-Bia: It's ok... *sniff* Tiago was really looking forward to hearing them as well as the others... *sniff* I'm s-sorry I woke you up for something so ridiculous
-Blu: Hey...it's okay, it's normal to feel scared Bia. Besides, between us here...I couldn't sleep the first time I heard about vampires either
-Bia: *Sniff* F-for real? *Asked surprised looking into her father's eyes who nodded his head with a gentle smile in response* But you're very brave...
-Blu: You know, Bia... Being brave doesn't mean not to feel fear at all...it means to face it and fight against it when is needed
-Bia: *Sniff* Like...that time you took the explosives up to the sky to save the jungle? Did you...feel fear there?

-?: Dad, I can't find my cape! - exclaimed a small blue macaw looking for something inside the nest, he had several red spots painted with fruit all over his body and two fake fangs in his beak

Meanwhile inside Blu and his mate's room, both of them were also dressing up to go with the kids to meet their friends for celebrating the night of horror
-Blu: Alright, I think it's ready, what do you think Jewel?
-Jewel: Hmmm I think...you look like a very handsome vampire~ – said with a flirtatious voice Blu's partner, a very beautiful turquoise-eyed blue macaw with a vampire cape tied around her neck.
-Blu: Hehe...thank you my beautiful vampire – replied blushing and smiling to his pretty wife
-Tiago: Daddy, I can't find my cape! – he exclaimed, entering his parents' room
-Blu: What? You kept it in the wooden chest Tiago
-Tiago: I know and I looked for it inside there but I didn´t find it! I can´t be a good vampire if I don´t have a cape!

Two very small canaries, both of the same height actually, were on the branch of a tree... covered with a pile of leaves, as if they were hiding from something...or someone...
-?: Are you sure he won't see us here? – asked one of the canaries, who was a female fledgling, while looking at the lilac colored eyes of the other canary. Since it was so dark under all those leaves, it was the only thing she could see
-?: Completely...but we need to remain silent or he might hear us - answered the other canary male chick while looking back into the eyes of the little female which were lilac colored as well
At that moment both canaries heard the sound of a small branch breaking
-?: Did you hear that? – she whispered nervously
-?: Y-yes...I think he knows we are here – he whispered nervously too
They both stayed completely quiet...and listened...nothing at all...
-?: ...I think we are safe...
Suddenly a big wolf silhouette seen under the moonlight quickly stirred the leaves with a howl, causing the two helpless canaries to scream in surprise
-?: I found you little ones! And now I will eat you! – exclaimed the wolf silhouette with a playful voice
-?: Not if we don't allow it! Attack, Derek!
Exclaimed with determination the little yellow canary with blue and purple feathers on her head and tail, as well as some purple feathers on her wings and some orange markings around her eyes.
While the other chick also had some peculiar blue and purple feathers on his head, but unlike the other one, this one had some blue feathers on his wings and on the back of his head, and some purple and yellow ones on his tail (and the markings around his eyes were also blue)
The two who were wearing a wolf costume (which consisted of a furry beanie shaped like a wolf's head and a costume full of fur with a tail tied around the waist zone, and a bare space for their real tail to be out...actually, the costume looked more cute than scary) they pounced on the bigger wolf, who wasn't really a real wolf either, but a blue macaw in a costume, with yellow feathers on both his chest and back of his neck, purple feathers on the tips of his hair, and yellow and blue feathers on his tail. His wings had feathers of all the previously mentioned colors and he had orange markings around his brown colored eyes. The macaw felt the two canaries pounce on him and fell down on the branch playfully feigning pain and making the other two chicks laugh
-?: Aghhh, they're attacking me, they're attacking me! Somebody help this poor little wolf...! – said the macaw very dramatically
-Derek: Hehehehe, don't exaggerate either Timothy – said the little guy laughing
-Timothy: Ah, do you think I'm exaggerating? Do you think I'm exaggerating?! – at that moment he grabs the two little birds in his wings and starts juggling with them making them laugh even more – *Imitates a howl* Believe me I'm a very fierce wolf my little bro!
-?: Hahahaha stop! Hahaha help us somebody hahaha!
-Timothy: No one will help you Aurea, this is what you deserve for being some little naughty kids hehehehe

Exclaimed another wolf silhouette even bigger than Timothy's from behind him, causing the three little birds to scream until they were grabbed by the wings of the silhouette which was actually an adult blue macaw with lilac eyes as well as the tips of the feathers of her hair, tail and some of her wings, and just like the three little ones she was wearing a wolf costume
-?: You are now mine little appetizing wolves! *Begins to kiss the heads and cheeks of the three chicks constantly, making them laugh even more*
-Timothy: No mommy! Hahaha
-Aurea: Mommy stop it! Hehehe!
-Derek: Too many kisses haha! Too many kisses!
At that moment two more adult birds appeared: a canary and a cardinal, both wearing wolf costumes as well, watching the cute scene with a smile
-?: Maybe it would be good for daddy wolf to intervene don't you think Nico? – said the obese cardinal with red crest and brown eyes charismatically
-Nico: Hehe, you're right – replied the brown-eyed canary with orange markings around them happily, sneaking up on the laughing family from behind...until he jumped on the macaw's back surprising her – But papa wolf is way even hungrier haha! *Takes a bite on her neck playfully* Yum!

-Nathaniel: What? Really? But...the sky was completely clear!
He then began approaching towards his wife to take a look at the sky as well, but the closer he got to the hollow's entrance...more could be seen some thunders forming between the clouds...
-Carla: How cool dad and mom had let us go don't you think Bia? nwn
-Bia: Yeah, I was kinda getting annoyed by Tiago not finding his vampire cape heh – said as both siblings were already flying to meet up with their friends, but suddenly at that moment...the sky began to turn cloudy and dark
-Carla: Uh...Bia...it's going to rain isn't it?... – asked worried looking up at the gray clouds
-Bia: I...think it seems so... – replied with the same level of concern as her sister
-Carla: Shall we better turn back?
-Bia: Umm... *sighs* I guess... Though is really weird it got so cloudy such in a sudden...

Blu then started combing Tiago's head feathers again, while Jewel's instinct suddenly activated. She didn't know why but she could feel something wrong...no idea what it was but she could feel it...like something bad was going to happen...
She could hear a few thunders at the distance, so she decided to go take a look outside from her hollow...and she saw...Carla and Bia flying back towards her
-Carla: Mom! It seems like it will rain!
Jewel turned to look up at the sky, and with a lot of horror she immediately flew towards her daughters as fast as she could
-Jewel: CARLA! BIA! GET AWAY!
-Skyler: Look! Those are some...weird thunders... – said pointing at the clouds
-Violet: Whoaaa why are they multicolored dad?
-Nathaniel: I...I don't know sweetheart...
-Pedro: GuUuuuUuuys... *pant* please waaAaAait... *pant* I almost rEaCh yOu...
-Timothy: We are only missing a few trees more and I'm going to win! *Low sound of a thunder* (Oh and just in time before the storm begins hehe)
-Lila: I don't think so little boy! – said flapping even faster to reach him
-Aurea: We are gonna win you dad and uncle!

He turned to look at his mother, laughing with a huge smile...but that smile soon faded away as he contemplated how her mother was suddenly hit by a huge strong purple thunder that fell from the sky...
He had his eyes and beak wide opened in shock, as well as the rest of the family, but little they knew they would get another surprise because suddenly...another black colored thunder had fell right towards Nico...
Jewel was flying with all her forces to reach her daughters since a red colored thunder was about to impact against them, or that's what it seemed like at least... The little chicks turned to look up and got terrified when they saw it, but just when they were going to receive the hit, they were quickly pushed away strongly by her mother, who unfortunately received the thunder instead...
When Blu and Tiago noticed the sound and light of the red thunder outside the nest, their eyes and beak opened widely when they saw Jewel had been electrocuted by it
And they were not the only unfortunates, because Skyler and Violet...had also had to see how their husband/father was hit by a green colored thunder as he had quickly pushed them both back again into their hollow to keep them safe from the impact... Skyler had her wing stretched towards her beloved one as she was falling because of the push...
And at the end, her and her daughter had finished falling down on their nest's floor

-Skyler: ...N-NATH! NATH ARE YOU OK DARLING?! – she immediately stood up to go with her husband – NATH
Nathaniel was laid on the floor with all his body shaking as a few green rays were appearing on it from time to time, he had his eyes closed tightly with a grin of pain and he was panting and groaning
-Skyler: Nathy, o-oh my gosh you need- I-I will- just- JUST RESIST!
-Nathaniel: *Groan* S-Sky...it...it's hurting!... AAAGH! *Some little tears fall from his eyes as he was feeling an indescribable pain* Owww...
-Skyler: Nathy! O-oh god I-I don't know what should I do I- I need HELP! PLEASE SOMEBODY! ANYONE! Y-you...you don't have even a scratch? – asked confused, nervous and desperate at the same time when she saw there wasn't really any physical injury on his body
-Nathaniel: N-no...but it still burns from the INSIDE Aaagh! *Sniff* W-what's happening to me?! – he noticed that his wing blue feathers were suddenly turning into some grayish green feathers slowly
-Skyler: I-I, oh god oh god oh god oh god! – she exclaimed covering her beak while she was breathing heavily since she had no idea at all of what was going on or what should she do
-Violet: D-dad?!
-Nathaniel: V-Violet, I-I'll be fine, I promise ok?! D-do not be, s-scared sweetie...I'll be alright – said smiling nervously at her trying her not to feel scared but the truth was that he himself was so scared as well
-Violet: B-but you are turning green... – said with noticable concern in her voice while she started to cry a little cuz of the fear
-Nathaniel: H-hey hey...look at me...e-everything is... *gulp* gonna be fine ok? W-whatever is happening to me is not...is not bad ok? D-do not feel...I-I'll be alrighty ok?... – said with a shaky voice while more of his feathers continued turning green
-Skyler: Nath...
-Nathaniel: S-Skyler whatever happens to me I-I want you to know I love you so much ok? Take good care of Violet, you two are the best that could happen to me... – said with some more tears falling down from his eyes
-Skyler: N-no, don't talk like that you'll be fine! I-I just...I...
-Nathaniel: *Sniff* Skyie... *all his feathers had turned completely into green as well as his eyes* I-I love you...
At the end...he closed his eyes to fall completely unconscious...
-Skyler: N-Nath! No no no please love wake up! Nath! NATH! – she started to shake him waiting for any response...but there was none... – ...O-oh my goodness no Nath... *sobs*...
-Blu: JEWEL!
As Jewel started falling right in the middle of the air, Blu with no doubt ran to jump from his nest and fly full speed down to reach his wife
Bia and Carla flapped several times to rebalance their flight after that strong tackle from her mother, and they gasped when they saw she was falling and his father was trying to reach her
After a few seconds when she was about to arrive to the ground, Blu was able to reach her just in time and grabbed her with his claws but thanks to all the impulse he had taken he wasn't able to fly up on time so he only managed to soften the fall before they both crashed on all the dirt
-Blu: Huff...oof...Jewel, can you hear me?! Jewel?!
-Jewel: *Groan* Blu...I...think I have a stomachache or something...uuuugh *hugs herself tightly while shaking as she felt a lot of pain inside*
-Blu: D-don't worry, I-I can take you with the ornithologists just resist! *Carries her carefully*
-Jewel: Aaagh Blu...is t-too far...owwwww I'm not g-gonna make it...! *Breathes heavily*
-Blu: Y-you are! You'll be fine they just need to...um...you don't have...wounds...? *Asked checking her body confused*
-Jewel: *Groans in pain while she started to cry* Bluuu...I feel like I'm going to explode... *sniff*
-Blu: O-oh sorry! I'll take you with the doctors right away ok?! T-they're not that far! If I hurry up we'll be there in at least some f-five minutes for sure! J-just be strong! – he took flight with Jewel on his talons, he was trying to stay calm and focused but to be honest deep inside he was really REALLY scared and worried about her, and you could see it on his eyes
-Carla: Tiago! What happened?!
-Tiago: I-I don't know! Mom just got outside and- o-out of nowhere a-a red thunder hit her! – exclaimed standing on a branch outside their nest and looking down at his parents worried
-Bia: B-but how did this happen?! It doesn't make any sense! – exclaimed really worried and scared as well
-Carla: I don't know but we need to help mom now! Come on!
Soon the three siblings flew down with their parents to help take Jewel to a sanctuary which was established in the jungle after the events of the fight against the fellers. They all started flying towards there as fast as they could, while Jewel's body continue shaking and being surrounded by red rays from time to time... They were all so focused in arriving that no one noticed Jewel's eyes were starting to become red...
-Pedro: GUYS! – him along the family flew down immediately to go with Lila and Nico who had fallen to the ground after those thunder impacts
-Lila: Oooooowwie...ooooww N-Nico...y-you got hit too?... – said weakly between gasps and groans
-Nico: Ooow...y-yea...mmph I'm glad y-you are fine at least... – said between gasps and groans too while looking at her shaking and with a few purple rays appearing on her body – Y-you have...uuuh...electri-city...
-Lila: *Nods* Mmhm you too... *looking at the black rays appearing on the canary's body*
-Timothy: MOM! DAD! Oh phew you are ok!
-Lila: Aaaagh...I've felt...better son not gonna lie...oooow...a thunder hurts so MUCH! Aaah... – she exclaimed with an intense pain in her which made her start tearing a bit as well as Nico
-Pedro: Nico! *Pant* Lila! *Pant* You guys ok?! *Pant*
-Lila: O-oh yeah we just got hit by an insane thunder you know, the USUAL! Aaagh! – said sarcastically with tears falling down her face
-Timothy: M-mom... *puts a wing on her worried*
-Lila: D-don't worry *sniff*, I'll be fine ok? Your dad and I just need to...r-rest *sniff*
-Aurea: How can we help you?!
-Nico: *Groan* Do not worry kids...mom and I will recover...in a moment *sniff*...
-Pedro: I think it'd be good to take you to that human sanctuary!
-Nico: *Sniff* Y-yea, sounds good! B-but...
-Lila: Take your father first kids, I-I'm too heavy for you to carry me... *groan*
-Timothy: But mom you need urgent help! U-um uncle! You take my father! Aurea, Derek, we will take mom between the three of us alright?!
-Aurea and Derek: Got it!
-Pedro: Ok! *Tries to take Nico on his talons while flapping* Mmmmph! Dude...you are heavy...
-Nico: Oh look who says it! *Groan of pain*
Pedro really was trying to carry his friend, but for some reason he was feeling really heavy...at first he thought he felt him like that since he was tired because of the race, but later he noticed that his heaviness was only augmenting more and more...so he turned to look at him freaked out, but he freaked out way even more when he noticed that his friend's eyes...had became bigger...and yellow...
-Pedro: D-dude...I know you can't look at your own eyes but...l-look at your eyes!
-Nico: What's wrong with my eyes...
-Pedro: Well they are...
-Derek: Mom! What's up with your feathers?!
The three young birds noticed how their mother's plumage was suddenly turning darker and darker, except for the purple feathers on her wings, tail and hair. Lila as well as the kids got very shocked about this, but it got worse when her head started to ache so much, she screamed falling on her knees while the blue feathers of her body had turned completely into black
-Timothy: MOM! WHAT'S HAPPENING?!
-Lila: I DON'T KNOW! AAAAH!
The kids then also heard some screams from his father, as it results that he was strangely getting bigger and...furry, which made them feel even more scared stepping backwards along with Pedro
-Nico: P-PEDRO! TAKE CARE OF THE KIDS AND GET AWAY FROM HERE! AAAH! – some long black fur was growing around all his body as well as two triangle shaped ears and a tiny fang on his...snout
-Aurea: Daddy! Mommy! – screamed really scared as some tears began forming on her eyes as well as his brother's ones
-Lila: You need to get our of here ok?! LEAVE! AND NO MATTER WHAT, STAY UNITED ALL THE TIME! AAAH!... – those were her last words before she fell to the ground unconscious
-Derek: Mommy no!
-Pedro: K-kids we need to go!
-Timothy: We can't just leave them there!
-Nico: Aaagh Timothy just go away with Pedro and your siblings! NOW! – later some sharp and large claws had appeared on what it previously were his wings
-Timothy: But-
-Pedro: Come on kids! Come on fly fly!
-Aurea and Derek: Daddyyy!
The fours birds started to get away from there flying as fast as they could, although the two younger little canaries were crying so terrified about what happened to their parents in front of them. Timothy and Pedro were trying to calm them down, they were trying to act mature in front of them as their respective older brother and uncle, but to be honest they both wanted to cry as they were so horrified as well, but mostly...worried...worried about what had happened to Lila and Nico...and why
At the end, all the multicolored thunders that had been seen on the sky were completely gone...and only a loud chilling howl from a black wolf with yellow eyes was heard in all the tribe on this night...

Well...well...well...spooky, right? So this was it my dear feathered readers, the first chapter of this new special spooky month story I thought of! What do you think?
