How We Were Then
Zag loved to watch Meg while slept. She was always so peaceful then, relaxed, with a little smile on her lips. The Fury had her arm around him, pulling him into her chest. So peaceful. The complete opposite of how they were before really.
Before it was all pain and yelling and occasional flirting. They liked how it was honestly, Zag greatly enjoyed their fights and Meg did too. They looked forward to them every time Zag would get resurrected.
"I can feel you staring." Meg mumbled opening one eye to look at him.
"Sorry. You're... kinda cute when you sleep." He ginned at the Fury who did her best to hide her blush by burying her face in his spiky hair, "I was thinking..."
"That can't be good." Meg smiled into his hair, feeling the young god smiling against her skin, "What's going on in that reckless head of your Zag?" Meg draped her wing over him, running her fingers trough his hair, scratching his scalp just the way he likes it.
"You and me. We've come long way haven't we." Meg hummed, "You were so hostile to me before."
"And you were annoying. With your persistence, your quips of your smug grins." Meg kissed him on the forehead, "But... those were also the things I grew to like so much about you."
Zag looked up at her with a grin, "And you like our fights right? I certainly do. You're fun. But you're also strong and pretty and forward. I think I always like that about you. But you can be soft too." Zag tilted his head to gave Meg a little kiss.
Meg didn't object. She could have and before she would have. But Zag was right. She was soft sometimes, but only with him. He's the only one to see that side of her. She has a reputation to keep after all. Even if rumors have been around for a while, but no one would dare tell them to Meg's face.
"Only for you Zag. Only for you." Meg kissed him back, enjoying the little hum of delight the kiss drew from Zag.
They might not have started off on the right foot and it might have taken a lot of time, but Zag has, surely and slowly, made his way into Meg's heart and filled it with the kind of love she never thought she would feel.
