Hey, guys I'm back with a new story I loved working on this consider it a early birthday present to Kokichi. This is also a minor filler story until I get some other projects finished so enjoy. And let me know have any of you watched Nagito reviews.
Did you know Nagito had a YouTube channel? Well, he did until Kokichi took it. It all started when Hajime was looking for guests to join Nagito Reviews and Kokichi was the only one who agreed to join. One thing led to another, and the Ultimate Supreme Leader managed to hack in and literally steal the show. And that leads us to now with Hajime asking Amy to get the channel back for them.
"So, what do you think, Amy? Chihiro's busy working with his father. You're the only one I know who can get the channel back from Kokichi." Hajime pleaded while stroking Nagito's hair as he laid on Hajime's lap.
"Well, it's not impossible." The ginger replied, typing on her laptop, "But it may take a while. Knowing Kokichi, he would have a complicated password to keep you from getting back in. It may take a few days, a week at best."
"It doesn't matter how long it takes." Hajime replied sternly, "Even if Nagito gave it to him, I don't trust Kokichi to take care of the channel. Knowing the things he pulls, that little scamp could cause more harm than good.
"Now, that was your first mistake." Emily cut in, sitting on the couch, "You never trust Kokichi with anything. This never would have happened if you didn't let that little gremlin onto your show."
"It wasn't my fault." The spiky brunette defended, "Kokichi volunteered to join the show. Plus, he was the only one who would agree to be on it."
"And that brings me back to my first point. Never trust a liar! Especially if that liar is the leader of an evil organization." Emily explained, referring to Kokichi's so-called organization, DICE.
"Okay, you have a point. I know trusting Kokichi was a bad move on my part. But I just wanted to help Nagito out of his depression." Hajime admitted,
"It's fine, Hajime." Nagito spoke up tiredly, "I'm happy to let Kokichi have the channel if it means he's happy. I mean, I'm so hopeless I'm sure the fans will be better off with someone more competent."
"Don't be so hard on yourself. You had a good run. Now it's time to move on to something greater." The D.J. encouraged,
"Like what?" Nagito questioned,
"I don't know." She shrugged, "But I'm sure we can find you a hobby to get you out of your depresso espresso state."
"Hey, guys." Dakota greeted, carrying a tray of ice cream.
"Hey, Dakota." They replied,
"Hey, Nagito, how are you feeling." She asked the worn-out ultimate.
"Better, not great, but better." The lucky student replied simply.
"I brought some Ice cream to make you feel better." The performer stated, holding up the tray,
"Thanks, Dakota; I can always count on you when I'm feeling down." He replied, making Emily snot,
"Says the guy who couldn't keep her for six months." She teased,
"Um, Emily?" Dakota paused, "Nagito and I never dated."
"Wait, you didn't?" She questioned with widened eyes,
"We didn't." Nagito clarified, "Didn't I tell you I'm gay?"
"Oh, right, you two are a thing in that other alternate universe." The brunette remembered, "Anyway, Dakota, while I have you here. Do you think you could help us with your precious angel?"
"Huh, what did the precious child do this time?!" Dakota gasped, dropping the tray causing the ice cream to spill everywhere,
"I'll explain everything." Hajime spoke up, "But first, Emily could you clean the ice cream up?"
"Of course, leave the mess to me!" She agreed sarcastically, walking off to grab some wipes,
Hajime explained the situation to Dakota about how Kokichi volunteered to be on Nagito's show and how he later took over.
"Hmm, did you e-mail YouTube about the hacking?" She suggested a hand over her mouth,
"Yes, we didn't get a reply," Hajime replied,
"Now that's your third mistake." Emily interrupted, cleaning up the mess, "YouTube doesn't do anything."
"Yeah, we should've known better," Nagito stated,
"So, can you help us get our channel back?" Hajime asked,
"Well, I could but let me ask you this. Nagito, would that make you happy?" She asked,
"No, not really. I've treated my friends horribly thanks to that channel. I've been at my worst after getting them involved."
"Then that settles it." Dakota concluded, "I know Kokichi can be a handful, but you shouldn't force yourselves to get something back that you don't want. That could leave you feeling more miserable. I'm sure your fans will understand, Nagito. It's your choice after all."
"You have a point. I've never thought about it like that." Hajime realized, "But I still don't trust Kokichi with the channel."
"Fine if you're so worried about the precious scamp ruining all your hard work. Then I'll keep an eye on him for the time being." Dakota offered,
"You'll do that?" The reserve student asked shockingly.
"Of course, I will. Kokichi may come off as a trouble-making liar. But once you get to know him, he is the sweetest little thing." Dakota grinned, thinking about her best friend, much to everyone's disapproval.
"I am not taking my statement back," Dakota stated, seeing everyone glaring at her,
Dakota said goodbye to her friends and went to the third floor of the dorms, where the class of 79 stayed. Dakota and Kokichi have been best friends since the day they first met a year ago. Even though most of the school saw Kokichi as both a lying troublemaker and a pest, Dakota saw Kokichi as a good-hearted boy who struggled with trust issues. Dakota loved Kokichi so much that he's basically her precious son. The ultimate performer walked down the hall until she reached Kokichi's dorm room. The door was open ajar, so the performer took this chance to surprise him. Opening the door quietly, Dakota snuck in and made her way to Kokichi, writing at his desk.
"Hey, precious child!" She greeted, starting the little leader off his chair.
"Whoops, sorry, Kokichi." Dakota giggled seeing the leader pouting on the ground,
"Ow! Dakota?! Didn't anyone ever tell you never scare an evil supreme leader?! Now I'll have to send D.I.C.E. after you for that stunt." Kokichi threatened grumpily,
Dakota laughed at the empty threat. She knew Kokichi's organization wasn't as big as he made it out to be and met a few of his members. They were also troublemakers but good people looking to blow off steam from the daily stress of high school. Kokichi considers them family, and Dakota knew they meant no harm.
"So, what are you doing here other than scaring me half to death?" The supreme leader questioned, inspecting his nails as he often does when he's broad.
"I just came to check up on you. You know how much I love you, right Kochi?" Dakota asked, using one of the nicknames she gave him.
"Not so loud. The last time someone heard you call me that I was teased for a month. I almost considered sending D.I.C.E. after them. Then I remembered we have a no-killing rule." He explained, but Dakota knew it was a lie Kokichi loves attention, and pet names are his biggest weakness.
"Kokichi, you and I both know that's not true everyone knows how much I care about you. They would never tease you over something so innocent." Dakota pointed out,
"Ugh, fine, you got me. And I thought Shumai Dumpling was good at pointing out my lies. Wow, Dakota, you've gotten good at reading me." Kokichi beamed,
"Well, unlike everyone else, I wanted to understand you." The brunette stated, "It took some time steadying the behaver of compulsive liars, but Amy and Celeste helped me a ton. I'm glad it paid off. You really needed a friend Kichi."
"I'm happy to have you too. I never knew how good it feels to trust someone again. You've helped me too, Dakota." Kokichi admitted making Dakota's heart melt as she hugged her precious child.
"So, what are you doing?" Dakota asked, sitting on a chair with Kokichi on her lap. "I doubt you're working on homework, and you're in deep water after the prank you pulled last week."
"Don't remind me I didn't think the curtains in the classroom were that flammable. Though in hindsight, I shouldn't have brought fireworks inside in the first place, so that ones on me." The leader smiled with his hands behind his head. "Now, what about you? It's not like you to come around without me knowing. Tell me what's going on your leader demands it."
"Okay, you got me." Dakota caved, "Hajime told me you stole Nagito's channel. They wanted me to keep an eye on you for the time being."
"I knew it, blabbermouth." The purplenette pouted, "Well, I guess having you here isn't so bad. I could use your help.
"Whatcha need, Kichi?"
"I'm having trouble thinking about this week's video topic. Nagito and Hajime have talked about everything I wanted to talk about. And the ideas I come up with are lame." Kokichi explained, "So, can you help me?"
"Of course, precious boy, I would love to help you." Dakota agreed, "So, have you tried top five carbonated drinks?"
"Did that last week when I took over. I already talked about Panta." He replied,
"Oh, okay, how about top five pranks?"
"That's not bad but not good enough. Don't want to get marked for kids, now do we." Kokichi pointed out,
"True, wait. How about top five Kirby copy abilities." Dakota suggested, "Kirby is for everyone. I doubt we'll need to worry about Coppa ruining our fun. It would be a great video topic."
"A fan-favorite game about a pink puffball who happens to be part vacuum." Kokichi pondered on the idea for a moment, "I like it. Okay, this week's video will be about the big tough, pink puff. I like the way you think, Dakota."
"Great, but if it's okay with you, could I be in the video?" She offered, "You know how much I love spending time with you. And I promised Hajime I'd keep an eye on you."
"Sure, come on, let's write the script, and then we'll get Shuichi's help with filming," Kokichi said,
"Sounds like a plan, my precious little leader." Dakota and Kokichi got to work on the script and, when they were done, went to Shuichi's room to start filming.
"So, how about it, Shumai Dumpling?" Kokichi inquired, "How does this script look?"
"Looks surprisingly good. You two make a good team. Thanks for keeping an eye on him, Dakota. I've been busy training with Kaito and Maki lately. So, I haven't had much time to help Kokichi out." Shuichi explained,
"No problem Shu, I'm always happy to spend time with Kichi. But you don't have to edit the video for us. I can always ask Amy for help." Dakota offered,
"No, it's fine." The detective declined, "I actually owe Kokichi a favor for being the only one who stayed with me during my depressive episode. That was caused after I went on Nagito's web show."
"Right, I heard about that." Dakota remembered the top five hats episode, "I'm glad you're feeling better. Shuichi and Nagito told me he was sorry for the way he treated you. At least Kokichi was there to help you recover. You're lucky to have a caring boyfriend."
"Um, thanks, but he's not my boyfriend. So, are you two ready?" Shuichi checked, "If we want to get this video by the end of the week, we better start now."
"Yep, come on, Dakota. We've got a video to do." Kokichi stated excitedly, grabbing Dakota's hand and rushing to the green screen.
"Hello, my fateful minions Kokichi Ouma here with another exciting review. Today I'm here with an exciting guest Dakota Natalie the Ultimate Performer." Kokichi introduced,
"Hi everyone, it's great to be here." She waved, "I'm so excited to be on the show Kochi."
"Um, I'm glad my favorite performer is honored to be here but keep the nicknames on the down-low, okay. Don't want to get the shippers involved." Kokichi requested, "Nee hee hee, they all know I belong to Shuichi anyway. So, today's video topic that yours truly picked out with no help whatsoever is…" He paused for dramatic effect. "Top Five Kirby Copy abilities. So, without further ado on with the show." Kokichi cheered,
"So, my pick for number five is the sleep ability. This has got to be the most useless copy ability in the whole franchise. Seriously who thought it was a good idea to make Kirby sleep and do nothing else?! It doesn't even restore his H.P. until Squeak Squad came out, and it was utilized for that game only. The only reason this ability got on my list in the first place is because Kirby looks really cute with his little nightcap, and it did become a useful ability for Kirby Battle Royale. But other than that, this ability makes me sleepy." Kokichi yawned,
"Aw, that's so cute, Kichi." Dakota gushed, "Okay, my turn for number four, my ability pick is sword. Just look at how cute Kirby looks with his little hat and sword. I think the sword ability is one of the most iconic copy abilities. Plus, the way it was handled in the anime was amazing." The performer explained excitedly,
"Wow, you really did your research for that one, didn't you," Kokichi questioned,
"Nah, I'm just a Kirby super fan." She replied simply,
"Okay, then now onto number three. For my third pick, we have the bubble ability. One of the best abilities out there is what I would say if it weren't so stupid! Seriously Bubbles?! Is that the best they can do?" The Leader wondered, "Might as well put Kirby in a fursuit and claim that as an ability too…" He trailed off, seeing Kirby has an animal ability. "Oh… Oh god, Kirby is a furry confirmed! Run for your lives!"
"Alright, Kochi, let's not get that community involved." Dakota cut in before it escalated, "Now for number two, we have the mirror ability. You might like this one, Precious Boy. The mirror ability has changed a lot since it was first introduced in Kirby Super Star. It was similar to the beam ability with Kirby firing projectiles from a wand now. Kirby can multiply and bounce back enemy attacks. How about that as an awesome ability?"
"Now that's what I call useful." The supreme leader agreed, "Much better than those rejects. I always wondered what it would be like to clone myself imagine, the chaos I could cause with an army of me. No one would be safe, no one!" Kokichi laughed maniacally while pulling one of his terrifying demon faces. Startling Dakota and Shuichi, who was filming,
"Awww, you're so cute when you act all evil." Dakota gushed hands on her cheeks as she calmed herself down. "Kokichi, stop being so terrifyingly adorable!"
"Whoops, got a little carried away there." The purplenette admitted, "Assuming I didn't scare away our viewers, why don't you do the honorable mentions while I calm down our cameraman. Come here, Shumai." Kokichi walked off-screen to calm down a shaking Shuichi,
"Alright, while our precious little leader does that. I'll take it from here, for the honorable mentions we have…" Dakota drew the statement out for dramatic effect. "The ice ability, the fire ability, the stone ability, and finally the anime exclusive abilities water baton, top, and iron. Some of these ended up as inspiration for other abilities, and water became a mainstay in Kirby's Return to Dreamland."
"So, I guess that leaves us to number one." Kokichi returned,
"Yep, we're almost done here. Take it away, precious boy." The brunette skipped off-screen to give Kokichi the spotlight,
"What did I tell you about the nicknames? Oh, well, it doesn't matter. I can always send D.I.C.E. after the people who think we're a couple." Kokichi thought aloud, "Alright then, for number one, we have the super abilities from Kirby's Return to Dreamland. And might I say these things are O.P.! Supercharging fire, bomb, sword, ice, beam, and hammer. How cool is that?! Though I guess the only downside is it's a temporary ability. Yep, just like hypernova and the mech suit, the super abilities are temporary and exclusive to R.T.D.L. You know now that I'm saying this out loud, these abilities don't belong on the number one spot. They belong on the number one and a half spot." Kokichi realized,
"The real number one is the circus ability. Now Kirby is a loveable jester like me, and it's much more fitting to be number one."
"So, I guess we're done here, right Kichi?" Dakota inquired,
"Yep, we're done here. Special thanks to Dakota for giving me the idea and joining me on the show. Oh, and did I mention Dakota gave me the idea for this topic? Yep, I lied. Dakota deserves most of the credit for this episode's theme."
"Thanks, Kokichi. I'm happy I was able to help you."
"Welp, that's all for now. Fans, please like and subscribe for more videos. Oh, you can also check out the videos Nagito made before I took over."
"Bye everyone" They waved,
"And cut!" Shuichi called, "That's a rap. You two did great."
"Thanks, Shuichi, that was a lot of fun thanks for having me, Kokichi." Dakota thanked hugging him,
"I'm glad you had fun. He replied, "So, now that we're done, want to go to a café to celebrate? it's on me."
"Sure, Shuichi want to come?"
"No thanks, I have a video to edit." He declined, "You two have fun, okay."
"Alright, we'll bring you something back." Kokichi waved the two besties left Shuichi's room, but before they left Hope's Peak, Kokichi changed his clothes into something more casual. He was now wearing a purple jacket, jeans, and running shoes. Kokichi told everyone he wears the other outfit so the police wouldn't recognize him. But it's just something more comfortable for him to wear.
"So, I'm guessing you've played at least most of the Kirby games, considering you know a lot about them." The leader assumed, stirring his drink,
"Yeah, I've been a fan since Squeak Squad came out. But my first Kirby game was Kirby's Adventure. Such a classic." She sighed,
"It sure is. Thanks again for helping me. I'm sure my fans will enjoy my charisma more than mister hope obsessed weirdo. Plus, I don't need to stick to a schedule so that I won't be burned out anytime soon." Kokichi gloated, leaning back in his chair.
"Yeah, I've meant to ask about that." The performer's tone became serious, "Kokichi, why did you steal Nagito's channel when you could've made your own?"
"Oh, you know me. As the Ultimate Supreme Leader, it's my job to cause havoc for others. Plus, Nagitoe was so tired that he didn't even put up a fight. Which made my job super easy." Kokichi explained, but Dakota knew better than to fall for that lie.
"Kokichi, you don't need to do your evil supreme leader act with me. Talk to me. You know you can trust me with the truth." She reassured,
"Fine, you're no fun." Kokichi pouted, crossing his arms as he gave in, "Alright, the truth is I stole the channel to give Nagito a break. You've seen him, right? He's burnt out and in desperate need of a break from everything. I know the feeling, so I decided to hack into the channel to give Nagito the rest he needed. And since he gave in with no problem, I realized I did the right thing even if no one would understand it." Kokichi looked away as he finished explaining. He may seem like a troublemaker, but the supreme leader had a heart of pure gold deep inside.
"Wow." Dakota chuckled, "That has got to be the sweetest thing you have ever down for anyone, sweety boy. Even if Hajime doesn't understand the reasoning, I'm sure he'll thank you in the future."
"I hope so. But don't tell anyone about this. I have a reputation to uphold. I can't let anyone think I'm going soft." The purplenette requested,
"Deal, but I've got a request of my own."
"Whatcha need, girl?"
"So, I think it's no secret that Nagito has a little thing for Hajime, right?" Dakota questioned,
"Secret, the whole school knows except for Hajime since he's a dense idiot who can't take a hint." Kokichi scuffed,
"Yeah, I think that's the protagonist curse. It seems like a few of our friends have it." Dakota realized,
"You're telling me, it took me a whole year for Shuichi to get the hint I'm crushing on him. But at least we're closer to dating terms. It's a slow process." He shrugged,
"That's understandable. But I was thinking we should set these two up on a blind date. Think about it Hajime and Nagito care about each other. And almost everyone thinks they're perfect for each other, so with our talents combined, let's set these two up for romance." Dakota offered confidently,
"Will it involve lying?" Kokichi wondered, a Cheshire grin beginning to form.
"It will involve being a little sneaky, so maybe."
"I am so in. Let's do this, Dakota. Let's have some fun." The leader agreed with a mischievous grin. The two finished their drinks and started walking back to Hope's Peak with plans to get Hajime and Nagito together fresh in their minds.
"Hey, Shuichi, forget the video for a while. Get Emily and meet us at Dakota's dorm." Kokichi ordered over the phone. "Why? Let's just say we've got a new pet project to work on. And we're going to need back up."
With Dakota and Kokichi's leadership skills combined, it was time to commence operation get-together. Things are about to get hectic for Hajime and Nagito's love life, but that wasn't a bad thing after all. Some things in life need a little push to get going. A push that Dakota was confident she could make.
To be continued.
Thank you for reading this story I don't think I'll be posting for awhile since I'm moving today but I'll try to get as much down so when I return I'll have a few things to post have a great day or night and I'll see you all next time. I'll start working on the sequel soon.
