Lps High Ep.15 The Baker Road Race
Tuesday was a rough day for Sunil. He had to help Russell again but hopefully he found confidence in him. He still had to deal with Captain tonight for the race. Sunil only had one thing on his mind and that was to take Pepper home. She was already waiting for him at the exit. Her sweet smile always made Sunil's day better. They both walked off to Sunil's car only to see Captain pull up to them in his Mustang. He gave them a grid then Sunil told him "Baker Road…" Captain turned his head over and drove off. While they were driving through downtown Pepper asked "Are you really going to race him, Sunil?" Sunil turned then gave a sigh "I have too Russell is already doubtful about her Pepper. The last thing he needs is everyone making fun of him for it. I know you're scared about it but it's one time, one lap, and a straight line". "Who does Russell like?"Pepper asked. Sunil wanted to keep this a secret but he trusted her "He likes Zoe, Pepper. He has been down about it for weeks and I try to tell him to try. Let's just hope he does. That reminds me where is she at?". Pepper was surprised to hear that Russell likes her best friend. "Oh...she's at college touring I think, she really likes it there. I hope she never leaves but it's not like I'm alone". Arriving near Pepper's house where Sunil would drop her off and she hugged him before he could get out. "I'm coming with you tonight…" she said. Sunil knew he told her to be ready at 7pm. Sunil reminded her of her cassette tape but Pepper told him to keep it. She watched him drive away and walk the rest of the way home. But who knows where or when…". Not far away he seen Russell at a gas station in downtown. Sunil pulled in to see him filling his car. Russell hearing his car was enough for him to know who it was "Hey Russ how are you doing? I found out where she by the way". Russell jumped a bit "Oh… im fine. Where is she?". Sunil seen the excitment from him "She's at a college out of town just touring. Listen Pepper know about this but I promised she will not tell a soul". "A college? Huh well if you trust Pepoer then I guess I can too" said Russell. Sunil couldn't stay long he had to get ready for tonight he asked "are pyou coming tonight?". Russell replied "Hell yeah I am i got you in this mess and jesus im sorry man". Sunil sighed "Ehh don't worry about I wanna prove this asshole he treated Pepper like she's one of his sluts...fuckin peice of shit". Russell agreed "Oh yeah classic Sunil isn't taking shit like that when a love one is on the line right". "Damn straight either way i'll see you tonight and hey...you gonna ask Zoe when she gets back you hear me? Anyway see yah" Russell heared him and Sunil took off for home. Him driving home he looked over to see Fred "Where the hell have you been?". "Oh...you know around watching how your killing it with Russell so far I don't know why I ever needed this job with you"said Fred. Sunil wondered "Then why don't you leave?". Fred has to be there it was more like a back up but maybe it was just to fun to leave right now "So, your drag racing that stud Captain right?" Sunil nodded "Nice, I helped a guy who drag raced back in his youth that. That guy had a heart attack in the bathroom in the 70s poor guy...great singer though". Fred let Sunil "But yeah listen to Pepper Racing is scary shit and understand her being scared". It was like a teacher teaching a teacher easy.
It was almost 7pm the race was at 8pm but Pepper couldn't stop thinking if Sunil got hurt by this or worse. She would be there for him though. She stood outside waiting for him to arrive she looked at her phone to see when he was last online it said 3 hours ago but she also seen a picture of him when he got his car with something underneath it it said "Next time we get the chance I want you in this picture with me". No later he drove up to her road parking so no one could see him. Pepper got on the car then the headed for Baker Road. Atleast the town was quiet that night but so was them. So Sunil tried to start a sing for Pepper "Heart and Soul...oooo i fell in love with you...Heart and Soul ooo the way a foul would do….madning because you held me tight". Then together "Heart and Soul I beg to be a door...yes and I lost control and tumbled overboard madning…that magic night that we kiss…". They both smiled driving along to Baker Road.
The turned onto Baker Road and already seen Captain with lots of pets there to watch. "There you two are I thought you gone chicken on us Sunil" Captain said as they drove pass him to part beside his Mustang. Sunil shut off the car and Captain walked up "Hey how my prize doing Sunil? Hope you haven't gotten bored of him I got a better dinner for you baby hehe". Sunil tried to keep it calm "You leave her out Cap if you keep it up i'll do more than win". Captain couldn't beleive what he just said "Look at you being the big body guard even when I've guarded better just saying…" he grinned at Pepper and him. Captain left to get in his car Pepper turned and grabbed Sunil. She held tight so he hugged her too. "Hey you don't have to be so scared about me everything will be all right I promise okay" he told her. "Okay…" she said to him. "You are so emotional I swear but I understand" Captain watching them decide to call them out "Alright, you two lovebirds you'll get to do all your shit later….Cmon let's race!". Pepper let go and left the car to stand by with the others. Captain started his Mustang with that same grin. Sunil started his Camero but he only cared about the road ahead. They both reved their engines as the small croud got excited except Pepper she stood there so worried about Sunil in that car. Russell was there seeing Pepper so worried so he went up to her "Hey he'll be fine Sunil isn't gonna let him get to him". Once the light turned on both cars screeched the road and drove off. Captain had the lead first as they drove closer to the end Sunil ended up passing Captain at the last 20 feet. Sunil stopped the car way faster than Captain and turned around. Sunil drove back to Pepper and told her they had to leave. It was to late though they heard a loud rev from Captain's Mustang. "I think it's best if you take out those keys" Russell said so Sunil did so. He got out to confront Captain "I'm sorry Cap...but I won so no reason to be so hostile". The Mustang stopped and he got out "It's sad knowing I was trying to prove a point...now you've gone and beat me in the most fun i've had in years...Put her there…" he shaked Sunil's hand. "Wait your not pissed about this?". "Me Pissed? Nah...now I just got like 3,4, or 5 girls I gotta tell I lost but I know they still want me in the end". Sunil had no argument with that so him and Pepper started to leave "One more thing…you better tell me what that's like". Sunil asked "What is what like?" Captain pointed his eyes at Pepper. Sunil sighed "Ohhh you sick fuck. Come on Pepper its late". Captain laughed at them "Hey you got a wrap?" He asked. Sunil yelled "Just shut the hell up Jesus Christ I swear…I'm Sorry" he said and they drove off to home. Sunil apolagized to Pepper so much one the way home for how Captain treated her. "When it comes to things like that im saying no for now. He's just a weird guy but I should kill him for saying things like that. It doesn't only make you feel uncomfortable and im sorry again". Pepper want to say one thing "You I know were smarter and better than that...but if we ever did do that I would want you….to be my first…ohh im sorry that sounds bad". "Oh no...we might as well be straight with each other Pepper but we don't have to talk about right I love you for who you are not only those things but enough of this. We have a dance this Saturday would you like to do that?". "Yeah...it would be our first dance...I love you too".
