Author's Note: Nothing of this belongs to me except the OC's I place here. Everything here is purely a Fan-Fiction from my imagination. I will always take feedback and advice if you wish to give it and I will always consider the advice. This Fiction is based on the movie made in 2013, not the one from 1982. This is a John Harrison (A.K.A. Khan)/OC
Note: I know I have had a few people from the previous Star Trek story asking to make another one, I know I also have a few other requests for seconds of other genres as well, like the Robin Hood fanfiction I have previously done. So, hopefully, this one is up to all of your likings. Wish me luck!
UPDATED TODAY A.S.A.P 11/22/2021 - THANK Y0U TO THE READER WHO INFORMED ME I HAD A MASSIVE ERROR IN THIS CHAPTER! Thank you so very much. It is a very embarrassing error that I was under the assumption that had been corrected. However, it was not! So, thank you for informing me of this error.
My original idea for the story did, in fact, involve Katrina being 4 years old. However, due to math and age situations for when she did grow up still left her too young to even be involved with an adult-like Khan. Therefore, I had changed her age. Sadly I did not fix all of the fixes I had thought I did. So, as of now, I will hope and triple check my work to make sure the ages are correct. So far I have not found it again in the story. Hopefully, there will not be any more age in-corrections.
Chapter 1
Earth – 1996 SS Botany Bay
The injured woman coward in the ship's bay as the Sleeper Ship launched. With her back pressed up against the cryo-stasis pod and her hand pressed against the gushing stab wound in her abdomen, her blood stained the peach-colored silk dress she wore. She'd run in the middle of the night from her brother-in-law's home in the hopes of getting to the Augment's. Their leader had promised her he'd cure her daughter of the Deadly Pneumonia Tuberculosis Plague concoction that they had created. But only if she gave them information, information she would willingly give them if it meant saving her only child. The daughter of her deceased husband. The last thing in her life that she treasured.
"I am disappointed in you, Nessa. My brother should have cut your throat the night he married you." The man snarled. His face was battered and bloody, his clothes were drenched in blood and his eyes looked as if he was a crazy man. "I'll take your treachery as a notion that the little bitch isn't even my niece. Is she!" He shouted accusingly.
Nessa trembled and wept in terror, her daughter was laying and coughing behind her, in the open Cryo-pod trying to gasp for air. Shaking her head to him with disbelief, Nessa held a hand up to him, even though the action wouldn't stop him, she wished it would. "Please, Brent. No one but your brother has ever touched me. They-they said they would give her the cure," Nessa cried from fear of her brother-in-law. Pleading for some form of mercy for her daughter, she was turning sixteen in just a few weeks. But in the end, Nessa knew Brent would give her and her daughter anything but mercy. The man had no sympathy for anyone, nor did he possess the ability to be empathetic. Though, she had been grateful he'd never touched her daughter when he'd come to Nessa in the nights for pleasure over the years.
"Except me, whore." Brent snarled. Remembering the many fun nights that he had with Nessa. She was a very submissive woman. Her fear of him also gave him a form of power over her. And truthfully, Brent had been lucky that she had not grown a spine and fought him back.
"So, you're willing to kill a child that may be your own after admitting to raping your sister-in-law?" A woman snarled with disgust from behind him. Swinging her first out to him, the woman side blinded Brent, grabbing his wrist and twisting the limb, causing the man to shout out in pain. Kicking him at the back of his knee caused Brent's legs to buckle with a grunt.
Struggling to get released from the woman's painful and skilled hold, Brent was forced to drop the dagger, then, in a sudden blink of everyone's eyes, his neck was suddenly snapped. His body fell limp to the bay floor, echoing the hall with a dead thud.
Running to Nessa's side, the woman pressed a hand to her gushing wound and searched for a pulse frantically.
"She's gone, Kati. Leave her." A man said coldly.
A round of nasty coughing came from the opened cryo-pod. The tiny and young teenager curled up inside the cushioned pod looked so sickly it was almost inhuman. Her powder blue silk nightdress was long against her sickly slim frame, likely from the weight loss caused by the disease. The long length of her nightdress allowed her to curl her small legs and little toes under the dresses light fabric as she shivered, trying to stay warm as she wheezed, her long sleeves were comfortable against her arms, but the fabric was not thick enough to keep the girl warm in the least. Her skin was pale, sickly white, and almost blue from the lack of ability to breathe, and the fever was getting worse, making everything more difficult for the girl.
As they listened to her wheezing lungs, they noticed the blood sputtering out onto the white cushions. It was a thick, black-red clot of blood that began to ooze from her mouth, almost choking her.
Rushing to the girl, Kati helped her roll onto her belly and eased her upright for her to lean forward on her hands and knee as she coughed and vomited up the thick clot of infected blood.
"Dear gods above. She should be dead by now. It's never gotten this bad with any of the humans." A man said with shock. His dark brown hair was short, allowing everyone to see his handsome face full of fear for the girl, and wondered if other children had suffered as much as this, or worse. While he did not like humans, detested them in fact, but the suffering of a child at this severe level was just sickening to him. He felt like a monster knowing a mother had died thinking her daughter could be saved, that they, their leader even had told the woman, had a cure for her daughter if she told them how to kill her own people.
"Her mother is dead. Put the girl out of her misery, Kati." The first man said. With his dark hair smoothed back, his face was cold and void of any emotion. After watching their people die a brutal death, this man was cold and hateful towards the humans. Even a dying human girl would not stir him. Or so that had been his determined thoughts until she began to have difficulty vomiting up the nasty clot of thick, oozing blood. Seeing her face turn bluer from the lack of oxygen and her poisoned blood, it was the fear he could see on her face that he stepped forward, and with one swift and firm pat to her back, she returned to vomiting and bloody coughing fits.
Her wheezing began once more, her mouth and her blue nightdress now covered in blood. Exhausted and unable to breathe, the girl fell forward, her long blonde curls falling into the now blood-soaked pad of the Pod. She'd expected to fall face-first into the nasty gooey, infected blood in front of her, however, the ends of her blonde hair had been the only thing that had touched the pool of slimy goo as she was lifted into strong arms and held against a warm body which she clung to with weak hands, desperate to not be alone. She was scared, but she hadn't the strength to cry, only the strength to let the tears fall back to her temples and into her hair.
They watched with some confusion as their Leader swept the girl up into his arms and began to leave the bay. They were confused. He'd just told Kati to put her out of her misery.
Following after him, Kati looked to the dark-haired man walking beside her, "Joaquin -"
"Don't ask me, ask him," Joaquin replied. His eyes hadn't left the retreating man's back.
Taking a heavy breath, Kati rushed up close behind the man's heels, "Khan,"
"Do not question me, Kati," Khan said coldly as he swiftly walked down the halls, the girl tucked in his arms close to his chest, she just barely seventeen from the looks of her. Her small blood-soaked hand weakly clutching his shirt as he made his way with her, her eyes weakly closed trying to gather sleep. "Inform Linn he is needed in the medical wing. She needs treatments."
"Treatments?" Kati asked with confusion, her blue eyes shined with worry as she looked at the child, a teenage girl, her eyes closed but the soft wheezing of her breathing told them that she was still alive. "Khan, we never made a cure for this," Kati told him, softly.
Stopping in his walk, Khan turned his eyes to the woman with a heated glare. "Then we attempt to use our blood. If our platelets multiply faster than the normal human body, then maybe, just maybe, our platelets injected into her body will create antibodies for this disease." He ordered with a thought. He wasn't sure, but he figured it was worth a shot. While he hated humans and thought lowly of them, this child, a teenaged girl, had survived much longer than most. She was strong.
Entering the small medical wing, Khan set the girl upon the bed and began his exams of the girl before Linn came in and examined the girl for some time before handing her over to Linn's care. The Augment Doctor had tried what he could after hooking her up to the monitors and injecting her with their blood cells, Linn sighed at the results he continued to get from the machines. Even with adding their blood through an IV for her, there were no changes in the hour that they should have seen much sooner by now. "Her body is decaying, Khan. There's no saving the girl. The best we can do for her is to let her suffering end. Her heart is already trying to stop, her lungs are turning into liquid, there is no stopping this."
His fists clutched the beds' edge before grinding his teeth in silence. "… Very well. Get in the pods. I will handle the cleanup." Khan said with a sigh, watching Linn unhook the girl from the monitors and IV as they all nodded and regretfully agreed and left their leader alone with the dying girl. His eyes glanced to her still chest, the lack of her wheezing for breath had his heart falling. In that one moment, Khan felt like the monster the humans had called him. Lowering his head with a sigh, Khan cupped her cheek in hand, his eyes downcast before closing them to leave a prayer upon her. "I have no apology that l could offer you now… But l am sorry you suffered like this."
The sudden touch to his wrist by a small, cold hand had his eyes snapping open with shock. Looking down at the girl, his eyes wide with disbelief. "How -"
'She's alive!'
She tried saying something to him, but her voice wouldn't work as she blinked back the tears in her big blue eyes, eyes that he swore had flex of darker blue in them. Something he knew had not been there when he'd seen her just a few hours ago in the bay. With his heart thudding, Khan hooked her back up to the monitors before rushing from her side and grabbed a secondary bag and a set of IVs to do a quick, and rather dangerous, form of a transfusion. Hooking up the bag and IVs, he then carefully glided the needle into her arm. He ignore her choked whimper at the pain of the needle going in her arm as he set the needle with medical tape and a ball of gauze before sliding his IV into his own arm and glanced to the monitor's then over to her as she rolled her head away from his direction, her eyes closing tiredly.
The second the heart monitor began flat-lining, Khan looked from her to the monitor with disbelief. "No, you are not dying now. Not after you woke up." Grabbing the Defibrillator, Khan growled as he removed his needle, not wishing to be shocked through the IV, and shocked her. He waited for her heart to start back up. Waiting a few more seconds, his heart skipped with hope at the first few beeps of the monitor starting back up. Seeing how weak it was, Khan unhooked her after getting as much of his blood into her body but not wishing to waste any more time than he had already, he rushed her to the bay and grabbed a thermal blanket, and placed it over the blood-soaked pad of the bedding and carefully placed her in the pod, activating it quickly. He watched with some hope as the pod activated, her body now froze in stasis, Khan sighed and typed in an order with the computer system to keep the ship locked. But as he set himself into cryo-sleep and the days ticked on, a glitch in the system occurred that would change their fates.

Two-hundred and forty-five years later the bay doors opened, rather than reaming locked, the cryo-pod was sucked out, taking the teenager the decaying bones of her mother into open space, taking her further and further away from the SS Botany Bay Ship.

Nine years later, her pod was picked up by a Federation ship and put in a sealed quarantine room until they had returned to Earth, where she remained in the hospital for intense treatments. The girl had been labeled a Jane Doe until she could wake up. With her body severely damaged by the disease she had before she was frozen the Doctors decided it was best to induce her into a coma. The Medical professionals were shocked by her rapid recovery from their treatments. Especially after being frozen then unfrozen. There had been a huge possibility they may have lost her.
After a few months of being cleared from the strange Plague, the girl woke up from her coma and was understandably scared, confused, and nonverbal with them. Her deep, arctic blue eyes were big and adorable, she was nearly irresistible to avoid looking at. She had simply blinked at them with her big, cute eyes as the Doctors tested her nervous system, reflexes, hand-eye coordination, her pupils, and eyesight. All seeming perfectly fine. They were truly struck by her recovery.
A captain, Christopher Pike, had come to visit her frequently. As well as the Admiral, Alexander Marcus, and his daughter.
Pike had soon asked about adoption for the girl after she had spent almost fifteen months in the hospital. But, the hospital had clarified that if she did not give them a name or remember anything of her life, that she would be unable to leave. It was then they had learned her name. "Katrina Nesryn," she told them, however, it was not her real name, and she had clarified that because, "Why know my real name when we clearly already know I am an orphan without a thought to the years that have obviously gone by, adding to the simple facts that I am in your database. Is an orphan not allowed to have a fresh start? A new name?" She answered sadly, though honestly, she had a point. Even looking back in their history files, her blood and DNA did not match anyone in their system, not even the girl knew why that had been the case, she had offered the thought that maybe the illness had mutated her DNA to a minimal degree? It wasn't impossible with the symptoms she had described suffering from. But the doctors had told her that her body was in full health. Her lungs were strong, her bones were how they should be, they'd used the word, 'Perfect' for her health. However, since the moment of Carol, being fifteen herself at the time, the two had been close since then. They had grown together almost like sisters would have as the years moved forward. Always talking and hanging out when they could, mostly during summer when Carol came back from London to visit her father since her parents were divorced. There was not a night that those two did not talk on the view screen.
Over the years, Katrina had grown up, still close with Carol. One, wanting to go into science engineering, the other having already chosen to go through her Nursing Degree as a Medical Officer in Starfleet. The two still called and video chatted and went out when they were in the same location, having the times of their young and innocent lives.
But nothing lasted forever. Innocence would fade, knowledge would grow, friends would be lost, and new ones made, and hearts broken and mended. It was only the question of when it happened.
Katrina had graduated high school in 2251, attending Nursing school from '51 and graduated in 2257 and did her six months of residency in the Starfleet hospital, until that year of 2258
StarDate: 2258
Katrina watched with the other Nurses and Doctors as she worked, it was the last six months of her internship. However, the News anchors were reporting that Vulcan had been destroyed.
The News was reporting the aftermath of a stray Romulan crew who had been responsible. It was terrible. Her heart ached for those lost, worst were the survivors who had to suffer feeling the loss of their people and loved ones that had been on the planet. Katrina's eyes glanced to one of her Vulcan classmates, top of her class, brilliant in so many measures. Katrina's heart broke for the female. But to her added fears, the Enterprise, her father's Ship, was the one currently handling the situation.
Hearing word from Starfleet hospital that her father had been injured, Katrina had rushed to the hospital. That had been her first time meeting James T. Kirk and the few members of her father's new crew members stationed on the bridge. She found out quickly that Jim Kirk was a playful and rather charming man, however, he was a playboy. Although, and thankfully, the charming man had not attempted flirting with her. However, that had not stopped the charming Doctor McCoy. The two spent a lot of time together as acquaintances and eventually became friends, but never had she let it step across the friendship lines, even when the good Doctor flirted, it made her smile and she felt beautiful, and he was a fantastic dance partner when they went out as a group, as well as a magnificent doctor. Katrina had even become close with Uhura over the months. The two had so much fun, going on little trips to hike, shopping sprees, they'd go to a few parties together. Uhura would even help Katrina study when Doctor McCoy could not.
However, with Christopher Pike retiring from the Captains' Chair, due to being given a promotion from Captain to Admiral, Kirk had been given the Enterprise as well as the Rank of Captain. Honestly, Katrina had been shocked. "But what about Spock?" she asked her father curiously. She had liked Spock, though he was a bit…. too serious a lot of the time. But he was nice, very logical, though she did try to avoid talking about a lot of things with him when it came to facts, he was a bit of a smarty-pants, and she did try her best to refrain from getting into any form of argument and fact debates. She'd have lost either way.
Smiling, Chris looked to his daughter, studying her curiosity, "Commander Spock is still retaining his rank. Nothing has changed…" Pike told his daughter nonchalantly, but her silence and her curiosity about his previous First office now had Pike curious himself about her asking. Sighing, Pike set his stylist pen aside and looked up to his daughter from his work on his desk. "Why so curious Kit?" He asked with a grinning smile, assuming he knew why she was asking.
Shrugging to her father, Katrina took a comfortable seat in one of his guests' seats.
Smiling wide with some amusement, Christopher sat forward in his chair, pulling a letter from his desk. "I got a letter from Admiral Marcus this morning. He's offering you a medical position. I guess one of his special projects has been having a lot of accidents lately. He wants you as one of his special medical technicians." Chris told her with a smile, beaming her the electronic letter he smiled when she squealed with happiness and excitement then quickly dialed her father's best friend and accepted the job offer.
"I'll be on the plane tomorrow! Thank you, Uncle Alex! I love you too, give Carol kisses for me. Okay, bye!" She shouted with excitement. With it being her uncle, Chris knew Alex never cared if she was a little over the top, he loved her no matter what. Christopher Pike did as well. Chris loved every moment he'd had with his daughter. The school plays, to music festivals to her graduating to her first crush, first heartbreak then came his worst nightmares. The boyfriend. From his proudest moments of her graduating high school to her most recent achievement, college, and now a job at a high-security facility with her second favorite Starfleet officer, her uncle, Admiral Alexander Marcus.
Chris smiled with a soft laugh as Katrina rushed over to him and hugged him, returning her big hug and kissing her cheek, "So, where are you going?" He asked.
"Uncle Alex said there's a ticket already at the airport for me, it'll take me to London, and someone will pick me up there. I'll get as much packed tonight and see if a few of my friends would like to use my apartment while I'm away, that way it's still occupied and I don't have to get rid of anything, they can send my things as I settle in London." She told her father with excitement.
Chris couldn't help but feel somewhat uneasy about her leaving tomorrow after such short notice. He couldn't help but question why Marcus would have her leave so soon, and there were only seven hours left until her flight in the morning. But as he'd thought of this, Katrina was already running from his office and dialing her closest friend, other than Carol who was more like her sister.
Katrina yawned with exhaustion then smiled as she walked into her new apartment with her medium-sized carry-on and her large suitcase. She had clothing in her medium-sized bag for one week plus the majority of her electronics while her large suitcase carried everything else, including toiletries. Her first day on the job was a night shift. A quiet night where she'd learn on the job with less noise. Something she was grateful for. For a spare few minutes, she pulled her uniform from her bag and set everything up for her to get ready in about seven hours. She'd have enough time to get at least five hours of sleep before her first night on the job.
Kelvin Memorial Archives
Katrina smiled wide with excitement as she walked into the Starfleet Archives, curious as to how the number of people could have possibly gotten hurt while working here. Her confusion washed away as she saw her uncle walking towards her with a man behind him, his dark hair was slicked back nicely, his posture was incredible, and his body looked very strong, likely one of the men on his detail. She'd opened her mouth to call for her uncle, then realized this was work and he was still an Admiral. Toning down her excitement, she cleared her throat and nodded in respect to him and the man walking with him, she felt that maybe this man wouldn't know who she was to the Admiral as they both casually walked towards her own casual walking self, she felt so girlishly giddy. But she contained herself as best she could as the three of them finally came to a full approach. "Admiral Marcus," Katrina said with a smile. She broke out into a small round of laughter when he smiled so wide and began to laugh himself and pulled her into a hug.
Smiling with happiness that she had come, Alexander Marcus kissed her cheek with welcome, "Hello my dear girl. I am so glad you came." He said, looking her over for a moment, he sighed before turning her to Khan, who he'd brought up with him to collect her. With his hands on her arms and Katrina in front of him for the two of them to face one another, Marcus smiled with mischief at the man. "Katrina, this is Commander John Harrison, one of the most brilliant Engineers here. John, this is my dear friend's daughter, Katrina Pike, she's as much my daughter as she is Chris's. She was about fifteen years old when we found her, abandoned and alone, floating around in space for no one knows how long. Who'd have thought of such a thing to happen to a child." Marcus said with a smile.
Khan felt his heart leap with disbelief as his bright blue eyes stared at the young woman. 'That not possible,'
