It was a calm, nice night. Marinette was snoring peacefully, next to Adrien, under the covers. But suddenly he woke up to a horrible feeling. He was breathing heavily. His heart was beating so fast against his chest. Trembling, Adrien held on tight to his lady. The young blond remembered the dream, it was actually a nightmare, worse than that, a memory from the past. His mother, motionless, stone cold, dead inside a coffin that had always been hidden under his own house. His father showing his secret identity out of the blue. He was his feared enemy, Shadow Moth, he threw a hideous black butterfly right at him, ready to corrupt him, to make him evil. It was such a sick situation, specially when Adrien, terrified, looked at the adult, begging "No, no!" But it was hopeless. He tried to resist, he thought of his sweet little bug, awaiting him at the movies. He thought of the kiss they would never get to share and then his skin turned an awful, unnatural purple. He had been akumatized, he was, once more, under his father's control, who would force him to betray his Ladybug.
He was going to forget about the whole situation, including the moment when the two lovebirds revealed their identities to each other. Their love used to be doomed, and it stayed like that for years.
Sighing, Adrien cried to his hands. He couldn't help it. He had just relived all that madness.
Marinette's eyes fluttered open.
(Is he... crying?) The thought pierced trough her heart.
"Hey, little prince" She said, half asleep.
"Marinette, M'lady, I didn't mean to wake you up, I'm sorry" He said between sobs.
She wrapped him in her arms.
"It's okay, don't worry about it. Now, tell me, what's wrong, Adrien?" Marinette turned round, so they were face to face and tenderly caressed his cheek, making him smile slightly.
"Nothing, I'm fine" She shook her head.
"You can't fool your lady, kitty. I know you well enough. Let me guess... A nightmare?" He nodded.
"Do you want to talk about it, mon amour?"
"I, I don't know. You won't like it"
"Just let everything out. It will help you"
"Okay, okay. I... I dreamed of the past, when my father, when he was alive, you know, when he showed me he was Shadow Moth and, and mom was there, I was so scared and I, I thought of our date and everything, I tried to escape, but there was n-no way and then our memories got erased and I lost you and, and..." Marinette, deeply moved, hugged Adrien again.
"There, there. It was just a nightmare, kitty, I'm here"
"But Marinette, that, you know it happened..."
"But we got over it, baby, now we're free, you're free and our life is different, less heroic or chaotic" She said, breaking the hug.
"Yeah, I know. I'm so glad you're with me. Let's, let's go back to sleep"
"Okay"
Marinette turned her back to him and lied her head on the pillow.
"Er, Marinette?" His voice called her when she was about to fall asleep.
"Hmm?"
"I know they were evil and, and so hard on me, but sometimes... I really do miss them"
The girl turned her face to him once more, every trace of sleepiness suddenly disappearing.
"Of course you miss them, honey, they were your parents" Marinette kissed Adrien's forehead. He sighed.
"They were the only family I had" He said sadly, his eyes getting teary.
"But now you have me" Marinette kissed tears away from his face.
"That's true. It took years" He lamented. "But I finally have my lady by my side"
She smiled at that.
"And your lady will always be here to protect..." She kissed the tip of his nose, making him laugh a little. "To comfort..." Marinette brushed her lips against his, slowly, softly.
"To spoil you" She added, biting on Adrien's lower lip. He let out a weak moan and blushed a lot.
"You're so adorable. I love you" Marinette kissed him again, closing her eyes and tilting her head. He was returning the kiss when she put a hand under his shirt.
"M-my lady!" She smiled sheepishly.
"Come on, my little prince, I'll make you forget everything about that nightmare"
"You're amazing"
"I'm your girl, so I must be" Marinette wasn't a shy highschooler anymore. She kissed her boy deeply, parting his lips with her tongue, letting it play in his mouth.
"Ah, Marinette, I love you so much"
He said, between kisses.
The morning found the two lovers fast asleep, still holding each other.
Adrien woke up first, and he pressed his mouth to Marinette's, who opened her eyes and blushed.
"Geez, this is not a "good morning" it's a great morning" She said.
"Surely it is. Thanks, er, you know, thanks for last night" They were both blushing.
"Anytime, kitty. It's always love making pleasure to you. I mean, it's lovely, no, dang!" He chuckled, feeling happy.
"There's my sweet, stammering Marinette" He kissed her on the forehead and got up from bed.
"Hey, Bugaboo, would you do me a favour?" Called Adrien from the bathroom door, a towel around his waist.
Marinette's eyes opened wide with the view.
"Su-sure thing, Buttercup, what do you need?"
He gave her a cheeky, Chat Noir smirk.
"You" He said with a clear intention. His wife turned tomato red, but smiled back.
