A/N:

Hey guys, sorry for not posting anything in a really long time, school got in the way and it didn't really leave me any time to write much.

I've had this mostly written for a while really I just needed to polish it up. So hope you guys like it. (Honestly I'm just trying to get out of this rut I'm in with writing).

This may not be completly accurate with 'Cave The Date' it's been a really long time since I have seen Henry Danger but I found this in my drafts and just decided to post it so it may not flow that well but whatever.

Also, I only really have this story and one other one left in my WIPs I kinda have run out of ideas of what to write for Chenry. (If you guys have ideas, maybe (I can't promise anything) I could write it.)

She chose him.

The boy she's claimed to have mentioned many times before, but he can't quite recall.

He's pretty sure he would have remembered Charlotte mentioning some guy she's seeing.

She brings up three different occasions that she's mentioned him. One time during truth or flare (turns out he's her first kiss), another time while they were at his house and he texted her (he now remembers asking her about it, but decided to ignore it once she said the guys name. He didn't want to think about Charlotte with another guy), and earlier that day at the Man Cave when they went to her house and blew up her kitchen.

He saw the look on Charlotte's face and how upset she was over the fact that she wasn't going to be able to cook for her date.

Turns out his name is Jack Swagger, yeah sure his name sounded cool but he was probably lame. Henry knew for a fact that he didn't deserve Charlotte. Not that he deserved her either but he wasn't talking about himself right now.

So Jasper suggested they turn the Man Cave into a fake restaurant to help Charlotte out. It was their fault, anyways, so that was the least they could do for her. Henry didn't like seeing her upset. But he wasn't too happy about the idea of her going out on a date with a Mcnobody that he didn't know.

He's actually a famous international singer, apparently. But he's never heard of him though, so he can't be that famous.

And anyways with the fake restaurant down here, he can watch over their date to make sure that Jack is treating Charlotte right. Like she deserves and if it all goes up in flames, (the date not the Man Cave) then he can just swoop right in and help Charlotte feel better like the best friend that he is.

Of course things go smoothly, Schwoz is cooking the food, Henry is the waiter and Jasper is upstairs being the Host. Charlotte and her date came down and Henry showed them to their table that was reserved, mostly as a vantage point where he could spy on them discreetly while in the back.

It was all going good so far. Up until Piper decided to post a photo on Envygram that revealed there was a secret underground restaurant at Junk n Stuff.

That's when everything went up in flames, metaphorically. Almost literally because Ray kept lighting up flares, seriously where was he getting them from. Henry had to confiscate like 5 from him.

He knows that he's being a bit pushy with wanting everything to be perfect, but this is for Charlotte. And that alone is enough of a reason for his hystericalness. Even though he wished he was the one on the date with Charlotte, he wants to make up for his inattentiveness. Yeah, he's aware that he could pay a little more attention to Charlotte, but she was really distracting and sometimes it was hard to focus. But that was no excuse for his recent behavior.

She never really expected to choose him.

He wasn't her first choice but she guesses he'll do. For now.

She had been single for all of 18 years of her life. Not that it had bothered her. It was her choice not to pursue a relationship with anyone. Not that she had found anyone to pique her interest. (Well there was one, actually still is one but she's not talking about him right now.)

He was her first kiss so if she thought about it long enough maybe it did make sense for her to be her first, well, anything at this point.

She's known Jack just about as long as Henry and Jasper. She met him at summer camp 10 years ago, and they've kept contact with each other over the years.

So she goes on her first date with him. It was at a restaurant under a fake laundromat. It was nice and simple and private because of his superstar status they couldn't just go anywhere. (He didn't necessarily tell her to keep their relationship a secret, but Charlotte knew not to advertise it everywhere.) But she wasn't too worried about it; she had another secret to keep hidden, anyways. And she was way better at keeping that secret than other people.

After the very first date, Henry asks her where she went, she doesn't exactly tell him. Even though she knows he knows of Jack Swagger, she's mentioned him before. But apparently when she says his name Henry doesn't know who she's talking about. She doesn't care to explain anything to him. If he doesn't care enough to pay attention to her then she shouldn't have to explain herself to him.

Jack takes her on another date, she has a great time, just like she expects. But she kinda was not feeling the whole romantic things she was really going for when she initiated this relationship. Well he asked her out first but she agreed to see if something would come out of it.

They've kissed a few times and she is still waiting to feel the sparks that are seen in the movies. He's not a bad kisser by any means, but it's not what she wants. Not who she wants.

Charlotte has kinda given up on trying to get Henry's attention. Not that she really has it anyways, he rarely pays attention to her or listens to what she says. So these feelings she has for him are something that will surely go away. She's sure of it. Even though it's been a few years since she realized she may feel something more for her blonde friend, and her feelings are still present. Which is why she's convinced that in a few more years her feelings will totally fade. She hopes.

So when she sent the guys to her house for her phone charger, she didn't want to go herself because the guys were going out and she thought she could get some reading done. (Because Ray hates any nerdy stuff down in the Man Cave.) And she and Schwoz sometimes need a break from them, they are a handful to deal with on a daily basis.

So when they come through the elevator, all dirty with ash and soot they tell her they accidentally lit her kitchen on fire. She's ready to jump all of them.

She doesn't even know why it surprises her because they always do this to her. Always.

"It's called Füd," she answered.

"Food?" Jack scoffed. "That's dumb."

"Is it?" Henry asked. "What if I told you it's spelled food with a u and two dots over it." He explained as he handed Jack the menu.

Jack grabbed it and nodded his head. "See now that's cool. Food spelled with a u and two dots over it."

They both laughed at the joke like it was hilarious. It really wasn't. Charlotte was ready for Henry to leave them to their date but he wasn't leaving yet.

"Yeah, this guy gets it," Henry replied to Jack's comment. "This guy gets it."

She gave him a pointed look and finally left.

Something was off about his tone. Charlotte couldn't quite place it. Henry was usually a friendly guy. But the way she had to shoo him off after he tried to be funny. He seemed reluctant to go.

After that rocky start everything was going good. They ordered their food, their drinks were filled and the conversation between them was easy going. It was perfect.

"This place is great. It's so private."

Charlotte smiled at him. "I know. It's annoying how everyone stares at you everywhere you go." She tried to keep the bitterness in her voice to herself. He didn't seem to pick up on it. And don't get her wrong. She understands that him being an international superstar was going to cause some complications if she started a relationship.

And she doesn't blame him for it either. It's not his fault that he's loved by his fans and they all want a piece of him. She gets it, but she wished things weren't like this. That she could see him more often, and go out without having to hide their relationship so he doesn't get mobbed.

"It's so nice down here. Just the two of us," he said thoughtfully. He was looking at her like every girl wants to be looked at with complete adoration. He was focused on her. It was at times like this that she would forget who he was and who she was and it was just the two of them. Just Jack and Charlotte. She felt like she was floating.

"And those three guys over there."

What? Her smile faded, Charlotte turned in her chair and he was right. There were Henry, Ray and Schwoz just standing there. Being creepy. Seriously, did they have to do that?

"Uhh don't you guys have to go cook our dinner or something." She says trying to get them to stop being weird.

They of course didn't have anything better to do because everything was in the oven just cooking so they were passing the time trying to ruin her date.

They walk out of the restaurant, standing in front of Junk n Stuff. This whole night was a disaster and it was the guys fault like always. All she wanted was a nice romantic dinner date and she couldn't even have that. Why did she even agree to this plan? She should've known things weren't going to go right. They rarely ever do.

She looks up at Jack, he's probably ready to cut all ties with her, she wouldn't blame him if he did. This night was supposed to be kinda the introduction of Jack into her life so he could finally meet the other half of her life. Not completely, of course, just enough so she doesn't feel like she's hiding something. She should've just kept Jack far away from that, just like she had planned.

"So, him, huh?" Jack says.

Charlotte furrows her eyebrows, confused. "What?"

"The Henry guy who's your friend, and your feelings for him."

Charlotte starts to shake her head. Oh no. Now he's going to think she likes Henry.

"Jack, I-"

"He likes you, you know."

She lets out a laugh. "No, he doesn't." She decides there's no point in hiding it. If Jack came to this conclusion, it means she's not as good as she thought at concealing her feelings.

"Mm, yes he does," he interjects. "I saw the way he was looking at you all night. Trust me he likes you."

"Jack," she breathed out. She felt so ashamed. He probably thinks she was just using him.

"I mean can you really blame him?" He said. "You are an amazing girl Charlotte, it's hard not to like you."

"I'm sorry."

He shakes his head. "You don't need to apologize. You did nothing wrong."

"I was not using you. I really wanted this to work."

"I know you did, and I wanted this to work too. But I know your heart's not in it."

She looked down at her shoes. This was not how this night was supposed to end. They were supposed to make their relationship official tonight. They were not supposed to be breaking up. They had only been on three dates so far. But the first two didn't end like this.

"I'm sorry," she apologizes again.

"You should talk to him," he suggests.

"I don't want you to hate me."

He chuckles. "I could never hate you, Charlotte."

He leans down and kisses her cheek.

She closed her eyes as his lips pressed against her. Trying to find that feeling she's been longing to feel with him, but it's not there no matter how much she wishes it was.

He's perfect, just what she wants, just what she needs. But she can't keep pretending. Jack's right, her heart isn't into this relationship. Because the one she really wants isn't him.

It's Henry. It's always been him.

She opens her eyes as he pulls away. Charlotte gives him a sad smile. Finally accepting that letting him go is what's best for them. For him.

"If things don't work out you have my number." He said with a wink before he walked away and into the limo that had just pulled up from down the street.

She smiled, he always knew how to cheer her up. He was an easy going guy. And she was glad that there weren't any hard feelings between them. Not after this whole fiasco.

Charlotte turned to walk back into Junk n Stuff. She was sure that the guys would need help cleaning up especially after Tony the hawk made an appearance.

But then she thought better of it. They could deal with that themselves, it's what they deserve anyways. She walked home instead. And the talking with Henry thing could wait.
