Kyoko knew she had a tendency to be easily obsessed. She was a bonafide perfectionist and was never the type to quit when there was room for improvement. Hence the doll collection. What started out as a way to curse people soon became its own thing. And like any true obsession she couldn't resist making more.
Over the past year and a half she managed to greatly improve the quality of her creations. From the clothing, to the facial expressions her dolls were almost perfect miniatures of the people they represented, capable of being given as worthwhile gifts for precocious little girls. Of course the only little girl she ever planned on giving one to was Maria. Her imouto seemed perfectly happy with her gift and was even willing to pay for a defective one. Briefly, she considered selling her dolls online. A second stream of revenue would surely help her pay her bills. But the thought of some deranged fan having the ability to control her senpai with voodoo was a definite turn off. She'd have to purify them all first and even then she didn't like the thought of other people playing with them.
Speaking of her senpai, you could almost track the progress of their relationship alongside the quality of his dolls. Gone were the days of using magazine cut outs as reference material, she had gotten close enough to measure all his measurements in detail. Instead of torturing them for bullying her, Kyoko used the dolls for chastisement and outlet for her worries. Of course nothing beats the original. Tsuruga Ren was the golden ratio of human proportions and the acting bible she swore her skills by. Two things she selfishly exploited for her benefit.
Speaking of exploitation, Kyoko's eyes landed on a ratty cockroach doll of her greatest enemy Shotaro. The baka had made use of her plenty of times and now it was his turn to be used to satisfy her anger. She hadn't made a Sho doll in a long time as she had better use of her time than screaming about revenge. She wanted to be an actress for her own sake. She couldn't let Baka-Sho ruin things for her. She still despised him of course but she had come a long way from all consuming hatred. A lot of his dolls were battered and abused and no way in hell was she willing to sell a defective product. Besides he was her prey, no one else was allowed to make him feel pain. Briefly she paused to remember his last visit to the Darumaya, how she was able to laugh at him despite his outrageous behavior. He really was a brat for ruining things, she couldn't wait for his parents to visit and scold him.
In the midst of her daydreaming, she brushed over the doll's blond hair. She'd been contemplating making a Corn doll for a while now. One that combined her childhood memories with their recent meeting in Guam. She wondered if fairies were affected by voodoo or if their blood gave them protection from malicious magic. She wondered if Tsuruga's fairy blood protected him too. That would explain why her previous tormenting hadn't work. Still she was conflicted, Corn had said he was only borrowing Tsuruga's body to walk around in the human world so she wasn't technically making a copy of his true form. On the other hand, she hadn't seen his fairy form in years and she wasn't confident in her ability to recreate it. Without her corn stone she wanted some reminder of their time together. Not that she was regretted giving it to Tsuruga-san. The necklace he gave her was beyond anything she could imagine even at the cost of her fairy stone. Undecided Kyoko decided to pack her dolls and crafting supplies away. Still she couldn't help but think it would be nice to see Corn again, maybe next time he won't have to leave so soon.
Flowers fade, the fruits of summer fade
They have their season so do we
But please promise me that sometimes
You will think of me
Authors Note: Hope you like this one shot. I can't be the only one mad at Corn for not confessing the truth to Kyoko in Guam. At this rate he has the chance to hurt her even more than Sho did. And then what would happen to the Love ME #1? Still it's been a while since we've seen her with her dolls. I can't help but see the lack of them as a sign of her improving mood since she only really uses them when she's mad. Then again she is an obsessed perfectionist so who knows. Till next time :)
