DAILY PROPHET
POTTER - SAVIOR OF THE WIZARDING WORLD
Harry Potter (born July 31st 1980) has always been special for being the first person to ever survive the killing curse at the tender age of one, ultimately banishing He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named for thirteen years. Now, he is known as the boy who defeated the darkest wizard of all time since Grindelwald himself .
According to eyewitnesses, Potter defeated He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named in the early hours of yesterday morning using his signature disarming spell after the battle that took place at Hogwarts. Rumors are that he survived another killing curse and returned from the dead. Potter had been on the run for the past year with fellow friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger (refer article on page 5) and the trio, apparently under Albus Dumbledore's (late Headmaster of Hogwarts) wishes, executed his plan to thwart You-Know-Who yet again.
"I had help from my friends, I couldn't have done anything without them." Says Potter simply before leaving when reporters peppered him with questions. "Harry was very brave, I suspect he finally cleared the excess of nargles that were always following him." Says fellow student, Luna Lovegood, who was the co-leader along with Ginny Weasley (only sister of Ron Weasley) and Neville Longbottom for the resistance known as Dumbledore's Army (more on page 6) formed originally by Potter in 1995.
Many lives were lost and many families were torn apart during this struggle. Members of the Order of Phoenix (details on page 4) like Remus (werewolf, Member of OOP and former DADA Professor at Hogwarts) and Nymphadora Lupin were killed, leaving their one month old son (godson of Harry Potter) Ted Lupin an orphan. There were many losses among students too, Fred Weasley (co-founder of successful joke shop Weasley Wizard Wheezes along with twin, George Weasley), Colin Creevey were one of many (detailed death list on page 7) to perish in the battle.
Severus Snape (refer article by Rita Skeeter on page 8), previous Headmaster, known Death Eater and accused of the death of Albus Dumbledore also died at the hand of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Harry Potter himself cleared his name, stating that Snape was a spy, secretly working for Dumbledore since the death of Lily and James Potter. He had sacrificed himself for the greater good and apparently died a hero's death.
Potter also proceeded to clear the name of the Malfoys as Narcissa Malfoy had apparently helped him by lying to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named for Harry to win. Yet, since Lucius Malfoy was a known Death Eater with a criminal record, he has been subjected to a year's worth of jail time by the newly stated Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. Many of the other Death Eaters have been captured, while those under the Imperius Curse have returned to their normal selves.
Potter, Weasley and Granger (article is to be published by Rita Skeeter on the friendship and alliance of the 'Golden Trio' as they have become popularly known) have kept to themselves and have refused to reveal any details regarding their time on the run. Their friends have also respected their wishes and have refused to say anything. "It wasn't a picnic, mate. I'd rather not talk about it." Was the only statement given by Ron Weasley when reporters cornered him. "Leave them alone! They've been through enough without you pestering them!" Says his sister, Ginny Weasley (more on page 6) as she sent a Bat-Bogey hex on the unfortunate reporter. "We lost a lot of brave people in our struggle for a better world and we will make sure they aren't forgotten. Now please give our students the privacy they deserve before I transfigure you into a toad." Says Minerva McGonagall, current Headmistress of Hogwarts.
In conclusion, the victory against this evil is a bittersweet occasion that has brought happiness and despair at the same time. Yet, a new chapter has begun. A fresh page and a new dawn. All thanks to the Boy-who-lived and his friends. Again.
The book 'The Tale of the Chosen One' by Rita Skeeter will be available at Flourish and Blotts by next month.
Author's Note: I don't own Harry Potter or any of the characters in this story. I will be publishing more 'articles' like this in due course. Feedback would be great.
