Scarlet Frost Introduction

Greeting's readers! This story picks up where the movie Crimson Winter left off. Crimson Winter written and Directed by Bryan Ferriter along with Nathan Mills and Ryan Pfeiffer; the IMDB database has the summary of the movie plot as follows:

"For centuries now, vampires have been forced to live in the shadows. Elric, a prince of these highly evolved creatures of the night, falls in love with a human - the very race that pushed his people into myth. This is an intolerable offense to the royal family and Elric is imprisoned for a century until a group of loyalists battle to free him from his dark cell. Together they escape to the remote mountainous terrain of North America where they begin building an army to exact revenge upon his family. A century later, in the frozen heart of winter, a group of researchers sets out to investigate a mysterious decline in the local wildlife population. Their journey takes them deep into the isolated mountain wilderness where they soon discover a terrifying truth and find themselves caught between two foes in a centuries-old battle between vampires and hunters. As they struggle to survive, they come face to face with the vampire prince, Elric, who is haunted by his own dark past. An ancient prophecy and his own anguished heart weigh heavily upon him as the vampire lord decide the fate of those who have discovered his hidden sanctum."

Now in the movie itself the pacing was a bit off for me, but the story hooked me instantly despite the flaws in storytelling. This movie was to be part of a trilogy but due to unforeseen issues that is not to be. Sadly, I do not know if there was ever a script for the second two stories, thus I hope to endeavor to answer that with my own bit of fanfiction. Please enjoy this story! The movie ends with Dylan, a newly turned vampire running through the Beartooth one of the last wild and mostly unexplored parts of the Montana's Elkhorn wilderness. Elric, the exiled vampire prince watches his newest recruit flee before him but does not allow his most vicious sergeant, Guiscard to follow. The snow was heavy on the ground but despite the stark sunlight, Elric knew a storm was brewing. He watched the young one flounder through the trees and rocks. They were far from any human reach especially now that the hunters were dead. Still there were more hunters to come, no doubt.

"In truth the evening has born a bitter fruit. Dylan is now as I was. The one to unite us flees with broken wings. Our Dream is lost to the fragments of fate. The abyss surrounds us. I am the traitor I have come to despise. I am my father's son."

Turning away, Elric was reluctantly followed back to the caves by Guiscard to hunker down for the future storm and possible onslaught. The code of the vampire clan had always been to remain hidden, to remain secret so their numbers could slowly grow, but now things were different and Elric fear with new human technology their secret might no longer be safe.

Does Dylan find his way to the hidden killing field where his friends Pam, Kurt, William and his bellowed Roxanne along with the two hunters and the fallen vampires are hidden in a cave allowing their blood to be collected so the other vampires could feast?
