A/N: Hello!
Just a small one-shot for Kane and Salima, sorry for the short word-length! I am a bit busy with applications, admissions and stuffs. I will be busy for some days as well. So do understand my busyness.
Sunset reunion~
He was inhaling the mist-filled air. They were needed to cool his heart down, not only skin. He has grown up during the past few years, that too in a good way. His hair almost stayed in the similar way, but with a little more modifications, making it seem better and more believable. He was more charming than he looked in his teens. He was clad well in a zipped black jacket having a green triangle, the tip staring from the middle of the jacket ending up to the hem of the jacket. His tall legs were bound by black jeggings. His dark blue eyes met the orange hued beach during the sunset. His black shoes were guarding his feet from the sand. Nevertheless he looked well in any type of dress, but being clad in black makes any person look richer and attractive.
The sound of the waves was the only audible thing. There was nothing else to hear but still it was a good one because it was soothing to his ears. The quality of sound was really outstanding that he would listen to it forever in his life.
Suddenly, he heard some mild noises. They sounded like the footsteps of a person walking on the sand grains of the beach. He slowly turned his head back to see a familiar person. His eyes widened, his pulse increased and he could literally feel it, and his body turned warm and flushing due to the sudden shock. The same woman he was just seeing is he last saw as a girl who was fifteen years old. She has grown up too, not that much in height but heavily in features. Her hair was cut short and it was drooping only a few inches below her shoulders. Her right fringe was pinned with two black pins and the rest of the fringe just falling on her temples and forehead. She was dressed in a mid-waist blue jean, black in-shirt and orange puffed jacket. She was wearing an earring and a brown heal shoes.
Neither of them was happy. Salima was just expressionless. Kane was simply confused yet guilty. He just remembered what happened around twelve years ago. The wind got stronger and was blowing their hairs rampaging like fires.
"Kane…. Hope you haven't forgotten me. I was wasting all my time and energy to search for you. Why did you leave me just like that?"
Kane was too disappointed to answer. When they were fifteen, they both were in a trip with a few of their best friends. It was almost during the end of their summer vacation back then. Kane was actually about to leave a not for his friends as he was going to move on to Australia for higher studies. However, when Salima was meddling with his bag she found the note. She pretended like she never saw it, but secretly she went to see Kane the night he was packing his baggage and leaving. She was sobbing throughout. Kane didn't react even a bit to it, but secretly he was feeling bad about it.
Kane didn't want to make his friends feel bad about it, but as if it happened. She did her higher studies well without any problems despite there were a few glitches in between.
"Kane…. Please tell something. If you had said that to us earlier, I wouldn't have felt this sad. Why did you leave all of a sudden?"
"Salima… please don't ask about it. Or else I would get reminded of those bad memories."
"If you don't tell that, we can't settle up the things between us. Do you want to have such type of a bond with me forever? Do you hate me or what? If you want to forget it, then settle this up Kane."
"I got to know about my studies in Australia around a day or two before the trip. If I had told you all, your moods would have been heavily spoilt. I don't want my final memories with my friends to end up in a bad note. That's why I refrained from saying. I know Goki, Jim, Sasha and others would be angry with me, but I hope they'll understand this. I am too guilty to even see them now."
"So…. You never meant to hurt us?"
"Why the hell would I hurt you guys? Do you know how bad I was feeling when I was leaving you all finally? Did you know how much my parents were discouraging all the world travels with you guys? I never really intended to hurt you guys! Why would I do that?"
It was Salima's turn to be disappointed. She never knew how much pain Kane was facing behind the back. It was surely way more hurting for Kane to have kept this as a secret. What Kane went through was the bitter truth and what Salima felt during the trip was a sweet lie. Kane just sacrificed the sweetness by accepting the bitterness. Salima was sobbing. Kane wasn't. They both are really polar opposites but what they go through are nearly the same. Salima expresses but Kane keeps it within himself. However, Kane was crying but only by a bit.
"Salima… I am extremely sorry for everything. I love you and our friends a lot. I just can't see you guys being in low moods. If I were rude to you, I am really sorry for that."
Salima removed her puff jacket and walked to Kane. She just dropped it to reach for an embrace from the blunette. She just hugged him close to his chest without even seeking his permission.
"Salima… you…."
"Sshhh. I just want to hug you for some time. Do you know how badly I missed you?"
Kane couldn't help. He returned back the hug gently. After all these long years, they both could fee all the severities in their bond disappearing, regenerating as a new found matured mutual feelings for each other. They felt very warm with each other and they deserved it. It's just a warm hug but it's filled with a lot of meaning. The sun was going to set completely and they were lucky enough to watch the scene. How wonderful it is to see something beautiful with a person whom you are meeting after a long time?
"Kane, I just have one thing to tell you."
"Tell me."
"I think I like you Kane."
"So do I, I like you Salima. Why is that even a question?"
"Well uhhh….. Not in the way you think but…. I really like you….. But not exactly like friends but…." Salima struggled to tell her confession. Kane almost found that out, but just pretended that he didn't and chortled.
"Okay Kane, I think I confused myself for a moment Hahahaha."
"Never mind, shall we go out for dinner today? Its been time since we went out."
"Oh sure, we can."
"Then come, let's go."
A/N: Well, uhh I know this is quite short. I just returned to this site properly after a long time so I need a bit time to retain my writing skills.
