Hi everyone, DJ here.
I've been thinking for a long while about how I would write a sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom which also wraps up all of the Jurassic Park franchise's loose ends. I'm not going to pretend that this is a "good" alternate version of a film that isn't out yet and might turn out to be amazing… in fact, my story is completely insane from start to finish and is, by my own admission, "not good but hopefully fun". But anyway, I hope you enjoy it! I plan on writing a new chapter every other week, but due to my studies, I may be delayed quite a bit.
CHAPTER ONE – THE DECIMATED ISLE
The movie opens with a series of TV screens showing news footage displaying the chaos that the unleashed dinosaurs have had on the human world. In addition to the species seen to be released at the end of the previous film, an assortment of other species have appeared in the islands of the Cinco Muertes archipelago, managing to survive the journey after falling off of Isla Nublar during the volcanic catastrophe. We see that an enigmatic boat, with large gashes along its hull, was also found on the coast of southern California, its occupants missing, presumed killed by an unknown predator or predators. The camera pans out to show a man in his early sixties in front of the screens, chuckling to himself as he watches news footage of the T. rex eating the occupants of a zoo in Northern California.
The man says to another person, sat across the room from him "Hmmn, Eli was as stupid as I thought. Still, the desired outcome has been achieved. Now then, onwards to the next phase."
A young woman, whose face is obscured, walks into the room. The camera pans out to reveal more and more high-tech genetics and computing equipment, as well as the Bio-Syn logo.
"Dodgson", she says, "I have what you needed." She passes him a USB memory stick, and Dodgson connects it to his central PC, opening up footage filmed from an offshore vessel near Isla Nublar, which shows the scene from JW Fallen Kingdom in which Owen is engulfed by a 500°C pyroclastic surge as he runs from the eruption, only to then emerge unharmed and rescue his friends from the viewing sphere after it crashed into the ocean.
Seeing this, Dodgson's face lights up, and he says "Thanks", smiling. "And he had no side effects? The swirling ash should have torn his flesh and lungs to shreds while the severe heat evaporated the water from his body. I guess this means that Doctor Wu's secret human project was a success after all. This means that the ending of the old world is upon us. Oh, Owen Grady, you no idea what we've done to you… or what is coming next."
Dodgson points to his screen and asks the young lady if she knows what was done to Owen to enable him to survive such a horrifying incident without an issue. When she shakes her head, Dodgson elaborates:
"I'll need you to know if you're to complete my endgame. I couldn't get willing volunteers for the experiment due to all those ethics code violations if we went public, so we chose Grady as he was among the fittest of Jurassic World's trainers and among the least likely to die… Over the course of his time training the raptors at Jurassic World, Mister Grady's drinking mate and fellow raptor trainer was spiking his drinks with a gene-editing enzyme of my own design. I've been combining the genes for heat and impact-resistant chitin from the claws of the pistol shrimp, which can withstand impacts and temperatures of over five thousand degrees, with the genes coding for the highly flexible form of chitin produced by a single-celled organism called Polysaccammina ipohalina. That flexibility stopped his body from becoming noticeably stiff. Doctor Wu was able to get rat tissues to synthesise the chitin within their own cells, becoming monstrously resilient."
The young woman nervously interrupts Dodgson: "Now, I think I've risked my life enough… can you… can you please prove to me that my family are still alive?"
Dodgson uses his clapper to turn off the lights in his office, and turn on two spotlights in a large (basketball pitch-sized) room behind his office, visible through large windows. The spotlights reveal four people tied to crosses with chains, gagged, and hanging over what initially appears to be a barren floor.
"Ah, yes" he said, "I suppose they should go free." Dodgson then motions to one of his employees, who unties the chains around the 13 year-old boy, who then plummets fifteen feet from the top of the cross, breaking his leg. As the boy screams, Dodgson tells him "Don't worry son, we'll have you looked at by the best healthcare professionals we have! You're safe now!"
The young boy sees his older sister, and while barely able to move in agonising pain, and traumatised by months of imprisonment, he gives out a brief, comforted smile. However, his sister seems to collapse to her knees, staring at him through the glass, and he realises that something is very, very wrong. A creature is heard breathing behind him, and he turns to see a Neovenator (a genus of medium-sized carcharodontosaurian allosauroids) standing behind him, which horrifically devour hims, while the rest of his family are forced to watch. Muffled screams can be heard from his parents and younger sister through their gags.
Dodgson turns off the lights, and says "Never make demands of me again, Doctor Rodriguez." The young woman, revealed to be Zea, remains frozen on the ground, in complete shock. Dodgson continues "Now, you're going to bring Owen Grady to me, because he'll trust you. If he can survive a pyroclastic flow, there's no telling what an army with those abilities could withstand... So, Doctor… I need you. If I'm to assess the applicability of the technique on human subjects, I need to study him. You're going to give him to me… or everyone you love will die, one by one, like little Carlos here did."
Zea snaps in a brief fit of burning rage, and grabs the stapler on Dodgson's desk, slamming a staple into his cheek, before being restrained by a large man in a suit.
"I'm goinna overlook that", says Dodgson, "because I'm nice. Now then, get out of my sight, and bring Grady to me". [Dodgson is pulling the staple out of his cheek nonchalantly as he says this].
As Dodgson sits back down, he receives a phone call from Dr. Wu, who along with a team of ten highly trained mercenaries, is descending onto Isla Sorna via a helicopter. Wu tells Dodgson that they were now overlooking the island, and would have the samples from the degraded InGen lab facility within the hour.
One of the mercenaries questions the safety of their mission, only for Wu to tell him that the island's ecosystem was highly degraded as a result of the introduction of many of his experimental creatures, including a large Spinosaurus, which led to a major extinction even on the island, and a catastrophic drop in biodiversity. Wu claims that the Spinosaurus had begun reproducing parthenogenetically, and had over-run the island before running out of food and having a major population crash, especially since Masrani removed almost all of the island's prey species and transported them to Isla Nublar.
Wu tells the men that they will almost certainly not encounter anything because of this, but with a light-hearted chuckle warns them anyway that any predators they do encounter are likely to be very hungry. The group's leader, Larry, tells Wu "Don't worry about me, we Coopers have been trained in the art of armed combat for generations. I'm a professional, I can handle myself… and I have business on this Island."
The helicopter lands in a clearing approximately 400 m from the InGen Atrium compound, and Larry has the men form a protective circle, automatic rifles pointing outwards, around Wu. The group cross in-formation a ~25 m wide zone of relatively open grassland, and are initially confident in their safety, only for a large tail to swipe across their path, and knock them down. Two of the fallen men rise from the ground with a disoriented wobble, only to be grabbed by the jaws of the attacking Spinosaurus, which bares the neck scars from its victorious battle against the T. rex in Jurassic Park 3. Since that movie, the Spinosaurus has gained an extra two metres in body length and is now in breeding season colours (see illustration), with a more realistic tail fin having developed as a sign of its maturity. The group re-enclose around Wu, and fire their automatic rifles at the creature's face, against Wu's advice. The weapons cause minimal damage, and prompt the Spinosaurus to begin relentlessly hunting the men down. As they are chased, two smaller Spinosaurus enclose from the other direction, prompting Wu and his men to run and fast as they possibly can towards the lab, with the larger and more dominant Spinosaurus intimidating the younger individual to flee. The group Run into the Atrium, a glass dome-shaped building with hexagonal metal struts, and shutter the door behind them, only for the Spinosaurus to smash the door in, and try in vain to reach the morsels inside, before slamming its body against the sides of the building, causing much of the glass to shatter, but the gaps in the metal were not large enough to allow her to get inside and feast on her largest meal in months. In desperation, she lies down with her jaws facing the Atrium entrance, ensuring that her prey are trapped inside. Larry breaks the formation, allowing Henry Wu to lead the way to his old genetics lab. Larry is kinda freaked out by what he's seeing, and asks Wu "What did you do here?"
Wu replies "I became God.", before smiling and chuckling. Larry chuckles back uneasily, keeping his eyes peeled for threats. He finds a Velociraptor skull and picks it up in his bag as a present for his daughter, who is a massive dinosaur fan, he tells his friend about he she is excited to hear about her Dad's adventure on "dinosaur island". Wu feels nostalgic as he enters his old lab, and thinks of the team who worked with him on their breakthroughs. He begins to tear up as he sorts through his old chilled sample drawers, remembering the wide-eyed excitement he once felt when he first started collecting Mesozoic amber, never knowing what kinds of creatures' DNA he would be able to find, or what animals he would reconstruct until he could see the embryos develop, and the trial-and-error processes of making replica eggs to allow the cell clusters to develop. Wu eventually reaches the drawer he's been seeking, and collects the vials his new employer sought.
A knock, and a dinosaurian sound is heard from outside the lab, so Larry takes another member of the mercenary group to take a look. When Wu suggests he take more than one, Larry tells him "We're here to protect you, Doc. Don't worry about us. Besides, I'm a professional, I can handle myself!", while smiling warmly and sticking up his thumb.
Larry and the other man charge around the corridor corner, and are immediately set upon by three Dilophosaurus, who fire a violent spray of venom into their faces. The men's screams prompt the rest of the mercenary force to charge after them, and they watch Larry being devoured head-first by the larger of the Dilophosaurus (unlike the juveniles in the first JP film, these individuals are adults). Larry's attempts to fight back are in vain, and in his last moments, he remembers his family. Refusing to give in, he makes one final attempt to get out, but as he grabs the Dilophosaurus holding his head's arm, another individual shreds his arm with a kick. The first of the mercenaries to reach the group slips on the puddle of venom and slides under the stairway railings, falling into the underground layer, where a fourth Dilophosaurus feasts on his broken corpse. The remainder of the group call to Larry, before realising that he and their two other comrades are both dead. Seeing no other option but to fight, the mercenaries shoot at the creatures, two of which are killed by the bullets, though the bullets mistakenly strike a large LPG container for the nearby generator, triggering a large explosion, tearing a hole into the side of the Atrium.
Henry Wu, hearing the blast, closes his sample-filled briefcase, now having everything he could conceivably need to complete his mission. A loud flap is heard as two large Hatzegopteryx fly in through the new hole in the dome. Wu exits via a secret tunnel, hearing his men being killed by the Hatzegopteryx and the two remaining Dilophosaurus on the radio as he does so. As he exits, he sees the Spinosaurus waiting in vain for his men to return out the front door.
In its crouched, open position, distracted by her hunger and focus on the entrance to the atrium, the Spinosaurus has unintentionally made herself vulnerable from attack. Hearing a subtle growl, she quickly gives a warning hiss, but as she turns her head she does not have sufficient time to stop the very large T. rex from knocking her off-balance.
Wu gets out his satellite phone, and, unable to describe his hopeless situation, thinks back on his own arrogant declaration of divinity, before calling Dodgson and saying "So, uh… Mr. Dodgson… Everything is going to hell."
A last remaining mercenary, clutching the skull Larry had intended to give his daughter, tries to reach Dr. Wu, but is crushed by the T. rex as it charges on the falling Spinosaurus, spending his last moments pleading to Larry's spirit to forgive him for not being fast enough to save him. The T. rex stamps on the Spino's sail, knocking her to her feet and hindering her helpless, save for her tail, which she uses to whip the rex's face, only for the rex to retort by biting the Spinosaurus's neck, crushing her vertebrae and killing her, before issuing a triumphant roar.
Dodgson tells Wu to put the briefcase on the ground, and drone helicopter blades spring from its sides. Samples collected, Dodgson thanks Wu for his service, before telling him that he would no longer be needed, as his methods, notes, and reports were all now known to Dodgson, as well as all of his samples. The case flies up to another helicopter, who leaves Wu stranded on the island, face to face with the T. rex.
The camera pans up as he is heard screaming, and the film's title appears over footage of the Isla Sorna rainforest.
The title card appears, and the movie proper begins
